In Valhalla, in front of the huge white monument.
"hiss……"
Yahiko took a sharp breath and opened his dazed eyes.
There seemed to be a gap in his memory. One second he was still in a sea of scarlet blood, and the next second he was suddenly back. His thoughts were in a mess and difficult to sort out.
It was not until his consciousness gradually became clear and his memory kept coming back to him, that he finally remembered everything.
Just now, the boss suddenly reached out and pressed my head. Before I could react, I fell asleep instantly. Then, as if in a dream, I entered the sea of blood and saw three familiar faces again.
Those were the people who had died in the Land of Mountains before, and they looked incredibly alive.
Yahiko couldn't quite remember his reaction at that time. He seemed to just hug them stupidly and exchange greetings for a while. He couldn't remember the content of the greetings or other specific details. It was as if he was dreaming and vaguely aware of the situation.
He only remembers that, in addition to a few familiar faces, there were dozens of dark shadows of various shapes.
Their all-black bodies resemble black cloaks, and their faces have long, pointed noses and white masks.
Unlike the few who remained sane, the other dark shadows all looked stupid and dull, with large holes on their chests running through their bodies from front to back.
It looks like a monster, exuding an extremely cold aura.
Those "people" who remain sane are "Shinigami"?
Those monsters seem to be called... “Hollows”?
"No, that's not right, those are not monsters."
Yahiko raised his hand to cover his still dazed head and shook it, whispering, “they are all souls of the dead."
"You were unwilling to die in battle, but because you failed to assert yourself, you lost consciousness and became a 'Hollow'?"
The Walking Dead?
Only the physical body can be called a walking corpse, but if only the soul that has lost its self is left, it is far worse than a walking corpse.
Thinking about how they died in battle because of him, and became monsters after death because of their unwillingness, Yahiko's expression gradually became full of self-blame and guilt.
But just when his thoughts were confused and his mood was complicated.
Bang!
"Hiss! It hurts, it hurts!"
Yahiko suddenly felt a headache and woke up instantly. He covered his head, grimaced in pain, and looked up with tears in his eyes.
"If you dare to cry here, I will kick you out."
Kumokawa slowly opened his eyes, retracted the karate chop that hit his head, and said calmly: "The blood of the enemy should be dripping in front of the monument, not your cheap tears of mourning."
"Besides, aren't they still alive? This state is only temporary."
Hearing this, Yahiko covered his head in shock for a moment, and remembered what those companions who still had some sanity and became "Shinigami" said to him at the end when he was dragged into the spiritual space just now.
——"Don't worry, we will meet soon, it's just a matter of time."
"If a spirit without a body stays in the living world for too long, it will be forcibly pulled to the Pure Land of the Dead." Kumokawa said, "So now they can only stay in a special independent space."
"As for those 'Hollows', although they have lost consciousness now, if they devour enough spirits and evolve to the level of 'Gillian' or even 'Adjuchas', it is possible that they will regain consciousness."
Kumokawa was not trying to comfort Yahiko, this was a real possibility.
In Bleach World, "Hollows" are a part of the undead souls who, due to their attachment to the living world, reluctance to leave, or other obstacles, are unable to ascend to soul society and wander in places that attract them.
After years of suffering from resentment, or accelerated by some external factors, it will eventually degenerate into "Hollow".
In the battle at Kagero Village, there were hundreds of casualties.
Under normal circumstances, they should be sucked into the Pure Land after death, or directly transformed into pure "spirits" and dissipated in the world.
However, Kumokawa used the ability attached to the template [Ichimaru Gin] to forcibly interrupt this process and accepted those souls that stayed in the world because they were unwilling to die and had strong spirits.
Unfortunately, out of nearly a hundred spirits, only three survived the stage of becoming "Hollow" after being awakened by him, and successfully transformed into spirits with self-awareness, and there is hope that they will become real "Shinigami" in the future.
The other spirits all fell on the way to awakening and degenerated into "Hollow" without self-awareness.
This ratio and result made Kumokawa feel a little regretful, but fortunately, being "Hollow" does not necessarily mean that one cannot have one's own self.
"Hollow" can be divided into three levels.
After a long period of slaughter and devouring of hundreds of "Hollows", the special individual with the stronger strength among the "Hollows" will eventually merge with its own kind, the so-called lower-level Hollow - Gillian.
Generally speaking, a "Gillian"-level Hollow formed by the fusion of hundreds of Hollows has no individual consciousness and acts purely on instinct.
However, if among the fused Hollows, there is one whose individual consciousness and strength are far higher than the others, it is possible to form a "Gillian"-level Hollow with individual consciousness.
This "Gillian"-level Hollow enhances its abilities by devouring "Gillians" of the same level, and can eventually evolve into a "Adjuchas"-level being, possessing intelligence and self-awareness that is no less than or greater than that of humans.
There are very few "Adjuchas". When they reach the level of "Adjuchas", they already have extremely powerful strength. Only by breaking through the bottleneck and raising their strength to a new height can they become a higher-level "Vasto Lorde".
Under normal circumstances, when a "Hollow" evolves into a "Kilion", it will become a new individual, but the ninja world is different from the world of "Bleach" after all.
Kumokawa wants to try fixed-point breeding to see if "Hollow" can recover its memories before death.
Of course, those "Hollows" are still very low-level existences now, far from the lower-level Hollow "Gillian", not to mention the "Adjuchas" and "Vasto Lorde" that come after them.
"We need enough spirits to try to feed and raise them. We can only do it step by step."
Kumokawa said in a low voice, then looked at the orange-haired boy who was pondering beside him, and said bluntly: "Yahiko, the breathing method has its limits after all. When you go back, practice the Blade Zen that I taught you before."
"When you create your own Zanpakutō, I will entrust the souls of those who died in the battle to you. Then, you can form your own army of Shinigami."
[Blade Zen], [Ichimaru Gin]'s template ability, is similar to a kind of meditation. It can bring consciousness into the sword, communicate with the sword, build a "Zanpakuto" based on one's own soul, and enhance the strength of one's own spiritual body.
This is "knowledge" rather than an "ability", so Kumokawa had taught "Blade Zen" to Yahiko a long time ago.
However, judging from this kid's performance just now, he was already a little dazed just by being brought into the spiritual space. His [Spirit] level was pitifully weak, and it was obvious that he didn't take it seriously.
"Can I also form a legion?" Upon hearing Kumokawa's words, Yahiko's body suddenly shook, and he instantly perked up and said excitedly, "Is it enough to just build a 'Zanpakuto'?!"
if only?
Kumokawa couldn't help but smile.
Although he didn't think Yahiko could transform his sword into a "Zanpakuto" in a short period of time, Kumokawa didn't undermine his confidence and just nodded.
"When you master [Blade Zen], you will be able to see spirits. I will teach you how to collect the souls of the dead, but it is limited to collecting the spirits of the dead in the legion."
He pointed at the huge white monument and warned sternly: "The interior of this monument to heroes is the barrier space, including the 'Hollow' and the 'Shinigami'. All spirits must be sealed inside."
"Since they were still willing to fight for us after their death, I promised them that they could see their families again in the future. However, the living have their own laws, and the dead have their own rules. The dead must not appear in front of the living in the form of spirits."
"After they build their own Zanpakutō, I will prepare bodies for them to house their souls. Only then will they be able to appear in the world in physical form."
"I have already told them these words. Now I am telling them to you. Do you remember them?"
Seeing his boss's rare serious expression, Yahiko also realized the possible problems with resurrecting the dead. The excitement on his face faded, he took a deep breath, nodded, and said seriously: "I understand."
He was serious for only two seconds before scratching his head and complaining, "But, those who died in battle were from other legions when they were alive, right? After death, they became my people. I always feel a... strange feeling?"
They work hard when they are alive, and they will burn themselves after they die. Although the spirits that can stay in the world are unwilling to die before they die, they always feel a little inhuman.
Kumokawa ignored Yahiko's anxiety and raised his hand to pat Uzumaki Kazuya who was still in shock and daze, and said with a smile: "Why are you so shocked? Isn't this the barrier sealing technique you developed yourself?"
Hearing this, Uzumaki Kazuya came back to his senses as if waking up from a dream, and said with a wry smile: "We thought you want to use it fight the enemy, but we didn't expect that you could not only allow the spirit to stay in the world, but also make it stronger, and even..."
It can even allow the spirits of the dead to possess new bodies and meet their family and friends.
Yahiko was just amazed at the magical power, but Uzumaki Kazuya saw its meaning.
This power is somewhat similar to the forbidden technique "Impure World Reincarnation Technique" developed by the second Hokage, Senju Tobirama, as recorded in the Uzumaki clan's classics, but the two are fundamentally different in nature.
Although the "Impure World Reincarnation Technique" involves the realm of the soul, it is ultimately just a technique similar to the "Summoning Technique".
The real difficulty is to find the "Pure Land" and establish a "spiritual" connection with it. The strength of the resurrected living will at most be the same as before their death. They cannot become stronger, but will only become weaker and weaker.
But the power displayed by Kumokawa was clearly a brand new, complete and systematic system, a system specifically designed to strengthen spiritual bodies.
This is unheard of, never seen before.
"Shinigami, hollow, spirit body..."
A few words flashed through Uzumaki Kazuya's mind, and the next moment, four words suddenly appeared in his mind, instantly making his whole body shiver, a sense of horror making his hair stand on end.
——The Land of Underworld?!
He finally understood why he always had a familiar feeling.
It is the "Land of the Underworld" that Shinnō once mentioned!
"Takamagahara", the heavenly world where the gods live, "Ashihara no Nakatsukuni", the continent where humans live, and the "Yomi" that belongs to the dead. (Yomi means land of the Dead / Underworld / Hell / Netherworld)
In mythology, the Land of Underworld has a "Yomi Army", an army of demons composed of soldiers and generals, as well as the "Yomi Ikazuchi Kami" (Underworld Thunder God). They are not individual beings, but a collective term for eight "Yakusanoikazuchi".
When Uzumaki Kazuya heard Shinnō mention these things before, he originally treated it as a joke and laughed at his wild imagination while doing experiments.
Born into a ninja clan that was born a thousand years ago, although the "clan" has been disrupted and dispersed into various different departments, he still knows a lot of secrets.
For example, the three holy places, Ryuchi Cave, Mount Myoboku, and Shikkotsu Forest, are all in "different dimensions". It is said that there are also members of the Uchiha clan who have opened the Mangekyō Sharingan, and their pupil techniques are also in a similar "different dimension".
Whether it is the "Pure Land" or the "Land of the Underworld", in Uzumaki Kazuya's view, they are both similar different spaces.
This kind of thing is not common, but there are many records of it in ancient books. At most, it is a little strange, but not shocking.
How is it possible that someone can control the cycle of life and death like the gods in mythology?
But now it's different.
The thing that Lord Kumokawa took out can allow the spirit to exist independently from the physical body and can also make the spirit become more powerful.
This means that if he can find the "Pure Land", if the "Pure Land" is ownerless, if "reincarnation" really exists.
Then maybe he could really create the "Land of the Underworld", a world belonging to the dead, where the souls of the dead are, the destination of the souls of all living beings after death, and it controls the death, reincarnation and rebirth of all living beings in the world!
The sense of déjà vu of "Shinigami" and "Hollow" was so strong that Uzumaki Kazuya could not stop fantasizing and he actually felt that what Shinnō said seemed to be true.
——Lord Kumokawa who was standing in front of him at this moment seemed to be building a "Yomi Army" to supervise the demons.
Thinking of this, Uzumaki Kazuya looked at Kumokawa's face, as if he wanted to see something from it.
But there was only a faint smile on that face, and some confusion caused by his gaze.
"What's wrong?" Looking at Uzumaki Kazuya's expression, Kumokawa raised his eyebrows and asked, "Is there any problem?"
"No, nothing."
The corner of Uzumaki Kazuya's eye twitched, and he quickly shook his head, then hesitated for a moment and lowered his head slightly: "Lord Kumokawa, if there is no problem here, then I will take my leave first."
Looking at Uzumaki Kazuya, whose attitude seemed even more respectful, Kumokawa just smiled and nodded as usual: "Go ahead."
After getting the consent, Uzumaki Kazuya turned around and was about to leave the hall.
But at this moment, Kumokawa's voice came from behind.
"Oh, I almost forgot to say that."
Uzumaki Kazuya subconsciously turned his head and met a pair of deep blue eyes. He heard Kumokawa speak in a normal tone: "Don't worry, you and your son will meet one day."
“…”
Hearing this, Uzumaki Kazuya took a deep breath, and his already shaky mental defenses collapsed in an instant. Without saying a word, he bowed deeply to Kumokawa, and strode out of the hall under Kumokawa's gaze.
After he left, the smile on Kumokawa's face faded slightly, and he turned to look in the direction of Yahiko beside him.
No, it should be said that it was his side.
"It seems that there are guests visiting."
Kumokawa looked over Yahiko's head, looking at the empty space, as if he was staring at something, and said calmly: "It's just that I don't know if it's an uninvited evil guest, or a distinguished guest from afar."
Hearing this, Yahiko was stunned for a moment, followed his gaze and looked to his side.
Empty.
"Boss, are you talking to me?" Yahiko pointed at himself and asked in confusion.
As the words fell, a figure gradually appeared, like white ink splashed on black paper.
"Of course I came here at your invitation." The woman's voice was gentle and ethereal. "My name is Miroku, a priestess from the Land of Demons." (Shion mother)
"This is our first meeting. Should I call you 'Son of Disaster' or 'Defier of Fate'?"
