A nine-man team was running at full speed along the coastline of the Land of Fire.
That's right, a team of nine.
Perhaps it was because he had witnessed Kaito's medical ability during the previous mission to pursue the Yakushi Nono, so when they retreated in groups this time, Kushimaru directly forced Kaito's team to act together.
The Seven Ninja Swordsmen basically acted alone and did not lead a team to perform missions, so in the end it became a seemingly nine-member team.
Fortunately, Kushimaru did not refuse to let Team Ken join.
By the way, Ken is the name of the thick-browed Taijutsu jōnin.
The first thing Kaito did was to ask him if his last name was Might. Fortunately, the other party did not have a last name and was just an ordinary civilian ninja.
This made Kaito sigh that perhaps having thick eyebrows really could add to one's physical talent.
As for his three team members, except for the member of the Hozuki clan,Hozuki Shingetsu, who had just been promoted to Chūnin, the other two were just Genin from an ordinary ninja family.
I don't know how such a team was put together.
"Kid, how long are you going to watch the Long Blade: Nuibari?"
Kushimaru pulled out his Long Blade: Nuibari in annoyance and pointed it at Zabuza.
Everyone immediately stopped moving forward and looked at Kushimaru and Zabuza in confusion.
Zabuza thought about it and said seriously.
"Nothing, I just think it's a little ugly."
Fortunately, Kaito who was standing by was well aware of how stubborn his teammate was. If Kushimaru hadn't asked, Zabuza would not have taken the initiative to provoke him, but he certainly couldn't say anything nice now.
He quickly grabbed Zabuza's clothes and pulled him behind him.
"Kushimaru-sama, my team members have always admired you for using the Long Blade: Nuibari."
As he said this, Kaito pulled out the short sword tied with a steel wire from Zabuza's back and swung it twice casually.
"You see, he is also practicing the use of Long Blade: Nuibari himself."
Kushimaru looked at the short sword in Kaito's hand with some suspicion, and then just spoke lightly.
"If you are not afraid of death, you can challenge me at any time."
After saying this, he ignored everyone's reactions and started on his way again.
Although Zabuza was somewhat unhappy with Kushimaru's tone, he also knew that now was not the time to cause trouble.
He just glared at Kaito fiercely, put his short sword into the sheath, and followed.
Perhaps this incident opened up the conversation.
Kushimaru, who had not spoken much on the way, did not continue to hurry on his way.
Instead, he slowed down and came to the Kaito.
"Boy, are you interested in joining the Anbu?"
Kaito didn't expect the other party to ask this question.
Although Kushimaru, as the vice captain of the Anbu, does have the right to recruit people, it seems that the other party did not think highly of him and his friends before. Why would he suddenly want to invite him to join the Anbu?
Besides, my sunny and cheerful personality doesn't really match the dark side.
Kaito thought about it and decided to reject the other party in a tactful way.
"Kushimaru-sama, My Jōnin-sensei is currently serving in the Perception Unit. I am a medical ninja myself, so I don't think I am suitable for the work of the Anbu."
After saying that, he looked at Kushimaru carefully. Kaito didn't want to offend the other party for no reason.
Unfortunately, the ANBU mask prevented him from making out the other person's expression.
"Well, you can think about it again. There's no rush to give me an answer."
After saying that, Kushimaru accelerated again and went to the front of the team, leaving only the somewhat disheveled Kaito.
"Gua~e"
Blue skipped over to Kaito and patted his ankle comfortingly.
After this little scene, everyone increased their speed again and did not encounter any Konoha ninjas who tried to stop them along the way.
Not long after, they returned to the vicinity of the Land of Whirlpool.
At this time, They can see ninja teams landing on the Land of Whirlpool from different directions one after another.
It seems that what everyone was most worried about, Orochimaru leading his troops to directly station on the Land of Whirlpool, did not happen.
But it was normal to think about it. Without sufficient supplies, the Kirigakure ninjas were not prepared to rush to rescue the camp. Even if Konohagakure chose to wait on the Land of whirlpool, the Kirigakure ninjas would not choose to forcefully attack the camp to increase casualties.
Looking at the dilapidated camp in front of us, it is basically a replica of the Konohagakure camp that was destroyed by the Kirigakure ninjas yesterday.
"Okay, the temporary team is disbanded."
After saying this, Kushimaru left instantly.
The remaining two team members looked at each other.
In the end, it was Ken who spoke first.
"Doctor Mirukawa, I hope we can have a chance to work together again in the future. We'll take our leave now."
"Okay, then please take good care of me in the future, Jōnin Ken."
Hoshigaki Kisame, who was also a temporary member of the team, also chose to say goodbye, but before leaving, Kaito asked him not to tell anyone about the Yuki Clan for the time being.
Now the team is back to Kaito and his two companions.
"Let's go find Ao-sensei first."
Mei's proposal was also agreed by the other two. The camp had become like this, and the three of them were very worried about Ao's situation.
Finally, the three of them were in a ruin, which should be the location of the Perception Unit’s command tent. They saw Ao limping and looking for something there.
"Ao-sensei, I'm so glad you're okay."
Mei, who had been worried all the way, quickly ran to Ao.
When Ao heard the voice, he immediately turned around and saw that the three students were safe and sound. A sincere smile appeared on his face.
Kaito carefully observed Ao's condition. He didn't expect that Ao, who was already injured in the battle, did not have any new wounds. He really admired him.
"Kaito, well done." Ao first gave affirmation to Kaito.
For Ao, being able to lead the team to complete the mission safely makes him a qualified team leader.
"Ao-sensei, let's talk somewhere else."
But then Kaito looked at the ruins of the camp covered with rubble and rags, and seemed to feel that he had thought too much.
The four of them simply found a few broken boxes and sat down to share information from both sides.
"Are you sure it's the Yuki Clan?"
"Tsk, she's already used Ice Style, how could it be fake?" Zabuza said angrily.
Kaito also spoke up to confirm.
"That's for sure. We've seen that person once before at the camp training ground, and it seems that she is the female ninja pretending to be an Anbu on the Pirate Island."
"It was also thanks to the fact that the opponent was a speed-type jōnin, but she didn't exceed my reaction limit, so I was able to restrain her."
In fact, if Yuki Yama hadn't been irritated by the continuous ridicule that day, and worried that Kaito's talent would become a major hidden danger in the future, she would have been staring at Kaito and wanted to kill him.
Otherwise, the team members at that time might not have been able to win the battle intact.
