The next morning.
Kaito first went to the Kirigakure Hospital to explain the situation to Nakamura Keiko.
Then, he was very forcefully stuffed with a lot of antidotes, military ration pills and other items, and was reluctant to leave after being given many instructions for a long time before leaving the hospital.
Afterwards, since it was time to make preparations for the war, Kaito naturally thought of the ninja tool shop where Shimotsuki Ichiro was.
In fact, Kaito has visited this ninja tool shop several times in the days since returning to the village.
It's not that I want to speed up the progress of my ninja sword, but I'm afraid that old man Shimotsuki is too lonely forging weapons by himself, and he might get sick, so I came to visit the old man.
However, old man Shimotsuki obviously didn't think so. The first two times Kaito came, the old man invited him to the forging room in the backyard to drink tea and observe.
When he came for the third and fourth time, old man Shimotsuki asked the front desk to kick him out and told him not to bother him if he still wanted the sword.
But now that Kaito is about to go to the battlefield, he naturally hopes to bring the ninja sword he has been longing for with him.
By the way, the village gave the three members of the team a C-rank ninjutsu reward.
Because neither her father nor Ao had mastered the fire-attribute chakra, Mei chose a C-rank fire-style ninjutsu.
Kaito chose to give up ninjutsu and selected a scroll of decent Kenjutsu from the list.
It's just that because he has been obsessed with practicing ninjutsu recently, Kaito's current Kenjutsu, in the words of Zabuza, is at the level of 'not killing oneself when fighting an enemy'.
As for Zabuza himself, he chose a C-rank perception ninjutsu with the help of Ao.
Although the perception range of this ninjutsu is far inferior to the perception ninjutsu mastered by Ao, its advantage is that it senses the enemy through the vibration of the earth, which is very suitable for use in the Hidden Mist Jutsu.
Cautiously walking into the ninja tool shop, Kaito had already made up his mind that if the clerk at the front desk continued to chase people away, he would say that he was here to purchase ninja tools, and this time he had to see old man Shimotsuki before leaving.
As soon as I entered the ninja tool shop, the big sister at the front desk came to greet me with a smile.
"Brother Mirukawa, what a coincidence. Shimotsuki-san just said he would send someone to notify you to come over."
A feeling of surprise instantly surged in his heart, Kaito showed a sunny smile and asked.
"Miss Jing, could it be that Shimotsuki-san is looking for me?"
Miss Jing also smiled and nodded.
"Yes."
At this moment, Kaito didn't have time to make excuses for purchasing ninja tools. He thanked Miss Jing and hurried to the backyard.
In fact, Kaito didn't really like this ninja sword. It was just like an unknown "toy" to him. After waiting and anticipation, it immediately became unusual.
As soon as he entered the backyard, Kaito saw Shimotsuki fanning himself with a fan and rocking back and forth in a rocking chair with a calm look on his face.
The old man's strong body made the rocking chair creak under the weight.
"Hey, little devil, why are you here so quickly?"
Ichiro Shimotsuki looked at Kaito, who rushed in, with some surprise and asked.
Then, as if he thought of something, his face turned as dark as the bottom of a pot, and he waved the fan in his hand to chase Kaito away.
"Go, go, go, go, you're here to rush us again! It's not ready! It's not built yet! Go back!"
Kaito was not angry. He walked to Shimotsuki with a smile, took the fan and fanned the old man.
"Hey, old man Shimotsuki, I'm not here to look for you today. I'm about to go to the battlefield, and I came here to purchase some ninja tools. Who would have thought it would be such a coincidence."
When Shimotsuki heard this, instead of calming down, his expression became even more serious.
"You just graduated not long ago, kid. Why are you going to the battlefield? Kirigakure Village is in such a mess now. Has it reached this point?"
Knowing that old man Shimotsuki was worried about him, Kaito stopped playing around and spoke softly.
"No, it's just that our Jōnin-sensei was sent to the front line, so I'm going to go with him for training. I won't be doing any missions that are too dangerous."
Upon seeing this, Ichiro Shimotsuki didn't say anything more, just sighed lightly, and brought Kaito to the forging room.
Although the fire in the forging room had been extinguished, the scorching heat still blew towards kaito.
Ichiro Shimotsuki was already accustomed to this. He walked straight to a shelf and picked up a short sword wrapped in red cloth.
"This is it. Take a look for yourself."
Kaito couldn't wait to turn over the red cloth, and inside lay a short sword with a black sheath, which looked nothing like the previous "Weaknessless Soaring Shortswords".
Slowly pulling out the short sword, Kaito looked at it carefully.
The short sword is less than 60 centimeters long, with the blade accounting for about two-thirds of the length. The blade is straight and slender, with almost no curvature. The blade is sharpened on one side, and the blade pattern is like water waves, revealing a bit of coldness. The oval black blade tip looks a bit plain.
What's strange is that the handle of the short sword is not tied with the usual rope braid, but is wrapped with criss-cross dark green lines.
Shimotsuki saw Kaito looking at the hilt of the short sword, so he also began to introduce it.
"I took the gemstone off the previous pair of swords and reshaped it to make the handle of this short sword. The main reason is that it is so good at conducting and amplifying chakra that I couldn't bear to waste it."
"But don't worry, I have made it special. Even if your hands sweat a lot, the handle will not slip at all."
Upon hearing this, Kaito tried to grab the handle of the short sword and shook it. Sure enough, the handle, which was very comfortable to hold, had surprisingly high friction.
"Secondly, according to your request, I have also specially strengthened the blade of this short sword. I think basically no one can cut it off."
This is the situation that Kaito was worried about during the previous battle against pirates, and it is the key point and the requirement emphasized by old man Shimotsuki.
"Finally, the ability to control the wind from the previous pair of swords cannot be retained. That is the effect of the magic weapon. But I added a new function to it when forging it."
Having said that, the old man excitedly dragged Kaito to the edge of the yard and pointed to a wooden board in the distance and said.
"Come on, Kaito-chan, you point the tip of the short sword in that direction. Then try to input chakra from the diamond pattern on the left side of the handle, which is probably the feeling you normally use when releasing ninjutsu."
Kaito did as he was told, pressed his thumb on the green diamond on the hilt, and then input chakra.
“Whoosh—”
A very short sound of breaking through the air was heard, and a white blade light suddenly emerged from the short sword in Kaito's hand, which instantly extended out and pierced through the wooden board. Then, the remaining force of the blade light pierced through the rocking chair that Shimotsuki had been sitting on before.
Kaito was also shocked when he saw this, and subconsciously raised his arm slightly. However, the white blade light did not dissipate, but instead chopped the wooden board and rocking chair into pieces.
Kaito and Shimotsuki both cried out in surprise at the same time.
"Oh my god! Shinsō!"
"Ah! My rocking chair!"
