"What? It's actually Orochimaru, one of the Legendary Sannin!"
Mei cried out in surprise.
Fortunately, there were few customers in the barbecue restaurant at this time, and no one noticed this direction.
"Yes, the troops that the village sent to the front line to set up an outpost camp were intended to put pressure on Konoha and let the other great ninja villages see Konoha's weakness and share the spoils. So the village did not immediately launch a large-scale attack on the Land of Fire."
"However, what we didn't expect was that the Land of Earth, which had declared war on the Land of Fire before us, withdrew the large force that had already penetrated into the Land of Grass back to the Land of Earth after seeing the forces sent by the Kirigakure Village."
"As a result, the Konohagakure Village, which was supposed to be attacked from three sides, immediately dispatched enough troops to the eastern border to fight against our Kirigakure troops."
"Even Orochimaru, who was supposed to be the commander of the northwest front against the Iwagakure Village according to the original intelligence, was transferred to the eastern border. And it was precisely because of the untimely intelligence that the Perception Unit on the front line ran into the enemy's support troops head-on."
After Ao's explanation, the three little ones finally understood the current war situation and the purpose of the village.
Kaito followed Ao's line of thought and thought about it carefully.
It is estimated that the top leaders of the Kirigakure Village did not originally intend to fight so early. They just wanted to send a large force and wait until several great ninja villages sent large forces and then attack Konohagakure Village together, making it difficult for Konohagakure Village to cope with it, and then look for an opportunity to steal the spoils.
Perhaps they also wanted to trick those reckless men in Kumogakure Village into getting out of this situation sooner.
Anyway, the Kirigakure Village is isolated overseas, and the frontline troops can defend the Land of Whirlpool. Unlike other ninja villages that march on the mainland, as long as the troops enter the small country that serves as a buffer, they will have to fight even if they don't want to.
Who would have thought that not only did the Kumogakure Village side not take action for some unknown reason, but the Iwagakure side also played a trick and directly withdrew its troops from the Land of Grass.
Now it is the Land of Wind and the Land of Water that are taking the lead.
"So Ao-sensei was sent to the front line because the captain of the Perception Unit, Chūkichi, was injured?" Mei asked with a worried look.
"That's just one reason. Too many perception ninjas have been sacrificed on the front lines. If we don't send reinforcements, it may affect subsequent operations."
"On the other hand, the village will send a large number of ninjas to the front line. The front line suffered a lot of losses this time, and Konoha may launch an attack on the camp at any time. And..." Ao hesitated, but after thinking about it, he continued.
"And if we lose troops at the beginning of the battle and the village does not fight back, it may damage the dignity of the Mizukage-sama."
What Ao said was indeed correct. Some time ago, the Kirigakure Village troops were not making any progress, which caused quite a lot of complaints in the village. Now, if they don't fight back after being beaten, some people might think that the Kirigakure Village's top leaders are too weak.
"But Ao-sensei, Konoha may just want to hurt us as quickly as possible and force the Kirigakure Village to withdraw from the war first. If the village is too aggressive, it may..."
Kaito didn't continue speaking because no matter what they discussed, they couldn't change the decision of the village's top leaders.
The Kirigakure Village needs to regain its ground, and the Konohagakure Village needs to eliminate the Land of Wind and the Land of Water directly while it still has the advantage in military strength.
Both Land of Wind and Land of Water are now ready to fight.
"Ao-sensei, if you take another group of perception ninjas to the front line, what will happen to the village's defense?"
Kaito suddenly remembered that he had heard Ao say before that the village’s perception ninjas were already somewhat stretched.
We are still filling the holes on the front line, and we don’t want our hometown anymore?
"It's okay. With Mizukage-sama as the in charge of the village, and the ninjas from the ninja clans who have mastered the perception ninjutsu will also participate in the defense of the village. There is no need to worry about the safety of the village."
Although the Kirigakure Village does not have a special perception clan, most ninja clans will still appropriately train some perception ninjas, but the village usually does not let them directly participate in these tasks.
Zabuza, who had been silent, looked at Kaito with a strange look, as he had asked a lot of questions today.
His eyes revealed an expression that said, "You, a Genin, have a lot to worry about."
Seeing this, Kaito scratched his head in embarrassment and stopped asking questions.
The main reason is that the shock of encountering Orochimaru on the battlefield was too great, which made Kaito eager to know more information.
But thinking back, if he really went to the battlefield, there would be danger everywhere. It didn't make much difference to him whether he met an ordinary jonin or Orochimaru.
Seeing that the three students understood the current situation, Ao spoke up to give them a few reminders.
"The team will stop training these few days. Go back and make more preparations. Don't lose your life on the battlefield because you are not prepared enough. I will also go to the Perception Unit to arrange support personnel in the next few days. We will gather at the village gate in three days and set off."
"Ao-sensei, are we setting off together with the large support force?" Mei asked with some confusion.
"Yes, but there are only perception troops. The rest of the large force will be led by the Jōnin Yagura and will set off in five days."
The three little ones were a little surprised, not because of the departure time, but because they didn't expect that it would be Karatachi Yagura who would lead the troops this time.
After all, having experienced two special missions before, the three of them had some understanding of the struggles within the village. With Karatachi Yagura's strength and status, he would undoubtedly take over the command of the front line directly if he went to the front line.
But don't forget that there are still a lot of clan ninjas on the front line as mid-to-high-end combat forces, and the village is not afraid of internal conflicts.
As if he could see the confusion of the three students, Ao replied in a somewhat discouraged tone.
"We can't help it. The only ones in the village who can truly match Orochimaru's strength right now are Mizukage-sama and Jōnin Yagura. Since Mizukage-sama is unable to go to the front, we can only send Jōnin Yagura to guard the front."
What Ao said was indeed correct. Currently, in the Kirigakure Village, there were only two people who could reach the level of Kage: the Third Mizukage and Karatachi Yagura.
And if the Mizukage really goes out in person.
Don’t forget that the Land of Lightning, which is across the sea from the Land of Water, has not yet joined the war. By then, the plot may be that the Raikage descends on the Land of Water.
And Ao also knew that the two tailed beasts in the Kirigakure Village, the three-tailed beast was still in the sealing stage and there was no suitable Jinchūriki.
As for the six-tailed beast, although the Kirigakure Village had obtained a lot of sealing knowledge when it joined forces with other ninja villages to destroy the Land of Whirlpools, and had successfully sealed it into the body of the Jinchūriki, the Jinchūriki was too young to be able to fight as a combat force.
Therefore, the village really does not have any high-end combat power, but thanks to the confidentiality policy that Kirigakure has always pursued, it is not known to outsiders.
"Well, you don't need to worry about the fights among the upper echelons of the village. You just need to prepare yourself and make sure you can survive on the battlefield."
"Yes!" x3
