A somewhat unfamiliar blade light flashed through the air.
The masked ninja stepped back effortlessly, dodging the attack.
However, before he could rejoice over this, a short figure appeared behind him.
"Bang~"
With a dull thud, the masked ninja's back caved in and he spat out a mouthful of blood before falling to the ground.
It was only then that the slender blue figure appeared.
It was the newly evolved Blue.
"Blue, good job!"
Seeing that all the enemies had been eliminated, Kaito immediately walked up and touched Blue's head.
"Quack~(～￣￣)～" Blue happily enjoyed the praise from his master.
When Terumi Mei saw that the battle here was over, she walked up to Ao and said with some sarcasm.
"Ao-sensei, the enemy seems to be looking down on you. They even sent out Genin."
Ao could only smile helplessly.
This is the third attack Team Ao has encountered in the past two days, since they got off the passenger ship and returned to the Land of Water.
At the beginning of the first attack, the other side even sent a Jonin to lead an attack team of several Chūnins.
Fortunately, with the reminder from Kaito, Ao was able to hold back the opponent's jonin in the first place.
And after a brief test, the jonin realized that it could not kill any member of Team Ao, so it chose to retreat in order not to reveal its identity.
In this attack, the enemy only left behind a few Chunin corpses and ended the attack hastily.
After Ao examined the bodies of these Chunins, he found that there was indeed a tooth with a spell engraved on it hidden in the mouth of each of them, and the identity of the attacker was revealed.
After the first attack, the three little ones were on high alert for a long time, fearing that they would be ambushed again.
Who would have thought that the senior ninja never showed up again in the subsequent attacks, and the quality of the attackers became worse and worse, and they were visibly perfunctory.
In this last attack, most of the enemies were only of the strength of ordinary Genin.
Ao did not take action, but just stayed beside Shimotsuki Ichiro and monitored the enemy. Kaito and the other two eliminated all the enemies without much effort.
In fact, Ao didn't quite understand why the enemy arranged the attack in this way, and why the senior ninja didn't show up again.
Moreover, he had already passed the information back to Karatachi Yagura a few days ago.
Now the account book in his hand and the two ninjas from the Takumi Village were just ordinary evidence. Ninjas usually didn't pay much attention to evidence, and only needed a result.
"Forget it, let's go. We will reach the village soon, let's speed up."
Ao shook his head helplessly and motioned for his students to follow.
They started to hurry on the road again, Zabuza walked up to Kaito with small steps and spoke with some disgust.
"I think you should return the short sword to me. Don't let the enemy kill you directly because of using it."
Obviously, Zabuza, who had defeated his opponent long ago, came to complain after seeing the horrible swordsmanship of Kaito.
Kaito smiled awkwardly and began to defend himself.
"Well, I only dare to try it out because Ao-sensei is here to help."
Previously on the passenger ship, Kaito finally agreed to Shimotsuki Ichiro's suggestion and decided to use part of the "Weaknessless Soaring Shortswords" as reward and materials to let the other party help forge a new weapon.
However, it would take time to forge a weapon, so Kaito asked Zabuza for his spare short sword.
First, Kaito can practice swordsmanship when he has nothing to do.
Secondly, he thought that even if his swordsmanship was not good enough, carrying a short sword on his back could mislead his opponents and prevent them from getting close to him rashly, so he could make better use of his long-range advantage.
"Tsk, with your level, it's useless to try it out. You should practice the basic skills."
It's no wonder that Zabuza mocked him. Kaito's current swordsmanship level is not even among the best among the students in the ninja school.
But after all, he is only 10 years old, so he can still practice a little later.
Moreover, Kaito also thought of the scene of the previous battle against pirates. Some close combat is always inevitable in ninja battles. Having a better melee weapon will help him avoid the embarrassing situation of being directly cut off by the opponent's kunai.
"Hehe, maybe your swordsmanship will be worse than mine in the future."
Kaito thought that maybe one day he would draw some melee skills and his swordsmanship would immediately soar to the sky, so he immediately stopped caring about Zabuza's words.
However, Zabuza didn't think so. He glanced at Kaito with disdain and didn't want to talk to this guy anymore.
"Hehe, don't worry. Even if I'm stronger than you, I won't fight with you for the Long Blade: Nuibari."
Kaito put his arm around Zabuza's shoulders and forced him to continue listening to his bragging.
Zabuza's eyes were almost rolled up to the sky at this moment.
However, Kaito still noticed the handle of Zabuza’s short sword. There was a ring there at some point, and the steel wire ninja tool that he had given him was tied to it.
“These two guys.”
Ao and Mei, who were walking in front, looked at each other, feeling helpless about the two noisy teammates behind them.
The five of them accelerated all the way back to the Kirigakure Village, and finally completed the mission safely without experiencing any attacks.
"I'm back. It feels like this mission lasted a long time."
Walking into the village gate, Mei couldn't help but stretch herself, obviously feeling a lot more relaxed.
"It's mainly because the journey took too long, and the actual task didn't take much time."
Kaito replied casually that it took more than ten days just to travel back and forth, and during that time he also had to find opportunities to do daily tasks.
Although these are relatively simple tasks, Kaito really doesn't want to jump into the sea in public again to clean the seaweed from the hull of a passenger ship.
"And there was an attack on the way back."
Zabuza spoke up to remind him, obviously he was also being tortured badly.
Ao saw that the students were all complaining, so he spoke up to attract the attention of the three.
"Okay, let's send Shimotsuki-san back first, then take the mission certificate to the Mizukage Building to hand it over, and then we can go home."
Then Ao looked at his three students who looked a little tired and added a sentence.
"Take a day off tomorrow."
"Yeah~"
After hearing this, Mei immediately cheered.
Even Kaito and Zabuza had a hint of joy in their eyes.
In the Mizukage Building, the Third Mizukage looked through the glass window of his office at the figures of Team Ao walking into the Mizukage Building, and said something meaningful.
"Young people nowadays, aren't they pretty good?"
Elder Genji, who was sitting nearby, smiled and adjusted his cane before answering.
“They are indeed very good young people.”
However, Karatachi Yagura and Yuki Hiro, the patriarch of the Yuki Clan, who were standing in front of the desk, just lowered their heads quietly without saying a word.
Seeing the four members of Team Ao completely enter the building, the Third Mizukage also withdrew his gaze.
After turning around and sitting back at his desk, he glanced back and forth between Karatachi Yagura and Yuki Hiro with an indifferent expression.
He tapped his fingers on the table and spoke slowly.
"Now that Team Ao is back, tell me how you plan to solve the problem later."
