Kaito listened to the conversations of several wounded ninjas and gained a better understanding of the situation on the front line.
Previously, because the front-line troops underestimated the enemy, all the exploration troops sent to the Land of Fire were concentrated in landing and then dispersed to infiltrate and obtain intelligence.
The commanders probably thought that if they concentrated their forces to land, Konoha's weak defense at the border would not be able to effectively block them, and they might even be able to directly establish a landing point.
As a result, when Kurosuki Raiga and Chūkichi led their troops to land, they were blocked at the landing point on the coastline by Orochimaru who had come to support the konoha forces and were almost wiped out.
After a new batch of ninjas from the Perception Unit led by Ao, who was given the task in an emergency, learned a lesson, and ordered all the exploration troops to act in small teams from the start.
A large number of Kirigakure Ninja teams dispersed directly on the Land of Whirlpool, all choosing to run from the sea to the coast of the Land of Fire continent, landing at different locations to infiltrate, explore, and destroy.
However, such small-scale confrontations will also gradually escalate the intensity of the war and will inevitably result in a large number of casualties.
Infiltration, counter-infiltration, and intelligence gathering are the main themes of these days on the war front.
Furutani Hanako also seemed to enjoy watching and chatting with these wounded ninjas.
Although she had temporarily finished the work at hand, she did not take the time to rest. Instead, she sat with Kaito and listened to gossip on the battlefield.
However, as if she felt that it was inappropriate to be so gossipy in front of the children, Furutani Hanako only listened for a while and then started discussing medical ninjutsu with Kaito.
"I didn't expect that Hanako-senpai would have such a deep understanding of Mystical Palm Jutsu."
"After all, I'm a full-time doctor. Unlike you, kaito, who is a medical ninja and has to spend his energy on combat."
Furutani Hanako seemed very proud of her identity as a doctor, and she shared some medical knowledge without any hesitation.
This was a great help to Kaito, who happened to be learning the Mystical Palm Jutsu recently, and it also gave him a deeper understanding of the medical ninja's signature ninjutsu.
The other party found a live fish from somewhere and taught Kaito the Mystical Palm Jutsu step by step.
Looking at the living fish dying in Furutani Hanako's hands, Kaito even felt that the other party's attainments in medical ninjutsu were no less than those of Nakamura Keiko.
Not to mention her very skilled use of the chakra scalpel, and the Delicate Illness Extraction jutsu that she had performed before.
But the more she was good, the more strange Kaito felt, so he just asked directly.
"Hanako-senpai is such an outstanding ninja, why have I never heard of you before in the Kirigakure Village Hospital?"
Furutani Hanako seemed to be accustomed to such questions and answered gently.
"I have been helping out at an orphanage for a long time, so I haven't been back to the village for a long time."
"So, giving up your job in the hospital and choosing to take care of orphans?" Kaito didn't expect to get such an answer.
"Yes, maybe I think that it is better to rescue those orphans who can't survive because of the war instead of treating the ninjas."
Looking at the radiance that emanated from within Furutani Hanako's expression, even Kaito felt a little ashamed of himself.
"Hanako-senpai is truly a kind person."
"Maybe. There are always things that are worth giving everything for."
For some reason, Furutani Hanako suddenly felt a little sad, and Kaito didn't continue the conversation on this topic.
'Maybe you are worried that you will be on the battlefield and no one will take care of those children, right? It's just that you have such superb medical skill, it is really impossible for the village not to recruit you.'
Kaito continued to lead the topic back to medical ninjutsu, seizing the opportunity to efficiently absorb various medical knowledge.
It was not until a new wounded person came to be treated that the two men stopped torturing the fish and returned to their work.
Inside the main tent of the camp.
Ao looked at the somewhat lazy Suikazan Fuguki in front of him and sighed helplessly.
"Fuguki-sama, all the Perception Ninjas that can be dispatched have already entered the territory of the Land of Fire. If we continue to dispatch Perception Ninjas, the defense forces around the camp and on the Land of Whirlpool will be seriously insufficient."
"The frontline reconnaissance work is a direct order from the Third Mizukage. You just need to follow the order."
Suikazan Fuguki casually flipped through the scroll in his hand, seemingly not understanding what Ao meant by the words at all.
"What I mean is, can we send in some more combat ninja troops to assist in intelligence gathering?"
Suikazan Fuguki looked even more disdainful upon hearing this.
As the self-proclaimed leader of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen, Suikazan Fuguki has a natural contempt for young Perception Ninjas like Ao.
"Send additional combat troops? You should wait for Karatachi Yagura to arrive and report to him about this matter."
Hearing the other party's answer again, Ao could only worry.
Perhaps it was because the village immediately sent Karatachi Yagura to take over after the defeat on the front line, which made Suikazan Fuguki resentful about this, and he has been in a state of passive resistance in recent days.
Fortunately, Suikazan Fuguki is still managing the camp's daily arrangements as usual.
However, because the leader of the Perception Unit, Chūkichi, was injured and returned to the village, the current exploration and command work basically all fell on Ao's shoulders.
Ao is a young Perception Ninja who has just joined the Perception Unit not long ago. It is already a rare opportunity for him to command the ninjas in the Perception Unit. It is basically impossible to obtain assistance in other aspects without the approval of Suikazan Fuguki.
"But Fuguki-sama, there are not enough Perception Ninjas on the front lines right now, and we can't get all the intelligence. If we send more regular ninja teams to coordinate, it will definitely improve efficiency and reduce the loss of Perception Ninjas."
Suikazan Fuguki, who was fiddling with the scroll, looked up at Ao, grinned with a mouth full of sharp teeth, and spoke in a cold voice.
"Reduce the loss of Perception Ninjas? What about the loss of other ninjas? I remember the casualties of the combat troops sent out two days ago were much greater than those of the comparable Perception Ninjas!"
"Okay, you can go down. Karatachi Yagura will be here in the next two days. Both of you can decide these matters by yourselves."
As the advance troops of this support troops, Ao was naturally assigned to the side of Karatachi Yagura by Suikazan Fuguki. Seeing that he was endlessly talking here, he was even more displeased.
'Well.'
Ao sighed silently in his heart.
Although the support troops led by Yagura set out only two days later than Ao and his men, the Perception Unit received orders from the Third Mizukage and rushed to the front line at full speed.
Moreover, the large-scale marching speed of the support troops is bound to be slow, so it is hard to say whether Yagura can really arrive in the next two days.
Suikazan Fuguki saw Ao standing there without saying a word, and then waved his hand to drive him away.
Ao had no choice but to leave. After all, he still had a lot of work to do in terms of intelligence gathering and personnel transfers.
However, just as Ao was about to walk out of the tent.
'Bang--'
Suddenly there was an explosion outside.
"Is that the sound of a flare? Someone is attacking the camp?"
