Bang, bang, bang!
The rain hit the window with a heavy sound, and leaden dark clouds rolled over the sky above Konoha.
The occasional flash of lightning makes people subconsciously hold their breath, and only breathe a sigh of relief when the subsequent muffled thunder rumbles.
Uchiha Shinji stood at the entrance of the Konoha Ninja School building, looking at the Konoha flag fluttering wildly in the wind at the training ground in the distance.
Three students were gathered around the flagpole, bending over to avoid the rain and lowering the flag, but when a boy grabbed the flag that was blowing fiercely in the wind, he was carried backwards by the flag.
The other boy subconsciously rushed over and tried to hug him, but he was not heavy enough and was blown away together with him, falling into the muddy lawn and becoming a drowned chicken.
Finally, the boy pointed at the two men's funny looks and laughed. The two boys who fell into the mud looked at each other and saw each other clearly. They were originally angry and pointed at each other and laughed.
On the other side, students who were leaving school were wearing raincoats and running around, looking for their parents to pick them up like headless flies. Their shouting and yelling were shattered by the heavy rain and disappeared into the mud. They felt like a group of tadpoles that couldn't find their mother in the muddy water.
Under the eaves at the entrance of the Ninja School, Uchiha Shinji watched the scene expressionlessly. He exuded an aura of indifference, as if everything in front of him had nothing to do with him, and he was completely separated from the emotional peers around him.
Until most of the students had almost left, Uchiha Shinji politely and indifferently rejected the teacher's suggestion to take him home, and stood there quietly as if waiting for something.
"This is the first time in my life that I know Konoha can have such heavy rain. I wonder how it compares to the Land of Rain written in the textbooks."
Just as he was staring at the rain in a daze, a gentle voice came from behind him, disrupting his thoughts.
Uchiha Shinji glanced behind him and saw a blond boy walking up to him.
Uchiha Shinji found that he actually had some impression of this boy.
Namikaze Minato was in a different class from them, but their teacher would often ask them to learn from Namikaze Minato from the next class, praising him as a role model among civilian ninjas, with great talent and hard work.
In addition, this good student has done some unexpected things recently.
Uchiha Shinji's previous impression of him was limited to rumors, but now it seems that he can add another label to him.
——Be outgoing and friendly.
"Are you waiting for someone? Or can't get home?"
Namikaze Minato walked over to his side and squatted down, hiding with him under the eaves of the teaching building. Looking at the illusion of rain rising and falling in front of them, he asked with a smile.
Uchiha Shinji was sure that he had never met him before, but now he was squatting beside him and talking to him naturally.
This made Shinji, who had no friends at school, feel a little awkward. They were like a pigeon and a crow standing under the same roof. Although they were both taking shelter from the rain, they were completely different species of creatures.
"…waiting for someone."
Although he didn't want to pay attention to him, Shinji knew very well that if he didn't say anything, this guy would probably assume that he was the child that no one picked up, and would definitely keep pestering him to go home with him.
So, Shinsi uttered these words in a cold tone, as if he was keeping people at a distance.
"Oh, I see."
Namikaze Minato was also a little surprised by his indifference, but he obviously didn't mind, and the bright smile on his face did not change at all: "As I remember, your name is Shinji?"
Hearing his name, Shinji looked down at him and couldn't help but frown.
He didn't understand how this guy, whom he had never met before, recognized him and called him by his name.
"I saw your practical class report card when I was helping the teacher organize things."
Seeing Shinji's confusion, Minato winked and smiled, "Your kunai and shuriken throwing scores are both A+, just like mine."
"...I remember you, too."
Shinji was silent for a moment, then said indifferently: "You beat a few students into the infirmary last week, and then beat away the Genin brother they called."
At this point, he paused, looked up and asked, "Why?"
"Why?" Minato stretched out his hand to catch the rain, asking knowingly without even raising his head.
"You should be the type of good kid." Shinji frowned, "Aren't you afraid of being reprimanded by the teacher for doing this?"
"Yeah, I was still scared. It was my first time after all." Minato smiled and looked up at him. "But, what they said was so harsh, so I couldn't help it."
"What?" Shinji asked subconsciously.
Minato patted his wet hands, tilted his head and smiled helplessly: "Probably something like monster, ugly, die or something like that?"
It sounds a bit harsh, but in Shinji's opinion, these words are just that level.
After all, these words had been used by others to insult him before, and perhaps still were used now, but he no longer cared.
Moreover, based on Shinji's understanding of the blond boy in front of him, when he heard someone insulting others with these words, his first reaction should be to tell the teacher, and he would not directly beat the student into the infirmary because of this.
Because they are still children.
With just this one reason, any mistake can be forgiven.
unless……
"Are they scolding someone you know?" Shinji asked.
Minato gave a somewhat forced smile, which, although it didn't answer his question, was obviously confirmed.
Not just "knowing" someone, that person is also "important".
This slightly changed Shinji's impression of this "little sun".
In his opinion, if a person is very gentle, likes everyone, and is gentle to everyone, it is equivalent to being indifferent to everyone.
It is difficult for gentle and correct people to survive in this world, because this world is neither gentle nor correct.
But now it seems that this "little sun" is not so "correct" and "gentle".
"Huh! Time to go."
Minato stood up with the help of his thighs, looked at Shinji and smiled gently: "Since you have someone to pick you up, I won't go with you. See you next time."
Seeing Shinji nodded expressionlessly, Minato rushed out with his school bag on his head, and his figure gradually blurred in his sight.
On a tree in the distance, a white figure was wandering around boredly under the cover of branches and leaves. He lowered his head to look at the bushes under the tree and asked, "Hey, Tobi, can that little human really satisfy Madara-sama?"
In the grass, Tobi ignored White Zetsu and squatted on the ground with a branch in his hand, drawing something while muttering something.
"Hey, Tobi, what are you doing?" The White Zetsu asked curiously, sticking his head out from the tree trunk.
"Don't bother me, idiot!" Tobi muttered in dissatisfaction, "From my observation, the feces of humans are actually slightly different in shape and color. I'm trying to distinguish the different kinds of feces. Maybe I can find a way to poop."
As he spoke, he drew on the ground without even looking up, as if he thought this was some extremely important topic that could shock the ninja world.
"..." White Zetsu scratched his head and said with envy, "It's great that you can still find something meaningful to do, Tobi."
Most White Zetsu are of ordinary level, and their wills have been controlled by others since birth.
It seems that the greatest meaning of birth is that there is no meaning of existence.
But even for White Zetsu, their individual abilities are actually very different.
Special individuals like Tobi are extremely rare among the entire White Zetsu.
Therefore, a White Zetsu like Tobi who has "ideals" is actually envied by many White Zetsu.
Although Lord Madara always calls Tobi an idiot, it's really good.
"I don't know what Lord Madara is doing now." White Zetsu muttered as he staggered.
"Madara-sama, you must be pretending to be deep in a dark base." Tobi complained, "Humans are really complicated. They are always calculating this or that, but in the end, the ones running errands are all White Zetsu like us who have no complaints."
After he finished speaking, he did not receive any response from his companions, but instead a cold voice came.
"Oh? Tobi, it seems that you are very dissatisfied with me."
This familiar voice made Tobi's body freeze suddenly, and he raised his head and looked at the tree with a creaking sound like a machine.
He saw Uchiha Madara, who looked very old, appear on the tree. If it weren't for the fact that they don't have the ability to sweat, Tobi and the White Zetsu would have been covered in cold sweats.
"Ahahaha, Madara-sama."
Tobi was about to explain something, but Uchiha Madara had no intention of listening to his explanation. He looked at Uchiha Shinji in the distance and said indifferently: "Is that the person you are talking about?"
At this moment, under the gaze of Uchiha Madara, Uchiha Shinji, who had originally told Minato that someone would pick him up, also walked out of the school in the rain when he saw that there was no one around.
Although it was only evening and the perfect time to take a break and go shopping, obviously not many people would be willing to go out in this weather. The heavy rain and the gloomy gray-green sky made everything covered with a layer of gray, and the usual flow of people on the street was cut off by the knife-like rain.
The rain splashed on Uchiha Shinji's body, and he walked silently to a quiet and deserted dense forest.
He turned his head and looked around, and after making sure that there was no one around, he looked up at the sky, and two tomoe appeared in his eyes.
As if he discovered something, his pupils froze and he formed seals unskillfully.
"Lightning Style: Lightning Strike Technique!"
Boom!!
A burst of white light struck down from the sky accompanied by thunder. The surging white light spread out along with lightning, instantly illuminating half of the dark rain curtain around it. Even the heavy rain was dispersed by the impact, and not a drop of water flowed in a regular circular space.
A crack was left on the ground in front of him, and in the pool of water formed by rain there were patches of electric wires, which rose into white mist under the high temperature.
Under the cover of rainy weather, no one noticed what was happening here.
As he watched the ninjutsu that he had finally successfully released, a hint of joy flashed across Uchiha Shinji's eyes, and he subconsciously raised his hand and touched his eye sockets.
Although he felt that he had already learned the only lightning ninjutsu left by his father, this was the first time he successfully performed it.
In the distance, Tobi, who was following closely, saw this and suddenly became excited. He looked up at Madara and chuckled, "Madara-sama, that's him, Uchiha Shinji. His father was a jonin of the Uchiha clan, and his mother was just a civilian ninja. Both of his parents died in the war. Although he is only a teenager, as far as I know, this little human has opened two tomoe at once."
Both his parents died, and at the age of a teenager, he skipped the single tomoe and directly opened the double tomoe?
The ninjutsu he just used also looked somewhat familiar.
It should be a lightning-inducing technique created by a certain clan member?
With the help of the Sharingan's powerful insight, he observed the pattern of lightning on rainy days and used very little chakra to connect with the thunder.
There are actually quite a few such ninjutsu that make use of the natural phenomena and terrain, and they can generally exert a power far beyond one's own actual strength.
Uchiha Madara seemed to have thought of something, and a trace of reminiscence flashed in his eyes, but his tone was still cold: "Just this is far from enough."
As the former patriarch of the Uchiha clan, who has lived all the way from the Warring States Period to the present, he has seen too many children who opened their Sharingan before the age of ten because of war and fear.
During the peak period of the Warring States Period, there were three-digit members of the Uchiha clan who possessed three tomoe, each of whom was above the level of a jonin, and most of them could be said to be elites among the jonin.
But it is not enough, far from enough.
What he needs is not the three tomoe Sharingan.
What he needs is a child who has the potential to open the Mangekyō Sharingan.
Only the Mangekyō Sharingan can bear his name and walk in the ninja world on his behalf.
Among the hundreds of Uchiha clan members who opened the three tomoe Sharingan, in the end, only a few awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan.
Uchiha Madara knew very well that talent was indeed important in order to open the Mangekyō Sharingan, but it was only the most basic thing.
Having no father, no mother, and no relatives, this alone meant that Uchiha Shinji was destined to be unable to become his "agent".
"This is the person we can find right now who best meets your requirements, Madara-sama." Tobi spread his hands helplessly, but soon he laughed and said, "Don't worry, Madara-sama, just keep watching, I'm sure you'll be satisfied."
At the same time, Uchiha Shinji, who was sure that he had learned the "Lightning Release: Lightning Strike Technique", was worried that someone would discover him so he did not stay any longer.
He returned to the neighborhood, crossed several streets, came to a dilapidated old house on the second floor, walked up the stairs to the second floor and opened the door.
Creak.
Shinji pushed the door open and entered the room. He paused and said softly, "...I'm back."
"Welcome back."
As soon as she finished speaking, a woman wearing round-frame glasses poked her head out of the kitchen. She was wearing pajamas and a kitchen apron, pink cotton slippers on her feet, and a spatula in her hand.
Feeling the warmth coming towards him, the coldness on Shinji's face gradually melted away.
Seeing this scene, Uchiha Madara, who was originally lazy, sat up straight on a tree in the distance.
“Interesting.”
Looking at the two people in the room, he narrowed his eyes and finally became interested.
