"It's really a troubled time."
After listening to Kitsuchi's report, Onoki lay on the bed, frowned, and whispered: "Hanzo, the Third Kazekage, it seems that they are not easy to deal with."
Hanzo led the Land of Rain to openly declare war on the Land of Wind and the Sunagakure Village, and in this short period of time he had already made a great name for himself.
No one could have imagined that a small country located between the three major powers, which had been suppressed by the three major powers for many years and was a victim of war, would actually produce a "highly poisonous weapon."
Although in Onoki's opinion, he is still far from the level of the so-called "demigod" mentioned by Amegakure Village, Hanzo himself is indeed among the best among the Five Kage.
With the cooperation of the giant summoned beast, Salamander Ibuse, their killing power on the battlefield can even exceed that of the Five Kage.
It is really difficult for the Sunagakure Village troops commanded by the Third Kazekage to fight against Konoha and Amegakure under such circumstances.
"Oh, right." Onoki narrowed his eyes as if he remembered something, "And that little brat who appeared out of nowhere..."
Most people only see Hanzo standing in the light, shining brightly, but ignore the figure standing in the shadows, the person who also played an important and indispensable role in this incident.
Should his name be Tsukimi Sato Kumokawa?
I never thought that the son of a noble, whose entire family was slaughtered and he was the only one left, could struggle to crawl out from the depths of hell and hide in the dark for so long.
What was even more unexpected was that he actually found an opportunity and bit his "enemy" hard on the neck.
Not only did he kill Musashi, who had cooperated with the big countries to purge the pro-war faction in the Land of Rain, but he also reached a clear cooperation with Hanzo to defeat the Sunagakure Village troops.
Without the help of that little kid, Hanzo would never have won the battle against the Sunagakure Village ninja so beautifully.
It can be said that it was the decisiveness and magnanimity of these two people that reversed the decline of the Land of Rain, disintegrated the Sunagakure Village Ninja Army head-on, and brought a glimmer of hope to the Land of Rain today.
Let those big countries that originally looked down on them understand that they also have sharp teeth that can bite off a piece of flesh from the big countries.
Although Hanzo has never admitted it, the fact that the two of them are now dividing the river and ruling separately is enough to explain a lot of things.
As long as that brat is not interested in the position of leader of the Amegakure Village, and as long as that brat does not extend his hand to the more prosperous and important south, Hanzo will ignore his expansion of power in the northern part of the Land of Rain.
As long as the threat from the big country remains, the cooperation between the two will be indestructible.
"But in this case, we won't be able to participate in the battlefield in the Land of Rain."
Kitsuchi also had a worried look on his face, but his tone was still calm: "I'm worried that Sunagakure will be overwhelmed if it faces the attacks of Konoha and Hanzo at the same time."
Iwagakure and Sunagakure had already reached an alliance in secret, agreeing that as long as Sunagakure could successfully break through Konoha's defense line, their Iwagakure Village would send troops to provide assistance without saying a word.
In short, they were calculating and only wanted to give the enemy a beating when they were down, and they did not intend to take the risk of intervening on the battlefield when the situation was uncertain.
They had already mobilized their troops, but the situation, which was originally turning unfavorable, suddenly changed. Two unexpected guys suddenly jumped out and slapped the Sunagakure Village twice.
"There's nothing we can do about it." Onoki shook his head and said calmly, "Don't forget, those guys from the Kumogakure Village haven't made any moves yet."
If they sent troops to support the Sunagakure army now, they would indeed be able to attack the Land of Rain from both sides, but Onoki would never give such an order.
Because the Kumogakure Village is still eyeing the northern waters of the Land of Earth, if you want to send troops, you have to split the main force of the village into two, and leave a part of it at home to guard against possible backstabs from the Kumogakure Village.
Even he, the Tsuchikage, had to stay in the village. Otherwise, not only would he fail to achieve the strategic goal of defeating the Land of Rain and invading the Land of Fire, but his own land might also be trampled and ravaged by the Land Of Thunder.
Even if they win, so what?
When they come back from the battle, they will find that even their backyard has been robbed.
"What on earth is Chiyo of Sunagakure doing? Didn't they say everything was arranged?"
Kitsuchi clenched his fists and frowned, "At this critical moment, she actually did such a stupid act of slaughtering civilians, touching the bottom line and forcing Amegakure village to get involved. What on earth was she thinking?"
Hanzo had already made public the "crimes" of Sunagakure when he declared war on the land of Wind.
More than 30 villages, nine towns, and a city all suffered varying degrees of damage. More than 3,000 civilians were slaughtered, and the food resources were looted...
The Land of Rain is a small country with a harsh environment, and it relies entirely on the development of heavy industry and fisheries to survive. The domestic economy has not been very prosperous since the last Ninja World War.
Coupled with the current Ninja World War, everyone is in danger, and the continuous banditry over the years has made the population loss even more serious.
This number is a very heavy loss for the Land of Rain.
Not to mention Hanzo and the ninjas of the Amegakure Village, even the pig-like Daimyo of the Land of the Rain would sit up from the bed and get angry when he saw this number.
If the Sunagakure Village had not slaughtered civilians so wantonly, the Amegakure Village would never have directly torn itself apart at this time, and the pro-war faction headed by Hanzo would not have found such a good opportunity.
The sudden intervention of Amegakure Village completely disrupted the joint layout of Iwagakure and Sunagakure, causing the plan to invade the Land of Fire to fail completely. Kitsuchi couldn't help but blame Sunagakure for their stupid behavior in his heart.
After all, this is a rare opportunity, and we missed it just like that!
"No, no, no, that old woman Chiyo is not so old and confused. At this critical moment when Konoha's defenses are about to collapse, she is unlikely to do such an unwise move."
Faced with his son's idea, Onoki shook his head with a sneer on his face: "If Konoha is not behind this, you can cut off my head and hang it at the entrance of the village!"
"If I'm not mistaken, it was probably Shimura Danzo who did this!"
Hearing this, Kitsuchi was obviously stunned for a moment, then he looked at the information in his hand and blurted out: "Is it the 'Darkness of Ninja' mentioned by Kagero Village and Takigakure Village?"
"...Kagero Village and Takigakure Village call him 'Darkness of Ninja'?"
Seeing Kitsuchi's expression, Onoki understood instantly and couldn't help laughing: "Haha, it's true that there's only a wrong name, not a wrong nickname. You're just a rat in the gutter."
Orochimaru's defense line collapsed immediately, and as a result, Danzo led the Konoha Anbu to the front line. The next day, the Sunagakure Village suddenly exploded, and a vicious massacre occurred in the Amegakure Village.
How could it be such a coincidence?
Although it is not known what disguise method could have fooled Hanzo, it is obvious that frame-up and murder by borrowing a knife were used.
“I don’t think that’s true.”
Kitsuchi shook his head, his face slightly gloomy as he said, "If it's changed to 'Shit Stirrer', the title would be more appropriate."
"They sent people disguised as Takigakure's hunting team to kill the family of the leader of Kagero Village. They cut up the bodies of his wife and children and scattered them around his office, angering him to death and provoking a dispute between Takigakure and Kagero Village."
"Although we are all ninjas, the actions of that guy are too shameless and disgusting."
Hearing this, the self-proclaimed thick-skinned Onoki was stunned for a moment, and then he couldn't help but laugh loudly, "I see, I thought it was his first time doing this, but it turns out he's very familiar with it!"
"Senju Tobirama really taught a good disciple! If he knew that his disciple had made such a huge sacrifice for Konoha's victory, I wonder if he would be so moved that he would kick open the coffin and jump out, hahahaha!"
Onoki couldn't help wanting to laugh at the thought of Konoha's reputation being ruined.
But thinking of his fragile waist, he suppressed the gloating in his heart, coughed, looked at Kitsuchi and said: "Now that things have come to this, we have no choice but to hold back..."
"However, although I cannot directly assist the Sunagakure Village, I still can have someone go as a backup."
Kitsuchi took a scroll from Onoki, opened it, and was slightly surprised when he saw the name on it.
"Kakuzu, Shadow, Black Warriors, Monks, and bounty ninjas and teams of all sizes. Father, did you actually hire so many people to investigate the power of Tsukimi Sato Kumokawa?"
Shadow has a big name in the black market. Konoha has offered a reward of tens of millions of ryo but still failed to catch him. The hunting teams sent out several times have all returned empty-handed.
Not to mention Kakuzu, who has the title of "undead", whose mission completion rate in the underground black market is close to 100%, and he has a record of killing A-rank rebel ninjas and elite jōnin several times.
There are also the Black Warriors and the Monks. The leaders of these two gangs are both difficult to deal with.
Although the era of warriors and monks has long passed, Kitsuchi will not underestimate these two groups.
Since they were able to flourish before the advent of the "one country, one village" era, and were able to make a name for themselves after the advent of the "one country, one village" era, it shows that they all have their own abilities.
The black market is a place where all kinds of people mix together. There are all kinds of people, but there are no good people. Those who can survive on this platform and make a resounding name must be people with countless blood on their hands.
But……
"Isn't it a waste of their talents to let them go together to gather intelligence?" Kitsuchi asked tentatively.
"It was originally just a test. When they come back, we'll see who has the most intelligence. We can deepen our relationship with them, focus on training them, and let them handle some of the dirty work that can't be seen in public."
Onoki said bluntly: "These bounty ninjas and teams are quite useful. They are all experienced fighters. As long as the money is in place, they will rush to take on missions that are life-threatening. If used well, they can bring us good returns."
Even the honest and simple Kitsuchi did not express any objection to his father's words. He just nodded and agreed with Oonoki's approach.
Where there is light, there must be shadows.
Although their Iwagakure Village now has tens of thousands of ninjas, this was all saved up by them tightening their belts bit by bit.
Given the current situation in the ninja world, if they were sent to do some missions, there would most likely be casualties.
It would be better to leave these dangerous tasks to the bounty ninjas who work for money. For them, the only loss is some money.
The resources required to train an excellent jonin are much more expensive than hiring a jonin-level rebel ninja.
As for the character and methods of those bounty ninjas, they don't care. They just want to use the power of the underground black market.
"According to the time, they should be sending back information soon."
Onoki looked up and said, "While the reserve funds are still sufficient, you need to contact some bounty ninjas in the future and let them serve as cannon fodder. It can also save some money..."
Bang bang!
Before Onoki could finish his words, there was a sudden knock on the door.
Onoki was choked, frowned in dissatisfaction, and said in a deep voice: "Come in."
As soon as he finished speaking, an Anbu ninja from the Iwagakure Village pushed the door open without hesitation, knelt on one knee in front of Onoki's bed, bowed his head and said: "Lord Tsuchikage, there is an urgent report!"
Hearing the word "urgent report", Onoki's heart skipped a beat. He swallowed his words of blame and said coldly, "Speak!"
"More than a dozen bounty ninjas and teams including Shadow, Black Warriors, and Monks were all wiped out, and no one survived."
"……What did you say?"
The expression on Onoki's face gradually changed, and he looked at the Anbu ninja in astonishment: "All dead? How is that possible?"
In his opinion, the strongest and most famous ones among those bounty ninjas and teams were not weak. Their strength was not inferior to that of the elite jōnin of the five major ninja villages.
Unless they encounter the troops of the five major countries, how is it possible that they will all die?
Even if the five major countries want to wipe them all out without leaving a single one alive, they will need the five Kage to take action personally, or send out a small force.
"Could it be that they encountered troops from the other four major ninja villages?" Onoki felt that this was the only possibility.
But the Anbu ninja shook his head and said dryly: "No, according to the intelligence, after we have confirmed it in every possible way, it was not done by other ninja villages. They died in... that City of Dawn."
"Also, the bounty ninjas and teams that have already accepted the mission have also returned their deposits. They also sent back a photo and said, said..."
"What?" Onoki said with a stiff expression and a cold tone, "Say it!"
"They said, they have done their best, sorry they can't bear this burden, please find someone else!"
The Anbu ninja shivered, and presented the photo to Onoki with both hands. He lowered his head tremblingly and dared not look directly at it: "This, this is the photo they sent back."
Onoki grabbed the photo before Kitsuchi. The moment he saw the photo, he felt a surge of blood rushing to his head.
There were dozens of heads hanging outside the city gate, seemingly floating in the wind, like a row of sunny dolls, or a row of dried bacon, looking extremely weird and terrifying.
Just at a glance, Onoki saw several familiar faces.
"That damn brat! Just kill them, but why hang them outside for anyone to see?" Onoki's face turned pale, he slammed the pillow and shouted, "Hang their head for everyone?! Or kill them to scare us?! I'm going to..."
Snap!
With a crisp sound due to excessive force, Oonoki's face suddenly turned pale.
"Ah!! My waist!"
