🕑 Added 2024-09-24 12:46:53 +0000 UTCChapter 173 Kakuzu: So I am a multi-talented person?
Kagero Village, inside the cave research institute.
Looking at Kakuzu who was looking through the contract documents in front of him, Kumokawa asked with a smile and a relaxed tone, "If there is anything you are not satisfied with in this preliminary draft of the work contract, we can slowly discuss it."
Kakuzu frowned tightly, his eyes swept across the contract, his expression looked a little deep, but it was not because there was a problem with the contract, on the contrary, the salary offered was too generous.
In addition to stating the type of work he is to perform, the working hours, salary amount, and when it will be paid are all clearly stated.
Salaries are settled on a monthly basis.
The first year is considered the so-called "internship period" in which he will get 3 million ryo per month, which is 36 million ryo per year. This is also the price of the bounty for an A-level traitor from the five major ninja villages.
But Kakuzu has been a bounty ninja for decades, and he has rarely seen bounty missions of this level. It can be said that they are very rare. He has nowhere to take the mission if he wants to.
You know, even in a big ninja village like Konoha, the reward for hiring a jonin to complete an A-level mission is only between 150K ryo and 1 million ryo.
Missions of this level are basically war-related missions, such as helping other countries or villages solve problems or launching wars.
This level basically requires fighting against strong opponents, so the leap is large, depending on the difficulty of the task and the strength of the opponent, and it will never be given to ninjas outside the village.
Now is war time, there are still many A-level missions, but you may not be able to earn 5 million even if you work hard for a month.
Moreover, the contract states that starting from the second year, if there are no major problems during the "internship period", one can become a "formal employee" with a basic salary of five million ryo per month, which means sixty million ryo per year.
In addition, if you perform well during your employment, you will receive bonuses, allowances and various miscellaneous items, such as the "five insurances and one fund", which the contract states is a security benefit.
It includes pension insurance, medical insurance, unemployment insurance, work-related injury insurance, maternity insurance and housing provident fund.
“This, this thing…”
Kakuzu summarized the complicated terms, his green eyes shone with an unprecedented light, and his heart started beating "bang bang bang".
Pension insurance allows you to receive pensions, funeral expenses and pensions after retirement.
Medical insurance provides partial reimbursement for treatment in the hospital due to illness or injury while working, and you can also enjoy the medical insurance benefits during your working period after retirement.
Unemployment insurance means that if you cannot find a job in the future, you can receive unemployment insurance and medical expenses subsidies.
Work injury insurance can pay for medical expenses, living care expenses, disability allowance, and disability benefits if you are injured at work.
There is also 90 days of maternity leave, maternity allowance, maternity subsidy under the final maternity insurance, as well as housing provident fund loans for buying, renovating, and renting houses.
It was the first time I saw something called “insurance”, and Kakuzu’s eyes lit up at the treatment.
As for his work...
Financial management and the like are no problem at all for him. To put it bluntly, isn't it all about maximizing profits, spending the least money and doing the biggest things?
No problem at all!
After becoming a bounty ninja, he only earned money but never spent it for decades. The bills were almost moldy in the sealed scroll. He had accumulated the lifetime wealth of a small noble. No one knew how to save and spend money better than him.
"How does it feel?" Kumokawa asked.
“……”
Kakuzu's thoughts were interrupted and he raised his green eyes.
He looked at Kumokawa in front of him with complicated eyes, as if he was looking at a rich bastard.
"I didn't expect you to do this kind of business... that would completely lose money."
Kakuzu was silent for a long time, then said in a muffled voice, "This is the first time someone has hired me to do something that doesn't involve killing anyone, with such an unheard-of salary."
Not to mention the basic salary and benefits, even the "five insurances and one fund" make Kakuzu feel like he is reading a book of incomprehensible origin. Those who don't know would think this guy is doing charity.
This is equivalent to saying that as long as you can survive the internship period and become a "formal employee", you don't have to worry about the rest of your life.
You will have a salary for your work, medical care for your illness, care for your old age, housing, and support for the weak...
"Mr. Kakuzu, I don't agree with what you said. How can you say it's a loss?"
The curve of Kumokawa's mouth deepened, and he once again quietly opened the [Speaker Talent] ability of the [Montana Max [Major]] template.
Immediately, his tone and words were filled with strong emotional appeal, and his expression was sincere as he said, "Please do not underestimate your own value. What is the most lacking thing in the ninja world? Talent! What is the most expensive thing? Still talent!"
"Mr. Kakuzu, in my eyes, you are a rare and highly sought-after compound talent. We are currently in need of talents like you. I sincerely invite you to join us!"
Talents, compound talents, rare and highly sought-after compound talents...
Kumokawa's extremely sincere words echoed in his mind, and Kakuzu's expression became dull. He felt that his body and brain became a little light, as if he was floating in the sky.
Ah, so I am so popular and so outstanding. Why didn’t I realize it before?
Oh, yes, it must be because his previous employers were short-sighted guys who didn’t see his true value at all.
Especially those short-sighted nobles and businessmen who relied on the little money in their hands to act arrogantly, bossing people around, and totally disregarding the bounty ninjas as human beings.
It was just because of his indifferent personality before, coupled with the inertia of thinking as a loyal and righteous man, and the concept that customers equal money and "money first", so he never paid attention to the bad attitude of those guys.
It doesn't matter if someone has a bad attitude or points fingers, as long as he gets enough money for them, that's all that matters.
But, everything is afraid of comparison. There is no harm without comparison.
Compared to those stupid nobles who knew nothing but still wanted to give orders, and those stingy businessmen who wanted to tear him in half to use him, Kumokawa's current attitude of care and sincerity made him feel very happy.
I instantly realized what a qualified employer is and what real "work" and "employment" are. Comparing it with those previous clients who had no sincerity at all, the gap between the two is like heaven and earth.
It is true that if you compare yourself to others, you will die, and if you compare goods, you will be thrown away.
"Ahem, you, you are really..."
Facing Kumokawa's blue eyes full of sincerity, Kakuzu actually coughed twice a little embarrassedly and asked subconsciously: "Are you sure it's okay? I'm a traitor from Takigakure Village."
To be a traitorous ninja means that one has betrayed the village that raised him in the past. No matter what the reason is, it is a stain that is criticized by others.
Traitors cannot be trusted.
This is the consensus of most people in the ninja world.
Even though he became a famous and reputable bounty hunter, the trust and honor he gained were only due to his belief in money and the so-called interest alignment.
As for trusting and valuing the rebel ninja from an emotional level, it is completely impossible because it is an extremely ridiculous act in itself.
Although the underground black market exists in the dark side of the ninja world, with complex networks, this organization has bases in every country and is deeply rooted in the ninja world, but in the final analysis they are just a group of sewer rats that cannot be put on the stage.
It can be said that most of these bounty ninjas are also carrying bounties from major ninja villages and are the targets of joint attacks by other forces.
Even the unscrupulous, shameless and black-hearted Onoki only hired bounty ninjas to do dirty work in secret.
Even though this was already known to other ninja villages, he still firmly denied it, claiming that the Iwagakure Village would never cooperate with bounty ninjas, and insisted that this was a slander from hostile forces, and that the Iwagakure Village had always insisted on clearing out the rebel ninjas from various countries.
Therefore, it was simply against common sense for Kumokawa to formally hire the rebel ninjas with such fanfare and even directly give them such high-standard treatment.
Kakuzu was indeed very moved, and even felt unworthy of it, but at the moment he was lacking in emotion and his mood was more negative, so he subconsciously thought of the worst.
These words are both a reminder and a test.
But Kumokawa did not hesitate at all about Kakuzu's "kindness".
"Mr. Kakuzu, the position of Minister of Finance involves fund management, which is a very, very important position."
He smiled calmly and said, "So, for the sake of fund security, I naturally did a strict background check before inviting you..."
"Oh, the purpose of background check is to avoid various employment risks, such as fraud risk, corporate espionage, non-compete agreement, bad record, etc., to verify your background information such as your work ability, criminal record and integrity."
"I know that you were once a loyal man. You knew it was an impossible mission, but you still obeyed the orders of the village leaders and went to Konoha to assassinate the first Hokage, Senju Hashirama."
"But you didn't expect that after the assassination mission failed and you managed to escape back to the village, you would be accused of a crime by the village leaders because you didn't complete the mission. You were completely disheartened and had no choice but to defect in order to protect yourself."
"I don't think you have done anything wrong in this behavior. In other words, I admire this about you. If you were so loyal that you were ready to be killed, I would think you were nothing special."
Having said that, Kumokawa paused and looked at Kakuzu who was silent in front of him.
Although he knew his intelligence so clearly, Kakuzu surprisingly did not resist at all.
It may be because the other party’s “background check” statement is very reasonable, or it may be because of the recognition and sincerity in the other party’s tone.
"…Then how can I be sure that you won't do the same thing in the future?"
Kakuzu raised his eyes to look at the little devil in front of him and said indifferently: "Trust is too luxurious for me."
It was because of his past experiences that he realized that in this world, only money and interests can be trusted.
Therefore, if you don’t trust humans, you can avoid being betrayed.
It’s not so much a change of way of life as it is an escape, completely closing one’s heart.
"Isn't there still a one-year internship period? That is the probation period. It is my responsibility to you, and yours to me. During this year, if you are dissatisfied with anything, you can leave at any time."
Looking at Kakuzu who was still a little stubborn, Kumokawa just smiled and said, "You will soon know how tolerant I am."
"At least, I'm not a fool like the senior officials of Takigakure. I won't do stupid things like backstabbing the heroes or killing the goose that lays the golden eggs. The benefits I give you are not given for nothing. Instead of worrying about being abandoned by me, you should worry about whether you will be exploited by me."
Hearing Kumokawa's teasing words, Kakuzu felt more relaxed.
What he hates is betrayal and abandonment.
It doesn't matter whether it's squeezing or not.
Or rather, that's what he hoped.
Unconditional trust without any reason would only make him feel uneasy.
Only talk about interests, not feelings, this is the philosophy he follows.
“…If that’s the case.”
Kakuzu was silent for a moment, then he looked into those blue eyes and nodded expressionlessly, "A monthly salary of five million ryō, plus various bonuses and subsidies, one hundred million ryō a year, I've reserved it in advance."
"If I don't have money to pay you by then, I will kill you."
"Ha." Such a standard tsundere statement made Kumokawa laugh. "If you can do it, you can take both the salary and my head."
At this point, he paused and said, "Since you have joined us as a core member, your code name will be 'North' for the time being."
The moment the words fell, there was a strange movement in his mind.
[[Collection] Mission: [The Chaos of Akatsuki]]
[Mission details: Subdue ten core villains who meet the requirements of strength, reputation, character, and stance, and give them the code names "Zero, Blue, White, Red, Black, Sky, South, North, Three, and jewel" respectively]
[Mission Level: Gold]
[Duration of the mission: 30 natural years]
[Completion Reward: 10,000 points for each core villain member who meets the requirements and is given a code name]
[Collected: Kakuzu [North], reward 10,000 points]
[Holding points: 14200 (4200 + 10000)]
"...North?"
Kakuzu was stunned for a moment, then came to his senses and said indifferently: "Whatever you want, I'll go get the water-attributed heart first."
After saying that, he put away the contract, turned around and walked out of the institute without any hesitation.
Kakuzu is now also very curious about his current strength and what abilities his new heart and new clone can possess.
Seeing this, Kazuto, who was originally crying, paused, and quickly flapped his wings to catch up, crying, "Don't abandon me, my original body!"
"Don't follow me, you stupid bird."
“Woo woo woo.”
Kumokawa watched Kakuzu leave with a hint of deep meaning in his eyes.
Does he offer a lot of salary and benefits?
It is indeed a lot, almost three times the normal salary.
But did he lose money?
Of course not.
Not to mention the mission points that cannot be measured in monetary terms, it seems that Kakuzu was hired alone with three times the salary, but in fact, there were five.
Four clones plus the original body, isn’t that five?
Kakuzu can carry the entire department by himself, and such a talent is hard to find even with a lantern.
As for the so-called "internship period", "probation period", "you can leave if you are not satisfied"...
Oh, he is not a reasonable and kind person, how could he let Kakuzu go like that?
Kakuzu now has his "blood" in his body. If he wanted to, he could blow Kakuzu into pieces at any time, but he just doesn't bother to do so.
As long as one works under him for a year, he will understand what a miserable life he had been living before, sleeping in the open air and eating rough food.
The current revenue and expenditure of the City of Dawn are all in the tens of millions. If we unify the Land of Rain and annex small countries in the future, the financial revenue and expenditure units will definitely become "billions".
Given Kakuzu's personality, he wouldn't be willing to leave even if they drove him away.
"Belief, money is the most important thing, and that can be considered a belief, right? Thinking about it this way, he's a really interesting guy."
Kumokawa smiled and whispered to himself: "If such a person goes against the principles he has always adhered to, it is equivalent to death."
He really admired such pure guys.
He is looking forward to what kind of future Kakuzu, who is taking a different path, will lead to, what kind of wind he will stir up, and how much joy he will bring.
