🕑 Added 2024-09-20 13:02:01 +0000 UTCChapter 169: Gion's Respect, the Gap within the Whitebeard Pirates
Grand Line, Marine Headquarters, Marineford.
In the Marine Office.
Tsuru looked at the big news in the newspaper and couldn't help but sigh!
That woman is so powerful that she can actually defeat Kaido, the King of Beasts!
Kaido, the beast, is the user of the Mythical Zoan, Fish-Fish Fruit, Model: Azure Dragon. His own defense is very strong. In the past, the World Government and even the marines have tried to capture him.
But in the end he would escape.
He is very difficult to deal with! He is very resistant to attacks! Even a great swordsman would have a hard time threatening him!
Unless they are a top swordsman, the fact that Unohana Retsu, as a woman, can defeat Kaido already explains a lot of problems.
On the sea, except for natural monsters like Big Mom, women's strength is generally weaker than that of men.
Even when Tsuru herself was young, she, Garp, and Sengoku were called the iron triangle of the marines.
But to be honest, her strength is totally incomparable to Garp and Sengoku.
That's why Tsuru was very impressed to see that Yachiru Unohana Retsu was able to achieve this level on her own.
"Kendo tournament! I'm really looking forward to it! I want to go and participate!"
A young girl wearing a pink shirt and trousers, a sword tied around her waist, and a robe of justice said this with some longing.
"Gion, do you want to go and have a look too? But your current strength is far from enough!"
Hearing Gion's longing words, Tsuru couldn't help but smile!
"Tsuru-nii, that's the great swordsman Yachiryu! She's so amazing! She has defeated two great swordsmen and also defeated Kaido the King of Beasts! And now she is also holding a kendo tournament on Wilbur Island in the New World! She's so amazing! Even if it's not for victory, I want to go and see her!"
Gion's two compliments in one sentence made Tsuru smile slightly.
The great swordsman Yachiryu! It would be a great decision if we could recruit her into the marines!
Unfortunately, she never responded to previous attempts to win over her, but fortunately, she didn't refuse either.
I heard that Yachiryu now has a female disciple by her side, perhaps I can impress her in this way.
At the very least, it would be good if she could be friends with the marines!
Tsuru was thinking leisurely at this moment.
"Gion-chan, what do you think if you could become Yachiryu's disciple?"
……
The New World in the second half of the Grand Line.
The sea area ruled by Whitebeard.
On Moby Dick.
"Gulala! Young people nowadays really can't be underestimated! A kendo tournament? It looks like this tournament will concern many people!"
At this time, Whitebeard was sitting on the chair.
Around him were his sons.
"Yeah! I didn't expect that Yachiryu was so strong that she could defeat Kaido, the Beast King, and even earned the title of Sword Saint! That's a title that even Oden hasn't gotten!"
Marco, who was reading the newspaper nearby, also spoke with a dead look on his face.
Oden! I haven't contacted him in years! I wonder how he is doing!
But the Great Grade Sword announced as a reward seems to be Oden's sword! Is Oden dead?
Whitebeard couldn't help but think as he listened to Marco's words.
But he didn't think much about it, and turned his gaze to Vista.
Maybe it will be clear this time!
"It seems Vista is very excited about this kendo tournament! What do you think? Do you want to participate too?"
When Marco saw Whitebeard's gaze, he also looked over and happened to see Vista's excited expression.
So he put one hand directly on Vista's shoulder and said teasingly.
"Hmm! I'm surprised that Yachiryu has the Supreme Blade. What's even more surprising is that she actually took out this treasure as a reward! Is she confident that she won't lose? Or is the Supreme Blade not important to her?"
Vista said solemnly.
Now Vista is indeed very shocked!
Pops has a supreme blade, but his sword is too big and is not suitable for swordsmen of the general public.
The Yasukawa that Yachiryu took out now is the sword that is most valued and loved by most swordsmen.
"Pops, although I am surprised at the development of this Kendo Tournament, the two big swords awarded here are Enma and Ame no Habakiri! These are the swords used by Oden!"
When Bista said this, a man in the crowd who was dressed in cross-dressing and had heart-shaped lipstick on his lips could no longer bear it.
He is Izo, a native of Wano Country. He previously served as Oden's retainer and followed Oden to join the Whitebeard Pirates.
After Oden was poached by Roger's pirate group, Izo decided to stay with his beloved Whitebeard Pirates and wait for Oden to return.
But there was no news after waiting, because Oden went straight back to Wano Country.
"Pops, Oden-sama might be in danger! I want to go back to Wano Country!"
Izo said anxiously at this point.
He also saw the newspaper report about the two great swords that were awarded as rewards at the Kendo Tournament. Those two great swords were both Oden-sama's swords, and now they appeared in the hands of the great swordsman Yachiryu.
Could it be that Oden-sama was defeated by Yachiryu, his swords were taken away, or he was even killed?
Izo thought about all the possibilities, he wanted to go back to Wano Country to take a look!
"Izo, don't worry. Wano Country is now the territory of Kaido, the King of Beasts! It will be dangerous for you to go back alone!"
Hearing Izo's words, Marco, who was standing next to Whitebeard, frowned and said calmly.
The geographical location of Wano Country is very special, and it is very difficult to go there.
If Izo went back alone, it was hard to say whether he would be able to get up there. Even if he did, how would he get down?
When Oden wanted to get out, he had to take their ship. That place is not so easy to get in and out.
Especially now that Wano Country is Kaido's territory! He is not dead yet! He was just defeated!
In addition, if Oden really died, then Izo going to Wano Country alone would definitely not end well!
"But, Oden-sama..."
Izo's anxious look, and the way he still addressed Oden respectfully, caught the eye of a man, and it was none other than Rakuyo.
He is a veteran member of the Whitebeard Pirates and also witnessed the process of Oden getting on and off the ship and Izo waiting for him.
Seeing Izo like this, Rakuyo couldn't help but get angry.
"Izo, don't call him Oden-sama. Oden didn't keep his promise! He never gave us an explanation and hasn't contacted us for so many years!"
After hearing Rakuyo's words, Izo's expression turned a little ugly.
"Gulala! Rakuyo, stop talking!"
Seeing that the atmosphere between the two was becoming somewhat tense, Whitebeard broke the deadlock with a loud laugh.
"Izo! Let's do this for now! Then you and Vista and the others can go to the Kendo tournament! Just ask Yachiryu!"
In Whitebeard's impression, Yachiru's past behavior and the fact that she was worshiped as the sword saint in Wano Country can all be used to infer that she is not a bloodthirsty person. There may be some misunderstanding!
I'll go over and ask for clarification!
The Whitebeard Pirates cannot go directly to Wano Country now.
Today's Kaido, the King of Beasts, formed an alliance with Big Mom not long ago. Even if they were defeated, this fact still exists!
If the Whitebeard Pirates go to Wano Country in person, it will involve too many people.
In addition, some of their members are still quite resentful towards Oden.
The situation is not so easy to grasp after all! Whitebeard hopes to eliminate the rift between his sons!
