The first half of the Grand Line, Marine Headquarters, Marinford.
In the conference room.
Bang!
Admiral Sengoku slammed the newspaper on the table.
He frowned and said in a deep voice.
"This guy Morgans is always causing trouble for our marines. If his remarks were to be made public, I wonder how chaotic the sea would become!"
"Hahaha! Sengoku, calm down. It would be bad if your liver gets damaged by anger!"
When Sengoku was serious, Garp was there to calm him down.
After hearing what Garp said, Sengoku felt as if there were a few more crosses on his forehead.
"Garp! Do you realize how serious the situation is? You're just laughing all day long and you're not a good person at all!"
Snap!
Snap!
With a crisp sound, Garp finished the senbei in his mouth and spoke.
"Of course I know! But you have to take your time! There's no point in being anxious. Your current mood doesn't match your status as The Resourceful General! Sengoku!"
After saying that, Garp grabbed a handful of senbei from the bag!
Seeing Garp like this, Sengoku took a deep breath!
He needs to calm down! No one wants to be told that, not by this guy Garp!
"Just as Sengoku said! The coming era will probably be even more chaotic! We need to be prepared! I propose to promote King to Admiral!"
At this time, Tsuru, who was standing next to him with her hands crossed on the table, affirmed what Sengoku said, and then casually made a suggestion that shocked everyone!
"I'm afraid this is inappropriate! Vice Admiral King doesn't have many merits right now, and he hasn't completed many missions. Besides, he has only been in the marines for a short time. It's too much to promote him to admiral now!"
Tsuru's words caused a hawkish vice admiral to immediately stand up and object.
Other vice admirals also started discussing it.
Tsuru's suggestion was too shocking for them!
Looking at the officers who were talking around!
Kong, who was sitting on the main seat, raised his hand to signal for silence!
All the marines officers in the conference room stopped their discussion and turned their eyes to Kong.
At this time, only Kong asked expressionlessly.
"Tsuru, tell me why did you suggest this!"
Hearing Kong's words, Tsuru began to respond.
"Yes, Fleet Admiral Kong!"
Then she glanced at all the officers who were looking at her, and spoke in a deep voice.
"Now, whether we like it or not, Morgans's words in this newspaper have been spread all over the world."
"It is foreseeable that the number of people who want to go out to sea as pirates will increase sharply, and..."
Tsuru picked up a cup of coffee and took a sip before continuing.
"And these people will begin to advocate violence, which means they will become even more vicious!"
"If this continues, the situation will get out of control!"
After hearing Tsuru talk about the seriousness of the situation, a vice admiral said with some doubt.
"So what does this have to do with Vice Admiral King's promotion to Admiral?"
The vice admiral's question made Tsuru shake her head, and then she began to answer.
"First, everyone has witnessed the power of Vice Admiral King! And because of the publicity of the World Economic News Agency and his second use of that power! Now his prestige among the people is very great! At the same time, it has also indirectly improved the prestige of our marines a lot!"
"Secondly, many strong men have joined our marines in this world conscription! This is the credit of Vice Admiral King, and no one can deny this!"
Tsuru's answer made everyone nod, because it was the truth.
"Thirdly, there is a vacant Admiral position at present. In this chaotic era, people will lack confidence. We can't let this position remain vacant forever!"
Having said this, Tsuru looked at Garp.
Everyone also looked at Garp, who was a little confused holding the senbei at this moment, and even the senbei he was chewing in his mouth made a little noise.
At this moment he was a little puzzled.
Why are they looking at him? It's all Kuzan and others's fault! If they had worked harder, they would have become Admirals!
"Fourthly, Vice Admiral King's prestige in the marines is also very high, especially since we have conducted three major assessments in total!"
"Many of these officers and soldiers who joined the marines during the World Recruitment did so because of King's aura. They have a high degree of recognition for officers like Vice Admiral King who also joined the World Recruitment!"
"If King can serve as the Admiral, it will boost the enthusiasm of these conscripted soldiers and their sense of identity with the marines!"
Looking at the officers around her who looked thoughtful, Tsuru continued.
"Given Vice Admiral King's current reputation and the importance of the position of marine Admiral, this promotion will definitely overshadow the momentum of this newspaper report! It will make others dare not go out to sea and become pirates so easily!"
"Especially those people who have looked up at the second blazing sun in the sky and realized how insignificant they are, in the area centered on the Marine Headquarters, Marineford, and the four seas as well as the first and second halves of the Grand Line!"
"They will greatly reduce their desire to go out to sea as pirates, and may even switch to the marines!"
"And Vice Admiral King's fiery and equal justice will surely be loved by the people. Then he will become the flag of our marines!"
When they heard the fiery and equal justice that Tsuru spoke of.
The officers also started to discuss a little, and at the same time, they cast their eyes on King, who seemed to have no expression since the meeting began.
Looking at King's solemn expression, they also admired him.
Only King was speechless.
What about the fiery and equal justice? That's just Ethan's talk.
His justice is the justice that provides food and shelter!
"To sum up, I think it is beneficial to promote Vice Admiral King to the rank of Admiral. At least it will definitely bring more benefits than disadvantages to our marines!"
After listening to Tsuru's final summary, most people nodded.
Tsuru's answer did convince most people, and even those officers who were still somewhat dissatisfied would not object.
In addition to the huge resistance, there is also the man named King.
No matter what, anyone who has seen King's power wouldn't want to offend him.
It takes courage for an ordinary officer to oppose him!
They saw that none of the officers had any intention of opposing.
Kong also nodded.
He turned his gaze to King.
"'~king, what do you think about being an Admiral?"
Seeing Fleet-Admiral Kong, asked him what he thought. King was a little distressed and he thought about it.
It would be a good thing to be able to get a higher military rank! Then he would have more officers under him, and he wouldn't have to fight! He could rest leisurely!
So should he say a few words of thanks or something like that?
When King was deep in thought.
All the officers looked at him expressionlessly without speaking.
They couldn't help but imagine it.
Does King disdain the rank of Admiral?
Sure enough, how could a man with that kind of power be affected by the promotion of marine rank!
Now it’s not a question of whether they want to promote him to Admiral, but whether he wants to be an Admiral!
Seeing that King was reluctant to speak, Kong frowned. Was he unwilling to clean up the mess for the Celestial Dragons?
Thinking about the world government's spying on King's power.
He took a deep breath and made a decision in his mind.
"King, if you are willing to be Admiral, I can exempt you from the obligations you need to make to the Celestial Dragons. I will also explain this to the Five Elders! Don't worry!"
Ah! obligations? What obligations?
After hearing what Kong said, King was confused.
But this should be a good thing! He can still distinguish between obligations and rights!
At this moment, he also realized that he had been silent for too long and everyone was looking at him.
So he couldn't think of any words of thanks and could only nod casually!
Seeing King nod, Kong also breathed a sigh of relief.
"Then I will submit King's appointment as Admiral to the World Government!"
With Kong's final decision, the meeting came to an end.
