In the wet rain and fog, the rain fell down.
It was like a layer of gauze covering the alley, and it also seemed like it was confining the people in the alley.
"Who are you?" Asuto asked through gritted teeth, "Where are my father and mother?"
"..." Faced with Asuto's question, the man's face, which was only half exposed, was full of indifference and he did not make any response.
"Hey, even if you want me to die, let me die knowingly."
Cold sweat broke out on Asuto's forehead. He tried his best to stabilize his breathing and squeezed his body hard, trying to delay a little more time.
But the man just remained silent, walking towards him with a kunai in hand, expressionless.
This performance made Asuto feel a little desperate.
Ever since he learned the breathing technique, his sense of smell for murderous intent has become more and more sensitive. The guy in front of him is definitely not someone he can deal with. Even if the other party did not choose to launch a sneak attack just now, and rushed at him head-on like he is now, he would have no chance of winning.
It would be fine if he couldn't beat him, but the other party was simply too cautious. Even when facing a kid like him, he didn't intend to say any smug nonsense, nor did he intend to play with him and kill him like a cat playing with a mouse.
There was even a distance of several meters between the two. It was like a lion fighting a rabbit, and they were fighting with all their strength, which made it impossible for Asuto, who wanted to struggle, to find any chance.
"Save……"
Asuto gritted his teeth and showed determination. He didn't care whether it would anger the guy in front of him or whether the guards would be alerted by the long distance. He just shouted with all his strength.
But in the next moment, the man who was walking towards Asuto with the kunai in his hand hidden at his waist like a snake's fang suddenly stopped, frowned, and looked over Asuto's shoulder to look behind him.
"Asuto, so you are here."
A familiar and gentle voice suddenly came from behind him, and the word "save" was stuck in Asuto's throat.
A third person appeared in the alley.
Even the man didn't notice her when she approached.
"No, Nonō-nii?"
Asuto recognized the owner of the voice at the first moment, turned his head to look behind him, and subconsciously showed a look of surprise on his face, but the next moment he reacted and his face suddenly tensed.
There was only a lonely petite figure at the entrance of the alley. Behind her was the red glow of the morning glow, which cast her face into shadow, making it impossible for Asuto to see the expression on her face.
However, the only thing that was certain was that this girl was not accompanied by anyone!
Why did she appear here?
And why did she come to this alley alone by chance?
But these were not the first questions that Asuto thought of. He just fell from hope into the abyss of despair again.
Nonō's sudden appearance didn't change anything. The only thing it changed was that there would be one more body in the alley.
“Run!”
Asuto didn't know what kind of mentality he had as he tried his best to shout out these words which were almost his last words.
Nonō's appearance may have been inappropriate, but it attracted the man's attention and gave him a chance to escape.
This was clearly his only chance to escape.
But he was so full of fear that he did not drag the person into the water like a drowning man grabbing a life-saving straw. Instead, he let out a loud roar and tears burst out of his eyes.
"Ahhhhh! Don't come over here!" Asuto cried.
Although he was shouting "Don't come over here", he gripped the bamboo sword tightly, making it feel like he was holding a hammer, and smashed it towards the man in front of him.
This meant that he gave up his only chance to escape.
It was just like the story that Kumokawa-sama told them after class, the one in which Don Quixote rushed towards the windmill with a spear in hand.
It is very foolish to overestimate one's own abilities.
And Asuto was just like Don Quixote in the story whose spear was broken by the windmill wings and flew away. The man chopped off the bamboo sword with a kunai, and the other fist hit Asuto in the face with the flying bamboo sword fragments.
Asuto's cheeks trembled like ripples, the sweat on his skin formed a circle, and he was instantly smashed away.
"puff!"
Asuto fell to the ground with a dull sound and vomited blood.
“……”
The man narrowed his eyes slightly as he looked at the kid who just spat out a mouthful of blood after being hit so hard by him that his fist felt a little painful.
Sure enough, even though there was no chakra fluctuation, if any ordinary person took this punch head on, their head would be smashed...
And this little kid, although he was crying, his strength and speed instantly doubled. And there was also the girl who appeared silently and inexplicably...
Nonō took two steps forward, but the man just stared at her, observing this strange girl.
She walked to the fat kid, bent down, reached out and held his hand and pulled him up, and said in a gentle tone: "Asuto, are you okay?"
"Nonō-nii, don't, don't worry about me, run, go find Kumokawa-sama."
Asuto shook his confused head, grabbed Nonō's wrist, and wanted to run away with her.
But the next moment, he was shocked to find that he seemed to be holding a steel bar and Nonō's feet were motionless.
"No, Nonō-nii?" Asuto subconsciously called the girl's name again, and found that the other party also responded by looking down at him.
Looking at the still beautiful face, he was sure that this was the Nonō he knew, and not someone else.
But the face that always had a gentle smile on it was now terribly cold, and her expression did not change in the face of this dangerous situation.
And at the alley where Asuto was trying to escape just now was blocked by a figure at some point.
The man was wearing a black robe, his entire face hidden in the shadows, leaving only the stubble on his chin visible. He stood there like a tombstone.
"There are actually two people?"
Being sandwiched from both sides, Asuto looked powerless and felt that despair was drowning him inch by inch.
But the man who was suspected to be a traitor of Konoha, when he saw the black shadow appear, raised his hand as if facing a formidable enemy.
"Bounty Ninja, 'Shadow'."
The figure shrouded in a black robe spoke, his voice seemed deliberately hoarse and low: "I don't want to reveal my identity. Turn around and leave now. I won't attack you."
Aren't these two people in the same group?
Asuto realized this instantly, and at the same time felt a sense of disobedience.
Why does the voice of that man in black robe sound familiar?
"...You are a bounty ninja too? How troublesome."
The tone of Shadow finally fluctuated a little, and the coldness and fear in his eyes increased by two times. After a moment of silence, he cautiously compromised and said, "I need information. Two little kids, give me one... I want the fat guy."
When Asuto was called, his body suddenly stiffened. In contrast, Nonō next to him still had a blank expression.
"You want him?"
The man in black robe glanced at Asuto, then looked at Shadow, nodded and said indifferently: "You made a good choice."
As soon as the words were spoken, the entire alley fell silent.
It was not an illusion, but a real dead silence.
The sound of raindrops all around suddenly stopped at this moment.
"What, what happened?"
Subconsciously looking around, Asuto shivered slowly.
Countless drops of rain floated in the air, as if they had lost the restraint of gravity and were stagnant.
On each irregular dark raindrop, a pair of scarlet vertical pupils were reflected, and there were only three words engraved on those vertical pupils.
——“Upper Rank” and “Five”.
Each drop of rain seemed to have life. They began to gather into the shape of dragons and snakes, lingering and wandering. Controlled by a strange force, they continued to gather together, and countless drops began to merge into one.
But this does not increase their volume. After hundreds of water droplets gather into one drop, the volume remains unchanged. The only thing that changes is its color.
It changed from its original clear and transparent color to inky black, hovering like a black snake around the man in black robe.
"Blood Demon Art."
The man in black robe tilted his head to look at the "shadow" in the distance, raised his right index finger and said indifferently: "Heavy water."
The moment something strange happened around it, "Shadow" sensed the danger sweeping from top to bottom.
The biological instinct for survival made him take action. His face changed drastically, and he formed seals with his hands and sank directly into the ground!
Facts have proved that his approach was correct.
Boom!!
A stream of water as dark as ink fell from the sky and crashed down onto the spot where he had been standing.
The ground of the entire alley collapsed in an instant, and the cracks in the ground extended from the starting point to the end!
This horrifying scene was enough to show how heavy the blow was. If a person was hit, even his bones would be shattered into pieces and squeezed into the flesh.
"This……"
The sound waves, water flows, and splashing of rubble made Asuto stagger to the ground in amazement.
What kind of technique is this?
Water release technique? Shadow technique?
Looking at the black water droplets in the air, his first feeling was that these things should not be light. As it turned out, these things were indeed not light, and they were heavy to an unimaginable degree.
And the shadow of the "shadow" could not be found. It looked like it had merged into the ground like entering the water!
For a moment, Asuto didn't know whether he should be shocked by the strange black water flow or the weird way the "shadow" disappeared.
"Sure enough, just as the intelligence said, the Nara clan's variant shadow technique."
The man in black robe was not surprised. He glanced at the place where the "shadow" disappeared and murmured something in a low voice.
Immediately, he looked in Asuto's direction and suddenly said, "Lower your head."
Asuto, who had just gotten up, was stunned for a moment, but Nonō beside him did not, and directly pressed his head down.
The next moment, a ball of black water whistled directly over their heads.
BANG!!
A deafening explosion sounded, and a terrifying impact came from behind, directly blowing both of them away.
"Well."
After falling to the ground, Asuto groaned in pain all over.
But now he couldn't care about all these. He looked at the place where he had stood before with a look of fear on his face. At this moment, there was only fear in his heart.
Because there was only a deep pit left there.
The black water flowed like a heavy hammer hitting the ground, slowly flowing back from the deep pit and gathering again.
If he hadn't lowered his head just now, it would have hit him directly on the head.
If this were true, his brain would probably be smashed into the wall and couldn't be dug out even with a shovel.
"That guy wants to kill..."
Asuto was about to say something with a horrified look on his face, but Nonō beside him suddenly pulled him back.
Swoosh!
There was a sharp and piercing sound, and he staggered and turned his head, and then he was frightened to death.
From the shadow behind him, a hand holding a kunai reached out.
It was this thing that pierced his back!
It turned out that the man in black robe didn't want to kill him, on the contrary, he was trying to save him.
This time, Asuto knew what to do without Nonō's help.
He fell down in a somewhat embarrassed manner, and the next moment, black water rushed over him like a waterfall and hit the shadow on the wall.
Boom!!
The entire alley was filled with the roar of explosive tags exploding, but Shadow had already dived into the ground when he saw Blackwater coming, causing the wall to take the horrific blow!
"Get away from me."
This time, Asuto happened to be kneeling at the feet of the man in black robe, but the man in black robe didn't even lower his head. When Asuto was about to raise his head, he was kicked away mercilessly.
"You……"
After rolling a few times, Asuto's face turned red, but he kept his mouth shut obediently.
The ability of that "shadow" is so strange. No one knows where it is hiding, but it can pop out and stab him at any time and anywhere.
Therefore, he could only trust this mysterious and terrifying man in black robe now.
"But why does that guy smell more and more familiar?"
Asuto wrinkled his nose, but didn't notice that a figure suddenly emerged in the shadow under his feet.
It was the bounty ninja known as "Shadow".
And at this moment, the "shadow" has also realized it.
This mission doesn't seem to be that simple. The man in black robe is not from the same group at all. He is clearly protecting the little fat man. He is obviously from the City of Dawn.
In this case, the best strategy is to take him as a hostage and run away.
Thinking of this, "Shadow" looked slightly cold and raised the kunai in his hand, about to clamp it around the fat boy's neck.
But in the next moment, a sneer suddenly sounded in the quiet alley.
"Blood Demon Art: Water Prison!"
As soon as the words fell, the "Shadow" had no time to react before the black water stream swallowed him up, leaving him suspended in the water ball.
"Huh!"
"Shadow" choked on the water. His throat and lungs seemed to be clogged with mud, causing his face to show pain and ferocity. He subconsciously swung the kunai in his hand with force, trying to break through the water prison that trapped him.
However, in front of the sharp blade, the originally very soft water flow became extremely heavy at this moment, completely consuming the power of the "shadow".
This scene caused fear to flash across Shadow's eyes.
"Sure enough, it's just as Kumokawa-sama said."
The black-robed man slowly turned around and looked at the "shadow" who was struggling but powerlessly. He said in a dark voice: "You ninjas from big countries, even the rebels, are all equally arrogant."
"Why do you think we don't know the principles of your ninjutsu? You are a rebel ninja from the Nara clan of Konoha, and you have the secret technique of hiding in the shadows of others."
