"...Really, really?"
After listening to Mito's explanation, Tsunade remained silent for a long time. Although she recognized the feasibility in her heart, she still said uneasily: "Is it really okay?"
She now looks like a child who was afraid of injections and refused to take them when she was sick, but got a promise from her mother to "get candy after the injection."
"Of course it's true."
Seeing Tsunade's childish behavior, Mito wiped her face with her sleeves and said with a smile:
"Tsunade, as you got older and older, you started to stop listening to me. You always got impatient and ran away after hearing my words, but now you seem to be a cute child, crying like a little cat.”
Mito's non-hypocritical teasing words made Tsunade feel much more relaxed, her cheeks became as red as her eye circles, she sniffed and tightened the necklace around her neck.
This necklace is a relic of her grandfather Senju Hashirama. It is a very special and rare chakra crystal. It contains the chakra that Hashirama had sealed during his lifetime. It has the power to suppress tailed beasts to a certain extent.
She once gave this necklace to her brother Nawaki as a birthday gift. Nawaki was inspired to learn the origin of the necklace and vowed to become Hokage.
But, on the second day after his birthday.
Nawaki died in the explosive tags trap. After his death, he was completely unrecognizable. We could only identify his body because of the necklace.
"Nawaki swore to be Hokage because of a necklace. That kid was really naive."
Feeling the warmth of the necklace in her hand, Tsunade lowered her head and smiled bitterly and said softly: "But I don't seem to be qualified to say such things now..."
Although Hokage's position is still far away from her now, she also understands that what her grandma said is true.
Judging from the reactions before and after the destruction of the Land of Whirlpool, regardless of whether the high-level officials were involved in this matter, it can be seen that everyone in Konoha is now in danger.
As the Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen is wary of the ninjas, and those ninjas can no longer trust the top management of Konoha.
Tsunade originally thought that even if she took the position of Hokage, she would just be like her teacher and still be unable to do anything.
However, after listening to Mito's explanation, she found that this was not the case.
Perhaps, it was not the Hokage who was incompetent, but the Third Hokage, her teacher, Sarutobi Hiruzen.
We just need someone to lead us forward, as long as we move in a good direction, instead of being hostile to each other and standing still.
Just doing this is enough, right?
"Grandma."
Tsunade raised her head, took a breath, and asked in a low voice, "What should I do?"
She still had no interest in the Hokage position and didn't know if she could do better than her teacher, but if this was what grandma wanted to see...
Then she wanted to give it a try.
"Just lie down and be patient."
Mito patted the hospital bed under her, with a gentle and kind smile on her old face: "It will be fine soon, just have a sleep."
After hesitating for a moment, Tsunade nodded, lay on the hospital bed obediently, and slowly closed her eyes.
The smile on Mito's face gradually faded a lot. She formed a hand seal and used a genjutsu on Tsunade, and saw her slightly trembling eyelids calm down.
Immediately, Mito turned to look at Kushina, who had been silent, with guilt, pity, and regret in her eyes.
"Kushina."
She sighed deeply and tiredly, as if she was about to breathe out her last breath, touched Kushina's messy red hair, and said softly: "Tsunade will protect you after I leave."
After that, looking at the girl's slightly confused and sad face, Mito stretched out her arms to hold her in her arms, closed her eyes and said: "Hide well, don't be discovered, and then grow up quickly, you and I are different.”
Kushina is still "Kushina Uzumaki", but Mito is no longer "Mito Uzumaki".
Watching the death of her old friends and the destruction of her hometown, she knew clearly who the murderer was, but she was not qualified to avenge them because of her position, and allowed the darkness to spread deep in this big tree.
Powerlessness, guilt, regret, pain, entanglement, fear…
She was so tired.
The only thing she can do now is to divide her hope into two parts, one for her husband's Konoha, and one for the future of Whirlpool.
Yes, the future of Uzumaki.
Kushina's last name is "Uzumaki", not the "Uzumaki" of Konoha, but the "Uzumaki" of the Land of Whirlpool.
"At least, you don't need to bear any ill will and can grow up in peace."
Mito slowly opened her eyes, a trace of pain flashed in her eyes, and whispered: "When the day you know the truth, no matter what your final choice is, no one is qualified to blame you."
"Konoha and I owe you this."
After that, she slowly stood up and placed Kushina, who fell asleep due to the genjutsu in her arms, on another hospital bed.
Apart from apologizing and escaping with death, this was the last thing she could do.
Mito turned to look at Yakushi Nonō, forced a smile and said: "Finally, I have to trouble you to take care of this child."
"It doesn't matter. There is already a little demon at home, and he can have a companion now."
Yakushi Nonō just smiled and shook her head, and said with some respect in her tone: "Then in the end, I hope you can get the peace and comfort you want."
Peace and comfort?
The relief and tiredness in Mito's eyes disappeared fleetingly. She nodded and put her hand on her abdomen. Her mind sank and she entered the sealed space in her body.
When she opened her eyes again, she saw vastness and desolation.
There is only one lava sphere hanging in the sky, emitting turbulent heat like the sun.
This is not a different dimension, but the mental world of chakra.
Mito can clearly feel that compared to the last time she came here, the enthusiasm is obviously much lighter.
The seal, which had been reinforced many times and was unbreakable, had cracks due to the previous loss of control.
"Hoho, Mito, you actually dare to come here."
A voice filled with hatred and joy came to Mito, who looked up and met those vertical pupils full of violence.
Faced with Kyuubi's provocation, Mito's response was simple.
Kaka!
Mito clenched her fists expressionlessly, her finger muscles made crisp sounds.
Hearing this voice that Kyuubi had not heard for many years but was still familiar to it, it was obviously tied to the magma ball with chains in the shape of a "big" character, but it shivered violently as if it was stressed.
"You!" It stared at Mito with its eyes and bared its teeth in a threatening manner, "What are you going to do?"
Damn it! Why did this woman wake up so quickly?
Considering Mito's severely damaged mental state at the time, coupled with the chakra and body drained by it, she should have been in a coma for at least a month or two.
The seal is obviously loose. If it was given a little more time, it could escape directly!
"Kyuubi, I came to you to borrow some chakra."
Mito whispered as she walked over, and the lava balls in the air also fell.
