🕑 Added 2024-08-26 12:31:01 +0000 UTCChapter 144 The deal between Tsuyu and Sunagakure
In the land of rain, it is late and the rain is pouring.
Thick black clouds coiled over the port like pythons.
There was no thunder in the downpour, just dead silence, and the wind from far to near made waves in the port, making the small wooden boats huddled in the port like rootless duckweeds creaking.
In this dark sky, only a horizontal beam of light shot out, as if it had been blown taut and straight by the wind.
"Ahem, this broken thing will smash you sooner or later!"
On the top of the tall lighthouse, the man who climbed up coughed due to the wind and cursed the manual clockwork device to turn the lens system that concentrated the light.
The dark wind and the white and spicy rain made his face turn red, and even a lightweight boat could be swept up into the sky by waves and hurricanes.
There is no way anyone would risk their lives and choose to go out and enter the port in this kind of horrible weather.
Naturally, there is no need for a lighthouse to serve as a fixed luminous navigation beacon and act as a watchman to guide non-existent ships to sail to the port.
However, lighthouses are not just for lighting.
It symbolizes "hope" and "home" at the same time. It is the way for this weeping country to declare its sovereignty and guide people lost at sea to find their way home.
"Finally done."
The soaked man wiped the rain off his face, took a deep breath and stood up.
But when he watched the stagnant light beam rotate again, a smile appeared on his face full of vicissitudes of life.
A figure suddenly appeared in the field of view behind him, with only the upper half of his face showing in his eyes without any fluctuation, and he mercilessly waved the kunai in his hand at the man in front of him.
Poof!
Blood splattered on the mirror surface of the lens, making the originally bright beam of light emitted by the lighthouse dyed with deep darkness and scarlet.
After a while, the figure came under the lighthouse and saw the person waiting there.
The lighthouse room behind him was lit with yellow lamps, and the figure shrouded in a wide black robe was extremely tall. He seemed to be more than three meters tall and nearly four meters tall.
The light dragged his black shadow to the ground, and strong wind poured into the black robe from all the gaps, which seemed to highlight his impatience at this time.
Not daring to take another look, he lowered his head and said respectfully: "Hiruko-sama, it's solved."
"……Um."
After a moment of silence, an angry reply came from the mouth of the man known as "Hiruko", who said impatiently: "Let people go up and watch, I want to see when they come."
"Yes."
The men left in response. Hiruko, who was completely covered in black robes, turned his head back. Under the moonlight, the empty white mask was clearly revealed.
Bang bang! Bang bang!
Even if you stand under a tall lighthouse and the heavy rain is thrown by the wind, your face will still hurt and turn white.
But he seemed to have no feelings. Looking at the sea that was constantly making waves, a strong irritability arose in his heart.
He had already made up his mind.
After today's task of earning merit is completed, I will never accept this kind of troublesome thing in the future, no matter what the old woman Chiyo says.
If this mission hadn't been very profitable, as a puppet master, he wouldn't have carried out the mission in this weather even if he died.
In fact, as early as two days ago, when they learned about the weather changes here, they wanted to change the trading time and location.
But the guy selling medicine directly rejected the proposal and asked them to continue trading at the same time and place on the grounds that "heavy rainstorms are more concealed."
"Sure enough, when we get that bastard here with the goods, we'll kill him and pretend it's a shipwreck." Hiruko said to himself crazily.
The trading time they agreed with the drug dealer was almost here, but in this terrible weather, I hope that guy hasn't been completely lost at sea and can find the place to trade.
Bang!!
Just as he was thinking wildly, there was a roar of water waves crashing and breaking.
Even in the storm, it was still so deafening.
The signal sound coming from the Sand Ninja on the lighthouse was blocked. Both Hiruko and the Sand Ninja hiding in the darkness couldn't help but feel their hearts skip a beat, and they both subconsciously looked towards the source of the sound.
They saw a huge black shadow crushing over the dark sea water.
The big waves and storms were torn apart by the anchor-like bow of the black giant, and then it was pressed under the steel giant with its incredible horsepower.
The bright navigation lights are as dazzling as a lighthouse, tearing through the darkness of the rainy night and shrouding Hiruko standing under the lighthouse.
It's unimaginable that in such horrible weather, there are people who are not afraid of death who dare to sail, but when Hiruko saw the giant ship, he had no idea of questioning whether the other party could do it.
"...Huh, that's interesting."
Looking at the unheard-of, over-the-top giant ship, Hiruko under the mask couldn't help but let out a cold snort. It was as if cold water had been poured on his anxious heart, and he calmed down instantly and began to think secretly.
According to the information collected by the village, although the drug dealer's strength and connections were very strong and extensive, his fleet definitely did not meet this standard.
It's like the technical level suddenly rose to a new level out of thin air.
Hiruko couldn't help but start to wonder whether the other party's identity was a drug dealer.
Boom!
Just as he was thinking, the anchor was thrown from the docked ship, and the huge splash was swallowed by the sea. Ship successfully landed and anchored at the port.
It's not like a ship swaying helplessly in the wind and rain like weeds in the distance.
This huge ship came through the night, heavy rain and waves. It was docked quietly at the harbor like a lying giant. The waves and wind and rain could not shake its majestic body at all.
Snap!
A figure seemed to jump directly from the deck of the ship. Seeing this scene, Hiruko felt a little more cautious in his heart.
"Ninja? Not the drug dealer? Or maybe it's the bounty ninja he hired?"
Although he has a cruel and tyrannical character, the only reason why he has survived to this day and become a puppet master second only to Chiyo and considers himself to be no weaker than Domu couple is that he cherishes his life enough and is cautious enough.
However, after getting off the boat, the figure in the distance raised one hand to shield it from the wind and rain, and took out a strong flashlight with the other hand to flash a signal at a certain frequency.
Three long and one short, two short and one long, repeat the cycle.
Only then did Hiruko confirm the identity of the other party. The body that was tense and making strange noises suddenly relaxed, and he also made a gesture to the men on the lighthouse.
The figure soon saw the corresponding signal flashing from the lighthouse coming towards this side. Soon, Hiruko, who was standing under the lighthouse, saw a figure wearing a black raincoat walking through the dim rain curtain.
"Sorry sorry."
While thinking about it, Hiruko saw the man scratching his head and apologizing sincerely: "I ran into some trouble, so I was late. I'm sorry to keep you waiting for so long."
Hearing the very polite and humble apology from the guy in front of him, Hiruko couldn't figure out what kind of person he was for a while.
In order to avoid being spotted by anyone, this operation was kept strictly confidential.
Therefore, they did not use Sunagakure's official identity, but communicated through the black market as individuals.
Generally speaking, when two parties who do not know the details of each other are conducting a transaction, the other party should exert the pressure that a local snake should have to show that one of them is not easy to mess with, so as to reduce the possibility of the big fish eating the small fish or the bad guy.
But the other party's opening statement of direct apology...
It will only make you lose your advantageous position and put you in a weak and declining position, and it will also easily arouse the greed of the other party.
"Huh?" the man asked with some confusion, "Sir, how come you..."
"Where's the thing I want?" Before the other party could finish his words, Hiruko interrupted him directly.
"Ah? You want to see things as soon as we meet. Do the merchants of the Land of Wind do business so directly?"
The man's expression was a little stunned, but he soon smiled and said, "It's raining heavily today, no one will notice it, so don't worry so much."
"Yes, it's raining heavily."
Hiruko nodded and repeated his words, his voice suddenly turned cold: "So, I'm not here to talk nonsense with you in such a heavy rain."
"I will give you the money you want, and you will give me the goods I want. After the transaction is completed, we will leave. This is what we should do now, instead of letting me watch you getting close!"
Faced with Hiruko's cold tone and the intimidating power of his tall body, the man subconsciously took a step back, as if he was frightened and a little timid.
"Okay, okay, the weather is bad today and everyone is very anxious. This is normal. Please don't do anything."
He raised his hand decisively, showing weakness again, and changed the topic: "But, can you let me see your money?"
Hearing this, Hiruko looked at the Sand Ninja behind him who was disguised as an ordinary person, and tilted his head slightly.
Bang!
Several boxes were lifted out of the lighthouse, and they were smashed to the ground with a muffled sound and a smell of oil.
Ordinary people might not be able to see what was inside the box, but the man knew it, so he subconsciously took a step forward with excitement.
The sand ninjas standing next to the box suddenly tensed up. They didn't know whether to step forward to stop him or to directly pick up the guy and stop him.
"Let him inspect the goods. Anyway, I'm standing here and he can't take them away." Hiruko snorted coldly.
Hearing this, the sand ninjas who were originally blocking the front stepped aside, revealing a large dark brown box behind them.
"Then thank you for your trust."
The man thanked him politely and walked to the box. Suddenly, a short knife appeared in his hand, and he slowly cut it along the seal of the box.
Seeing this scene, Hiruko unconsciously became cautious.
He didn't notice where the other party hid a weapon, or even how the other party suddenly took it out.
Click, click.
The short knife was inserted halfway into the box, and the man tilted it open to reveal the white money inside.
"That's enough!"
Before he could take another look, Hiruko walked in front of him and repeated in an impatient tone: "Where is what I want?"
And through the dim light of the room in the lighthouse at this moment, he could clearly see the plain and honest face of the other party.
If I remember correctly, the other party's name seems to be...
Tsuyu?
The appearance matched the one in the intelligence, but it was different from what the intelligence said. The other person didn't seem to be an ordinary person.
But after all, he is also a drug dealer, and he actually comes to conduct transactions in person. It seems that there is no protection at all.
Could a businessman who has built such a big business really be so unwise?
Is he really stupid? Or are you pretending?
"Good."
Tsuyu showed a harmless smile on his face, and used the flashlight in his hand to signal behind him.
Then he turned to look at Hiruko and said with a slight smile: "I have already contacted my companions on the ship. They will arrive here soon with what you want."
Hiruko frowned and then realized the truth.
The seemingly honest drug dealer in front of me is indeed not a real talker. He just came to the port to tread water in advance.
After seeing that he had the ability to pay, he decided to inform the real person on the ship and continue the transaction?
"It's really troublesome." Although Hiruko was impatient, he could only wait.
After all, this batch of supplies is too important to Sunagakure today, and even he cannot mess it up.
Even if you want to kill the guy in front of you impatiently, you have to wait until the goods are available before taking action...
"Coming."
Suddenly the voice of the person came from in front of him, and Hiruko subconsciously looked up.
The light beam from the lighthouse overhead was cast downward by the Sand Ninja, covering the originally black ground with pale color.
Under the reflection of the light, Hiruko could clearly see the figure walking on foot in the rain curtain.
It turned out to be a very young boy. Even if the gentle temperament of the other person slightly concealed the youthful taste, the childishness in his bones could still be seen.
Following him was a more immature boy, carrying a sword behind his back, the length of which was almost the same as his height, which looked a little funny.
Seeing this, Hiruko looked sharply at Tsuyu, who was still honest standing in front of him. The anger he had held in for a long time burst out in his heart at this moment, and said in a cold tone: "Are you kidding me?"
Hearing this, Tsuyu glanced at him with some doubts, as if he didn't understand why he said that, and then walked up to the man and said respectfully: "Kumokawa-sama, there is no problem."
"Well, thank you for your hard work, Uncle Tsuyu."
Kumokawa was wearing a black raincoat. While he nodded slightly, some raindrops that gathered on the tip of his forehead fell.
His gentle voice was indeed a little crisp, which was completely consistent with his young face. Hiruko was once again sure that the other person was a brat!
But the drug dealer was so respectful to this brat, which made Hiruko tense up his body with some caution, and the chakra refined in his body began to surge up.
"Kid, you..."
But Kumokawa seemed to ignore his intention, and his eyes passed directly over Hiruko in front of him and fell on the boxes behind him.
Reflecting those blue eyes, those sand ninjas felt an inexplicable chill in their hearts and subconsciously avoided their sight.
But the chill seemed to come from deep within their souls, making them seem to be nailed to the spot with no way out.
