"Huh..."
Rasa's eyelids trembled slightly, and his consciousness gradually woke up from the long nightmare.
He didn't know where he was. The moment before he lost consciousness, there was only one thought left in his mind.
—I want to live.
Since he is still conscious, does that mean he survived?
Rasa felt that he was now in a closed space. Lying on the bed with his eyelids closed facing the ceiling.
"Huh...chi..."
He subconsciously took a breath through his nose, but felt that the temperature of the air was very hot.
Inhaled into the nasal cavity, along the respiratory tract, burning the lungs.
Rasa suddenly opened his eyes filled with pain. The light reflected in his eyes almost stung his eyes. He even felt dizzy and even nauseous. He subconsciously raised his hands to block the hot light.
"Ahem! Ho! Ahem!!"
His face was distorted and he coughed hard, but there was a hissing sound in his lungs, as if he would die immediately.
But just when he raised his hand in front of his eyes, Rasa, who was originally at a loss, saw the several transparent thin tubes in front of him and felt the foreign body sensation in his body.
"I advise you not to breathe hard or cough violently." Someone said.
Rasa heard the hoarse voice next to him, his eyes filled with pain widened, and he turned his head to see Chiyo sitting next to him.
It was seen that Chiyo's neck had been sutured, and medicine and gauze were applied for protection.
Although the handling method at the time was extremely rough, with her superb level of medical ninjutsu and the support of Sunagakure's medical system, it seems that there is no serious problem now.
In contrast, Rasa's situation is not optimistic.
"..."
After hearing Chiyo's words, Rasa opened his mouth and struggled to pronounce it.
But in that pervasive poisonous gas, not to mention his vocal cords, even his entire lungs were severely damaged.
Therefore, the words he spoke with all his strength were breathy. Chiyo tried hard to identify what he was saying, and finally managed to make out a few Mohu words: "I...how...ahem! Ho!"
His breathing became extremely labored, and his throat and lungs stung.
It felt like there was something that he couldn't cough out. It was choking his trachea and causing his brain to start to lack oxygen. He felt a deep sense of suffocation after just a few words.
His heartbeat became clearer and clearer, as if it was impacting his eardrums and brain.
"Is it really still reluctant?"
Seeing that he could only say a few words despite all his efforts, and then began to cough painfully, Chiyo couldn't help but shake her head and sighed deeply, confirming the answer she didn't want to admit.
"Stop talking yet." She stopped Rasa, who was struggling to say something, and said calmly, "It is now three days after Hanzo's attack, which means you have been in a coma for more than two days."
"Progressive interstitial pulmonary fibrosis, severely impaired gas exchange, and multiple organ failure including the lungs. It can be said to be a completely fatal injury. You should have died on the way back to the village, but your desire to survive and luck saved you. ”
Chiyo briefly talked about the most critical injury on Rasa's body, and looked at the several chaotic and orderly transparent trachea on his body, as well as the puppet mechanical device making clicking sounds in his body.
"I used all the puppet-making skills and medical ninjutsu I have learned in my life on you, and then I reluctantly created this artificial breathing device that can assist or even replace lung breathing."
"As for this, it is the intensive care unit of Sunagakure Hospital. Ten hours ago, you barely escaped from the life-threatening situation, but..."
Click... click...
Hearing footsteps coming from outside the ward, Chiyo stopped talking in the middle.
The Third Kazekage in white robe appeared at the door of the ward, his expressionless, dusty face was full of solemnity.
He stood at the door and looked into the ward, and saw Chiyo looking at him silently, and also saw Rasa, whose eyes had no luster.
After a few seconds of silence, Chiyo said to him, "He just woke up."
The Third Kazekage sighed in his heart, walked to Rasa's bedside, touched his head and said calmly: "Speak less and remember to drink more water. You lost too much blood, you have to drink something."
"First heal your injuries, and then you can vent your hatred, and take revenge on those guys."
There was no response from Rasa, because he was unable to answer now.
Not to mention responding, even breathing requires all his strength, and even staying alive is not an easy task.
He just lay there motionless, staring straight at the white ceiling of the ward, his eyes gradually losing their luster and becoming dim, like an empty shell that had lost its soul, indifferent to the comfort of the Third Kazekage.
But it was obvious that the Third Kazekage was not here to hold him to account. In any case, Rasa's silence was reasonable. He could not correct or intervene, and could only feel sympathy and regret for this.
The Third Kazekage glanced at Chiyo, and Chiyo followed him out of the ward in a clear voice.
Creak.
The Third Kazekage looked back at Rasa for the last time. Seeing his confused and helpless eyes, he couldn't help but sigh and closed the door. He turned to look at Chiyo and asked tentatively: "Elder Chiyo, Rasa is now..."
"Hanzo's poison is very difficult, and the antidote cannot be made in a short time. I can only remove it as much as possible through surgery, but there is still some residue in Rasa's body."
Chiyo shook her head with a heavy expression and said in a hoarse voice: "An ordinary person would have died from such injuries long ago... I have to admit that this kid's desire to live is really strong."
But she didn't know whether it was luck or misfortune.
He survived but he ended up becoming a useless cripple.
It was like falling from the sky into the abyss, which makes me feel pitiful just thinking about it.
"No, it's all thanks to you, Elder Chiyo." The Third Kazekage sighed, suddenly paused, and looked at her deeply, "That puppet mechanical device, if I read it correctly..."
"Yes, it's what you thought." Chiyo glanced at the Third Kazekage lightly, and said with a slightly helpless tone, "The forbidden technique that was sealed after the Second Kazekage developed it."
The Second Kazekage Shamon was an amazingly talented person. In the eyes of everyone in Sunagakure, he was not inferior to the Second Hokage Senju Tobirama of Konohagakure Village.
He devoted himself to the study of One-Tailed Shukaku and sealing techniques, and continued to develop many basic ninjutsus. He was also the ancestor of puppetry and sand manipulation techniques.
In the process of developing the puppet technique, Shamon, like Senju Tobirama, encountered the "taboo" of ninjutsu.
——Human puppet production and control.
One is to turn puppets into people.
The other is to turn people into puppets.
However, the technology of turning puppets into humans has been lost, and Chiyo only inherited the technology of turning people into puppets.
The human puppet can retain the appearance of his life, and can use all the ninjutsu he had in life, including the bloodline limit in the concept.
This technique is indeed very powerful, but it is too evil.
Once it is obtained and used by someone with deep greed, there will be endless troubles. If it spreads widely, it will cause turmoil in Sunagakure and even the shinobi world.
Therefore, Chiyo has always insisted on sealing the production and control methods of human puppets, hoping to bring them into the coffin.
But when she saw Rasa hanging on the operating table but still trying to survive, she still didn't harden her heart after all.
Even so, the best she could do was to keep Rasa alive.
It was almost impossible to continue being a ninja.
Even with the assistance of a breathing device, every breath will be painful and he will be unable to perform any strenuous activities, which is very fatal to a ninja.
Thinking of this, Chiyo couldn't help but frown, glared at the Third Kazekage, and said coldly: "I have already said that there are some things that puppets cannot replace. The cultivation of medical ninja is equally important as the development of medical ninjutsu."
"If you could have listened to me earlier and stop favoring the militarized development of puppetry and increase your investment in the development of medical ninjutsu."
"Then An old woman like me, who had no idea how long she will live, wouldn't need to break my moral bottom line!"
The Third Kazekage choked for a moment, and a slight sneer appeared on his expressionless face. He looked around and said, "Elder Chiyo, you will definitely live a long life."
"Hmph." Chiyo just snorted coldly, not intending to express her gratitude at all, "I am already an old woman with half a foot in the coffin board. Don't even think about asking me to break through the bottom line to help you do this kind of thing again."
For her, living long is not a good thing, and she doesn't want to lose her reputation before she dies.
Although as a medical ninja, she is stronger than many young people.
"Okay, when we win the war, we will definitely follow your suggestions and increase investment in medical technology and talents."
The Third Kazekage promised solemnly on the surface, but in his heart he did not take Chiyo's words to heart.
If something like this happens once, it will happen a second time.
His moral bottom line is not as high as that of the Second Kazekage and Chiyo. As long as it can improve Sunagakure's strength, it doesn't matter whether it is a forbidden technique or not.
Sunagakure's puppet army is still too weak...
After this incident, he saw the weakness of the puppet army.
—that is, the puppet master himself.
No matter how powerful the puppet he holds is, the puppet master himself is extremely fragile. He will be helpless when encountering poisonous gas and has no ability to resist someone like Hanzo.
The "Human Puppet" can perfectly solve this problem.
What's more, isn't the best candidate right in front of me?
The Third Kazekage looked at the declining Rasa in the ward through the glass wall, with a hint of deep meaning flashing in his eyes.
How could a genius who received so much attention and admiration be willing to become a useless person?
Any little bit of hope is a life-saving straw for him now, and he will hold on to it.
What's more, after spending a lot of energy and time cultivating a disciple, I can't just watch him be wasted like this.
Ninjas who possess the Bloodline Limit: Magnetic Release are very rare. Apart from him, the Third Kazekage, there is only Rasa.
"What are you going to do next?" Chiyo suddenly asked.
The Third Kazekage came to his senses, shook his head and said: "Iwagakure sent me a message, hoping that we would not withdraw our troops and continue to maintain the status quo of containing Konoha and the Land of Rain, but we still need to hold a meeting to discuss before we can decide."
On the Land of River front, the ninjas of Sunagakure and Konoha were still conducting probing attacks with small groups of combat troops, maintaining a tepid stalemate.
Although both sides suffered losses, and Sunagakure's losses were greater, fortunately, these losses were still within the tolerance of Sunagakure, and they would not be traumatic.
After all, no matter how strong White Fang is, he is only one person in the end. He is not good at cooperation and can only fight alone.
If he is surrounded by too many sand ninjas, he can also be killed.
But the situation in the Land of Rain is completely different. They had a slight advantage before, but after Hanzo came forward, they were completely passive, even if the Domu couple were transferred there.
That guy is a living "poisonous weapon" that is invincible on the battlefield. Every time he takes action, it will cause large casualties to Sunagakure.
"We can't delay it any longer." Chiyo shook her head and frowned, "That old guy Onoki is planning to wait until we are exhausted before he comes out to pick peaches."
As a peer with a similar age, she is very familiar with Onoki.
The old guy was very hostile to Konoha, but he would not take action just because of his own selfish desires. He was a person who would do whatever he could.
He was patient enough and waited until the end before taking action.
"I understand, but there's nothing I can do." The Third Kazekage sighed, "After several bargainings, Iwagakure promised us that they would pay for bounty ninjas to assist us in facing the Land of Rain, so it counts as help."
The Iwagakure Village under the leadership of Onoki focuses on ninjutsu, land development and utilization, and has always focused on its own development.
Unlike Kumogakure, which is known for being domineering and unreasonable, in order to avoid its own internal losses as much as possible, Iwagakure often hires bounty ninjas to do dirty work, so that it can defend itself even if it is discovered.
"As for the battlefield in the Land of River..."
At this point, the Third Kazekage suddenly paused.
Chiyo looked up subconsciously, but her heart skipped a beat.
She saw deep malice in those eyes, as if there was fire burning, not fierce or majestic, but just a quiet swaying.
The other party doesn't care what those fires will ignite or burn.
Because until the end, he will drag the entire ninja world into a tragic battlefield. At that time, there will be no place to escape from the blazing fire, and no place that will not be used as fuel to fuel the fire.
There is no doubt that the Third Kazekage planned to use the tailed beasts while Konoha's Jinchuriki was in a coma.
Even if it results in the death of Bunpuku the one-tailed jinchuriki, he won't hesitate.
"You..." Chiyo doubted whether Shamon made the right choice to hand over the position of the Third Kazekage to him. After all, the other party's madness even seemed a bit unexpected to her.
But just when she was about to say something, The Third Kazekage suddenly interrupted her.
"By the way, Elder Chiyo."
The Third Kazekage suppressed the coldness in his eyes, looked at Chiyo and narrowed his eyes slightly: "Why is there no news about the medicines and supplies you purchased until now?"
Hearing this, Chiyo couldn't help showing a look of astonishment and blurted out: "How is that possible?"
According to the agreed time, they should be back!
