Crash!
At the border of the Land of Wind and Rain, in the camp where the Sand Village was stationed, the curtain of the tent was lifted.
It was almost dawn outside, but the tent was already brightly lit.
Looking at the light purple-haired woman who was beginning to show signs of aging, everyone in the tent stood up respectfully and said in unison: "Good morning, Lady Chiyo!"
"Good morning, everyone."
Chiyo walked to the conference table and pulled out a chair, but after greeting, she did not sit down. Instead, she looked at the brown-haired boy sitting in the corner and said with a smile, "Rosa, I didn't expect the Third Kazekage to be willing to send you here."
After that, she suddenly paused, looked at Rasa's youthful yet calm face, and said with some emotion: "If I remember correctly, you are already thirteen years old this year, right? You are indeed old enough to go to the battlefield."
"But I remember the last time I saw you, you were only ten years old, and you were followed by Karura, panning for gold everywhere, Hahaha."
The Third Kazekage sent this beloved disciple to her, obviously intending for her to help take care of him a little.
After all, the Land of River is a scattered team stationed in complex terrain, and it is very difficult to protect one person.
In contrast, the terrain of the Land of Rain is flat, and large forces are fighting, so it is not easy for the enemy to attack the rear.
However, Pakura, who is of the same generation and period as Rasa, also possesses a bloodline limit, does not have such treatment and can only go to the battlefield in the Land of River.
Thinking of this, Chiyo shook her head secretly and planned to write a letter to her son and daughter-in-law, asking them to pay a little attention to Pakura.
"Chiyo-sama, I send my regards to you on behalf of the Sensei and Karura."
Hearing Chiyo's teasing, Rasa forced a smile on his stiff face and said helplessly: "You use this kind of emotion as an opening remark, which always makes me feel like a mother who is very pleased to see her child finally grow up."
Rasa must have seen blood not long ago, and his body was tainted with the hostility unique to the battlefield, but his attitude in front of Chiyo was still humble.
"Haha, sorry, sorry." Chiyo laughed insincerely, "I'm also over 40 years old, and I like nostalgia more and more. Please be considerate of the elderly, hahaha."
She was smiling, but the moment she saw Rasa, she was thinking of her grandson.
Sasori is also six years old this year.
Oh, no, it should be seven years old.
Sasori had celebrated his seventh birthday in November. At that time, she and her son and daughter-in-law had not yet arrived at the front line. Her son took the four of them to take a family photo.
Perhaps it was because of what she called "Ninjas need to keep a low profile", or perhaps it was because of the uneasiness and fear in her heart.
She was quite reluctant to take the photo at that time, and even used the chakra line to knock the camera down a second before the shutter was pressed.
But Chiyo never expected that all three of them would leave home, and the only thing left for Sasori was the crooked family portrait.
If Tsunade had not been transferred away from the front line due to injury, which made the Third Kazekage want to take a gamble, it would have been enough for her to continue staying in the Sand Village as a consultant.
"If I had known earlier, I would have taken a photo honestly. At least I could have left a memory for the child."
Thinking of Sasori who was alone at home and the child's pitiful and lonely expression, Chiyo sighed in her heart.
However, being reminded of someone by seeing something doesn't seem to be a good thing.
"Ahem, sorry, I was distracted."
Chiyo sat on a chair at the end of the conference table, her tired but sharp eyes swept across the faces of the Sand Village jonin, and said with a smile: "I don't want to make the atmosphere too serious, so don't always tense up."
Hearing this, all the Sand Village ninjas present smiled, but there was no smile in their eyes.
There are more than a thousand generations of people who are homesick and tired of war.
The weather in the Land of Rain has begun to turn cold, and everyone's passion for fighting has gradually declined.
In this country where it rains all year round, once winter comes, it will be much colder than in many countries.
Moreover, this suicidal method of combat that involves sacrificing human lives will not only put pressure on Orochimaru, but also on those who actually gave the orders.
It is only because many people share this responsibility that they have been able to hold on until now.
Kill all the enemies as soon as possible so that they can go home earlier.
"Then let's officially start the combat deployment."
Seeing Chiyo become serious, everyone present sat up straight and the atmosphere in the tent suddenly became stagnant.
"Ahem, first of all, the first point."
Chiyo lowered her brows and glanced at the documents in her hand. She cleared her throat and said in a calm and indifferent tone: "Increase the level of looting in the Land of Rain, not just limited to the border and marching routes."
This was a bombshell piece of news, and everyone present was stunned for a moment. When they came to their senses, their faces changed instantly.
"This is absolutely not allowed, Lady Chiyo!"
An anxious jonin said hurriedly: "Although our current resources are not abundant, if we continue to plunder the Land of Rain, they may be pushed to the point of being unable to bear it and directly defect to Konoha and the Land of Fire."
Even a rabbit will bite when it is angry.
The wisest decision is to stop at the right time.
Anyway, as long as the Sand Village's camp is still within the territory of the Land of Rain, the Land of Rain can share the pressure for them, which can greatly save the Sand Village's daily expenses, and the Sand Village's consumption will always be kept to a minimum.
But if the Daimyo of the Land of Rain and Musashi were pushed into a corner and forced to cooperate with Konoha to fight against them, this war would most likely become a protracted war, and it would be difficult for them to survive without the supplies from the Land of Rain.
"Yes, Chiyo-sama."
"This is totally not worth it!"
Others also thought of this and began to agree and dissuade.
Chiyo looked at them as steady as an old dog, then pulled out a stack of information from her arms and threw it in the middle of the conference table.
"Pah!"
The paper fell on the table with a crisp sound.
Everyone calmed down instantly, like a chicken with its neck strangled, and suddenly fell into deathly silence.
"Take a look at them all."
She glanced at the silent crowd, and an irrepressible smile appeared on the corner of her mouth: "Konoha was attacked. The Nine-Tails Jinchuriki lost control and went berserk. After being sealed, she fell into a coma. The losses are completely incalculable."
Hearing this, Rasa's pupils couldn't help but shrink, and he opened the information in front of him.
The Sky Legion invaded Konoha, flying ninja tools, aerial bombings, intimidation, the Nine-Tails went berserk, the Hokage Rock was destroyed, fear gas, heavy casualties, and a serious loss of vitality...
These shocking words were simply unbelievable, but looking at the information written word by word, Rasa seemed to be able to see the horror of the person who wrote it, which should be the same emotion in the hearts of everyone present.
"Orochimaru and Hatake Sakumo have been isolated and helpless, and are at the end of their rope."
Chiyo folded her arms in front of her, showing a gloating smile: "Forget about the follow-up support. They should now pray that the Third Hokage will not withdraw troops to defend."
"The Nine-Tails Jinchuriki lost control and went berserk and fell into a coma. One of Konoha's biggest trump cards has been used. In order to prevent accidents from happening again, the Third Hokage will definitely stay in the village. Konoha's biggest trump card has been used."
"As long as the news spreads, Konoha's army will be in chaos, morale will gradually decline, and the Land of Rain will choose to live in another place."
The Daimyo of the Land of Rain has already openly and covertly admitted defeat and begged for mercy from the Daimyo of the Land of Wind, and Chiyo has probably figured out the bottom line of the Daimyo of the Land of Rain and Musashi.
The two of them had no choice.
By then, there will be no need for the Sand Village to plunder anymore. As long as the Land of Rain hands over its resources and materials.
"By the way, although it feels redundant, I still want to ask."
As if she suddenly remembered something, Chiyo looked up at everyone, narrowed her eyes slightly and asked, "Before this, none of you should have done any of the little actions that I strictly prohibited in private, right?"
"I remember I said, looting is fine, but killing is not."
As soon as these words were spoken, everyone present felt a chill and shook their heads in unison.
"No, absolutely not."
"I warned those people many times."
"Don't worry, Lady Chiyo, we know what we are doing."
Everyone was so excited that they wanted to raise their hands and swear to show their loyalty.
"Very good." Her eyes swept over everyone's faces. Seeing that no one showed any strange expression, Chiyo's expression eased and she smiled: "Now is the critical period of the plan. We must not lose the big picture because of the small details and let the enemy find an opportunity to take advantage of us."
After that, she looked at the jonin who was in charge of logistics and asked, "Have the medicines, ninja tools, food and other supplies needed for the follow-up been prepared?"
Ninja battles are not just about ninjutsu and the quality of the ninjas themselves, but also the quality of the ninja tools.
The quality of ninja tools plays a crucial role in a battle.
However, the value of ninja tools is not small. An ordinary kunai is worth one hundred ryo, and a good one can even sell for three to five hundred ryo. A high-quality kunai is worth more than one thousand ryo. Each person needs at least five to ten kunai.
This is just the cost of buying kunai, there are also shurikens, explosive tags, etc.
The Land of Wind is not as rich in exploitable resources as the Land of Fire. Most of the land is desolate desert with no utilization value. Its economy can be said to be the worst among the five major countries.
The Land of Earth still has rich mineral resources, the Land of Thunder can make full use of electricity resources, but the Land of Wind can only guard the desert and is so poor that it has to drink wind and eat sand.
Even with the strong support and trust of the Daimyo of the Land of Wind, resources are often stretched.
After all, the total amount of various weapons is an astronomical figure, which is also the main reason why she wants to plunder the Land of Rain.
"We had already communicated last week. The drugs were purchased from a drug dealer called Tsuyu. An elite team has been sent to pick them up. They are enough for us to use for a long time."
The Sand Village jonin nodded and explained truthfully, "We have cooperated with him many times before. We use his channels for purchasing and transportation, so Konoha will not discover our tracks in advance."
Have you cooperated before?
Hearing this, Chiyo nodded with satisfaction and did not ask any more details.
But after a moment's silence, she warned in a more serious tone: "Since he is a trustworthy drug dealer, you must maintain a good relationship with him. It would be best to sign a priority and stable supply agreement with him in the name of Sunagakure."
"It doesn't matter if the price is a little higher, as long as the conditions are not too extreme."
During this special war period, the price of medicines is much higher than in the past, and they are hard to come by, so it is good enough to be able to buy them.
After all, the largest supplier of medicinal herbs in the ninja world is the Nara clan of Konoha.
At present, the Sand Village is almost in a fight with Konoha, and those pharmaceutical manufacturers have to consider Konoha's attitude to some extent. Even if they can sell, they can only sell some to them secretly.
A partner who is not influenced by Konoha's attitude and can provide a stable supply of medicines is very important to the Sand Village today.
The little brat Orochimaru was improving too fast. He was overwhelmed at the beginning when facing their offensive, but now he was gradually adapting to their rhythm, and was even taking advantage of the gaps between their attacks.
This young man, who was commanding a large-scale war for the first time, was more difficult to deal with than the Third Kazekage and Chiyo had expected. He was even more difficult to deal with than Princess Tsunade, who came with her own prestige.
It's like an immortal snake. If you hit it, it will hide in the dark, spit out its tongue, and bite you when you relax.
Fortunately for Chiyo, the snake was not poisonous enough and the person driving it away was too weak.
"We don't need to rush for quick success. After all, we are still in a stable position. All our energy should be focused on Konoha. We just need to keep moving forward."
Chiyo's tone was full of confidence and ambition, and the current situation was still under her control.
If nothing unexpected happens, they will mobilize all the remaining troops in the village after the supplies are transported and launch a full-scale attack on the Konoha defenders.
Using the new poison she developed, she tried to completely defeat Orochimaru's defense in the shortest possible time.
Then, they entered the territory of the Land of Fire without stopping, cut off the supply of the Land of River White Fang troops in the rear, cooperated with the Third Kazekage to form a double-sided trap, and naturally won the war.
Finally, they stationed troops in those relatively rich territories, forcing the Land of Fire to sign a treaty to cede territory, reduce commodity taxes, open trade, and compensate for military expenses...
"Um, Chiyo-sama."
Just as Chiyo was thinking about what the treaty should be called, a hesitant voice interrupted her wandering thoughts.
Chiyo subconsciously frowned, looked up at Rasa who had spoken, and asked, "Is there any problem, Rasa?"
A trace of doubt flashed across Rasa's face, and he asked, "Why don't you try to get the cooperation of the Land of Rain?"
The Land of Rain?
Hearing this, Chiyo was stunned for a moment, but soon came to her senses and felt a little unconvinced.
After a while, another two thousand ninjas will be transferred to the front line. Together with the remaining five thousand ninjas on the front line, they will have a total of more than seven thousand ninjas.
What kind of rotten fish and shrimp is the Land of Rain? What is there to worry about? She couldn't find any reason why Sand Village would lose.
However, in order not to undermine the confidence of the young man, Chiyo hesitated for a moment, then looked up at Rasa and said with a smile: "Then write a letter to the Daimyo of the Land of Rain and that old guy Musashi."
"Just say that if they can always stand firmly behind Sunagakure and provide assistance, we will open trade with them after we settle in the Land of Fire."
When saying these words, Chiyo's tone was full of arrogance.
But in the next moment, a faint sound was heard.
Pah! Pah!
The tent curtains made a slight flapping sound, and everyone turned their heads subconsciously to see that the rain that was originally falling straight outside was gradually tilting.
It was not the door curtain that was being knocked by someone, but a message brought by the cold wind.
A cold wind blew into the tent, bringing with it a light rain.
"Got windy?"
Chiyo sniffed, and the air seemed to grow colder.
Inhaled into the nasal cavity, along the respiratory tract, all the way to the lungs.
It caused stinging pain like an ant bite.
