In the capital of the Land of Rain, in the Amegakure Village.
Hanzo strode towards the gate of the capital with a cold expression while dragging the corpse-like "Sand Ninja" in his hand.
Behind him on both sides were two teams of fully armed Rain Ninjas, wearing purple combat uniforms and special masks on their faces. Their eyes were filled with uncontrollable anger.
The place that should have been bustling and noisy became dead silent after seeing this scene.
A feeling of uneasiness and fear of impending storm instantly filled everyone's heart.
When Hanzo, the leader, was about to step out of the city gate, the several Rain Ninjas guarding the gate looked at each other and whispered, "What should we do? Hanzo wants to take so many people out..."
Thinking of the serious order from Lord Musashi, the real leader of the Amegakure Village, they had no choice but to walk straight ahead.
"Lord Hanzo!"
Two Rain Ninjas blocked Hanzo's way and asked respectfully but firmly, "Lord Musashi has ordered that if you want to mobilize more than two teams, you must state your intention and submit an application."
"You must show us your transfer order before we can let you leave the city, otherwise…”
Hanzo remained expressionless and said nothing, just looking at the two of them with a slightly cold gaze.
Meeting those cold, pale golden eyes, the two Rain Ninjas shuddered for no reason and involuntarily lowered their raised arms.
"Ten seconds." Hanzo said in a low voice.
"What?" The two Rain Ninjas were stunned for a moment, not being able to understand what he meant.
"I mean……"
Hanzo raised his eyelids slightly, looked at the two men and said coldly: "Open the city gate within ten seconds, and then take your people and get out of my sight!"
As soon as these words were spoken, the two Rain Ninjas felt like prey being stared at by terrifying beasts in the forest. The feeling of oppression that they had never experienced from anyone before made their bodies tremble.
"Han-Hanzo-sama."
A Rain Ninja wiped the water from his face, it was not sure whether it was the rain water or the cold sweat, and said with a sad face: "It's really impossible. Lord Musashi has issued a death order. We can't..."
Lord Musashi! Lord Musashi! Lord Musashi again!
"Then guess, can your Lord Musashi protect you?"
Hanzo's eyes suddenly turned cold, and the hand pressing on the sickle tightened.
But in the next moment, an old voice came from behind him.
"That's enough, Hanzo!" the old man said with a somewhat helpless tone, "Don't embarrass them anymore, they are just following orders!"
Hearing this, looking at the Rain Ninja in front of him who was sweating profusely, Hanzo snorted coldly, loosened the hilt of the sickle, and then turned to look behind him.
Looking around, there were ninjas wearing the combat uniforms of the Amegakure Village, filling the entire street.
An old man with a hunched back walked out of the crowd and stood slowly in front of Hanzo with staggering steps.
Behind both of them were many Rain Ninjas, but one was an old man, while the other was a middle-aged man.
"Hanzo, do we have to go this far?"
Musashi sighed and said weakly, "Believe me, I have found a way to break the impasse."
The old man's aged and decayed appearance made people subconsciously ignore the sword at his waist, and the young Rain Ninjas behind Hanzo couldn't help but feel a little contempt in their hearts.
But Hanzo looked at the old man without any contempt on his face, and said calmly: "Musashi-sensei, you taught me a lot in the past, so I still respectfully call you sensei." ( Sensei= Teacher)
"But now you can no longer keep up with the changes in the ninja world, so why don't you let me lead the Rain Country to move forward!"
As soon as these words were spoken, the faces of the many Rain Ninjas standing behind Musashi changed as they looked at the man in front of them who had made no secret of his ambition.
“How dare you!” Yoshitaka, who was standing next to Musashi, stood up and glared at Hanzo, asking in a stern voice, “Hanzō! Do you know who you are talking to?!”
"Of course I know." Facing Yoshitaka's questioning, Hanzo's expression remained unchanged, and he said calmly, "I admire Lord Musashi for saving the Land of Rain from being caught between the big countries at the most critical moment."
"However, just as the samurai gradually declined, the era that once belonged to the 'Sword Saint', your era, has ended. Next, it is the era that belongs to the ninja, to us, and to me!"
Hanzo's eyes were filled with pride and his body was filled with the aura of a hero, attracting countless admiring gazes from behind him.
"As for you, Yoshitaka, a man like you."
Hanzo looked at Yoshitaka, who had a livid face, and said sincerely: "I invited you a long time ago. I hope you can join us and dedicate your life to the future of the Land of Rain, instead of staying in the city until you die of old age."
“…”
The angry expression on Yoshitaka's face froze, he opened his mouth and finally fell silent.
Faced with Hanzo's extremely sincere invitation, he admitted that he was indeed touched.
If it weren't for the fact that Lord Musashi had given him a new life, he would have accepted the invitation without hesitation the first time Hanzo invited him.
Musashi obviously realized this. Looking at the people behind him with different expressions, he couldn't help but sigh secretly in his heart.
The current form is actually very clear.
The people standing behind him are all middle-aged and elderly.
I am grateful for his contribution to the Land of Rain, but I also don't want to be used as cannon fodder, so I choose to stand behind him.
But the passionate and ambitious young people, the elite of the Amegakure Village, are on Hanzo's side.
Hanzo had only threatened him but had not killed him. Not only because he was jealous of his contributions and fame, he also did not want to see bloodshed and sacrifice due to internal strife, and hoped to become the leader legitimately.
Even Musashi had to admit that Hanzo already possessed the bearing of a leader.
but……
"You're right. We really can't just let the Sunagakure slaughter us." Musashi's eyes swept over Hanzo and the people behind him, and he said in a deep voice, "But we alone can't confront a big country head-on!"
Hanzo frowned as soon as he said this, but did not refute. Seeing this, the people behind Musashi shouted, "That's right! You said you wanted to lead the Land of Rain to defeat the five great nations! You will only drag the Land of Rain into the war!"
“Are we just going to watch them slaughter people at will?”
"It's better than standing directly against a great power!"
"How do you know you can't beat them if you don't try?"
"Do you want everyone to die with you?"
Just as the two parties were arguing about it, an old but not to be ignored voice was heard.
“So, I found another way out!”
As soon as these words were spoken, everyone turned their eyes to the old man, only to see him taking out a letter from his arms.
"Since we can't fight against a big country ninja village, let's go ask for help from another big country ninja village."
Musashi spoke slowly, raised the letter and looked at everyone, and said in a deep voice: "I went to ask the daimyo to help me contact the daimyo of the Land of Fire, and the daimyo of the Land of Fire has agreed to my request."
"He sympathizes with our situation. If we can hand over all our war resources to them and help Konoha repel the invasion of Sunagakure..."
"He is willing to order Konoha to provide us with shelter and promise not to set foot on the border of the Land of Rain again!"
When they heard Musashi say that he would hand over all the war resources to Konoha, the people behind him and the people behind Hanzo couldn't help but feel their hearts skip a beat and they were about to question or refute.
However, when they heard that Konoha would provide shelter and would not cross the border again, they all fell silent.
That's right.
Konoha was the one invaded by Sunagakure, and everything was just a counterattack out of necessity. It seemed that they had no ill will towards Amegakure.
If we can really help Konohagakure Village and defeat the Sunagakure Village together, maybe we can really usher in peace.
But, is it really possible?
“…”
Looking at the old man in front of him, Hanzo gradually frowned, and a sense of anger inexplicably rose in his heart.
But just as he was about to explode, a burst of applause suddenly came from the dead silence.
Clap! Clap! Clap!
The applause was loud and clear, even joyful.
Hanzo and the others looked up in the direction of the sound, and saw a figure appear on the tower next to them at some point.
“It’s really wonderful.”
Kumokawa walked out slowly from the shadows, put down his clapping hands, pressed them lightly on the guardrail, and looked down at everyone from above.
"Long time no see, Lord Musashi. I send my regards to you on behalf of my deceased father."
Looking at the old man with a stunned expression, Kumokawa waved to him gently, as if he saw an old friend.
"However, after not seeing you for so long, you really haven't changed at all." He had a smile on his face and said in a gentle tone, "Waiting to die, waiting to be killed, kneeling on the ground, wagging your tail and begging for mercy, you can actually make it sound so high-sounding with your old mouth."
"When I see you, I will think of my stupid father who was deceived by you and died miserably."
"Comparatively, you are still alive at your age."
