Naruto villian template chapter 107
🕑 Added 2024-07-20 11:37:01 +0000 UTCChapter 107: A country takes its people as its roots, and its people take grain as its life. If life is gone, the roots will be uprooted, and if the roots are uprooted, the roots will be destroyed!
"Uncle Aki."
On the street, Kumokawa looked at the shops on both sides while walking side by side with Aki and asked calmly: "What do you expect the harvest of those 'experimental fields' to be?"
"Aren't you the one who first proposed this soilless cultivation technology? Of course it's very good."
There was still a helpless smile on Aki's face. He turned to look at Kumokawa next to him and explained: "Artificially control appropriate nutrition, sunlight, moisture, air and other conditions for dense planting and three-dimensional cultivation."
"Depending on the characteristics of different crops at different growth stages, the yield of the crop can be increased to more than ten times. However, the biggest problem now is cost."
Having said this, he paused and sighed: "The current cost of nutrient solutions and machines required for soilless cultivation is too expensive."
"The price of each kilogram of grain crops produced in the end is almost the same as the price of grain we import from outside. If other costs are included..."
He didn't say anything else.
It can be seen that after spending so much energy and resources and only taking such a small step in the end, he felt very stressed.
This is also the reason why Aki doesn't want to take Kumokawa to see the experimental field. On the one hand, he doesn't want Kumokawa to do the "dirty work", and on the other hand, he is worried or even afraid that Kumokawa will be disappointed when he sees the results.
Only after Kumokawa's strong request, Aki is taking him to the experimental field.
Kumokawa didn't understand what he meant, but he just smiled and shook his head.
"I understand your concerns, but now is the first step. Everything is difficult at the beginning, and early investment is necessary."
Kumokawa patted the sad-looking man next to him, his expression and tone gradually changed from gentle to serious: "No matter what, the 'grain bag' must be held in our own hands, and we must not rely too much on imports from other countries!"
"We who are fighting for peace will inevitably become enemies of the five major nations in the future!"
"They will never allow us, as a small country, to compete with them for resources. The first one to stand up is the Fire Nation, which is the largest food exporter."
"Once the Daimyo of the Land of Fire directly breaks his friendly face and orders those merchants to stop exporting food to us, even if we have great ability, we can only wait for death."
The country takes its people as its roots, and the people take its grain as its life. If life is exhausted, the roots will be uprooted, and if the roots are uprooted, the roots will be ruined!
Therefore, even if they start from scratch, even if they spend countless resources and energy, they must ensure their own food security.
Otherwise, once the food supply is cut off, it is equivalent to having their lifeline cut off, and they can only kneel down and accept the slaughter.
"...Is there such an important reason? Sorry, I am short-sighted and narrow-minded."
Aki was silent for a long time, finally took a breath, suppressed the uneasiness in his heart, scratched his head and said with a smile: "We will try our best to perfect it as soon as possible."
As if seeing his anxiety at the moment, Kumokawa shook his head and smiled, and his tone became gentle again: "Don't worry, there are specialties in the work, haste makes waste, as for the nutrient solution…”
"You should go to the newly established scientific research institute and talk to the director of the biological research department. Maybe he can develop a new nutrient solution formula that can reduce costs while ensuring efficacy."
"Just tell Shinnō that, I asked you to find him, that's all."
Academy of Sciences? Biological research department?
Hearing these two unfamiliar words, Aki was stunned.
How much did he miss during the time he was locked in his room?
"As for the problem of insufficient manpower..." Kumokawa smiled and looked away, looking at the crowded streets in front of him, and said calmly: "If you can spare time, find time to hold an agricultural class."
"Aren't you helping some residents with soilless cultivation? Why don't you try to teach them those techniques? Helping a man to catch fish is not as good as teaching him how to catch fish."
For example, Tsuyu has already begun to teach people navigation and espionage skills. Now there are many young people who can support themselves, and it won't be long before they can be separated into captains and espionage personnel.
Kumokawa seriously suspected that he was immersed in his gentle hometown, so he wanted to stop floating outside on the sea all day long and share his burdens and tasks with other apprentices.
However, Kumokawa is happy to see the results.
Kumokawa turned to look at Aki, who had a dull expression, and smiled meaningfully: "If you can teach some talented people, I can also let you set up an agricultural research department in the future."
Establish an agricultural research department?
Then isn't he the minister?!
Hearing this, Aki subconsciously trembled, his tired heart suddenly became hot, as if it was lit by a fire, and he blurted out: "Really?"
But he quickly came to his senses, stopped in his tracks and said seriously: "Lord Kumokawa, please rest assured, I will definitely try my best, and I will definitely not disappoint your expectations!"
"I hope you will keep your word." Kumokawa just nodded slightly, smiled and patted his arm.
Pursuing a better life and future is the instinct in everyone's bones.
Especially for someone like Aki who used to be a "lower class"?
The emotion of "gratitude" has its limits, and "gratitude" will always be repaid.
People always live for something.
What is the purpose of getting ahead, and what is the purpose of working hard?
Some people do it to gain someone's approval, like Nagato, and some people do it to fulfill their lofty ideals, like Yahiko.
Some people do it to maintain the warmth of their homes, like Tsuyu, and some people do it to gain status and power, like Aki.
As long as someone can give them hope for the future, they are willing to grit their teeth and fight for the future.
Kumokawa is the one who can give them a chance.
"Boss, um, I have another question."
Looking at Kumokawa beside him who was only chatting with Aki, Yahiko, who was hesitant to speak along the way, finally couldn't help it anymore and asked in a low voice: "What are you talking about soilless cultivation and vegetable greenhouses?"
Kumokawa turned to look at him and said with a smile, "I thought you could hold it in for a little longer."
Hearing this, knowing that his every move along the way was seen, Yahiko stretched out his hand and scratched the back of his head and said with a shameless smile: "Isn't that what you said, boss? Seeking knowledge is a good habit."
These words were what Kumokawa said to him when he was first rescued by Kumokawa.
And he always remembered what Kumokawa said to him.
Ignorance in the true sense is not a lack of knowledge, but a refusal to acquire knowledge.
Compared to the ignorant and fearless look at the beginning, Yahiko now does seem to have become much more mature, at least he no longer regards ignorance as a reason for being fearless.
If there is a problem beyond his understanding, he will no longer rush to deny and argue as before, but will use his shameless advantage to ask for advice.
However, Kumokawa did not rush to respond to his doubts. He just looked at the looming greenhouse in front and chuckled: "Instead of trying to explain it to you, I might as well show it to you."
At this moment, he had changed into a large black robe, and his face was shrouded in shadow by the hood.
In the Rain Country, which has a lot of rainy weather, his outfit is not unusual and it didn't attract many people's attention.
Otherwise, given the popularity of Kumokawa's face in City of Dawn, he would be surrounded by residents within a few minutes if he walked strutting on the crowded streets.
After all, most of the people here are refugees who have been displaced and forced into exile due to the war. Providing them with a peaceful place free from the chaos of war is no less than a life-saving kindness.
As long as their own survival is not involved, most people are more or less grateful to Kumokawa.
If it involves their own survival, it depends on their own consciousness and character.
However, Kumokawa is not naive enough to think that everyone can repay his kindness. As long as most people can honestly abide by the rules he has set, he will not care what these people think.
As for those white-eyed wolves who wolfed down the rice in Kumokawa's pot and thought about selling Kumokawa at a good price when they were full...
