At dawn, on the border of the Land of Rain, the new day did not usher in the sun. But even the continuous cold rain could not wash away the smell of blood in the air.
"hiss!"
Five huge snakes wreaked havoc on the battlefield.
Turning this place into a bloody millstone, there are weapons, blood and pieces of flesh everywhere.
The largest python with purple stripes in the center of the battlefield is the most terrifying.
"Ah!!"
The Sunagakure ninjas who smelled the fishy smell looked up and saw the bloody mouth that suddenly opened, and instantly the hair on their bodies stood up and they screamed.
They had no time to retreat and were swallowed directly. Only the slightly squirming snake neck could prove their existence.
Boom!!
There were also several large spotted pythons following around. The large snakes were just swaying their tails at will, and the power they caused was equivalent to a very powerful ninjutsu.
But even so, the Sunagakure ninjas still did not flinch, roaring like moths rushing to the flames and charging madly.
"Kill! For the future of the Kingdom of Wind!!"
The next moment, the Sunagakure ninja who roared and charged towards him with the intention of sneak attack was hit by the thick snake tail.
It flew backwards at an incredible speed, hit the rock wall and turned into a ball of blurred blood and mud, and was quickly washed into the bloody water by the rain.
"Orochimaru!"
The big purple snake flicks its tail and swept away the attacking ants. Feeling the stinging sensation in its tail, it said in a cold voice: "Are these humans crazy? I can't even eat anymore!"
"Manda, isn't this exactly what you want?"
Orochimaru stood on the head of the purple snake, his whole body soaked with blood, and his pale face said gloomily: "This is the third suicide attack recently!! "
Signing a summoning contract with the "Three Holy Lands" Ryuchi Cave, the role he can play on the battlefield is obvious.
The giant summoning beast, coupled with its own snake-type ninjutsu and the flexible use of the five-release ninjutsu, is like a human millstone on the battlefield.
However, the attack frequency of Sunagakure troops was too high.
Orochimaru didn't know what the situation was like on the River Country battlefield on Hatake Sakumo's side, but Sunagakure's offensive on his side of the Rain Country battlefield was getting more fierce day by day.
Even Manda, who used to ask him to offer hundreds of people as a sacrifice, was now being overstretched by those Sunagakure ninjas and almost vomited out.
Especially since each mouthful will swallow a bunch of puppets. Although Manda is resistant to most poisons, the experience is like eating rice mixed with sand. It really makes Manda feel disgusted.
"These damn humans!"
Manda hissed out words, opened his big eyes and growled coldly: "Orochimaru! I can't stand it anymore. If you don't take action, I will throw you away!!"
The sharp wind blasts of the Sunagakure ninjas were sprayed out one after another, and the kunai with explosive tags were constantly aimed at Manda to attack.
With such an attack frequency, even if it has rough skin and thick flesh, it will still be pierced through the flesh, and its tail will be dripping with blood!
Obviously, the Sunagakure ninjas know very well that they must completely defeat Orochimaru before they can break through the defense line established here, and then rush into the Land of Fire in one go and seize everything.
"I know!"
Looking down at the Sunagakure ninjas below and feeling the little chakra left, Orochimaru couldn't help but grit his teeth and reached out to touch the huge scroll behind him.
Bang!
As a burst of thick white smoke exploded, when the Sunagakure ninjas below looked up, they heard a scream breaking through the air!
They saw Orochimaru throwing the fūma shuriken that was as tall as a person, and immediately began to form seals with his hands in front of him quickly.
Ox → Dog → Dragon → Rat → Dog → Boar → Snake → Tiger
"Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique!!"
Orochimaru roared.
In an instant, what was originally only a high-pitched scream turned into an incessant neighing, followed by the shrill screams of humans!
"Ah!!"
Countless fuma shurikens hit the Sunagakure ninja below, blood spurted out from the broken body, and the originally gloomy black rain seemed to turn into a scarlet blood rain.
And Orochimaru's little remaining chakra was finally completely exhausted at this moment.
"Orochimaru! I'm going back to digest myself. Please don't disturb my rest recently!"
Amidst Manda's slightly satisfied and cold belching and threatening sounds, several big snakes including Manda disappeared after a burst of white smoke exploded.
"Those stinky snakes are gone!"
"kill!!"
Seeing this, the already crazy Sunagakure ninjas became obviously more excited. Each one of them, with red eyes, hoarsely charged towards the defense line of Konoha ninjas.
However, Sunagakure, who had suffered heavy losses, clearly no longer had an advantage in numbers. Even if the giant summoning beasts that were the biggest threat had been eliminated, they were still killed and injured by the remaining Konoha ninjas.
However, under Sunagakure's suicidal attack regardless of casualties, Konoha's damage increased at a rate visible to the naked eye.
Orochimaru, whose chakra had been completely depleted, exuded a cold murderous aura and fishy stench, and retreated towards the camp behind the defense line without looking back.
The Konoha ninjas who passed by him couldn't help but tremble, subconsciously showing fear and then looking away instantly.
They knew that Lord Orochimaru was trying to protect Konoha and the Land of Fire, but their bodies still had an uncontrollable physiological reaction of fear, especially when they thought of Orochimaru's extremely bloody and treacherous methods.
It was an unfounded fear, like the cold feeling of being stared at by a poisonous snake.
Orochimaru, who had a keen sense, naturally noticed it, but he didn't care at all about what those people thought.
In other words, he couldn't care at all.
This is not the first time he has done this.
Every time, Orochimaru was summoned to clean up the battlefield. When the chakra was exhausted, he would retreat rationally, allowing other Konoha ninjas to directly attack, without giving Sunagakure any chance to surround and kill him.
He knew very well that with Sunagakure's increasingly fierce offensive, as long as Sunagakure was blocked in the Land of Rain and the defense line could be stabilized, it would be considered a victory.
Therefore, he who rushed to become the commander-in-chief must not die in front of everyone in Konoha.
Taking the lead in the charge may sound very passionate, but in fact it is by no means a rational choice.
Once he is beheaded in full view of the public, the morale of Konoha ninjas will fall to the bottom, and Konoha's defense will inevitably collapse in an instant.
No matter what means he uses for this, or how many people he sacrifices, it is not within his scope of consideration.
The high-frequency summoning of the summoning beasts from Ryūchi Cave to fight left no chakra left in Orochimaru's body, and Sunagakure had no intention of giving him any time to rest.
All he can do now is to replenish the depleted chakra as soon as possible before Sunagakure's next attack!
This is a necessary sacrifice!
Bang!!
"Damn it!"
Orochimaru, who had always been rational, returned to the camp, and under the gazes of all the jounin who were either concerned, worried or frightened, he punched the table with a sullen face and cursed: "Those bastards Sunagakure are really crazy!”
Even though he knew that this was a necessary sacrifice, watching hundreds of thousands of lives die still made him feel colder and colder in his heart, and a sense of powerlessness gradually eroded his body.
He thought that due to a moment of negligence and relaxation, watching Nawaki die in front of him was already the most painful time for him, but he didn't expect that it was just the beginning of a nightmare.
Just watching countless people die without being able to do anything, he felt that his perception of life was becoming more and more indifferent, and his feeling for the fragility of human life became more and more profound.
It seems that as long as he can exchange a small number of his own casualties for a large number of enemy casualties, he can now treat people as victims as a matter of course.
Life has become a bargaining chip and a chess piece exchanged with each other.
"Orochimaru-sama, this is also a helpless choice."
Seeing Orochimaru's angry look, a Konoha jounin could only comfort him: "We have been prepared from the moment we entered the battlefield."
That's easy to say.
However, knowing that it was asking them to go and die, it was not easy to have to do it. The psychological pressure they had to endure was as heavy as the physical pressure.
"I see."
Orochimaru waved his hands, exhausted both physically and mentally. He took a deep breath and regained his composure. He looked at the Jonin who was in charge of communications and said, "Didn't the village already reply and say that support is on the way? Why hasn't it arrived yet?"
If this continues, they won't be able to hold on for long.
The Sunagakure troops no longer carried out a small team combat strategy, but began to directly send out small groups of ninja troops, charging head-on in an almost crazy manner regardless of losses. Obviously they were not satisfied with the victory or defeat of local battles.
The mass-produced puppet master troops trained roughly by Chiyo have successfully offset the numerical gap between them, and even allowed Sunagakure to surpass Konoha to some extent.
This high-pressure strategy, which completely inflicted one thousand losses on oneself and eight hundred on the enemy, gave Orochimaru a huge headache as he rushed to become the commander-in-chief. He was basically planning to beat his old sensei to death with random punches.
"I don't know." The Jonin in charge of communication was also a little irritated. "There is no news at all over there. I even suspect that the village has been invaded..."
At this moment, a chunin responsible for delivering emergency orders broke into the camp.
"Lord Orochimaru!" He shouted to Orochimaru and everyone with a joyful face, "Elder Danzo has come with the ANBU to support us."
Danzo?
Upon hearing this name, Orochimaru and all the jounin couldn't help but change their expressions.
"Danzo?" Orochimaru held his forehead and said in an irritable tone, "Why did Sarutobi-sensei send that guy here? What use can he have with so many people?"
After the words fell, the curtain of the tent was opened, and a gloomy voice reached everyone's ears before the figure.
"Hmph! Of course I can help you deal with Sunagakure!"
