"Ah, I'm finally back."
Jiraiya, Tsunade and others who were heading to the Land of Whirlpools appeared outside the gate of Konoha, exhausted.
However, as if he had noticed something, Kato Dan suddenly stopped and looked down at his feet with his pupils slightly fixed.
He saw the dust on the ground rippling, floating up and then falling down.
"Kato Dan, what's wrong?"
Several jonin behind him also stopped and looked at him with puzzled expressions.
Only Tsunade, who was still distracted with her head down in front, did not react. The carefree Jiraiya couldn't wait to push open the door.
Crunch!
The connection between the doors made a grinding sound.
"Hahaha, now that you're back, you have to enjoy yourself. Tsunade, do you want to come with us..."
Jiraiya pushed open the door and was still dreaming, but when he looked up into the distance he was stunned.
If he remembered correctly, the first thing he saw after entering the village was shops on both sides.
The first shop on the left is an izakaya, and its decoration is in warm brown and red tones.
After entering the store, you can see a wine cabinet full of wine. These are all fine wines collected by the store manager from all over the place. Every time Jiraiya went to this izakaya, he could hear the store manager showing off to new customers.
"No, no, no, these are not for sale. I can't bear to drink them myself, and neither can you Lord Jiraiya, Hahaha."
"Humph! Good wine is meant to be savored and drunk! If you don't drink it, someone might destroy it all someday, old man."
Jiraiya still clearly remembered the store manager's smug expression and tone, as well as his own angry complaints, but he no longer knew what specific wine it was.
But now it seems like such a waste.
Because the wine in his memory had disappeared, and along with it the entire izakaya had disappeared.
The entire izakaya has been reduced to a mess, or it would be better to describe it as broken walls and ruins.
The roof and walls had cracked and disappeared, the carpet that had originally covered the floor had been burned away, the charred charcoal was still glowing, and everything was covered with a layer of black ash.
As for the wines that the store manager regarded as treasures, they had all fallen to the ground and shattered into pieces. The flames were crackling on the wine cabinet, and the burning flames evaporated them into dry marks.
Jiraiya's resentful complaint actually came true.
However, it seems that the limit of "Crow's Mouth" has been exceeded.
"……Eh?"
Looking at the broken Hokage Rock in the distance, Jiraiya's expression froze for a moment, then he nodded thoughtfully: "So that's how it is, we must have lost our way, this is actually the Land of Whirlpools, yeah, that's it."
"Strange, when did the Whirlpool Country become so similar to Konoha?"
He muttered to himself, turned around and prepared to leave.
But the next moment, a fist came towards him.
BANG!!
Jiraiya's face was deformed by the punch, and he was thrown into the smoke-shrouded pub.
"You bastard, at this time, you still have the mind to joke around?"
Tsunade retracted her fist, several veins popped out on her forehead, and growled, "Open your eyes and look, this is Konoha!"
Everyone behind him, including Kato Dan, looked up into the distance in surprise and doubt.
What was destroyed was not just the wine cabinet and the collection of wine. All that could be seen were black burnt marks, as if a fire meteor had fallen from the sky and hit Konoha, randomly bombing the entire Konoha.
In the dimly lit ruins, one could vaguely see many people lying on the ground, not knowing whether they were dead or alive.
On the originally bustling and prosperous street, apart from them, there was not a single moving person to be seen.
What made Jiraiya think he was dreaming, and what was also the most unbelievable to everyone, was the completely shattered Hokage Rock in the distance.
The statue originally had the heads of the three hokages carved on it, symbolizing the great achievements of the three hokages and expressing the villagers' respect and admiration for the Hokage. It can be said to be the spiritual symbol of all the people in Konoha.
It is the most iconic thing in the entire Konoha and can directly represent Konoha to a certain extent.
But now……
Boom! Bang!
Rubble fell from Sarutobi Hiruzen's broken head, causing the ground beneath everyone's feet to shake again, and then a cloud of dust rose from the bottom of the Hokage Rock.
The fallen rock happened to be right at the location of Sarutobi Hiruzen's nose, making the noseless avatar look extremely funny, but no one at the scene was in the mood to laugh anymore.
It was dead silent and in a mess.
The blazing flames and thick smoke rose into the sky.
“…Cough, Cough! Cough!”
Jiraiya, covered in dust, walked out of the ruins, looked around the ruined Konoha, his face pale and he exclaimed: "What's going on? What on earth happened?!"
They were only away for two or three days, so why did it feel like the whole world had changed?
At this moment, an orange-red light suddenly burst out in the distance, followed by an even more violent vibration.
"What a strong chakra fluctuation!" Kato looked over, his face extremely serious, "They are over there!"
------------------
"Where are those damn Sky Ninjas?"
"Those bastards have already run out of ammunition and chakra! Their goal is to lure out the demon fox!"
"You're still talking nonsense in the fight! Do you want to die?!"
"No, don't be afraid, stop the demon fox and fight for a chance for the Third Hokage-sama!"
At this moment in the central area of Konoha, except for those Konoha ninjas who had inhaled the poison gas, the clan ninjas who were the real main force rushed over, wearing simple masks and chasing and intercepting the Five-Tailed Demon Fox.
“Woo!!”
The five tails behind the Five-Tailed Demon Fox were moving wildly, sweeping away the surrounding Konoha ninjas like insects, and it was charging through the crowd as if it was in an empty space.
But every time it tried to condense the Tailed Beast Bomb, countless ninjutsu and ninja tools would fly towards it.
Secret techniques, Water Release, Fire Release, Shuriken, Kunai, Explosive Tags…
Nara, Akimichi, Yamanaka, Sarutobi, Hyuga, Aburame, Inuzuka...
All means of attack were thrown at the five-tailed demon fox. If they were able to cooperate tacitly, even if it was in the form of the five-tailed fox, it would be miserable and annoyed.
Compared to the previous minor fights, this is the real Konoha, risking their lives to hold back the Nine-Tails.
Because behind them is Konoha's refuge, if they let the completely out-of-control Nine-Tails barge in, their families' lives will be in danger.
No matter how much they fear death, it is not a reason for them to retreat.
Their only thought was that they must try their best to stop the Nine-Tailed Fox and seize the opportunity to seal it.
"Roar!!"
A trace of anger flashed in the vertical pupils of the Five-Tailed Demon Fox, and it rushed into the crowd at a speed that the Konoha ninjas could not keep up with, its body was spinning and its tail was moving wildly, and the strong wind that swept up disrupted their formation.
BANG!!
A member of the Hyuga branch stood in front of Hyuga Bunto, and two crisp sounds were heard, and two people with blue veins around their eyes were knocked away.
“Ahem!”
Hyuga Bunto stood up, holding his chest, and looked at the five-tailed demon fox rampaging in the crowd with an unpleasant expression: "Even Mito-sama couldn't suppress the Nine-Tailed Fox and it went out of control and ran away..."
Nine-Tailed Fox is too dangerous.
The same is true for the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki.
Also, the Sky Legion's fortress and heavy artillery...
Thinking of this, he looked up at the sky with a grim expression, the remaining violent aura was still clearly visible.
Whether it was attacking or evacuating, the opponent's actions were too decisive and left them no chance.
If those flying bastards are still here, they will eliminate the threat even if they have to bear the damage from the Nine-Tailed Fox.
However, they were too quick and too decisive. They didn't even bother to fight and just withdrew, while leaving them with a lot of trouble.
“Woo!!”
Just as the five-tailed demon fox was preparing for the next move, Sarutobi Hiruzen, who was swinging the Adamantine Staff, suddenly raised his head as if he had sensed something and shouted, "Retreat!!"
Upon hearing this, the people surrounding the five-tailed demon fox did not hesitate at all. They instantly turned into shadows and leaped behind to create some distance.
The next moment, a huge shadow fell from the sky covered with smoke.
"Summoning: Food Cart Destroyer Technique!"
Boom!!
A deafening roar sounded instantly, and the huge shadow falling from the sky pressed the Nine-Tailed Fox in the five-tailed state into the ground, smashing a huge hole in the ground!
Sand was flying and stones were scattered.
The earth shook and cracked into a web-like pattern.
The surrounding Konoha ninjas also trembled and looked up at the huge monster that appeared before them. After a brief pause, they showed surprise.
It was a toad as big as a hill, with a dagger stuck in the bandage around its waist and a giant pipe in its mouth.
"Teacher!!"
Jiraiya, who was standing on Gamabunta's head, shouted loudly, but before he could say anything, Sarutobi Hiruzen had already arrived next to the five-tailed demon fox.
The five attributes of chakra were condensed on the five fingers, and then the five fingers were fiercely inserted into the abdomen of the five-tailed demon fox, and a low voice sound: "Five Elements Seal!"
"Roar!!"
Feeling the extremely strong pressure of the seal coming down on it, a scarlet aura emanated from the body of the Five-Tailed Demon Fox, trying to use chakra to resist the power of the seal.
But at this moment, a cry suddenly came from a distance.
"Grandma Mito!"
The moment it heard the voice, a glimmer of clarity suddenly flashed across those vertical pupils that were filled with cruelty and hatred.
A second before its consciousness completely fell silent, in its hazy vision it saw Kushina's face running towards it crying.
"Kushina..."
The five-tailed demon fox, no, it should be said that Mito's face showed a trace of fear and bitterness, and she whispered to herself: "I'm sorry, I'm really sorry."
Immediately, the chakra fluctuations that rose up around her body were like a mighty tsunami, rushing into Mito's body!
When the scarlet cyclone that lingered around her body dissipated, only Mito, who looked old, was left fainting on the ground.
"Grandma! Grandma Mito!"
"Kushina! Don't go over there, it's dangerous!"
Kushina ran over with tears streaming down her face, and Minato behind her quickly grabbed her arm.
"Third Hokage-sama, they..."
An Anbu captain stepped forward to stop the two men, then subconsciously turned to look at Sarutobi Hiruzen, as if wanting to seek his advice on how to deal with the situation.
"..." Sarutobi Hiruzen narrowed his eyes slightly to hide the deep coldness in his eyes, and said in a deep voice, "Send Mito to the hospital for treatment. No one is allowed to touch her without my permission!"
"Once she wakes up, I will visit her in person!"
"Let's discuss the results later!"
After saying that, he glanced at Kushina who was crying loudly behind him, and gave a wink to the Anbu captain.
The Anbu captain nodded imperceptibly.
"Hey" Jiraiya, who had released his summon, fell from the sky, walked over with a frown on his face, and asked in a puzzled tone, "So, can anyone explain to me what happened during this period of time?"
Behind him, Tsunade looked at Kushina and Mito, a complicated look in her eyes.
The Uzumaki clan, which was once so glorious, may be heading towards destruction at this moment.
In other words, the Uzumaki clan, which was once on good terms with Konoha, no longer existed from then on.
