Tori in a flight suit and a middle-aged man with red hair walked into the main control room side by side.
The two people, who originally had a good conversation because of their hostility to Konoha, couldn't help but change their expressions to respectful expressions after seeing the two figures in front of them.
"Lord Shinnō, we..."
Tori was about to say something, but saw one of them wave his hand and immediately turned to look at him.
"Call me legion commander from now on." Shinnō corrected helplessly, "Remember, we are now the legion of the sky, not some sky ninja village."
"If you call me wrong next time, I can't guarantee what will happen to you next."
Being stared at by those strange demon-like vertical eyes, the Tori's body stood stiffly.
"Yes." He lowered his head and said with a nervous expression, "I understand."
After saying that, Tori raised his eyes slightly and secretly looked at another figure.
There was no intact floor or wall in the originally beautifully decorated main control room. It was as if a furious storm had passed by here.
Countless cracks demonstrated the ruthlessness and ferocity of the instigator, and the unspeakable violent murderous intent was poured out throughout the space.
Even Lord Shinnō's favorite "throne" was shattered into rubbish. Apparently, a battle that could be described as crushing took place here before.
And their originally arrogant Lord Shinnō could only wait obediently behind that figure, looking like an extremely loyal attendant...
Thinking of this, Tori's expression became a little stiff.
Damn it.
Why do I feel this way?
It felt like Lord Shinnō's unruly temperament had died, and and it is replaced by the kind of fierce and violent aura like a demon.
"Don't be so scary, Shinnō."
Hearing Kumokawa's gentle voice, Shinnō put away the anger in his eyes, turned to look at the figure, took a deep breath and whispered: "I'm sorry, I can't fully grasp it yet."
"No, I overestimated your will."
Standing in front of the smashed wall, the sun shone on Kumokawa, who stood upright, and the wind in the air lifted his hair tips on forehead.
"How is the shielding device of Konoha's perception barrier doing?"
Kumokawa looked down at the "winged birds" that were gradually flying away in the distance, turned to look at the Tori and the Uzumaki ninja and smiled gently: "There are also Uzumaki clan members here, with their help, it shouldn't be difficult to crack it, right?"
"Yes, Lord Kumokawa,"
The Uzumaki ninja nodded and said solemnly: "At the beginning, Senju Hashirama perfected Konoha's perception barrier, and my father Uzumaki Ashina was also involved in it, so I know the flaws in Konoha's barrier very well."
Uzumaki Ashina, the previous leader of the Uzumaki clan and the first village chief of Uzushio Village.
His sealing skills are very superb and he is called the founder of Konoha's sealing skills.
And this middle-aged man is the son of Uzumaki Ashina, and he is considered a very talented person among the Uzumaki clan. Although he does not have special abilities such as Adamantine Sealing Chains, he has deep knowledge of non-special sealing techniques.
"Well done."
Kumokawa just smiled and nodded slightly, then paused, looked deeply at the man, and shook his head gently: "I am very sorry for the death of Okanai, Kazuya. If I could have been earlier... "
“No, Lord Kumokawa, this is not your fault!"
Before Kumokawa could finish his words, he was interrupted by the man he called Kazuya with great excitement, and a look of pain flashed across his face: "Okanai was already an adult, and I am proud of him.”
After saying that, his expression turned ferocious, and he said with hatred in his voice: "Even if there is a mistake, it is Kirigakure and Konoha's fault! "
Uzumaki Okanai, his only son, had just completed the New Year's ceremony two days ago and was killed by Kirigakure ninjas while on guard duty at the border.
"Oh, please forgive me."
Kumokawa sighed and said, "Fortunately, I passed by the border when leaving the Country of Whirlpool. I have brought his body back. I will bury him in the cemetery when I return. His name will also be engraved on the Heroic Spirit Monument."
"...What?" Hearing this, the ferocious expression on Uzumaki Kazuya's face froze, and he suddenly looked up at Kumokawa and said, "You, you really brought Okanai body with you?"
"Didn't Nagato tell you?"
Kumokawa seemed even more surprised than he was. He shook his head and said calmly: "This is all I can do. If I have the chance in the future, I will take back the Whirlpool country and let those dead souls return to their hometown."
Then, there was only a muffled sound, and Shinnō subconsciously turned his head and looked over.
"No, you have done enough for us."
He saw Uzumaki Kazuya kneeling on one knee behind Kumokawa, his tone was like hammering nails into wood, lowered his head and said solemnly: "The place where you are from now on will be our 'hometown'."
"No, no, no, I mean what I say. Since it's yours, it's yours. We can't give the Whirlpool Country to others for nothing. We will definitely take it back in the future.
Kumokawa turned around, waved his hand, and said calmly: "You don't have to show your loyalty to me. You should be in a hurry to see Okanai, right?"
"No, I didn't. What I meant was..."
Hearing that his words seemed to be misunderstood as a compliment, Uzumaki Kazuya wanted to explain but didn't know how. In the end, he could only close his mouth and say awkwardly but firmly: "We will prove it to you."
After that, without waiting for Kumokawa to say anything else, he stood up and strode out.
Obviously, he was going to help the Sky Ninja Village...oh no, I should say, he was going to help the Sky Legion improve their equipment.
"Ah?" Seeing him leaving, the confused Tori came to his senses and said quickly, "Then, Lord Shinnō... bah, Sky Legion Commander, Lord Kumokawa, I will take my leave first."
”Yes." Kumokawa just nodded slightly and said without looking back, "Cooperate well with the Uzumaki clan. Your equipment still has a lot of room for improvement."
"Yes!" Tori subconsciously lowered his head respectfully, and then took a last look at Shinnō, stood up and chased after him.
After the two left one after another, the main control room fell into silence again.
Shinnō's eyes twitched as he took in the whole scene.
"Compared with you..."
Looking at the glimmering profile, a hint of admiration flashed in his eyes, and he couldn't help but say with emotion, "For the first time, I feel that I am a truly good person."
He now somewhat believes that the person in front of him is a "devil" who trades souls and bewitches people.
At least he can't sell people and ask the other party to thank him, or even let the other party count the money for him.
"What?" Kumokawa just glanced at him and said with a smile, "Do you think everything I said and did just now was all disguise?"
Hearing this, Shinnō was stunned for a moment, then shook his head and said frankly: "I can't tell."
What a high-ranking winner said to a low-ranking loser was really frivolous and unreliable.
It felt like raindrops from the sky hitting the ground, and the countless sounds of rain were difficult to distinguish between the true and the false.
"That's why I said you were stupid."
Kumokawa turned his head, looked in the direction of Konoha, and said calmly, "Most of the stupidity in this world is the result of messing up cause and effect."
"They are the same as you. It was me who messed up your fate, it was me who changed your inevitable death, and it was me who became the only variable in your fate."
Kumokawa chuckled and said, "This is the fact, that's enough."
