The first floor of the dim and dilapidated building was silent.
There was only the rustling, the trivial noise of flying ashes, and the fishy smell that was so thick that it seemed like you could lick it with the tip of your tongue.
The interior of the entire building was in a mess, or it would be better to describe it as broken walls and ruins.
The pitted and pitch-black ground was left with a shocking dark red color.
Click... click...
Jiraiya walked towards the corpses and stepped on the pool of dried blood on the ground. The dark red blood spattered and stained his trousers with red stains.
He squatted in front of the headless corpse in a weird posture and began to observe every detail carefully.
The moonlight reflected into the building from the doors and windows that had turned into debris, and all the observable features of the corpse fell into his eyes.
"This is the corpse of Kirigakure ninja, and the body is still warm."
Jiraiya put his hand on the charred corpse, subconsciously frowned and said in a low voice: "The time of death should not be long!"
He reached out and shook out the kunai, then gently cut open the corpse's chest.
All the internal organs of the roasted body were complete, and the warm feeling confirmed his suspicion. Except for the extremely tragic death, all the other parts were the same as those of ordinary people.
"What was the process of the battle?" Kato Dan asked behind him.
Jiraiya did not give an answer immediately, but turned to look at the heads rolling to the ground and the broken and dry corpses lying on the ground.
He had seen many more cruel and bloody ones before.
But Jiraiya had never seen any scene like this, and the remaining violence and ferocity lingered in the air.
Especially the mutilated corpses with missing arms and legs, which did not look like man-made injuries at all.
It was a kind of pure wildness that wanted to kill people, just like an extremely hungry wild leopard, with unconcealed ferocity and killing intent when it saw its prey.
It was as if one could smell the fresh blood gushing out as the claws tore through the body, and could hear the wails and fear of those Kirigakure ninjas before they died.
"Those corpses might be summoning beasts, right?”
A Hesitant expression appeared on Jiraiya's face, but when he looked at the heads, his tone became solemn and serious: "These corpses, the heads and bodies are separated, the fractures are flat, they were killed with one blow, and the sword skills were neat.”
"Almost instantly all these ninjas died.”
The withered head stared blankly, with various expressions remaining on its face, including anger, resentment or surprise, but there was no trace of fear.
"I heard those samurai say that in the era of samurai, if the samurai's sword could be extremely fast, when the sword fell and the sword came out to cut off the enemy's head, the expression on the opponent's face would be frozen at that moment forever.”
Jiraiya's eyes flickered slightly and he whispered: "Because the speed of swinging the blade has exceeded the pain and fear before death, the other party has lost consciousness before he realizes that he is dead."
"I thought it was just a legend…”
But now these corpses seem to be confirming that absurd legend. There are actually people who can reach such incredible speed with just a blade.
Many ninjas present who thought they were good at swordsmanship put themselves in that situation and couldn't help but shudder and growl.
It sounds like an extremely easy and simple process, but when you think about it carefully, it becomes jaw-dropping and terrifying.
Killing so many Kirigakure ninjas at the same time in an instant, so fast that they had no time to notice their own death.
Like the death's scythe, the incision was smooth leaving no trace of bone. There is no pain, only cold death…
"Can Sakumo-sama do this to this extent?" Someone suddenly said this.
As soon as these words came out, other people immediately looked at him with different looks.
Jiraiya didn't comment, he just glanced at the jonin who spoke and reminded: "Don't say such disrespectful words in the future.”
"That's right." Kato Dan nodded and smiled gently, "Sakumo-senpai is a powerful ninja known as 'White Fang'. His White Fang swordsmanship is well-known in the ninja world."
There is still a gap between Jonin and elite Jonin. Elite Jonin with titles are a minority in the entire ninja world. They can be said to be candidates who are qualified to inherit the title of "Kage". They all earned their reputation by killing one living life after another in fierce battles.
Those are the reputations gained by fighting fierce battles with each living life.
In comparison, the only other people who became famous for their swordsmanship were the great general "Mifune" of the Land of Iron, and the boastful "demigod" Hanzo.
No, there is actually one more besides them.
Jiraiya glanced at the inexplicably silent Tsunade and realized that she, like him, was thinking of the masked bastard with the dagger.
But, it shouldn’t be such a coincidence, right?
These marks were obviously left by a long sword. How could an average person practice both short and long sword techniques at the same time? Those are two completely unrelated sword techniques.
Tsunade's nose suddenly sniffed and she walked to the window with an expressionless face.
Where her eyes fell, there were two complete heads.
Two black iron nails pierced through the temples of the head and were nailed to the wall.
It was neatly laid out there, with no blood flowing out in a pool of blood. Only some red and white sticky substances could be seen, revealing a sense of horror.
"Is this, Anbu?"
Kato Dan also followed, and when he saw the mask and forehead protector, he couldn't help but blurt out in astonishment: "Why are Konoha's Anbu here?"
yes.
Why is Konoha's Anbu here?
Why did you come here before them?
“…”
Tsunade's eyes flickered slightly, and a hint of coldness flashed across her eyes. She had already guessed the reason.
"It was placed here on purpose."
Jiraiya walked over, took a look at the location of the heads, and gradually frowned: "The murderer beheaded them and placed them here. I'm afraid he left them for us on purpose."
"It could also be a disguise." Kato Dan said suddenly, and then he took off the two masks, looked at the two faces and said with certainty, "I have never seen these two people in Konoha."
Hearing this, the anger in the eyes of the other jonin almost became tangible.
They obviously didn't think that much and just thought that the murderer was slandering and provoking them!
"You guys continue."
Tsunade avoided Jiraiya's gaze, turned to look at the stairs leading to the second floor, and said calmly: "I'll go to the higher floors to take a look."
After saying that, she walked over there without looking back.
"Hey, wait a minute!" Jiraiya came to his senses and hurriedly followed him, "Your injury hasn't healed yet, please be careful!"
Watching the two people's backs disappear before his eyes, Kato Dan scratched his head helplessly.
"Collect the bodies of our two 'colleagues' and see if there are any complete heads to take back."
He turned his head and looked at the people behind him. His narrowed eyes flashed with a hint of deep meaning, and he said with a sad face: "This is really troublesome."
The invasion of the Land of Whirlpools by the Kirigakure Village may have encountered unexpected changes.
For example, Anbu ninja...
No, it should be said, Root Ninja.
Who killed them here? Does it mean that the remaining members of the Uzumaki clan have begun to have inappropriate thoughts?
Thinking of this, Kato Dan frowned and couldn't help but sigh in his heart: "It has been a troublesome year.”
