Both sides of the empty path are covered with white flowers.
Black shadows appeared from the end and edge of the road, each with a child under ten years old, walking in union towards the bluestone tower in the distance, like devout believers on pilgrimage heading towards the other shore.
They seem to have white flowers on their chests, but if you look carefully with your eyes wide open, you will find that they are not white flowers at all.
Instead, they are dry fingers one after another, just plums that the shadows chat with to quench their thirst.
They gathered in front of the stone door covered with three-dimensional paintings and patterns.
They held there hands together and placed them on their chins, lowered their head and said nothing, making no movement, like countless silent statues.
Click! Click, click, click!!
After a moment, the thick stone door slowly opened inwards.
A gust of cold and damp wind blew out from inside, accompanied by a whisper that was even more creepy than the cold wind.
Inside the sleepy stone tower, hundreds of candles were lit, emitting a strange rancid smell.
"Lord, I worship you, open before you, Lord, with my hands raised, I fall down before your seat..."
People who stepped into the stone tower began to sing in low voices. The voices of men, women, old and young, countless voices were intertwined like silk.
The candlelight on the wall kept flickering, casting dim shadows on the many believers.
I don't know if it's because of the cold wind they set off, or because of the deep resentment and hatred in the wind..
quack! quack!
The cry of the carrion crow rang in the sky above many believers. It stood under the stone tower and pecked at black feathers, its scarlet eyes as red as weeping blood reflecting on the humans below.
At this time, one of the them lowered his head suddenly raised his head and looked straight at it.
"quack!"
The crow tilted its head in a humane manner, as if it was still wondering why it was different from before.
The next moment, before it could react, the crowd completely entered the stone tower.
Bah!!
A sharp scarlet spike penetrated the crow's body, and it fell down weakly before it could even let out a cry.
"The unpleasant sound of a crow."
In the crowd, a young man withdrew his gaze and opened and closed his lips slightly: "What a tasteless guy."
Nagato and Yahiko nodded in agreement, feeling that they were completely inferior to the white pigeons in Akatsuki City.
The man who spoke first was Kumokawa, but his appearance had already changed. He looked like the young man whom the old man had left to monitor them.
The [Carnage] template's [Camouflage] ability is really useful, as can be seen from the man's horrified expression before he was killed.
“...”
Nagato frowned, looked around, and opened and closed his mouth slightly: "Such a force actually exists on the border of a small country?"
"It's normal, or it's just because of being weak." Kumokawa shook his head and said calmly, "In this world, if there was no misfortune, no death, no pain, there would be no gods and demons."
They have arrived at the stone tower, which has enough seats to accommodate more than hundred people. The overall structure presents a right triangle, supported by three dark red stone pillars.
A huge stone statue with no facial features is located at the apex of an equilateral triangle. It seems to be looking at its followers, but it cannot feel any majesty and sacredness. The only thing it feels is suppressed evil.
Because underneath It is an altar composed of countless pale skeletons, and each skull appears to be extremely small and even thin.
And right in front of the faceless stone statue, the kind-hearted "Uncle Kayama" was sitting on the altar, wearing a set of luxurious black robes.
There was a strong stove burning charcoal beside him, and the flickering light of the fire provided maximum illumination for the entire tower.
The crowd that poured in in an orderly manner was like a black wave. They sat in their seats silently, spread a layer of white cloth on their knees and bowed their heads together.
Kumokawa also sat in the second last row and quietly twisted the white cloth with his hands.
"What is this?" Behind him, Yahiko murmured in a low voice, his face full of confusion.
He and Nagato stood like the other children, and it seemed like there was no seat for them from beginning to end.
"Everyone..."
Kayama stood up and stood in front of everyone, looking down at the believers.
He draw three lines on the chest to form an equilateral triangle shape, pray devoutly and whisper: "Praise my Lord, death is rebirth!"
"Praise be to my Lord, for death is new life!"
The rest of the believers spoke in unison, drew a triangle with one hand, and then lowered their heads and chanted devoutly: "Only the Lord is with me. In this desolate and desperate place, the Lord bestows upon me abundant grace, and I offer my faith to the Lord..."
Ding! Ding! Ding!
The old woman next to Kayama stood up and rang the huge copper bell and the wooden knocker.
The bells reverberated throughout the enclosed space, and the deafening sound was enough to give a splitting headache.
However, it did not overwhelm the singing of the believers.
The noble and long chanting like a hymn echoed, containing an extremely strong sense of epicness and solemnity, and the ethereal syllables reverberated and swirled so much that the skull resonated.
Praising the life that is about to die and the new life that is about to be born.
Mysterious, solemn...
"Three times, three rings." Kumokawa's eyes flickered and he couldn't help but chuckle softly, "This is the death knell."
The extremely weird and bizarre scene in front of him reminded him of the so-called "Mass”
After reading the Bible, there is the so-called Holy Sacrifice.
--The Holy Communion, also known as the Lord's Supper.
A ceremony in which Jesus sacrificed his flesh and blood on his behalf to forgive mankind's sins.
The bread in the Eucharist represents the body of Jesus, and the grape juice symbolizes the precious blood shed by Jesus, thereby showing that the life of the Lord is with the believers.
"If it is similar logic, the so-called Holy Communion, how will they twist it..."
Under Kumokawa's gaze, in the pious chanting.
call!!
Kayama suddenly opened the black cloth covering the altar.
And on top of the skull altar, there lay a woman with a painful expression. Her abdomen was bulging very high. It was obvious that she had been pregnant for several months and was about to give birth.
Instantly, the chanting in the entire tower became more enthusiastic, and all the believers sat up straight and raised their heads.
Staring at the woman on the altar, the gaze under the black hood was extremely hot, even higher than the flames in the furnace, like a pilgrim seeing the other side of faith.
However, pilgrims will not show their greedy face like them, grinding their teeth and sucking blood!
"Ah!!"
In the reflection of the woman's trembling pupils, the believers took off the hoods of their black robes, chanted loudly with their whole bodies trembling with excitement, and in union they picked up the white cloth on their knees and covered their heads with it.
It seems that they wants to block the "Lord"s sight and prevent the "Lord" from seeing their greedy and ugly face.
"They..."
At this moment, even Yahiko, who had a weak brain, instantly guessed what was going to happen next.
On the altar, Kayama took out a sharp black spear from the sleeve of his black robe.
"Asshole!" In an instant, the veins on Yahiko's forehead burst out, and the flames were reflected in his eyes.
But he promised the boss before he came that he would never act without instructions...
With a gentle smile on Kayama's face, he raised his spear and stabbed the woman.
Uncontrollable anger surged from his heart and rushed through his body to his brain in a moment.
Tolerate? Bear with it! I can't bear it anymore!
Sorry, boss!
Yahiko suddenly stepped on the seat in the front row and rushed to the altar with an angry expression.
However, before he could rush forward.
boom!!
Dark red blood mist instantly rose into the sky, like a coquettish flower blooming, spreading around like smoke.
The originally high-spirited chant was interrupted and fell into a deathly silence.
"Believers will kneel down and pray for the oracle and the gospel."
In the blood mist, Kumokawa's gentle voice came out, laughing: "The blasphemer can only sharpen his blade and cut away the whole Blood and Blood!"
Evil God?
The evil god can't be my "master" yet!
