Tick tock...tick tock...
In the white ward, the liquid from the infusion tube is dripping, and the lines on the electrocardiogram monitor are beating rhythmically.
Outside the window, the moon hung high in the night sky, reflecting a cool light on the edge of the bed.
On the only hospital bed, Tsunade slowly opened her eyes, turned her head blankly to the bedside, and saw messy long white hair.
"Hoo! Hoo!"
Sitting on the chair next to her, Jiraiya folded his hands, lowered his head and closed his eyes for a nap, still snoring slightly.
This guy used to snore loudly, but now...
Thinking of this, Tsunade's eyes were a little dazed, and she subconsciously extended her right hand to him.
But at the next moment, her pupils shrunk suddenly, a subtle coldness arose on her body, and her groggy consciousness gradually awakened.
The memories in her mind began to rewind, like a fish swimming upstream, quickly avoiding trivial debris and reaching the top of the river.
The end point of the final stay was the ultimate pain, the fire that seemed to set the whole world on fire, the chuckle that still seemed to echo in the ears, and the panicked figure running towards her.
The memory ends here.
A strong sense of fear surged out, followed immediately by a sickening feeling of nausea.
Along with the pain that resuscitated and spread in her body, Tsunade's face turned pale as her color had returned, and she instantly lay on the bedside and started retching.
"Ugh! Ahem!!"
Because her voice was so loud, Jiraiya's body trembled, and he suddenly opened his eyes and turned to look at the hospital bed.
"Tsunade!"
After seeing Tsunade who was retching and coughing, he reached out his hand in panic and stroked her back: "Slow down, your current body..."
But the effect was unsatisfactory, and Tsunade continued to cough.
"Ahem! Ahem!"
It felt like she was coughing out her lungs, and her coughing sound was extremely hoarse. It sounded like a broken bellows, and was even shriller than the wind outside the window.
Her left hand grasped Jiraiya's palm tightly, and some of the long pointed nails dug into the back of the hand.
A flash of pain flashed in Jiraiya's eyes, but he held her wrist with his backhand.
After about half a minute passed, the sounds of retching and coughing in the ward gradually subsided.
Instead, it fell into a chilling silence, and you could even hear the clear sound of water dripping to the ground.
"Huaa!"
Jiraiya exhaled, soothed his facial muscles, a smile appeared on his sullen face, then he scratched his head and said with a silly smile, "How do you feel now?"
Tsunade released her hold on Jiraiya's left hand and said in a hoarse voice, "I had a dream."
"A nightmare?" Jiraiya smiled and whispered, "It's just a dream."
“..." Tsunade sat up straight in silence, turned to look out the window and smiled inexplicably: "I dreamed that my right hand was useless."
The exaggerated smile on Jiraiya's face stopped, and he could no longer look carefree.
Only one window away is the bustling Konoha.
Even at night, there are still sparks of light, and the turbid yellow street lights are like veins, extending throughout the corners of Konoha's streets, and the night is illuminated brightly by those lights.
The noise of the villagers in the bustling streets filled the sky with a hot breath, giving Konoha a completely different vitality, and no trace of the suffering of the war could be seen.
Only those hurried figures can prove the tension of the current situation.
And these beautiful and lively scenes are all scenes outside the ward.
In the ward, Tsunade looked down at her right arm.
The bright window glass reflected her face.
Haggard, pale, weak, fragile...
As the best medical ninja in Konoha and even the entire ninja world, Tsunade could feel the chakra flow in her right hand extremely slowly.
The entire arm was covered with countless small openings that looked like thorns piercing the tips of the roots, thus cutting off the veins in her arms that were used to circulate and conduct chakra.
That's not a dream.
That's her reality.
---------
Creak.
Jiraiya opened the door to the ward, but paused when he stepped out and looked back at Tsunade on the bed.
She lowered her eyes, hiding weakness in her eyes.
The prosperity outside the window and the pain inside the window are obviously in the same place, but they seem to be separated by different spaces.
Jiraiya, who has always been proud of Konoha, felt for the first time that it would be nice if Konoha's nights were not so lively.
If it weren't so bright outside, the face on the glass would be cloudy and wouldn't be so fragile and pale.
The unmodified reality is too real and cruel for her now.
"Well"
Sighing deeply in his heart, Jiraiya closed the door to the ward.
Outside the door is the corridor of the hospital where people come and go, and the light illuminating the floor looks a bit cold.
"Jiraiya-sama."
A female doctor walked up to Jiraiya and bowed gently, and whispered with the respect and apology of a subordinate to a superior. "Sorry, this is the limit of what we can do."
"With Konoha's current level of medical ninjutsu, we can only restore Tsunade-sama's arm to normal mobility, but the countless veins in the arm..."
She didn't say the last words, but Jiraiya understood what she meant.
--That is irreversible damage.
In other words, from now on, the power of Tsunade's right arm, due to the inability to conduct chakra, is almost the same as that of ordinary people, at most the level of a samurai.
In fact, even the medical ninjutsu that she is best at cannot be used.
Jiraiya couldn't imagine the pain in her heart. She was already sad because of the death of her brother Nawaki, and she still carried the trust of the Konoha ninjas. She had been under a lot of psychological pressure recently.
Now, however...
"It doesn't have to be like this, Doctor Muramatsu, you have done your best, and I am very grateful to you." Jiraiya's cheek twitched, and he said with a bitter smile, "Tsunade should know it in her heart."
After all, that masked bastard's attack was not to "cut off", but to use fine air blades to stir wildly in her body.
The terrifyingly precise control and form changes of the Wind Release Chakra, even if Jiraiya did emergency treatment in time based on experience and intuition, and did not let the air enter the heart, brain and other fatal parts, it was still not something they could do through surgery.
Even the "Mystical Palm Jutsu", which is a high-level medical ninjutsu, can only improve the healing ability of wounds or affected areas.
Even if she can be warmed up bit by bit in this way, it is unlikely that she will be completely restored to her original state. If too much yang chakra is output into her body, it will even destroy the normal circulatory system in her body.
It's like a well-ordered "thread" has been broken. Even if it is reconnected, it will become a mess with the original "thread".
Perhaps the "Yin Seal" that Tsunade has not yet learned, and the "Ninja Art Creation Rebirth — Strength of a Hundred Technique" that is still being imagined, can hope to carry out such complicated and cumbersome repairs.
But now that one hand is disabled, it can be said that she is far away to perfect the secret technique.
The only way Jiraiya can think of now is to find Slug Sage or Great Toad Sage.
"The inability to cure Tsunade-sama is due to our incompetence and dereliction of duty." Dr. Muramatsu shook his head guiltily, "Obviously you have been protecting us on the front line.”
The front line, the war...
Jiraiya breathed a sigh of relief a little tiredly, waved his hands and walked away without saying a word.
Tsunade was in a coma for nearly three days. Orochimaru had returned from Hidden Cloud Village, and the mission seemed to have been successfully completed.
The Kumogakure Village, which suffered heavy losses and was too busy to take care of itself, temporarily lost the intimidating power of the Eight-Tailed Jinchuriki, leaving only the Two-Tailed Jinchuriki who can control the power, and was no longer able to intervene in the subsequent war.
But….
Orochimaru's face and condition didn't look good either.
Especially after hearing that Tsunade was injured by the guy wearing a blank mask, the originally pale and sickly face became almost difficult to see.
But no matter how Jiraiya pressed him, he remained silent.
"There's been a lot of bad luck lately."
Jiraiya leaned on the dimly lit stairs and looked up at the bright full moon outside the window.
In a daze, he seemed to see the bright slash again and the fire tornado rolled up by waving his hand.
And Tsunade's frightened face when she mentioned that guy.
Just...a gift from the first meeting?
Muji Ninjutsu? ( No hand Sign Ninjutsu )
Or something?
What that masked bastard said was like passing by and throwing away a greeting gift.
Jiraiya lowered his head in annoyance and punched the wall beside him. His face was dark in the shadows and he whispered: "What a disgusting guy!”
"Next time we meet, I must take off your mask and see clearly what kind of ugly face is underneath to develop such a vicious and despicable ninjutsu!"
"Sure!!"
At the same time, at the border between the Country of Fire and the Country of Yu, Kumokawa suddenly sneezed.
"What's wrong?" Nagato frowned, turned around and asked, "Are you ill?"
"It's okay." Kumokawa rubbed his nose and said with a smile, "Someone must be praising me."
Tsuyu originally suggested taking a detour to the Country of Whirlpool. After all, the border of the Country of Fire was now under martial law, and someone who was accidentally discovered could easily get into trouble.
But Kumokawa finally chose to rush directly through the border of the Land of Fire.
There is no other reason, and he has no prejudice against Konoha.
Just because the Fire Country and Konoha blocked his way.
"However, there is an unexpected surprise." Kumokawa thought, sinking his consciousness into his mind..
A new character template shone brightly, and after seeing the name of the character, the expression on Kumokawa's face became a little strange.
"Why is this thing?”
