The top floors of the administration building cut through the dark, misty sky, Like a skinny giant wearing a gray coat, quietly watching over this land.
This is the highest place in the entire Akatsuki City, and it is also the place where the bell rings at dawn.
The person responsible for ringing the bell is the one who wakes up at night.
Creak!
The door on the top floor of the administrative building was pushed open, causing a chaotic airflow. Nagato walked in wearing black clothes and holding a black umbrella.
This floor was already filled with figures all dressed in black, wearing white masks and exuding a cold and chilling aura.
Even though the top floor seemed overcrowded, there was still no sense of noise at all. Only footsteps and the rustle of clothing could be heard, and only occasionally could one hear low-volume discussions.
Even in the silence, with just a glance from each other, they can complete the division of Labor with a tacit understanding.
They are like black owl birds, running around at different people's funerals.
Even when they saw Nagato walking in, they didn't react at all.
Nagato didn't pay any attention to this, walked into the room gently, and then walked straight into the bathroom.
After closing the door and checking the lock to make sure no one would suddenly break in, Nagato leaned against the door tiredly, covering his waist with one hand and taking off his clothes with the other.
The clothes inside the windbreaker were soaked with cold sweat. After peeling off the bloody bandages layer by layer, a scabbed and split wound on the right lower abdomen was revealed.
Nagato bit the towel in his mouth, took out the medical kit from the cabinet without looking back, took a few deep breaths and exerted force, gritted his teeth and carefully wiped the wound with an alcohol cotton ball.
"Well!!"
The severe pain caused him to nearly lose strength. His vision suddenly went dark, and it took him half a minute to slowly regain his vision.
He applied special ointment until the wound stopped bleeding, took out gauze, pressed it on the wound and wrapped it with a bandage.
Nagato grinded his teeth, squinted his eyes and cursed in a low voice: "A guy of that level can still make me so embarrassed.”
I originally thought that the guy codenamed "Owl" was just a guy who played a supporting role, but I didn't expect that the other party's perception ability was strong enough to detect me and he even suddenly appeared behind me. (Perception=Sensory)
Finally, just like what my brother said meaningfully just now.
The counterattack before his death still injured him.
The large amount of adrenaline secreted prevented him from feeling pain at the time, but after the tight nerves were released, the pain became even more intense with a vengeance.
"Haaa!"
Nagato exhaled a little irritably, pushed back his sweat-soaked red hair, lowered his head to untie the black bandage in front of his eyes, closed his eyes and raised his head to face the bathroom mirror.
After a moment, his trembling eyelids slowly opened, and his whole demeanor changed instantly.
What kind of eyes are those!
The purple circular serpentine lines extend inward on the pupils, and seem to squirm slightly as the pupils shrink under the light. The purple shimmer in the depths is like a will-o'-the- wisp.
While giving people a sense of coquettish beauty, it is also full of a profound aura of evil, making people feel psychologically uncomfortable.
“...”
The mirror reflected purple eyes full of aggression, and those eyes reflected Nagato's pale face, with a look of disgust rising uncontrollably on his face.
As his perception became more and more powerful, he became more and more aware of the evil feeling in these eyes, and the chakra was filled with a disgusting aura.
The foul smell had no resemblance to his own, and he could even feel that his own chakra was being reversely infected.
Nagato also believed in Kumokawa's excuse that seemed to be unintentional.
--These are indeed a pair of "cursed" eyes!
According to the original plot development, he should have met Jiraiya who was looking for the prophesied child, and thus be regarded as a hope for peace.
But unlike the original development, Kumokawa found Nagato first.
He did not put Jiraiya's hope of saving the world because of these eyes, nor did he regard these eyes as something extraordinary, nor did he regard them as a life-saving straw because of Yahiko's death.
There was no preconceived cognition given to him by Jiraiya, plus the Uzumaki clan's innate perception ability was so powerful that it could judge whether the other person was lying by sensing other people's chakra.
Nagato easily noticed the abnormality of these eyes, and through his memories he could smell more of the horror of thinking.
He once briefly sensed a feeling of being watched, but that feeling disappeared almost instantly, so short that he even doubted whether it was an illusion he had created.
"......it does not matter."
He slowly closed his eyes, tied the black bandage again, and whispered: "It's just a pair of eyes, that's all!"
If that's the case, then there's no need.
Nagato's downcast face was full of indifference, and the words in his mouth seemed to be talking to himself or to himself in the mirror.
The most important thing now is to get things in order.
Let's go see the "relatives" which my brother spoke of.
—---
"A pair of cursed eyes? Suspicion can reversely affect the owner's sanity?"
Looking at the conclusion given by the "psychiatrist" in the report, Yahiko's thick brows knitted tightly and whispered: "Is there really such a terrible thing?"
Apart from Nagato, there were thirty people recorded in this report.
Of course, everyone is anonymous except for Nagato.
"That psychiatrist is a guy with special and rare talents."
Kumokawa knocked on the table and explained casually: "Her main task is to serve as the 'psychiatrist’ of Akatsuki members, observing and evaluating their mental state through questioning and contact."
These thirty people are the most typical representatives. Their problems are emotionality, nightmares and bloodlust.
Kumokawa was not too surprised by this result.
After all, even children under the age of ten have several lives on their hands. Even in Konoha, the leading teacher will protect the genin while the genin kills bandits.
Uchiha Fugaku even went so far as to bring his three-year-old son to the battlefield so that he could witness with his own eyes the people who were fighting and hating each other in the war.
When Itachi asked him why people who were strangers to each other were fighting pointlessly, Fugaku said of course: This is not a fight between people, but a fight between countries.
Yes, that's right.
Every country seems to have endless reasons, and every country seems to have endless demands.
Resources, hatred, politics, population, environment...
Since we are human beings, we have our own demands. If we have demands, we will develop desires and then squeeze the living space of others.
But instead of thinking about how to make a big plate, they stared at the cake and beat themselves to death…
Of course, Kumokawa had no dissatisfaction with the ninjas. He just felt sorry for their deaths. If they had become tools in his hands, they would have been able to create more value.
Endless wars, years of conflict.
Human life is like fine snowflakes, turning into incomplete mist in the flames of war.
You don't even need to touch it, it will melt into the environment.
With the harsh environment and cruel and bloody education methods of the ninja world, which is full of wars, it is strange that these guys who have been trained to be executioners since childhood do not have psychological distortions.
In contrast, Kumokawa still attaches great importance to Nagato's mental state.
What he wants is military strength, so that he can serve as an instructor even after retirement, not a group of insensitive killing tools that can only be scrapped at home after the war ends.
Without the thought to control powerful strength, he is just a rampaging barbaric maniac.
After several psychological counseling sessions by the "psychiatrist", the psychological problems of Akatsuki members were relieved a lot.
"Well."
Thinking of this, Kumokawa sighed with a headache and murmured: "In the final analysis, we still need military restructuring and education reform..."
If you want to completely reform the ideological outlook of a country, the system will always be the ultimate issue that cannot be ignored.
The important economic pillar of Ninja Village, in addition to the daimyo's allocation, is the so-called mission share.
Ninja actually earns money by completing employment tasks, of which Ninja Village only serves as a platform to draw commissions from it.
This kind of complete mission employment is basically a mercenary organization.
During the war, the reason for gathering these "mercenaries" became the so-called "family and country".
It's simply nondescript. How can it look like the highest military and defense institution?
"That's right, boss."
Yahiko looked away from the report, looked up at Kumokawa and asked curiously: "What kind of 'psychiatrist' is this, is he still in the city?"
"...her."
Kumokawa came back to his senses, looked out the window and shook his head with a smile. His eyes were looking at the northeast, and he said calmly: "She was sent by me to the Kingdom of Thunder to perform an important mission."
"I told her that studying medicine can't save the Land of Rain, nor can it save the ninja world."
Boom!!
At the same time, on a towering mountain peak filled with clouds and mist, Kumogakure Village was awakened by the thunder wrapped in a white python crossing the horizon.
"Ah sneeze!"
In the hospital ward of Kumogakure Village, a young woman wearing glasses sneezed.
"Doctor?" The man sitting in front of her subconsciously showed concern.
His dark-skinned face was painted with dark blue diamond-shaped makeup lines, and his half-white, half-green hair looked particularly weird. His whole person exuded an aura of confusion that was visible to the naked eye.
"Don't worry, Blue B." The woman waved her hand, her temperament returned to its original gentleness, she looked at the man and smiled slightly, "Let's continue the previous topic." ( Blue B = Fukai )
"Does it hurt to be a jinchūriki?”
