In the early morning.
The originally heavy downpour has subsided a lot, and you can only vaguely see a thicker mist gradually rising.
There was also a huge black ship, passing through the mist on the river and gradually stopping at the port.
In response, the woman on duty at the port just looked at it from a distance, as if she recognized the owner of the ship, showed a normal smile, and let it go without even stepping forward to inquire or conduct an investigation.
But just as the woman was about to leave, she heard a shout from the boat.
"Fuiame!"
The woman called "Fuiame" stopped and turned to look at the two figures walking in the distance.
Especially after seeing the girl running towards him with short legs.
The woman opened her arms subconsciously.
"Aunt Fuiame! Hug!"
Pooh! Poof!
Shaoyu jumped directly into the woman's arms and rubbed her hard, burying her little face in her soft parts and making coquettish sounds.
"Hey! Shaoyu?"
A gentle smile appeared on the woman's face. She looked up at Tsuyu who was approaching and said in surprise, "Mr. Tsuyu, didn't you go to purchase goods? Why did you come back so soon?"
"Oh, We met a group of water thieves on the way. What a bad luck."
Tsuyu stopped, scratched his head with a simple smile, sat down next to the woman in a familiar manner, and said in an envious tone: "Speaking of which, your life is really comfortable. "
”A woman like me who no one wants has no choice but to live like this." The woman covered her mouth and chuckled, seeming to be laughing at herself, but her eyes looked at Tsuyu with some resentment.
"...Do you have time now?"
Tsuyu scratched his head, hesitated for a moment, seemed to have made up his mind, and suggested: "Would you like to go for a drink? I am friends with the owner of the newly opened izakaya next door. The food and soju are very good."
Hearing this, the woman raised her eyebrows and seemed surprised by his initiative today, and asked jokingly: "Is today some kind of festival? I remember, your and Shaoyu's birthday shouldn't be today, right?"
"I was just taught a lesson."
Tsuyu sighed, remembering the conversation on the ship.
"Forgive me for being presumptuous, but as far as I know, Teirei has been dead for three years."
Kumokawa said with a very pitiful tone: "Maybe for reasons I don't know, last night, Shaoyu had a nightmare, and she kept calling her mother. Later I woke her up, held her in my arms and told her a story before she fell asleep. "
"You don't have to be so polite. After all, Shaoyu is really cute, well-behaved and sensible, and I like her very much. However, sometimes, she is so sensible that it makes me feel bad for her. If I remember correctly, she was only three years old this year. "
"It turned out that she died in the hands of water thieves... this is really regrettable, but even though I feel uncomfortable saying this. But just for Shaoyu, I still hope you can come out. "
"...Wait a minute, what image do I have in your eyes?"
"Don't think of me as someone who deserves to be hanged on a street lamp. I consider myself a leader with high moral character and caring for my subordinates, right?"
"I have told you many times that with me, as long as it does not affect the overall situation, you can choose your own life."
"Of course, I won't be polite when I really need you. Rather, you better be prepared to be woken up by me in the gentle land. I hope you won't blame me then."
Kumokawa's troubled look echoed vaguely in his ears, Making Uncle Tsuyu couldn't help but shake his head and laugh.
He quickly came back to his senses and looked at the woman in front of him.
This woman who has been waiting for him for three years at the port day and night, she is waiting for his woman.
He already knew the answer, didn't he?
"Oops! I’ve really been seen through, hahaha!"
Tsuyu laughed and scratched his head, looked at the confused woman in front of him, reached out and held her hand and said: "Sorry, I kept you waiting for too long. "
For a moment, the woman was stunned for a moment. After she came to her senses, her originally pale face turned a little red.
"It turns out that the dull Mr. Tsuyu can also have such a presumptuous side!"
She subconsciously insulted Tsuyu, but did not let go of Tsuyu's hand.
The two looked at each other, and the atmosphere gradually became ambiguous.
It wasn't until there was a faint laughter in her ears that the woman took out her hand as if waking up from a dream, and looked at the snickering girl in her arms with a blushing face.
"Then can I change my words in the future?" Shaoyu blinked and said with a smile, "Aunt Fuiame, no, it should be, Mommy."
As soon as these words came out, the woman's face suddenly turned redder. She made a vicious look, rubbed her pouty little face and said, "Yes, I will be a vicious stepmother from now on!!"
After that, she looked at Tsuyu, who was smiling at the side, and said calmly: "Tsuyu, I'll take Shaoyu to change into clean clothes first. I'll excuse myself for now."
She stood up, and just as she started to take steps, she suddenly paused and said in a voice as thin as a mosquito: " If you can, please thank Mr. Kumokawa for me. Otherwise, I don’t know how long I will have to wait to hear you say these words."
Looking at the two figures, one big and one small, gradually leaving, Tsuyu subconsciously took out a cigarette from his arms, and the smile on his face gradually disappeared and then became deeper.
"The Kingdom of Rain, the Kingdom of Wind, the Kingdom of Earth, the Kingdom of Water, the Kingdom of Fire, the Kingdom of Whirlpool, the Kingdom of Thunder... War, the disgusting war, is coming again."
He is already old.
Too old to do frontline work.
The only daughter has no talent at all to become a ninja.
"Although Mr. Kumokawa has given us the opportunity to choose a way of life that suits us, and although I don't want my daughter to choose the most dangerous front-line job, but..."
After thinking about it, Tsuyu suddenly sighed: "When I think about dying of old age in the future, I feel a little unwilling to be in bed instead of dying on the road to pursue peace, and my daughter can't take over my responsibility."
While thinking, a bucket of rain hit his fingers holding the cigarette.
He came back to his senses, looked up at the night sky that was still covered with dark clouds, and then turned to look at the room where there were faint sounds of fighting and laughter.
After pondering for a moment, Tsuyu took the cigarette back into his arms and put a smile on his face again.
Yes, war, a disgusting war...
But in order to protect everything I finally have, I can only continue to go on, otherwise I will just watch everything being taken away from me like three years ago, and my whole and beautiful family will be torn apart.
In order to give his daughter a chance to choose life in the future and to achieve the most noble goal, he and his companions were willing to use the most despicable means.
Even that despicable method is the war they hate!
Tsuyu believes that all the old friends gathered around Lord Kumokawa have this realization.
"By the way, speaking of it, Mr. Kumokawa also brought back a red-haired kid before."
He suddenly remembered the red-haired kid that impressed him deeply, narrowed his eyes slightly, and said to himself: "I wonder if the talents of the children brought back this time can match that little guy?"
That little guy is so good at both Ninjutsu and Assassination that he is even jealous and envious of him.
The red-haired kid who was lucky enough to be given a surname by Lord Kumokawa.
