Chapter 150 Who is pretending to be Giyu?
Konoha 60 years, morning.
Although it's not lunch time yet, Barbeque Q is placed on the outdoor chairs, and many people are already sitting here and there.
Uzumaki Naruto, Haruno Sakura and Uchiha Sasuke were among them. The three of them each ordered a cold drink and leaned back lazily on their chairs.
"Are you kidding me? I'm obviously already two hours late than the scheduled time, but I didn't expect Kakashi-sensei to be even later! It's really unreasonable!"
The first person to speak was Haruno Sakura who was chewing the ice cubes in the drink as if they were someone's bones.
"Konoha Hospital has a limited number of cases for interns to practice diagnosing every day! It will be too late if I go there after he has finished arranging work!"
“Itachi also told me that Kakashi is a very reliable senior. It makes me a little doubtful of his ability to read people..."
Uchiha Sasuke said casually while fiddling with his newly bought camera: "Anyway, guess what reason will he tell us today?”
“As of yesterday," Uzumaki Naruto opened the small notebook he carried with him and read: "Kakashi-sensei's reasons for being late include 'being blocked by a cat 15 times', 'sending an old lady across the street 12 times', 'I saw the clouds in the sky so I became dazed' 7 times in total, and the other reasons added up to 22 times."
"Do you really even remember this kind of thing?"
Haruno Sakura poked her head over, and then She raised her eyebrows as if she had discovered some secret, "Wait a minute, this notebook in your hand..."
She paused, "Isn't it Giyu-san's notebook? I saw this thing in the first class of Ninja School... While everyone was talking above, he was taking notes below. I thought he was practicing collecting information at the time."
“Yes, This is Giyu notebook." Naruto turned to the first few pages of the notebook and printed out the neatly arranged fonts entered in Haruno Sakura's vision.
Naruto smiled like a lucky cat: "Giyu recorded what everyone likes to eat. He knew that I like to invite others to my house for dinner, so he gave it to me before leaving Konoha so that everyone would not be picky about food."
"That's it."
Haruno Sakura nodded slightly and asked, "Can you let me have a look?"
"Okay." Naruto handed over the notebook.
You know, the whole of Konoha is very curious about Giyu, the Uchiha who suddenly disappeared from Konoha three years ago, not to mention Haruno Sakura, who sat directly in front of Giyu for three years when he was in school.
However, due to Ino's "prejudice" against Giyu at that time, she really didn't know much about Giyu.
But as we all know, whether you are a teenager or an adult, what everyone is most interested in is always how you see yourself in the eyes of others, so the first moment Haruno Sakura got the book, she was looking for her name.
[found it.]
Not only did she find it, she found it easily. Because there is more content about her than anyone else in the notes.
"Haruno Sakura, Konoha's 48th birthday on March 28th. Cherry blossom buds and sour plums. Once I passed by on the street and found myself eating sakura cake. She seemed to like it very much. Good, very good."
[Ah, I didn't expect Giyu-san to be such a careful observer. But why is it good to like eating sakura cakes? ]
Haruno Sakura temporarily put aside her doubts and continued reading, "The hair color is bright pink and the eyes are lake green. They are exactly the same. I need to get along very well so that I don't look presumptuous."
[Exactly the same? great? Need to get along particularly well? ]
Haruno Sakura was stunned for a while, and then a slight blush appeared on her cheeks, ["Does this exact sameness mean that I and Giyu-san's ideal type are exactly the same?" ]
[ Only in this way can we explain why we get along so well, right? And when the time comes, does it mean... the time when you confess your love? But when I wrote this, Giyu-san was only in the first grade! ]
It's not that Haruno Sakura has any special feelings for Giyu, whom she doesn't know very well...
It's just that it seems that this is the first time she has felt "special kindness" from her peers, and she is shy and a little happy at the same time.
[Hey, if you meet Giyu-san outside the village, how will you get along with him? ]
Sakura sat on the chair like a cooked shrimp and twisted around with her face in her hands. Naruto and Sasuke looked at each other inexplicably and shook their heads in unison.
[I always felt like she was thinking of something rude...]
Just like that, the minute needle in the clock of Barbecue Q shop turned half a circle again, and the time came to 11 noon, and the sun gradually became fierce.
The three of them complained and cursed Kakashi who was missing, and got up to find a cool place to wait.
However, at this moment, Naruto suddenly stopped and looked towards the corner at the end of the street.
The other two people were just about to ask why, when they saw several figures emerging from behind the corner a few seconds later - Inuzuka Kiba, Hyuga Hinata, Aburame Shino, and their leading Jonin Yuhi Kurenai.
"Hinata, you're back!"
Naruto waved enthusiastically, ran over without even saying hello to his teammates, and started chatting with those people.
"This guy... is telepathic, right?!"
Sasuke curled up his lips like a fugaku, raised his camera to snap a picture, and then slowly followed Haruno Sakura.
But before the two of them came forward, they heard Naruto's surprised and worried voice, "B, B-level mission? You actually received a B-level mission, so you didn't encounter any danger this time, right?”
Sakura and Sasuke, who had been in a period of fatigue for several months, looked at each other, quickened their pace and came behind Naruto, wanting to know how to receive a B-level commission.
"This mission is in the heart of the Land of Fire."
After so many years of training, Hyuga Hinata didn't blush when talking to Naruto, but she was talking a little slowly, "And...even if there is really any danger, That happened the night before yesterday."
"What does that mean?" Naruto was confused.
"Have you forgotten the earthquake at midnight the night before yesterday? Although it lasted very short, the earthquake was very strong."
Inuzuka Kiba scratched Akamaru's neck and said carelessly: "The Land of Fire is not located in a volcanic earthquake zone, so the commission we received was to investigate the cause of this earthquake. Because it was an urgent request from the Daimyo so The mission is B-level."
Then he smiled and looked at Naruto and the others with a proud look on his face, "You guys, if you stay in the village all day looking for a cat or taking care of children, you must not have thought about what this earthquake really is? You will get scared if I tell you."
"..." Seeing Inuzuka Kiba's face, Sakura clenched her molars and clenched her fists, and Sasuke also looked like he was going to receive electrotherapy.
On the contrary, Naruto had gained the samadhi of Righteousness And Bravery and was not angered.
He was stunned for a while, then directly ignored Inuzuka Kiba, and said to Yuhi Kurenai behind him: "Kurenai-sensei, you see, I didn't even torture him yet he still revealed all the mission objectives and clients. According to Konoha's rules Should he go back to school and re-study the rules and regulations?"
"Hey, Naruto, you bastard!" Inuzuka Kiba reacted immediately and his face turned red. As for the others, they laughed out loud.
"Okay, Kiba, don't be so proud next time."
Yuhi Kurenai saw that her subordinate seemed to be ashamed and wanted to dig a hole to bury himself, so she gave him a step, "But this mission itself is to be exposed to the outside world. Publicizing the investigation results is not a leak in the strict sense."
"Then, why did the earthquake happen?" Sakura asked.
"It's a bit unbelievable," Yuhi Kurenai smiled slightly. It was obvious that she finally accepted this reason. "The earthquake the night before yesterday was probably caused by a battle."
"Battle?" Speaking of this Sasuke was even more confused. He became interested, "Where? Who and whom?"
"Who it is, we can only make a simple guess now... But, do you know the Valley of the End?"
"Of course I do." Sasuke nodded, "The year before last, Hokage took our whole school to visit, and also introduced the original duel between Uchiha Madara and the First Hokage."
Haruno Sakura continued: "It is said that in addition to being of great significance to Konoha, the Valley of the End is also the most famous tourist attraction in the Land of Fire. Every year, many tourists go to the Valley of the End to pay homage to those two statues."
"But now..." Hyuga Hinata clasped her hands and said hesitantly: "They are gone."
"Gone?" Haruno Sakura blinked her eyes, "Statues are gone?"
"In the Valley of the End, the statues of Uchiha Madara and the First Hokage are gone." Yuhi Kurenai shook her head and explained: "With the Valley of the End as the center, there is an additional area of more than 800 meters. A huge pit that was wide and more than 100 meters deep connected the above-ground and underground water sources, causing a large number of surrounding land masses to collapse directly, which led to the earthquake that day..."
Looking at the three people who fell into a daze, Yuhi Kurenai added: "The Valley of the End Waterfall has become history, and now it is replaced by the 'Lake of the End' that has been filled with river water. It is as if the gods treated the earth as jelly and took away a piece of it with a spoon... ..."
"What kind of battle..." Haruno Sakura swallowed, "to cause such great damage."
“Hinata found seven huge white snake heads at the bottom of the lake through Byakugan, we speculated that one of them should be Orochimaru, the rebel ninja of Konoha."
When Sasuke heard the name, his eyes suddenly shrank: "But that guy was..."
[ Was he killed by Giyu? ]
"You don't have to think too much. For a ninja like him, life and death may be just a state."
Kurenai Yuhi sighed, "It is said that Uchiha Giyu told the Hokage a long time ago that Orochimaru may get resurrected."
Sasuke suddenly remembered that Giyu once told him that "It is difficult to resurrect a person after death."
"Kurenai-sensei, what do you mean? The person who fought Orochimaru was Giyu?"
“We don't know this." Yuhi Kurenai shook her head, "We are going to the Hokage now, hoping to get some answers. "
The three of them were silent. Yuhi Kurenai settled down again and asked them to be careful when going out to the village. Then she led her team to the Hokage Building.
"A large pit 800 meters wide and more than 100 meters deep..."
Haruno Sakura searched Konoha but could not find a building higher than 100 meters. After all, Hokage Rock is only 80 meters high, so she had no idea what this number meant. It's really hard to have any idea of this.
"Can Giyu-san really do such a thing?"
However, Sasuke and Naruto didn't seem to answer her.
"Damn it..." Sasuke punched the telephone pole on the side of the road hard, "Giyu, this guy -"
Just when Haruno Sakura thought that Sasuke, who had always been competitive, would say, "He is so strong, I must surpass him." But when she saw the latter condemning loudly with an angry face: "You are so close to home and you don't come back to see me! Is this still the behavior of a younger brother?"
[...]
Haruno Sakura, [Sasuke, you must be doted on at home...]
"Kurenai-sensei said that she can't be sure that he was Giyu."
Naruto behaved quite calmly, but his tone was also a bit depressed, "But speaking of it, I also haven't seen Giyu for 2 years. Every time I meet Kyojurou’s clone, I can’t ask him anything. I think Giyu must be busy with something very important...”
“Of course!” Sasuke snorted coldly, “Giyu didn’t come to see me, He can't be like that bad Kakashi who is deliberately trying to keep us out, right?”
"By the way, doesn't Kakashi like to compete with that uncle with thick eyebrows? I think if there is a chance in the future, we will deliberately provoke Kakashi to challenge Giyu, so that Giyu will teach him a lesson. "
“I really didn't expect that me who neither smokes nor drinks, is elegant and kind, would be criticized by his subordinates. It's really a deterioration in the world."
A lazy voice sounded above the heads of the three people.
Haruno Sakura raised her head at the same time, squinting her eyes, all looking like "It seems like the sky is full of crumbs".
On the roof of the facade house on the street, a forehead protector was tied diagonally. The masked man half-opened a dead fish eye, turning a blind eye to the condemning looks of the three people, and flipped through a page of the pornographic book.
"You actually want to provoke me to deal with an opponent that is impossible for me to win against? I think Sasuke, you want me to die. "
Hearing Kakashi claiming to be inferior to Giyu, Sasuke's mood improved a little, and he hummed and said nothing.
Sakura suppressed her dissatisfaction in her heart, with a formulaic smile on her face: "Kakashi-sensei, Kiba and the others have received B-level missions, when will it be our turn?"
“That's it." Naruto also added: "If we are still allowed to stay here doing odd jobs, then I will be like Kyojuro back then, and create a large number of shadow clones to take over all the low-level tasks in Konoha, so that the lowest level task left is B Level..."
[ This is already a threat! ]
Sakura turned to look at Naruto in surprise, [But, well done!!! ]
"Ah, regarding your next mission, this kind of thing..." Kakashi put the corner of his book against his forehead protector, "How should I put it? It seems to have nothing to do with me."
"What did you say?"
"Are you already so indifferent?"
"Itachi really misjudged you! I'm going to report you to my father!" "
“Hey, hey, hey, listen to me, okay?"
Kakashi quickly stretched out his hand to block his subordinates. The crusade was about to begin, "I mean, during the next period of time, I have another very important task to perform, so I have to temporarily entrust you to another jounin."
"I see." The three of them nodded in understanding, he turned around and left.
"Wait a minute," It was Kakashi's turn to be confused this time, "Is that it? You didn't even ask where I'm going and who will replace me?"
"But," Sakura turned her head, looking innocent. The sweet little girl likes to tell the truth the most, "No matter who it is, there can't be a worse adult than you, Kakashi-sensei, right?”
"Even if we are asked to train with that thick-eyebrowed uncle," next It was Sasuke, "At least there can be some visible progress, although there will be some aesthetic challenges."
“Besides, since it is a particularly important task, Kakashi-sensei, you must do your best, don't be afraid that it will take too much time." The last one was Naruto, "You can do fine work only by slowly working. The reputation of the village depends on jounin like you."
In this way, the three of them walked further and further, directly to the Hokage Building. It seemed like even if they couldn't find a replacement, they planned to ask the Hokage directly.
"Oh, the graduates of this class of Konoha make people so irritated with their words. I always feel a little familiar."
Kakashi sighed and put away the little yellow book, planning to go home to pack up, and then set off to the Rain Country.
About two months later, the Iwagakure Village held the Chunin Examination.
After the incident three years ago, Konoha formed a temporary alliance with the Iwagakure Village against the Kumogakure Village on the condition of releasing thirty Iwagakure jounin ninjas. Therefore, Konoha, as an ally, must also participate in this Chunin Exam; the great names of the Land of Fire will also be present.
Since the great names of the Fire Country are going to show their support, the great names of the Rain Country who are living as diners in the Fire Country must also show their support.
So even though Rain Country Daimyo had absolutely no control over the Amegakure ninjas, He still issued an "order" to Sanshouo no Hanzo in the name of the Daimyo of the country, asking him to "send the best among the young people of the Country of Rain" to participate in this chunin examination.
And Kakashi went to the Hidden Rain Village specifically to convey this "order".
[ I wonder if Sanshouo no Hanzo will blast me out with the explosive tags...]
Of course, the order is just an illusion.
The real purpose of the Hokage sending Kakashi to the Rain Country is because the food purchased by the Rain Country from the Fire Country in the past year was less than one-tenth of the previous years, which led to some landowners in the Fire Country hoarding food and losing a lot of money.
In addition, they haven't found any traces of Amegakure ninjas in the outside world for a long time. But if They don't accept commissions from foreign countries, how will Amegakure ninjas make a living?
What happened in the Kingdom of Rain to cause the above two anomalies?
This is the real purpose of Kakashi's investigation this time.
"I hope nothing surprising will happen."
Just as Kakashi walked to the door of his house, Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura also arrived in front of the Hokage Building.
Before the three of them entered, they noticed bursts of weird laughter coming from the newsstand outside the building.
"Guest, your saliva is going to drip on my book..."
"Hey, I'm so sorry, I was just admiring it!"
A white-haired man with broad shoulders and exaggerated wooden clogs squatted like a dustpan. In front of a street stall, I admired the pictures of lingerie models in a housewife magazine in broad daylight.
He rubbed the corner of his mouth and commented loudly as if no one was watching: "In the past, it was difficult to find the unique charm of mature women in those little girls who had never experienced anything in the world! Well, as a man who stands upright, I want to truly grow, you must start from something like this..."
"Elder Jiraiya."
The standard Uchiha + Hinata + Yamanaka trio of the new guard team stood behind Jiraiya.
"Please don't embarrass us. Less than three hours after you came back, twelve villagers have already reported to us that you behave carelessly and speak frivolously.”
"If this continues, we will have to go to Elder Fugaku to apply for your arrest warrant. "
Jiraiya, like Uchiha Fugaku and Nara Shikaku, became the current advisory elder of Konoha three years ago.
Nara Shikaku is responsible for the assessment and evaluation of Jonin, and Uchiha Fugaku is in charge of the security team, patrol team and police inside and Diplomatic matters of the village.
Only what responsibility does Elder Jiraiya bear? Most people in the village have no idea. They only know that this guy shows up in Konoha only every ten days, and every time he shows up the owner of the bathhouse filed a lawsuit for compensation, highlighting the characteristic of "I don't know what its use is, but the maintenance cost is very high."
"Didn't you already arrest me once and asked me to run away?" Jiraiya grinned widely and slapped the leading security team member hard on the shoulder, "The food of your security team is too bad. I won't go this time. Let me think about it, for today's lunch, I will..."
His eyes moved around the crowd, and then he immediately pointed to the particularly conspicuous Uzumaki Naruto: "I will go to his house to eat! "
Naruto, who was pointed out, took a step back and exchanged a look with Sasuke and Sakura: "I have a bad feeling..."
Sasuke remembered that he and Naruto were taken to the City of Fire to watch a movie by Jiraiya last time. The scene made him dizzy: "Our temporary boss..."
"Is it him?" Sakura's smile froze on her face.
[An adult worse than Kakashi-sensei actually appears! ]
"It's me, Toad Sage. Didn't Kakashi tell you?"
Jiraiya turned into a ball of smoke and disappeared on the spot, and appeared behind the three of them with a bang.
He held Sasuke's left shoulder with one hand and Sakura's right shoulder with the other, "Oh, young people, don't judge books by their appearance! What do you think this is?"
The three people who were in a gloomy mood just now heard this and took a closer look. He also pulled out a mission statement, with a heroic signature underneath, which was exactly Jiraiya.
"Is it an A-level mission?!" Sasuke's voice suddenly rose, and he immediately read out the above content: "Help the people of the Country of Waves drive away two mysterious ninjas who are obstructing fishing and shipping. The reward is...500,000 Ryo?"
Sakura then read: "The client, Gatō."
She pondered for a while, then raised her head and looked at Jiraiya and asked loudly: "Is it Gatō, the big boss of the shipping company?"
“ Yes, That's Gatō." Jiraiya nodded.
"But I heard that this Gatō is a famous smuggler. Rare animals and even humans are within his business scope. I heard that this guy was caught several times and was bailed out with money." Naruto was a little confused and resistant towards the mission, although the A-level mission can get him out of his boring daily life, but if he helps such a person... he doesn't know how to face Giyu.
"There's nothing wrong with what people do and what they don't do. Just because a ninja accepts a mission doesn't mean he has to complete it. However, I forgot to tell you, there's a backside to this mission description..."
As he said that, he turned over the piece of paper and said, "These are the portraits of the two ninjas that Gatō asked us to drive away."
He noticed that the expressions on Naruto and Sasuke's faces changed from confusion to solemnity, Jiraiya grinned confidently: "How about this trip to the Land of Waves, are you going?"
"Of course I want to go!" Naruto and Sasuke said in unison, and then looked at Sakura who was confused.
The latter didn't think much and nodded immediately, but immediately asked: "But, is there anything special about these two people? They are both wearing masks, so nothing can be seen..."
“This mask is the key."
Naruto unfolded the mission description, pointed to the fox beard on the mask and said: "These two masks are almost exactly the same as the ones Giyu made for us!"
____
Due to different experiences, the character's personality has changed a lot compared to the original one, leaving only the core unchanged.
