Momochi Zabuza, who was running at high speed, stopped, and his heavy breathing gradually calmed down.
He looked ahead. At the end of the white mountain road, a dark jungle covered the originally bare valley.
"The place that the bird mentioned is right around here."
The fellow travelers following him had their feet on the towering rocks, and when they spoke, they spoke in the tone commonly used by stereotypical femme fatales - speaking slowly, the tone is soft, but there is a hidden murderous intention in the accent changes of the words.
Under the huge and thin crescent moon, bursts of hoarse wind surged out of the forest, blowing the woman's long blue dress that could be used as an evening dress without affecting the battle, and at the same time gently dancing to the opponent's knees and blowing her red hairs.
"But I remember that there wasn't such a pine forest before here, right? I can't see the edge at a glance."
Terumi Mei raised her hand to straighten her hair, "Changing the geographical environment so easily is indeed a combination of water release and earth release. The product..."
"Obviously, I synthesized Melting Release and Boiling Release many years ago, and I can be considered an expert in synthesizing Bloodline Limits.”
"Only this, I have no clue at all, and Now it was used by a little girl. After learning about this, I really have to admit defeat. "
It can be heard that she is full of curiosity about the exclusive bloodline limit of the God of Shinobi, Senju Hashirama.
"If you are so interested, find a way to kill her and take her back for study. Maybe your confusion will be solved, and It can be considered a credit.”
Zabuza snorted angrily, then looked at the beautiful woman diagonally above him and lowered his brows: "Also, why are you covering half of your eyes at night? Will it not affect the observation environment?"
“Isn't there such a saying..." Terumi Mei covered the strand of red hair that covered her eyes with her left hand, stretched out her right index finger and placed it in front of her cupid-like plump lips: "Secrets make women more feminine."
"Don't always use the lines from Third-Rate Detective novels. A ninja is a ninja, it doesn't matter if It's a man or a woman. "
Although he said that, Zabuza was still aroused by Terumi Mei's secret.
"Speaking of which, no one seems to know what your right eye looks like. Could it be..."
"Could it be What?" Terumi Mei smiled jokingly, seeming to enjoy others guessing her complete face.
"Aren't you like that guy named Ao, who secretly put Byakugan and hid it behind eye patch? "
Zabuza gave a guess out of a pragmatist's thinking.
[ In that case, my wedding date will have to be postponed to the next life.]
Terumi Mei thought about how one of her eyes was Byakugan, and forced a smile: "No, Good riddance. I made a vow when I was little that no one would see my full face until I got married.”
"If you really want to know, introduce some reliable men to me. Of course, forget it, a weirdo like you who has no eyebrows, speaks poorly, and likes to wrap his face in bandages. Secrets will make women more feminine, But you can't make a man more masculine."
"That's a lot to ask for."
Zabuza said nothing more and walked straight towards the black shadow.
"Didn't that bird tell us to wait here?" Terumi Mei reminded: "In order to ensure the safety of the child, We came here as honest guests. Don't make your own decisions and do unnecessary things. It will only cause misunderstandings."
Hearing Terumi Mei mention "that child", Zabuza paused, and then retorted angrily: "It's your business to be an honest guest, I didn't come here just for that useless tool. Dealing with the Wood Release Ninja for the sake of the Village is the real purpose of my trip."
"It's such a bad thing to say a tool and a waste..."
Terumi Mei teased: "I don't know who these two are. I had to travel all night, so I couldn't even get a beauty sleep. After returning to the village, I have to go on a blind date.”
"Oh, it's because of this kind of dishonest personality that there are so few people in the village who support you.”
"I saw Haku's confidence in you before. I thought of you as a competitor. I didn't expect that there were only twenty-two people who chose you as Mizukage in the end. Thinking about it makes me laugh a little.”
When his sore point was mentioned, Zabuza suddenly turned around gloomily: "So what, there are so many people supporting you, but as soon as that brat Hozuki Mangetsu came back, didn't those people also change their minds? "
“The one who is now taking the responsibility of Mizukage is Him. As a result, that guy, as soon as he came on stage, accused me of using Haku to collude with Konoha's ninjas..." As he said, he pointed to the black outline of the jungle: "The girl named Kocho Shinobu is now the most wanted criminal in the village.”
"If I can kill her and take her back, I can not only get rid of this suspicion, but also gain the trust of the old Genji. Now that the other party has revealed his location, isn't this a God-given opportunity? "
How about, Don’t you want to join me and turn around and slap that kid (Hozuki Mangetsu) in the face?
"Think about it. He made such a big mistake just a few days after becoming acting Mizukage. Maybe that position will go directly to you."
Terumi Mei shook her head, not convinced by Zabuza's overly obvious incitement: "You take it for granted. You have also seen the fate of Gen Shinichi's group. Let's not talk about whether we can do it..."
“Gen Shinichi died because they didn't understand the principle of using all your strength to fight against a rabbit. He still divided his troops to fight in the woods, he deserves to die."
Zabuza was very persistent and rudely interrupted Terumi Mei's analysis: "Besides, while he was recharging his strength in the village, I was carrying out extremely dangerous tasks everywhere. Although that guy and I are both jounin, our abilities are not comparable at all.”
"No matter how strong this kid is, She has just awakened the Wood Release. How can she be compared with the guy who cut out a training ground with one sword??”
"It's already a miracle, such a character only comes out once in a hundred years."
"But have you ever thought about..."
Terumi meditated comprehensively, "If you really do this, how will you face that child in future?”
"According to the letter the bird brought, Haku and the little girl named Kocho Shinobu seem to be very good friends.”
"Let's not talk about the authenticity of the letter. In the life of a ninja, friends are just tools for each other to use each other, just like the relationship between you and me. "
Zabuza gritted his teeth, and then said the most sincere words tonight: "In short, if you want to get rid of Haku's reputation as a traitor, killing the owner of the bird is the only way at the moment! Otherwise, he will always have to face the threat of being chased by the Kirigakure hunter-nin Corps.”
"Whether you are willing to help me or not, I must do it! "
It can be seen that in order for Haku to return to Kirigakure justifiably, Zabuza has put all risks behind him.
After saying that, he no longer waited for Terumi Mei's response and got into the woods without looking back.
"Oh, you're obviously planning to do everything for haku and yet you still call him a tool. "
Terumi Mei sighed regretfully, jumped down from the rock, and followed him unhurriedly.
After all, she couldn't really let her friends die.
"Zabuza, whether it's interpersonal relationships or your own strength, You have absolutely no self-awareness at all. "
Half an hour later.
Deep in the dense forest, in front of a mountain wall near Orochimaru's base, a white-haired boy with fangs was practicing horizontal sword swings.
"Old witch! "
Hozuki Suigetsu looked aggrieved and annoyed.
"Smelly woman! "
While waving the weapon, he maintained a special breathing rhythm.
"Evil tree spirit! "
At the same time, he did not forget to vent his dissatisfaction with Kocho Shinobu who taught him water breathing.
"When I am as good as the teacher -"
Originally, Giyu promised to come back and teach him water breathing without any other additional conditions.
"No, I want to take your hair..."
But as soon as Giyu left, Kocho Shinobu immediately changed her face and asked him to be responsible for distributing food and cleaning the base.
Only after completing the daily work can he get an hour to practice water breathing together, and He was beaten for 3/4 of this period.
"Inch by inch..."
It can be imagined that after a day's work, study, and the use of hydration techniques to recover from injuries, it left him time to train and consolidate, even less pitiful.
Now he has been learning for three days, but he is still training the Water Breathing From- Water Slash, and his progress is very limited!
"Shave them all!" "
Perhaps the accumulated dissatisfaction in his heart was too strong. This time he swung the sword with more strength and his hands were slippery. Hozuki Suigetsu actually threw the sword in his hand directly into the dark woods on the opposite side of the mountain wall. However, in his imagination, the sword fell to the ground. The crisp sound of hitting the ground was not heard, but was replaced by the familiar sound of the handle of the Sword falling into someone's hand.
"Kimimaro? Haku? "
Apart from these two people and Ranmaru, who is not very strong, Hozuki Suigetsu couldn't think of anyone else who would come specifically to see him.
[Could it be that I ran away secretly and was discovered by the old witch? ]
But as soon as he took a few steps forward, he saw a tall figure.
Hozuki Suigetsu, who was a coward by nature, sensed something was wrong and stepped back. The uninvited guest followed suit and was soon exposed to the pale moonlight.
The visitor carried a broad-edged sword behind his back. He had no eyebrows but fierce and sharp eyes. The bandage covering the lower half of his face added a bit of fierceness and mystery to it.
"You, you, you are not..." Hozuki Suigetsu backed away. At the same time, he pointed his finger at the other party, "Aren't you the substitute for the Seven Ninja Swordsmen? The one named Zabuza..."
"Hozuki Suigetsu. "
Because he had suffered a loss from this brat's brother not long ago, Zabuza looked at Suigetsu who looked very similar to the former, and narrowed his eyes slightly in disgust, "I didn't expect to meet Mizukage-sama's younger brother here. It's really unexpected.”
"Mizukage's younger brother? "
Hozuki Suigetsu had an expression of "Are you not thinking well?" : "Although Karatachi Yagura looks about the same age as me, he is actually forty or fifty years old..."
[It seems that Hozuki Mangetsu hasn't contacted him, and may not even know that he is still alive.]
Zabuza was thinking about the value of the Hozuki Suigetsu, while waving the sword in his hand and slowly approaching, "The current Mizukage of Kirigakure Village is your brother, Hozuki Mangetsu. "
"Wow. "
Hozuki Suigetsu seemed surprised, but in fact he was not very touched.
He knew that Karatachi Yagura was killed by Orochimaru, Orochimaru was killed by his teacher, and his brother Hozuki Mangetsu was not Karatachi Yagura's Opponent.
So, in Suigetsu's heart: his brother is smaller than Yagura, Yagura is smaller than Orochimaru and Orochimaru is smaller than his teacher. In the wide eyes of Suigetsu, Mizukage sounds powerful, but it seems...that's just the way it is? "
“Since He is the Mizukage, you are his subordinate, and I am his brother, so I should be considered your half boss... Can you please return my sword to me first? "
Zabuza was silent for two seconds and threw the sword back.
He understood that this brat had no ability to resist, and doing so would gain his trust.
Besides, he heard clearly what Hozuki Suigetsu had said before about "Haku" and "Kimimaro". Kimimaro belongs to the group of kaguya clan kids who escaped.
"So, what's the matter with you coming here? Could it be that you were performing some kind of mission? "
Hozuki Suigetsu stuffed the sword back into the sheath. He looked cute, but in fact he looked around with vigilance, looking for traces of other people.
He didn't completely believe that Hozuki Mangetsu had become Mizukage. Maybe these people could not be harmonious with each other. He may have come here specifically to catch him just like Kirigakure ninjas did in Yugakure.
"I was invited here by a girl named Kocho Shinobu. "
“Oh -" Hozuki Suigetsu immediately let go of his guard, "I heard that there will be a guest coming tonight, and it turns out to be you."
"it's me.”
Zabuza continued to ask, "Do you know Haku?"
“ I see him every day. "
"Well, he is mine..." When it came to describing the relationship between the two, Zabuza suddenly didn't know which word was more appropriate.
"It's a tool, I know." Hozuki Suigetsu filled in for Zabuza, stretching out his little finger to pick out his ears, "He keeps saying 'I am Zabuza-sama's tool' and 'I will do anything for Zabuza-sama' all day long. Everyone here knows it."
Hearing Haku claiming to be his tool from others, for some reason, Zabuza always felt uncomfortable.
After briefly adjusting his mood, Zabuza asked again: "Do you know how he is doing here?"
Hozuki Suigetsu stared at Zabuza's gloomy upper face for a while, sighed and said: "How could it be okay..."
Zabuza's brows knitted together, and two fierce lights shot out from his already brutal eyes.
"Here, we have to be squeezed hard by the old witch every day.”
"For example, I have to work hard for ten hours every day, and I have to be beaten for an hour after work in the evening. If it weren't for my family's secret technique to help me recover, it would be difficult for me to even stand up now."
It's rare to meet an outsider who doesn't know how to report to Kocho Shinobu, so Hozuki Suigetsu took the opportunity to pour a lot of bitter water.
"According to my observation, among those of us who are forced to work, the hardest part is actually done by Haku.”
"The old witch squeezed him the hardest, specifically asking Haku to get up to work when others were sleeping, and it was the most dangerous kind of word (referring to taking care of the cursed seal experimental subjects).”
"I heard from Ranmaru, who worked the night shift with Haku, that Haku was accidentally stabbed in the heart once..."
Hozuki Suigetsu kept talking. In his description, Haku was the worst of all, and he obviously suffered a lot. He was wronged, but obeyed the old witch's words, and was suspected of being a victim of the prisoner plot (Stockholm syndrome).
He did not lie. Because he brought himself into the past, and he lived such a life in vain.
After all, Who would you like to take care of shit and piss of those monster-like guys? You must have been forced to do so!
As he rambled on, Zabuza Momochi’s face became more and more gloomy.
Until he heard something, “Working in the evening.”, he was forced to repair the big ship during the day, and it seemed that he was called by the old witch for scolding." Zabuza's accumulated anger finally reached its peak.
He pulled out the broad-bladed sword behind him and wiped the Hozuki Suigetsu's ears, stabbing hard into the stone wall behind the latter.
"Hey!" Hozuki Suigetsu didn't open his mouth but let out a shrill scream, "What are you doing?”
Zabuza leaned down, grabbed Hozuki Suigetsu by the collar and pushed him against the stone wall, and asked in a cold voice: "Who is the old witch you are talking about?
"Aren't you the one she invited?" Hozuki Suigetsu asked back.
"You mean, the Wood Release Ninja named Kocho Shinobu.”
"She can use wood release, but she is not a ninja.” Hozuki Suigetsu corrected and suggested in a low voice: "She hates ninjas. We rarely mention this word in front of her. You'd better say less. "
[But he is with the guys who escaped.]
[Haku is also a ninja, there is no reason to be treated differently by the other party.]
Zabuza thought of the towering tree tower he saw near the rest stop that day, and the corpses of the group of Kirigakure ninjas. The corpse was so horrific that it could make even the ninjas in the blood mist feel numb. Could She be someone with a kind heart and a gentle temper?
The more he recalled the letter that the bird brought, the more suspicious Zabuza felt.
[ How could someone who could commit such a cruel act, with Haku's character, be his friend?]
[ Either the other party forged Haku's letter, or Haku was forced to write that letter to lure us here intentionally.]
[However, there are still some strange things...]
Zabuza glanced at the sword in Suigetsu's hand: "Since this Kocho Shinobu has been squeezing you, why don't you run away, and why does she allow you to have weapons? "
[Of course it's to learn sword skills.]
This was a ready answer. Just when Hozuki Suiyue was about to speak, he remembered that the guy in front of him was a substitute member of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen, and he might have the idea of breathing water.
So he immediately changed his words: "Have you seen that forest? As long as she wants, she can change the layout of the trees here at will. As for weapons..."
Hozuki Suigetsu shook the Sword in his hand and said indifferently: "What use can such a thing have in front of Wood Release? "
[So it turns out that she is relying on the Bloodline Limit to be confident, but it seems she is too naive.]
Zabuza thought about it, [But the more arrogant She is, the less She can imagine that an accident will happen... If I can hit her from a blind spot I can surely kill her.]
At this moment, Zabuza was back to the time when he thought he could kill Orochimaru with one sword.
"Do you know the way back?"
"Yeah, I Know." Hozuki Suigetsu nodded: "The layout of the trees in the inner circle will not change. "
Then he tilted his head, and there was still a little suspicion in his eyes.
His relationship with the Kocho Shinobu was already bad enough, but he didn't want to give the woman any more excuses. If he got into trouble again, he might have to go to the bathroom and clean the toilet.
" However, since the old witch invited you here, she should tell you how to get there.”
"I came early, and the crow we agreed to lead the way never showed up, so I went straight inside. "
This is the truth. Zabuza was two or three hours earlier than the agreed midnight time. He had been on the road just for this.
"Do you know where the Kocho Shinobu is now?”
"Before I came over, she seemed to be cleaning the square with those brats. I ran out secretly while others were not paying attention."
"Outdoors? "Zabuza felt that he had one more chance of success.
"Yeah, There seems to be some kind of party tonight." Hozuki Suigetsu said with disdain, "I'm too lazy to participate in this kind of team building and brainwashing activity. "
[Brainwashing activity?]
Zabuza's hostility towards the Kocho Shinobu became even higher.
" Is there any high place where you can overlook the overall situation?"
Zabuza was already choosing a hiding place for the assassination operation.
"There is a hillside outside the base with an apple tree planted on it. It is the highest place nearby."
“Then take me to that hillside."
Zabuza said: "Avoid the eyes and ears of others and try to choose a less traveled path. "
“Are you afraid of being seen by people you know and letting the village misunderstand your relationship with this place? It's not necessary. The people here have almost no connection with Kirigakure..."
“I can't take risks." Zabuza said with a dark face and explained, "The new Mizukage needs to establish his authority when he takes office. He will do anything to seize the leverage of others..."
“It sounds like something he will do."
Hozuki Suigetsu no longer had any doubts.
"That's good, so that those little brats don't stop me on the road and force me to attend the banquet."
But then, Hozuki Suigetsu's voice changed: "I will guide you instead of that bird, so you have to do something in return for me?"
[Isn't rescuing you from this dragon's den considered a reward? ]
Zabuza stared at him expressionlessly.
"Since you are Biwa Juzo substitute, your sword skills should be acceptable."
Hozuki Suigetsu looked eager to try: "When You are not so busy, how about we compete in sword skills?"
“..."
Thinking of Hozuki Mangetsu, who accused him, Zabuza looked at the brat in front of him who didn't know the heights of the sky, and nodded.
[Am I the only one who thinks this kid is in serious need of repair? ]
[With such a bad character, even if he is caught and used to threaten Hozuki Mangetsu, what effect will it have? ]
"Then let's go."
So, Suigetsu, whose mind was full of water, led Momochi Zabuza, who planned to assassinate Kocho Shinobu around the correct entrance to the square, along the winding mountain road, towards the place where Giyu, Kocho Shinobu, and Kyojuro discuss their future plans on the hillside.
As the slope gradually eased, the bare base in the valley came into view. Although he couldn't see clearly, he could generally tell that many adults and children were preparing for the upcoming banquet, setting up tables, and preparing food. The preparations were very noisy and lively.
To be honest, this was originally a joyous scene.
But to a person with a hammer, everything looks like a nail. Zabuza, who had long expected that Kocho Shinobu was not a kind person, wishfully interpreted the noise below as the crowd boiling over with dissatisfaction.
At this moment, Zabuza made a move.
He saw Haku!
Haku sat alone on a tree stump, his palms facing each other on his abdomen, his fingers slightly bent, as if holding an invisible ball.
You know, of course I understand that Haku is trying the little psychological experiment that Kocho Shinobu said, trying to find out what he really thinks.
But in the eyes of uninformed people, this action looks like a nagging sound, like a person who has suffered great mental torture and is playing with some invisible toy.
Immediately afterwards, Zabuza noticed that the distance between Haku's hands was getting smaller and smaller, and the latter suddenly covered his mouth as if he saw something unacceptable, and his whole person became visibly nervous.
[How could it become like this? ]
Zabuza regretted his decision to send Haku out of the village before the election.
He knew that it would be useless to contact Haku, who was mentally ill, so he had no choice but to turn around and urge Hozuki Suigetsu to continue leading the way.
When he was still twenty meters away from the top of the mountain, Zabuza suddenly clamped down on Suigetsu and hid behind a huge rock.
Because there was a person on the top of the mountain, who seemed to be sitting in front of a low table, concentrating on something.
Although he looked like a child with a wild hairstyle from the back, Zabuza could smell a very obvious smell of... gunpowder.
" Who is that?"
Zabuza lowered the body of the confused Hozuki Suigetsu, "Is he also forced to work here like you and Haku?"
"Ah, that guy..."
Thinking of Giyu's comment that "Kyojuro is much stronger than me", Hozuki Suigetsu commented a little unconvincingly: "Except for the old witch, he is probably the strongest person here, but I have not seen him taking action with my own eyes, I feel that there is some water in this statement..."
"Is he an accomplice of the Wood Release kid? Or a small boss or something like that?"
Since he is considered an enemy and has a certain degree of danger, Zabuza has no intention of keeping his hand. What's more, the opponent still occupies a key position overlooking the surroundings and must be eliminated.
So, in Hozuki Suigetsu's eyes, "Is there something wrong with your brain?", Zabuza silently drew out the broad-edged sword from behind, leaned down to the ground, and stepped towards him like a running black panther. Rengoku Kyojuro, who was making fireworks, rushed over.
