"Going up from here is the gate of the Temple of Fire."
Under the long stone stairs, the young man chopping wood wiped the sweat on his head and said to the two visitors from outside the mountain with bright eyes: "The current abbot of the fire temple is Master Chiriku, and I heard that even the daimyo must be respectful when meeting him.”
"This spring during the blessing ceremony, I saw him presiding over the ceremony on the mountain behind the Fire Temple, and I discovered that he could actually make the Bodhisattva with Thousand hands appear behind him, It was somajestic..."
The child couldn't stop talking about these local legends.
At first, the two outsiders listened patiently, but in the end they still had business to do. In the end, the girl among the two couldn't help it anymore and grabbed the wrist of the woodcutter boy. The latter's dark face turned red and he was nervous and speechless.
"Thank you for leading us. "
There was a flawless smile on the girl's moon-like face, and her crystal-like light purple eyes were filled with deep kindness.
As she spoke, she gently placed the square object wrapped in lotus leaves in the palm of the woodcutter boy's hand.
“This is a medicinal candy specially made by my family. After eating it, you will not be bitten by mosquitoes when you go to the mountains to chop firewood. It is very useful."
“Hmm..."
Maybe the girl in front of him was too good-looking to be real, but the boy who chopped firewood believed her words so much that he left a "Thank you sister" and then he ran away with a red face and candy.
"Thank you...sister?"
The girl stared at the retreating back of the woodcutter boy, a faint green color appeared on her forehead, and the butterfly-patterned feather fabric draped on the outermost part moved automatically.
"Is there any problem? "
Her companion has a handsome face, and he looks very similar to Uchiha Sasuke, but his face is a little less square and angular than the former who always curls his lips.
Giyu opens a pair of purple-red three tomoe sharingan eyes, The hair that has grown back over the years is like that of the stepbrothers, tied up high on the back of the head, which is quite characteristic of the ancients.
"Not counting the time when you were died, you're now twenty-one..."
"I believe that's not what he meant, and there's no need for you to mention anything. "
Kocho Shinobu skillfully interrupted Giyu's explanation, then lowered her head and glanced at her legs, and said quite confidently: "I think it is because of my height that I appear to be older than I actually am. Isn't that right? "
She walked closer to Giyu, stretched out her hand and made gestures on their heads, and murmured: "The test result this morning was 1.57 meters, which should be about 3 centimeters taller than you..."
Kocho Shinobu, physical age 12 Years old, but her height has exceeded the peak value of 1.51 meters in her previous life.
Considering that she entered puberty about half a year earlier than Giyu, this height will last for a short period of time.
Sometimes when she dreams about this in the middle of the night and she laughs out loud, that will scare Konan who lives next door to hers.
"1.55 meters." Giyu corrected: "You didn't reduce the thickness of the soles. "
“..." Kocho Shinobu took a deep breath and let it out for a long time.
There is no way. There is a good reason why a person's body cannot control his/her temper at this special age.
People who always want to lose weight don't take off their clothes first? Isn’t it normal for people who have increased their height not to want to take off their shoes before pulling the ruler? Why must they be taken off!
"You still remember the purpose of our visit to the Temple of Fire this time, right?"
Kocho Shinobu adjusted her facial expression, turned around and said to Giyu seriously: "We are not here to make friends, nor are we here to scare or offend others, so your 'six weapons' - praise, smile, give gifts, imitate, repeat and that...that something..."
"Genuine concern.” Giyu spat out a few words seriously.
Judging from the speed of the answer, he must have kept these six words in mind as if they were the breathing method and would never forget them.
"Yes, that's it. "
Kocho Shinobu clapped her hands and demanded half-gently and half-strongly: "In short, you don't need to use any of these strategies. Just let me speak the important words. Ok? "
Giyu was silent for a moment, staring at Kocho Shinobu without any change in his expression, as if he had nothing to say to her.
About five seconds later, he suddenly took the steps without saying a word, and walked straight up alone without looking back.
" Eh? Are you actually angry? It seems that I am not the only one affected by age! "
Kocho Shinobu covered her mouth and smiled while quickly following up. To use an inappropriate analogy, her deft pace made her look like a mole in a game of whack-a-mole, as if she appeared at the same time from different direction in Giyu vision.
Between a silence and a series of jokes, the two people soon arrived at the main entrance of the Fire Temple.
The ancients said: The most important thing in the country is to worship and fight.
Among them, "Rong" is the big name choose to outsource to Ninja Village, the "worship" aspect is naturally as perfunctory as possible.
Although the Fire Temple is labeled with the word "temple", there are more than just temples for Bodhisattvas - some local mountain gods and water gods. The altars of the Lotus God, and even the new gods and the Sage of Six Paths in folklore every year are also set up in the temple. Every year when praying for blessings, the daimyo sent a representative to worship all the worships places at once with the help of the monks. It stands out as a place where rain and dew are equally exposed, and no god can be offended.
On the way to the main hall on the mountain, Giyu actually saw a small shrine worshiping the nine-tailed fox on the roadside.
But judging from the damage of the shrine, it was probably more than a hundred years ago, a relic from the time when the Ninja Village system was not established. At that time, Kyuubi was really worshiped as a mountain god.
"Shinobu, look here. "
When They walked near the main entrance of the main hall, Giyu suddenly reminded her in a low voice.
Kocho Shinobu followed his line of sight and noticed that a family of three was walking out of the hall with low eyebrows. No matter their words, deeds, or dress, they were very... Rich.
From a doctor's perspective, apart from the mother, the father and daughter of this family of three have a kind of health that seems to be "overflowing" - the fair skin and rosy complexion look even better than her with Wood Release.
This is not normal.
"It seems that we have come to the right place." Kocho Shinobu lowered his brows, "Are they deeply affected?"
“It's not as exaggerated as the blood sample Muichiro sent. They are still stronger than ordinary people."
Giyu used the Transparent World and carefully observed the physical condition of that family.
"However, there has been no seafood fishing in the Country of Waves for fifteen days, which means that the father and daughter have not eaten those things for at least half a month, but they have not shown anything like the fishermen that Muichiro said. Some behaviors are similar to withdrawal reactions..."
"Fortunately, I didn't eat enough."
After hearing Giyu's "diagnosis", Kocho Shinobu's expression softened slightly, "Otherwise, it would be really troublesome. The mother doesn't look very good, is she? What's going on? Is it related to those seafood?"
"It should be a gastrointestinal problem caused by eating only vegetarian food."
Giyu repeatedly confirmed and finally came to this result, "It's a bit like Naruto when he was a child, slightly malnourished."
" Okay, after we finish our work here, let's go to their house."
When Kocho Shinobu passed by the family, she reached out and popped out a seed smaller than a grape seed, which stuck to the girl's head like a cocklebur. The heels will be buried in dust soon.
As long as they are not too far away, Kocho Shinobu can find the location of the family through the connection with this seed.
Next, Kocho Shinobu and Giyu walked around the entire Fire Temple and found six more people with abnormal physical conditions among the more than 120 tourists. The most serious one had become confused and was lying on the ground barking like a dog because he had not eaten seafood for many days.
However, his family didn't know the reason and thought he was possessed by a ghost, so they sent him to the temple to exercise the evil spirits. The treatment method given by the monks is to knock them unconscious directly.
"Fortunately, less than one in a thousand people in the world are willing to spend money to buy this kind of seafood; there are even fewer people who can eat it every day until they go crazy."
Kocho Shinobu looked at the messy cooking altar over there, and sighed semi-sarcastically: "I really have to thank Gato for setting the price so high. Otherwise, if every ninja could afford it and eat it every day in order to improve his strength, I really don't know what the world would looks like..."
"This is just the result of humans eating the offspring of animals infected with Hidan's blood, or even the offspring of the offspring."
Giyu tightened his grip on the sword hanging on his waist, his face tense like a piece of gloomy iron: "Whether the most important Hidan's heart is in the body of a certain sea creature or in the hands of some careerist, that is what worries me the most."
Kocho Shinobu looked at Giyu with a worried look.
Just as she was about to say something, a passing novice noticed the two uninvited guests with Swords.
"Hey, who told you to come in with weapons?"
One of the Monks shouted loudly. He approached and wanted to drive them away, but when he saw Giyu's eyes, he instantly recognized who he was.
"Um... please wait a moment, both of you."
A Cold sweat broke out on the Monk's forehead, and he clasped his hands together and bowed: "Abbot Chiriku is currently giving a lecture at the Sutra School. I will invite him over right away."
"Then I'll trouble you."
Kocho Shinobu responded with a Namaste, and the latter hurriedly went deeper into the temple.
"I didn't expect your face to be so useful."
Kocho Shinobu turned around and couldn't help jokingly said: "You are indeed a ruthless character wanted by three countries.”
"I heard from Miss Konan that there used to be a person in the Akatsuki organization. A very old bounty hunter, as long as the bounty is high enough, he will even kill his companion, and he has never failed. You have to be careful. It is said that when he was young, even Senju Hashirama was not necessarily his opponent. "
“Is that so?"
In the past few years, Giyu, who has frequently escalated quarrels with Kocho Shinobu into fights, was convinced, "If I see him, I will take action with all my strength. "
“Just remember. "
Kocho Shinobu looked around, and suddenly her eyes lit up.
She patted Giyu's arm and pointed to a short temple diagonally behind the main hall. On the plaque of the temple was written the four words "Ksitigarbha Spirit Sign", which seemed to be a divination: A place of good and bad luck.
"Remembering the last few years of the Meiji period, my sister, me, Kanako, Aoi, Kiyo, Naho and Sumi would go to Sensoji Temple to pray for blessings every New Year. "
A smile that was different from before appeared on Kocho Shinobu's face, and her eyes were filled with the tenderness of nostalgia.
"Although I have never believed in the blessings of gods and Buddhas, my sister has firmly believed in these things since she was rescued by Mr. Gyōmei.”
"So every time, in addition to praying, she would also ask us to draw lots. If we got a lucky draw, she would make a guard out of the paper and give it to those who didn't get a lucky draw; if we didn't get a lucky draw, she would taught us to tie the bad fortune to the tree, saying that we will let the wind blow away the bad luck..."
Then, her tone changed slightly.
"The last time I went to Sensoji Temple, my sister got a lucky draw. But I didn't expect that in less than a week after that, she would..."
“..."
Giyu looked at Kocho Shinobu and then at the temple over there, "Do You want to give it a try now?"
"I don't believe in those Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, but don't you think that Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva is very similar to Mr. Gyōmei?"
Giyu walked slowly to the entrance of the temple with Kocho Shinobu. He stood across the porch, Looking at the golden statue, he said puzzledly: "Mr. Gyōmei has hair. He (referring to Ksitigarbha) not only wears a hat, but also has a bald head. It doesn't look like he can fight very well..."
“I said It's not the appearance."
Three black lines appeared on Kocho Shinobu's forehead: "I mean the behavior."
Then she explained: "Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva once made a great wish that the hell would not be empty and he would not become a Buddha. But Mr. Gyōmei, in order to prevent the other parts of Wuxian from escaping like before, he not only put aside his rebirth, but He even gave up the opportunity to be resurrected in this world, gave it to others, and stayed in the endless hell, always on guard and under surveillance.” ( Wuxian means “no envy for anything”)
"That's what I meant when I said they were very similar. "
"I see." Giyu pondered for a while, "It's somewhat similar.”
"So, what I'm asking for this time is not Ksitigarbha's spiritual fortune telling. "
Kocho Shinobu washed her hands outside the main hall door, burned incense, knelt down on the futon in front of the Bodhisattva, and bowed three times.
"I just hope that Mr. Gyōmei can give me something like he did when I joined the Demon Slayer Corps. Warning and enlightenment..."
As if sensing something, the hanging stick outside the temple door was blown by the wind. It shook violently and threw out a short stick, which landed right at the feet of Kocho Shinobu.
"Eighth Sign, good luck. "
She recited, but she couldn't tell whether she was happy or sad. Then she looked around, but couldn't find the signed book.
At this moment, a powerful reciting voice came from outside the hall: "Eighth Sign means - don't look at the beginning and the end, the culture must be reasonable."
The two turned their heads and saw a monk with thick eyebrows and a solemn appearance, approaching from a distance until outside the palace gate.
"This sign means: the donor should not have fear of the result, because it will be a long time in the future, whether you are practicing ninjutsu or studying literature and art, it will be as smooth as cutting wheat with a sickle. As long as the benefactor keeps his heart on the right path, his life will be very happy.”
"Good afternoon, both of you. The poor monk is the abbot of the Fire Temple, Chiriku."
"Uchiha Giyu."
"I am Kocho Shinobu, his companion."
While the two responded, Chiriku was also looking at them quickly. .
Seeing the three Tomoe in Giyu's eyes, his heart suddenly trembled; but when he looked at the color of the Sharingan and thought of the information he got from Konoha, Chiriku knew that Giyu probably wasn't looking for trouble, and he felt relieved immediately.
As for Kocho Shinobu, he didn't take the other person seriously at first, until he accidentally glanced at the straight-sheath katana hanging on the other person's waist, and his half-open eyes suddenly widened.
He was once the guardian ninja of the Daimyo of the Land of Fire. He had seen illustrations of many treasures in the Daimyo's mansion, including the Six Paths Ninja Tools, and he would never be mistaken.
[That kind of craftsmanship...is one of the Kusanagi swords, the Amansugaun sword? 】
Chiriku thought of the news that had been spreading in the Land of Fire in recent days, and immediately knew the identity of this girl.
She is the one who robbed all the information on more than a dozen money exchanges in the Land of Fire!
One is the most wanted criminal in three countries, with a bounty equal to that of the Five Kage; the other just holds a weapon that can be exchanged for one Kage's head.
[Is it a blessing or a curse for two people like this to come to the Temple of Fire...]
"I wonder why you two come to the Temple of Fire?"
Chiriku, after all, was someone who had seen big scenes, and he immediately calmed down.
"Since you explained it to me and said that whatever I want to do will come naturally, then I will tell you the truth, and you will not be an obstacle to me."
Kocho Shinobu smiled.
[I don’t think I said that...]
Chiriku felt his bald head was a little tight.
Kocho Shinobu took out a card the size of a playing card from her pocket. After sealing it, she poured out a stack of documents with the gold exchange watermark from the card, not caring at all that this might reveal her identity.
"About ten days ago, a case of a noble going crazy and biting someone to death occurred in the Capital of Fire."
As soon as these words came out, Chiriku's eyes were slightly shocked. He wanted to pretend to be indifferent and didn't understand anything, but suddenly he felt the skin on his head feel like it had been scraped with a sword.
When he raised his eyes, he found Uchiha Giyu tilting his head and staring at him motionless.
He had no choice but to bite the bullet and continue listening.
"Because the victims were both nobles, the matter went to the daimyo. The daimyo calmed down the incident and sentenced the perpetrator to death. However, considering that the murder was caused by mental insanity and crazy temperament, and if there were extenuating circumstances, his family would be allowed to Please, he was sentenced to death by hanging to preserve the body."
Kocho Shinobu quickly changed the paper and summarized the contents.
"However, the night after the execution, the murderer resurrected in the morgue. In order to stop him, two more people were bitten to death on the spot. The next day, the execution official secretly reported the matter to the daimyo, who ordered the murderer to be executed in other ways. Poison, stabbing, and arrow rain were used, but they failed to kill him. On the contrary, soon after, the murderer's injuries gradually became intact. As a result, the daimyo had to order the ninja to use fire release to kill him completely. "
“But that night, there were more than twenty reports of madness from nobles or wealthy businessmen in the City of Fire. There is no official record, but it cannot be hidden from the spies at the money exchange. "
Kocho Shinobu continued: "Because some of the people who went crazy this time were of unusually high status and were not comparable to the previous ones, the Daimyo suppressed the matter and planned to find a cure for them.”
"However, these crazy people yell and scream all day long. It is extremely inconvenient to keep them in the city. Sooner or later, there is a risk of being exposed. And outside the City of Fire, the only place where the daimyo can feel at ease, except for Konoha Village, is..."
She pointed to her feet, "here,Master Chiriku."
"I don't know what you are talking about, I am just a poor monk."
Chiriku's mouth was very tight, and his jaw was almost tightened into a straight line, "I have never seen such a strange thing. I've heard of it, but I'm afraid it's all false and alarmist."
Just as Giyu was about to say something, Kocho Shinobu raised her hand to stop him. She calmly sorted out the information in her hand and sealed it back into the cards.
"Since this matter is false, then it doesn't matter if I hand over those things to the Kingdom of Earth and the Kingdom of Thunder."
Kocho Shinobu waved her hand with the same smile: "Anyway, they won't do it just to confirm a scandal. They will just come to you and turn the entire Fire Temple upside down... Of course, the information marked by the gold exchange might be more credible in their opinion."
"You..."
Chiriku's face turned pale at first, and then his aura rose sharply, and an illusory Thousand-Armed Avalokitesvara statue appeared behind him.
It is true that he is a monk, but he is also the most trusted servant of the daimyo. In order to keep the daimyo's secret, he can attack anyone.
However, the two people opposite him looked calm. They looked calm and did not look like they were dealing with a famous guardian Ninja. Instead, they looked like they were facing a child who raised the toy in his hand angrily.
"No matter who you face."
Giyu shook his head and said as if stating the facts: "You can't even last a second."
As we all know, Uchiha Giyu never lies. Even his most hated enemies would say this.
The virtual image behind Chiriku disappeared instantly, and he took two steps back.
Chiriku knew in his heart that even if he held on until he died, he would not be able to resist the illusion of the three Tomoe Sharingan.
"What do you want to do?"
"Don't worry, we didn't want to reveal any secrets from the beginning."
Kocho Shinobu clapped her hands happily, "I just hope you can temporarily lend us the patient's and a place to accommodate them."
She handed Chiriku a piece of paper, on which were written the more serious symptoms of "Seafood Eaters in the Land of Waves": "Then please think of a way, maybe you have a treatment idea, Or maybe you have cured a few people, but let the Daimyo gather all the people with the above symptoms in the Fire City here."
Chiriku took the piece of paper and read it carefully, and the more he read, the more frightened he became: "There are more than a hundred people in this situation in the Fire Capital recently?"
"That's why we need to hurry up." Kocho Shinobu shook her head: "When they all go crazy and kill people, it will be too late."
Giyu nodded solemnly, expressing his approval of Kocho Shinobu's statement.
"I understand."
Chiriku gritted his teeth, "Please come with me to get the key to open the seal of the underground palace."
“I believe you will not cause trouble."
Giyu said: "We will wait here, We have already found the location of underground palace when we were walking around just now. It’s under the main hall next to us.”."
“..." Chiriku was stunned for a moment, said nothing, and left after Namaste.
"In this way, we can observe the specific effects of the drug on real 'patients'. Only the sample brought by Muichiro is still a bit reluctant."
After Chiriku walked away, Kocho Shinobu breathed a sigh of relief.
"There is no Nezuko or Lady Tamayo in this world. We can only use the child's blood as a blueprint to make drugs that inhibit Hidan's cells. As a result, his body is always in a weak state, so he have been unable to achieve Rock Breathing to normal/constant.”
"Now Muichiro is waiting for the results of our experiment at the Shikkotsu Forest. If He was the only one left in the Land of Waves, with his character that explodes when provoked. I really can't help but worry about it.”
"I hope he can recite sutras honestly and never have any conflicts with those fishermen in the Country of Waves!"
(End of chapter)
