"Ranmaru."
"Huh?"
"Tell me, why does the teacher look up at the sky when he is urinating? There is obviously nothing there? What is he looking at? Or is there some other reason?"
It is not easy for Hozuki Suigetsu to ask Giyu about his doubts face to face.
They had been ashore for most of the day.
Although this was only Giyu's second convenience, Hozuki Suigetsu still saw some patterns.
After all, when a person urinates, his chin is twisted at a weird ninety-degree angle to the ground, so it is really difficult for others to not notice the clues. It was as if Giyu was worried that something would fall from the sky and interfere with his release of body waste.
However, Hozuki Suigetsu raised his head and looked hard. There was nothing in the air except thick fog.
"You ask me this..."
Ranmaru looked at the hazy figure six or seven meters away in the bushes with his back to them, his face was tangled, "I don't know how to answer."
After thinking for a while,Ranmaru added about his past experience: "Maybe Giyu is shy. When I first met Raiga, I needed his help when going to the toilet, and I also liked to look around. In this way, I would be a little more relaxed, otherwise I would not be able to pee, and I would feel very embarrassed."
"It's very common for people who can't urinate because other people are around. My elder brother was that kind of person before he mastered the hydration technique. I heard that every time he went to the bathroom when he was in school, he would put the water in the toilet. Others were thrown out of the window until there was no one left. Later, because he encountered a tough situation, he started to practice sword skills hard, just to be able to go to the toilet safely."
Hozuki Suigetsu gently rubbed his chin with his fingers, without any hesitation. He exposed the childhood embarrassment of Kirigakure's genius.
"But I have never seen anyone who can't urinate, and the teacher doesn't seem to be the kind of person who cares about this. Do you think he want to hide something? Which is not appropriate for such an age, Probably?"
He boldly began to think.
"You can ask him, yourself."
Ranmaru saw that Giyuu's neck posture returned to normal and knew it was time to end the topic.
"How is this possible?" Hozuki Suigetsu spread his palms with a proud expression that said I was very well versed in the ways of the world.
"I haven't learnt the most important sword skills yet. At this time, it would be too bad to know the teacher's unspeakable secrets."
“What's so bad?"
Giyu's unwavering voice suddenly appeared in Hozuki Suigetsu's ear.
The latter was frightened by the sudden movement.
He turned around and realized that in just a blink of an eye, the teacher appeared behind him out of thin air, eyes like black holes staring at him blankly.
The teacher is like this at night. Once he escapes into the shadows, he will disappear completely. He is as elusive as a real ghost, especially with that coffin board-like expression, it is really scary!
"Nothing, nothing!"
Against Giyu's suspicious gaze, Hozuki Suigetsu scratched his head and brought the topic to Ranmaru again: "Hey, this place shouldn't be far from the place that the big snake pointed out to us, right? How long do we have to go?"
"Raiga and I have been here before. About an hour's drive further north is the village where the Kirigakure Seven Ninja Swords were forged. The location is very secret. If Manda is right, Orochimaru's base should be in the valley about ten kilometers northeast of that village."
"It's that village. I heard my elder brother say that almost everyone there used to make a living by forging swords, and there were several outstanding figures in the world. Famous sword-smithing masters. Legend has it that they were able to forge seven ninja swords because they secretly enshrined the legendary Kusanagi sword and received blessings from the gods. But the Kusanagi sword was hidden by them, no matter who asked them, and won’t reveal even a word.”
When it came to famous swords, Hozuki Suigetsu was extremely excited, “Ranmaru, your eyes can see directly through the mountain. If we look more carefully, we might be able to find that sword. In that case, the teacher won't have to fight with people with that broken sword, otherwise it will look too cheap!"
“Huh? A village made of Sword-makers?"
Giyu muttered, There is some nostalgia in his tone.
After the Demon Slayer Corps was disbanded, the swordsmiths responsible for creating the demon-slaying weapons were no longer hidden.
With the help of the Uyashiki family, a large number of swordsmiths flowed into big cities like Tokyo and Kyoto, making weapons for collection and decoration specifically for nobles, royal families and wealthy people, which looked flashy.
Although the lives of the swordsmiths have improved, the Nichirin sword forging technology they were proud of passed down from generation to generation is no longer in use, leaving many nostalgic swordsmiths depressed and drinking all day long.
The steel mound where they forged swords became a frequent visiting place to the police because They often drank and caused trouble.
"It used to be like that. The whole village was obsessed with broken swords and couldn't help themselves. It was said that even a ten-year-old child could forge steel blanks independently, but I didn't know whether it was true or not. Unfortunately, after the Fourth Mizukage Yagura came to power, All the best swordsmiths were executed. Since then, the swordsmith village has been unable to produce good swords, and its relationship with the Kirigakure ninjas has not been as close as it used to be. They had to find other ways to make a living."
Hozuki Suigetsu said regretfully: "Now let alone building a chakra weapon, I'm afraid it will be difficult for them to reconnect the Thunder Blade that was interrupted by you, teacher. Otherwise, I won't..."
He won't be in Yugakure Ninja Village either and wanted to grab Giyu's sword.
Wait, if he didn't snatch Giyu's sword, he wouldn't know Giyu.
To put it this way, not only is there nothing wrong with Yagura going crazy, it is even meritorious.
When Hozuki Suigetsu thought of this, the resentment on his face disappeared a lot.
"That's right." Ranmaru added: "Being able to do some basic maintenance on the Ninja sword is the limit that the swordsmith village can do now. Most of the forging techniques were completely eliminated after the killing of those swordsmiths. Otherwise, the seven swords would not have such a high status."
"Wait a minute. I know a lot about human beings, but why do I get confused the more I hear about it?"
"How come everything this fourth Mizukage does sounds like it is weakening the power of this country? Why do Kirikage's ninjas support Kage like this? He is not a character like Senju Hashirama. It should be easy for the ninjas to unite to resist him, right?"
On Suigetsu's shoulder, Kyuubi, who had been napping, opened its mouth and asked.
Giyu gave him a strange look.
[I always feel that Kyuubi's resentment towards the first Hokage is a bit big...]
"There was such an opportunity once. But although Karatachi Yagura is a madman, he is a smart madman. He has reached this point step by step. But by the time the Kirigakure Village understood this, it was already too late."
Hozuki Suigetsu shrugged, "The reason for cleaning up the swordsmiths at first was because the ANBU directly under the Mizukage found evidence that they sold sword blueprints to Kumogakure. Then The war had just ended, and it was time to recuperate. There was no need for new ninja swords, and everyone didn't care much about the life and death of the swordsmiths. In addition, the evidence was very sufficient, and most ninjas believed it to be true, and they had feelings for Kumogakure. They have a deep hatred, so They don’t think there is any problem in dealing with the swordsmith village, but They didn’t expect that Mizukage would do it so thoroughly.”
"After dealing with the swordsmith, the problem of casualties caused by the awakening of civilian bloodline limits occurred among the people in various places. The ANBU came up with evidence again and said These villagers with Bloodline Limit are actually stimulated by spies, and it is necessary to clear them up in advance. But considering that this can reduce the number of outstanding ninjas from the private sector, which is completely in line with the needs of the big family to ensure that they maintain their dominant position, they still sit back and do nothing.”
"Then, those who acted as 'spies' became the higher-ups of the village, such as the previous generation's owner of the Samehada, Suikazan Fuguki. After these people were executed, the senior Kirigakure who could restrain the big family became weak. It also caused various families to act recklessly with the connivance of Karatachi Yagura, which caused the ordinary ninjas to become increasingly dissatisfied with them, and the conflicts between the families became more and more serious. My family was the first to suffer. When Karatachi Yagura decided to charge the police with espionage, When the Hozuki clan started, there was still no outsider to stop him. Instead, those people were very happy watching the show. Little did they know that the same thing would soon happen to them.”
"Until not long ago, all the personal ANBU who lost their positions were replaced by him. Among his own people, Kirigakure's senior officials have given up their power and lived in seclusion. The major families have been scattered to death, and no one can organize enough manpower to deal with him. Karatachi Yagura can easily kill anyone in the village, but we can't even tell where he is. All of Mizukage's orders are conveyed through Hoshigaki Kisame, and these orders are as outrageous as one after another, but these orders make this village weaker and weaker. However, no one can even communicate with Mizukage, let alone ask him to take back his orders. Anyone who disobeys orders will only die. "
Having said this, Hozuki Suigetsu looked up at the sky speechlessly.
"To be honest, we don't know what Karatachi Yagura wants, and the motive of consolidating power is not enough for him to achieve this step. The remaining people either rebelled outright like my eldest brother did, or they lay dormant and endured silently, waiting for the Karatachi Yagura to lose his position and reveal his flaws. There are also ordinary ninjas who can do nothing except be honest and obedient to save their lives. This Mizukage seems to have appeared just to take revenge on us. "
"in short. "
Giyu keenly discovered the key issue.
"In this country, everyone wants him to die, right? "
"You can say that. "Hozuki Suigetsu emphasized again, "Except for the current owner of Samehada, Hoshigaki Kisame. I don't know what benefit Karatachi Yagura gave him. He is so loyal, just like a dog with shark teeth, without any thoughts of his own. "
Ranmaru added: "Raiga also said that Hoshigaki Kisame is the fourth Mizukage die hard loyalist. He should be the strongest among the seven swordsmen. "
Giyu nodded slightly.
Everyone wants Mizukage to die, which means that there won't be too many people standing in front of him when dealing with Karatachi Yagura. This is a good thing and can reduce unnecessary casualties.
As for this Hoshigaki Kisame...
It is said that Hoshigaki Kujira he killed before was actually the patriarch of the Hoshigaki clan.
The relationship between Hoshigaki Kujira and Hoshigaki Kisame may be like the relationship between Shisui and his father in the Uchiha clan. They should have similar strength.
“Let’s go.” He leaned down and carried Ranmaru, who was leaning on the tree trunk, on his back. "We will find a place for you to rest when we get to that village."
If the village is still safe, he can temporarily place Hozuki Suigetsu and Ranmaru there, and go to Orochimaru's hideout alone, so there will be less worries.
Ranmaru nodded obediently, his eyes bursting out. The eye-catching red light shines through the mist like a searchlight, pointing out the best route for Giyu to avoid complex terrain such as swamps and mountains, without even encountering a few wild animals.
On the contrary, if there were not Outsiders like Ranmaru and Giyu would probably get lost in the heavy mist. After all, neither the Sharingan nor the transparent world has any special effect on natural phenomena.
The group walked for about forty minutes. Ranmaru said: "It's right in front.”
He looked forward and gave an observation report that made Giyu uncomfortable: "Like the previous villages, the entire village is in ruins."
Judging from the collapse of the house, Manda must have done a good job. Unexpectedly, he didn't even spare this village... Aren't you afraid of attracting the attention of the Mist Ninja?
"Is there anyone alive inside? "
Although the answers Ranmaru gave in the past few times were negative, Giyu still asked as usual for fear of omitting something.
"This village is very large. I can only see through the first half. The second half is on the mountainside. We have to go closer. "
Giyu nodded and continued to move forward with Ranmaru on his back. He soon saw collapsed earth walls, scattered grass stalks and debris exposed in the air in the mist.
The simple wooden tables were broken into pieces. The dishes, as well as the moldy food on the ground, all reveal the situation when the village suffered a devastating disaster - at that time, most families in the village should be eating lunch and didn't know about the upcoming huge disaster.
"Last time I came here, there seemed to be at least three to four hundred people in this village. "
Ranmaru's voice was filled with compassion, and Giyu could feel that his body suddenly became stiff.
"We should be in the center of the village now, take a look. "
Giyu's tone was unexpectedly gentle, which made Hozuki Suigetsu want to suffer a serious illness to experience this feeling.
"Okay. "
Ranmaru cheered up, his eyes glowed red again, and he looked around. Within a few seconds, the expression on his face suddenly changed.
"What's wrong?" Hozuki Suigetsu noticed his changes, "Is there really someone here? "
“There is one person, but more..."
Ranmaru swallowed, "It's snakes! There are snakes all over the mountains and plains, right on the mountain over there.”
"Where exactly is that person? "
Giyu's eyebrows pressed together and became sharp.
The only living person in the ruins, but there was an animal with distinctive characteristics like a snake around him. Could it be that they happened to run into Orochimaru?
"The man is in the shrine on the mountain. He is about ten years old and wearing glasses."
Ranmaru continued to explain what he saw. "And those snakes, to be precise are searching for something inside mountain..."
"Orochimaru shouldn't be wearing glasses. He's the only one here, and there's no need to pretend. This person is probably related to him."
Giyuu pondered for a while, and suddenly stretched out his hands, like the conductor of a symphony orchestra.
The surrounding mist rolled and gathered like clouds blown by the wind, and expanded in all directions like a retreat, exposing a large area of clear land.
Giyu looked around. Unfortunately, there is no suitable place for Suigetsu and Ranmaru to hide around.
"Let's go meet this person together."
Since Orochimaru might appear at any time, it would be safer for the two of them to stay by his side.
In this way, Giyuu embarked on the road to the mountain shrine.
In the shrine.
Yakushi Kabuto was holding a scroll full of ancient characters and comparing it with the spells on the altar of the shrine.
After several days of hard work, Orochimaru's mission to collect homeless bloodline limit children has come to an end.
Yakushi Kabuto came here this time to find the legendary Kusanagi sword enshrined by the swordsmith village.
On the one hand, he taught himself ancient writing through the scrolls in Orochimaru's base and tried to decipher the secrets on the altar.
On the other hand, he sent smaller snakes to search around in the cracks of the mountain, hoping to prove his unique value.
Compared with those children with bloodline limit, what he can do is still too limited.
When those children grow up and have a little bit of brains, they can easily take over his role.
Orochimaru, like Danzo, would never leave a useless person behind.
If he couldn't prove that he was special, Kabuto Yakushi might not be far away from becoming the food of Manda.
"Well... what I'm talking about here are the names of the Kusanagi swords, the Snake Sword, the Totsuka Blade... I don't know which one is enshrined in the swordsmith village..."
Yakushi Kabuto was thinking about it when he suddenly heard something behind him. There was a clear rhythmic sound of footsteps, so he immediately turned around, his brain starting like a high-speed rotating tire.
"Two footsteps, one heavy and one light. I don't know if They came here accidentally or if They found my location."
While he was analyzing secretly, he concentrated chakra on his right hand and pulled out the child's hand. That cowardly and harmless smile was intended to lower the visitor's vigilance.
Soon, the owner of the voice appeared. Kabuto Yakushi looked at the visitors carefully, trying to judge their origins based on their appearance.
[A sick child, looking very weak. 】
This is Ranmaru.
[This child’s eyes are glazed over, and the whole family is most likely dead. He carries a sword, maybe he knows ninjutsu? 】
This is Giyu.
Kabuto Yakushi was very familiar with this kind of face with absent-minded eyes. He had seen this kind of child all the time in the past few days.
[He should be a wandering orphan from the Kingdom of Water. He is relatively clean. He must have just lost his family not long ago. Could it be that Mizukage has attacked another village? ]
[Why does this last one look a bit like a Hozuki Mangetsu? 】
While he was looking at the three strange children, Giyu was also scanning Yakushi Kabuto, but this person looked ordinary and there was nothing special about him. Even wearing glasses was not a disguise, but a real high degree of myopia.
However, at the same time.
A root ninja with Danzo's orders has successfully landed in the Kingdom of Water and he is on his way to Orochimaru's secret base.
