Uchiha Giyu chapter 105
🕑 Added 2024-01-30 04:06:01 +0000 UTCChapter 105 Kocho Dream Interpretation
"Guest, your radish salmon soup."
The boss crossed the partition, placed the steaming white porcelain bowl on the wooden table, and handed the Chopsticks to the 23-year-old Tomioka Giyu.
"Eat slowly. It's very cold outside today and there aren't many customers coming. It's okay to stay a little longer."
Tomioka Giyu, who didn't know why he was here, held Chopsticks in a daze.
The familiar smell of the fish soup in the bowl, the wooden door blown by the cold wind, with a few snowflakes drifting in from time to time, and the busy figure of the table board shop owner across the table triggered his long-lasting memories: he had been to this shop.
The first time was two days after he met Tanjiro.
After coming out of the mountains, Tomioka Giyu received the order from the crow and came to Kitano-Jado Station to deal with a "bear eating man" incident.
Of course, the so-called "bear" is a Demon transformed by a demon, otherwise it would not be his turn to take care of this matter.
After the incident was resolved, it was in this store that Tomioka Giyu had a meal of radish salmon with an unforgettable taste.
[It seems that I ate with someone...but who was it? Why can't I remember? ]
Tomioka Giyu felt like his brain was like an invisible fog, and he had forgotten many important things.
However, delicious food comes first, so these trivial matters can be put aside for the time being.
His expression was relaxed, and he waved the tachyon with his right hand to gently disperse the steaming heat in front of him. He placed the nichirin sword at his feet with his left hand, intending to eat first and then think about other things.
The reason why Tomioka Giyu can't forget this shop is simply because the bowl of soup in front of him tastes almost exactly the same as the radish salmon soup made by his sister in his memory.
In other words, it feels like home.
Therefore, I am afraid that nothing is more likely to make him smile than the bowl of fish soup in front of him.
Without saying "I'm starting", such an opening statement, and without polite words of thanks to the boss, Tomioka couldn't wait to reach out the chopsticks to the almost crystal clear radish slices. As for the fish, he planned to save it for last.
But just when the radish soaked in soup was less than a centimeter away from Giyu's teeth, the cold winter wind suddenly rushed in - the wooden door of the restaurant was knocked open by an agile figure and fell heavily against the wall. .
Tomioka Giyu stopped moving.
He could see clearly that the person coming was a young man wearing a turtle-shell haori and a Demon Slayer uniform underneath. He wore a hollow cat mask on his face and a Nichirin sword on his back.
[Are you the team member who came to see me? Are there other Demons nearby that haven't been eliminated? ]
Tomioka Giyu waited where he was without moving. As Water Hashira, although he is not popular, it is normal for someone to come to him to report, although it is not very common.
And that person did rush towards his direction.
But unexpectedly, the opponent's charging posture did not slow down due to the close distance. Instead, it went faster and was about to collide with Giyu's body.
[Is there something wrong with the breathing method? Can't stop? ]
Tomioka Giyu immediately made a judgment and was about to force the opponent to brake, but the man suddenly took off and flew over his head nimbly.
"Sorry, sorry! It's an emergency, please lend me a moment."
When Tomioka Giyu turned around again, the man had disappeared, but cool snowflakes blew directly into his face.
The wooden wedged window behind the stove was pushed open by force, exposing the outdoor wind and snow. The radish salmon soup bowl on the table overturned, and there were some deep footprints on a piece of fish. The boss cooked it. The large iron pot used to make soup suffered a similar fate.
[Today...can't I eat? ]
Tomioka Giyu looked at the soup dripping along the table and onto the floor blankly, and suddenly felt an indescribable loss in his heart.
[Obviously this is the last time. ]
A strange idea suddenly flashed in Tomioka Giyu's mind, and he successfully captured it.
[No, why should I say the last time? ]
Just as he was standing there, waiting for the boss to come out from behind the partition to deal with the mess in front of him, someone poked him gently on the back.
"Tomi."
Then came the second blow.
It was a touch between soft and hard. It could not be mistaken for an attack, nor was it a light touch by accident. Instead, it was a finger pressing slightly hard on his spine.
"Oka."
On the third strike, Tomioka Giyu turned around and looked at him with a pair of translucent deep purple eyes, as if the prank had succeeded.
"Mr. Tomioka."
The voice was as clear and gentle as pearls dropped on the ice, but it shattered all the fog in Tomioka's heart. He suddenly understood what was happening.
His angle of view began to get lower, his arms and sleeves slowly shortened, and the Nichirin Sword at his feet disappeared.
The purple-eyed girl opposite still folded her arms and chuckled, as if she was watching an interesting show. Her wide translucent butterfly-patterned feathers were like fluttering wings, gently swaying in the wind together with the purple hair tips.
In just three seconds, the 23-year-old Tomioka Giyu successfully shrank and transformed back into the nearly 10-year-old Uchiha Giyu.
If he looked straight forward, he could only see the girl's shoulders.
"Kocho?"
Giyu called out the girl's name, and the confusion in it was clearly audible.
"Oh, I've heard my master talk about your situation and I've made some preparations. But I'm still not used to seeing Mr. Tomioka with such a cute face. What should I do?" Kocho Shinobu narrowed her eyes.
She leaned down slightly, seeming to enjoy the terrain advantage brought by her height.
She stretched out her right index finger from the sleeves of her wide butterfly robe, and slowly, at the speed of a slug, poked it towards Giyu's left cheek, with a sly smile in her eyes: "I'm sorry, I really can't help it. Can you let me——"
Giyu pinched her finger and said with a bit of embarrassed alienation in his tone: "Am I dreaming?"
Otherwise, he couldn't explain what was happening in front of him.
The wind and snow suddenly stopped, the body suddenly shrank, and the boss disappeared like a ghost. In an instant, only the two of them were left in the shop that had been a bit smokey before.
"Finally..."
Kocho Shinobu tugged hard, trying to pull her fingers out of Giyu's hand, but failed.
She didn't know if she remembered something bad, but a blue blood vessel clearly appeared on her forehead, and her confidence increased unconsciously when she spoke. ....
"Are you realizing it now? Seeing that you are still as slow as before, I feel relieved at last. Even if you die, some things will not change, which is a kind of comfort."
“Then. So, you are also a figment of my imagination."
Giyu did not let go of her hand, his eyelids drooped, as if he felt happy and disappointed at the same time.
He remembered.
After Katsuyu ate Manda's head, a bunch of small Katsuyu separated out and slowly ate away at Manda's body. Several people sat on the back of the big Katsuyu and continued to the Kingdom of Water.
Considering that being on the back of a summoning beast is not suitable for practicing dangerous swordsmanship, Giyu took out his summer homework to write. As a result, after writing less than two pages, he didn't know what happened and became drowsy.
Of course, this could be fatigue caused by the sudden evolution of his Sharingan.
But then came the dream just now.
Although his expression remained calm, for those who are familiar with Giyu, his loss at this time can be said to be "beyond words."
"What's wrong with dreams? Mr. Tomioka, the more taciturn a person is like you, the more important you have to pay attention to your dreams."
Kocho Shinobu sat down next to Giyu, "Before I died, I heard Lectures by some cutting-edge psychiatrists. Among them, there is a popular saying from Europe: "Dreams are the fulfillment of wishes. For example, a depressed person like you can often only do what you really want to do in a dream."
“At this time, instead of feeling disappointed, why not think carefully about the meaning of this dream? It may help you see your true thoughts clearly."
(Freud's "The Interpretation of Dreams" was published in 1899, Kocho Shinobu died roughly in 1915, which is around the third year of Taisho.)
"A dream is a dream."
Giyu said noncommittally, "What wish can it fulfill?"
As he said that, he pinched the bridge of his nose hard, eager to wake up.
Even if it was just a dream, he was still not ready to face another teammate.
Among the nine Hashiras, Kocho Shinobu was the one with whom he had the best relationship (you can imagine how bad his relationship with the other Hashiras was), but Giyu always felt that the other party liked to tease him, and if he say something, she will always get angry .
"Mr. Tomioka, you see, you are running away again. This won't do. People who dare to face the enemy may just be motivated by the atmosphere, but those who dare to face themselves are real warriors."
"..." He was not inspired but Confused, Tomioka Giyu asked: "Why can't I wake up?"
"Don't you feel that you are cold and hot? The weather in the dream is not the cause, but the result. You are not as simple as sleeping outside. But you fell into a coma due to a high fever."
Kocho Shinobu took out a thermometer from nowhere, looked at the reading carefully, and sighed: "In short, until your fever goes away, you can only stay with me, and you can't go anywhere. Alas, it seems that you have to make up for the time you never went to the Butterfly House to heal your wounds before. Sure enough, what you owed in the previous life will still have to be repaid in the next life. This is a kind of karma. "
“This is impossible, my body..."
With the transparent world, if he was going to get sick, he should have noticed some signs. ….
"Your coma may not be pathological, but psychological. After all, illness is sometimes a way to force you to rest. The more people like to force themselves when they are awake, the more likely they are to suffer from unexpected injuries. The betrayal of their own body. To be fair, I have never seen anyone who lives a more tiring life than you, so this situation seems to make sense."
“How can I wake up?"
Hidan's head still needs to be carefully guarded. There are many dangers on the sea, and Giyu is really worried.
"The more you resist, the more difficult it will be. You have to be patient and accept the treatment."
Kocho Shinobu's index finger swayed from side to side like a lost second hand, and then her eyebrows dropped slightly, "Does Mr. Tomioka hates it so much when I am talking? It was obviously not like this before."
[But you are lying. ]
Giyu did not say anything, and sat down a little depressed: "Just say what you want to say. Just wake me up quickly."
“You and Shinazugawa really have a tacit understanding in terms of passively resisting doctors."
Kocho Shinobu's fists clenched suddenly and then released palely, and then the topic got on track.
"Let's start with dreams. Let us first assume that if dreams are the fulfillment of wishes and truth, then Mr. Tomioka, can you guess the reason why you dreamed of me?"
"Resurrecting you is my most important thing at the moment. One of the things I was thinking about is about the carrier which I should choose for you not long ago." ( Dna for body )
Giyu thought for a moment and tried to apply the template given by Kocho Shinobu.
"Under such circumstances, it should be normal to dream about you. I wanted you to be resurrected, and you were resurrected, even though it was in a dream."
“Then why is it here?"
Kocho Shinobu pointed to the roof and drew a circle, "Why? Why did I appear here? Although there are not many occasions when we appear together, there are also quite a few. Obviously we can meet at the master's home or at the training ground, but what is so special about this place?"
"..."
Giyu thought while Getting up, "We once had lunch together here."
The two of them handled the "bear eating man" incident together, and after it was over, they ate here.
It was there that the two of them had their initial understanding of each other and revised their views on each other (mainly Kocho Shinobu).
"Is that all?" Kocho Shinobu asked probingly, "Does this place have no other meaning to you?"
“My last meal." Giyu continued," The taste of the food here makes me nostalgic. I knew I was going to die soon, so I came here specially."
This was something Kocho Shinobu didn't expect, and she was obviously a little surprised.
"But what does this mean?" Giyu looked at her doubtfully, "It's just an impressive place, it has nothing to do with wishes.”
"When you say this, you are oversimplifying people's subconscious. All the clues in the dream are riddles, and the answer is in your memory."
A smile flashed across Kocho Shinobu's eyes: "When I was still alive, you would send wounded people to Butterfly House, but you didn't come to Butterfly House; We didn’t have many chances to talk during the Hashira meeting. This is one of the few places where we can chat. Let me tell you, Mr. Tomioka, the reason why you dreamed that I appeared here is because you must be troubled by something. I want to talk about things. But considering that you are a big sap who rarely asks others for help, that’s why I took the initiative and showed up to help you solve your problems. You see, this is also a manifestation of desire.”
“…” Giyu was silent for a moment, still denying it: "But I don't think I have anything to say."
“I said, dreams are wishes suppressed in your subconscious. The denial made by your consciousness is not recognized here."
When looking at Giyu's expression which was "whatever you say," Kocho Shinobu's smile became stiffer.
"Since you are embarrassed to admit that you want to talk to me, why don't you tell me about the dream before. If I guessed correctly, you should have some guesses about the identity of that person. His feather pattern, and Mr. Tomioka, the pattern on the left half of the haori he is wearing is almost exactly the same..…”
“The person just now was wearing Sabito's clothes, but it didn't look like him."
Giyu said thoughtfully.
He didn't know he was dreaming before and couldn't remember where he had seen the other person before. He only thought he looked familiar, but now he can easily deduce the relevant information.
"Oh, is something wrong?" Kocho Shinobu asked.
Giyu: "If it's Sabito, his face should be a fox mask, not this cat style. Moreover, Sabito's sword should be hung on his waist, but the man is carrying it behind his back."
He paused After a pause, "In this part, he is more like my brother Uchiha Itachi. When he worked for Konoha Anbu, he dressed up in a similar way."
"Do they have anything in common?"
"No." Giyu thought about it for a moment. He replied seriously: "Sabito feels to me like a more stern Kyojuro. But Itachi may be more like Tokito. They both like to be in a daze."
“Ara, this is not about their character, but what it means to you. In fact, this is not difficult to judge at all, right?"
Kocho Shinobu's eyes lit up and she summed up accurately: "For you, whether it is Sabito or this Uchiha Itachi, they are all your various in the sense of 'brother’, right? So, we can think that the person who just knocked over your soup bowl is actually a combination of your two brothers, right?"
"Well, But what does this have to do with wishes ? What about relationships? Especially Sabito."
Giyu still questioned Kocho Shinobu's psychoanalytic theory.
"If your statement is correct, then both Itachi and Sabito should have taken off their masks to meet me, but he ran away. How could this be my wish?"
“No." Kocho shook her head and said, "Who they are is only one aspect. What they do satisfies your wish."
"You mean, I hope that my favorite food will be knocked over by my brother."
Giyu was speechless. He showed a half moon like eyes.
"The correct explanation is that you hope to be punished by them."
Kocho Shinobu said simply: "What you are doing or planning to do may be opposed by them or even harmful to them. You may be able to accept this when you are awake. It's a choice, but your subconscious can't accept hurting them. So in the dream, the radish salmon that almost represents all your happiness will be overthrown by this combination of 'brother'. Their departure and Alienation from you is the second round of this punishment."
Hearing this, Giyu subconsciously wanted to deny this outrageous statement, because he had never thought of doing anything bad to Sabito or Itachi.
But he immediately remembered something, his face turned pale as if it had become colder, and he sat in his seat distressingly.
Kocho Shinobu smiled with satisfaction. She held her cheek with the heel of her palm and leaned on the table. She asked softly: "Now, do you want to talk?"
"I might..." Giyu gritted his teeth and said, "Let some kind of similar Things like Kibutsuji Muzan appear in this world."
"You mean the body that was eaten by sharks?" Kocho tolerated it, and her expression was not as relaxed as before.
"Well," Giyu raised his eyes, his eyes trembling rarely, "So, did I disappoint Sabito? That's why he didn't want to say anything more to me?"
"I told you that this is your own subconscious . It's not that Sabito is disappointed with you, but that you are disappointed with yourself. You just expressed it in a dream with the help of another person's attitude."
Kocho Shinobu pressed her eyebrows, and then comforted him in a warm voice: "Actually, I asked you about it when I was in the underworld. Sabito was reincarnated shortly after Tanjiro completed the Fujikasane Mountain Trail, so you can't disappoint him. Even if Sabito really knew about this matter, he could tell that It's not your own fault. Who would have thought that Kibutsuji Muzan would reach out to another world while he was in Hell? None of us have the ability to predict the future. It's normal for such omissions to occur."
Giyu listened.
After that, his face didn't get any better, but became even colder.
"Now that you've explained it clearly to me, it's time to let me wake up. This matter must be dealt with as soon as possible."
"Have I explained it clearly?" Kocho Shinobu blinked, "It's still early. You seem to have an explanation for your punishment by Sabito; but what about your blood brother?"
Giyu this time even showed his shame.
"Itachi has a terminal disease. But the person who can potentially cure him is a guy who could kill dozens or even hundreds of people in just one more day."
Kocho Shinobu understood immediately: "So you have decided to kill him, but in this case, the hope of saving your brother will be reduced by one point, right?"
"..."
Giyu did not answer, his eyebrows were tangled.
"Do you have other ideas?"
Kocho Shinobu asked tentatively.
"You want Orochimaru to cure your brother's disease, but you also want to kill him?"
Giyu subconsciously reached out and touched his eyes.
This is an idea that he would not have thought of, and would not have even been considered in the past, because it involves his principles -
He will use others, such as making friends, to improve the resolution of the breathing method, but he will definitely give some type of Compensation, such as feeding, guiding training, and meeting some of the needs of others. In this way, he would have a clear conscience.
But the idea of using others and killing them at the same time - even if Orochimaru is a villain, how is this behavior different from that of a ninja?
But having said that, at present, this Orochimaru is still Itachi's best hope for survival.
[Why is he a person like Kibutsuji Muzan?]
When Giyu thought of what Orochimaru had done - using a hundred lives as payment for Manda's appearance, he became extremely angry.
This anger is partly due to the mountain-like bones in Manda's body, and partly because Giyu had to make a difficult choice. ....
The Sharingan, which had already accumulated power to a critical point, evolved under this situation.
Immediately afterwards, under the influence of the Sharingan, Giyu immediately did something that violated his own principles.
He used a rather despicable word of game to "deceive" Manda to get Orochimaru's information from him, and then killed Manda using Katsuyu.
And Giyu also knew very well that what he did to Manda was exactly the replica of what he was eager to do to Orochimaru - he had a dark thought in his mind: either forcing or deceiving Orochimaru into letting Orochimaru go. Then Orochimaru will diagnose Itachi and then he will kill Orochimaru.
When those Sharingan eyes opened, this thought was so vivid, as if things would definitely go as Giyu wished!
But after turning off the Sharingan, Giyu returned to normal and was shocked by his potential dark side.
"Although I and Shinazugawa can do this kind of thing without any psychological barriers, it's still a bit unbelievable to think that you want to do this."
Kocho Shinobu reached out and put her hand on Giyu's shoulder, "Although, It's not very good, but this kind of Sharingan you inherited from your parents' clan..."
"Sharingan." Giyu said, "It is a kind of bloodline limit."
“Yes, this 'Sharingan,' seems to change due to evolution. Emotions will make some unexpected changes to your brain and thinking. For You, this change is too sudden, and it may be a hidden danger of this Bloodline limit. It is best to be careful when using it. "
Kocho Shinobu smiled again, "Personally speaking, I don't like Mr. Tomioka that you have changed too much in this kind of character. Because you deceived a snake, you put yourself into a coma with a high fever. It's so bad that it's really hard to imagine what you would do if you really tried to use any tricks on this Orochimaru. A swordsman with a water breathing still can't do this."
“But Itachi's illness... ”
This is still a problem that Giyu cannot avoid.
"You are just a slow person."
Kocho Shinobu launched another personal attack, with a shadow of anger floating above the bridge of her nose. "Since you are going to resurrect me, have you never thought of asking me to help him see a doctor?"
“This is another world." Giyu emphasized seriously, "The number of cells in the human body is different, and the entire medical theory..."
“I can learn." Kocho Shinobu is very interested in the knowledge of this world. "I can't wait to start research."
Giyu retorted again: "But Dr. Tsunade has been studying for decades, and she is not sure."
“However, I have been studying for less than twenty years, but I almost cured it.It's so miserable!"
Kocho Shinobu seemed to be unable to bear it any longer, and her smooth forehead covered with veins leaned forward, as if a barrel stuffed with a cannonball was pierced into Giyu's face.
"Mr. Tomioka, I know you have always had a low opinion of yourself, but can you have some confidence in others? Considering that we will be getting along for the second life in the future, can you make people a little more comfortable in this regard? You don't want to be hated by others anymore? Do you?"
Giyu was not affected by the invisible threat and remained silent for a moment, then suddenly said: "You are not my dream, are you?"
“Oh?" Kocho Shinobu was startled and She backed away from Giyu, "Why did you say that?"
“If you were just a dream of mine, you wouldn't have agreed to what happened after my resurrection."
Giyu looked serious, "You just said that you asked Sabito in the underworld. The Sabito thing, if you are just a dream, you can't do such a thing."
“Then have you ever thought that I would say what I just said, it's just your wish."
Kocho Shinobu analyzed calmly : "It's you who hopes that I can try to save your brother, and you also hope that Sabito won't blame you, and dreams are the fulfillment of wishes, so I said that."
"This is the key."
Giyu caught the flaw, " What's the 'subconscious'? Dreams are the fulfillment of wishes. If you were really just a dream, you wouldn't be able to make sentences with words I've never heard of. Besides, if you were created by dreams to fulfill my wishes, you wouldn't say, “you don't want to be hated by others, do you?"
Kocho Shinobu was speechless for a while, and then her smile bloomed like a flower: "Alas, Mr. Tomioka, you actually saw through it! It seems that Iguro Obanai said that you are stupid. It's really just his personal prejudice."
"Did Iguro Obanai say that?" Giyu's focus fell on something strange.
"It's not important."
Kocho Shinobu waved her hand, "In fact, since you mastered more than half of the Moon Breathing sword form, I have entered the depths of your consciousness from the underworld. Logically speaking, this is not possible, but you see, maintaining good interpersonal relationships with the civil servants in the underworld has this unexpected benefit.”
"Originally, I thought Mr. Tomioka would have an easier time living in a child's body, but I didn't expect that you still look like you are going to carry the whole world on your own. You should know better, Hashira. There are nine pillars, and no building can be supported by a lonely pillar." ( Hashira means pillar )
“But I never heard you talking to me, obviously Kyojuro..."
Obviously Kyojuro only shouted in his heart, you can hear it outside.
Kocho Shinobu put her hand on her forehead, "If you were not dreaming of me today, and I just lived in your subconscious, and I couldn’t meet you so early."
As she said that, she put her fingers against her cheek. "Actually, I shouldn't have appeared so early. I should have waited and seen what would have you imagined me in your dream. If you thought too bad about me, I just asked them to open a back door for me to go back to the underworld."
"..."
Giyu waited for a few seconds and spit out a few words: "Thank you."
He knew that Kocho Shinobu appeared, it should just be In order to enlighten him about his tangled psychological problems.
"Those Europeans say that politeness is about dividing boundaries. Sure enough, Mr. Tomioka, you are still eager to keep a distance from me."
Kocho said with a strange tone, but then, her voice changed, "But if you really want to thank me, Just have more confidence in my medical literacy and learning ability. It is better to place your hopes on someone you can trust than to place your hopes in the hands of a villain who does not take human life seriously."
“I understand."
Giyu also made a decision, "I won't dwell on this matter anymore. I will find a carrier for you as soon as possible and resurrect you."
“Go at your own pace, I don't mean to rush you."
Kocho Shinobu took out a pocket watch and shook the watch towards Giyu, "Just in time, it's almost time."
“What time?"
As soon as Giyu finished speaking, he suddenly felt that he was pushed hard by someone, and he quickly moved backwards. He fell down, and then his body continued to sink, as if he had fallen into an invincible pit.
Giyu opened his eyes.
Hozuki Suigetsu and Ranmaru were staring at him with worried expressions, and Kyuubi was lying on Hozuki Suigetsu's head with the same giyu expression.
"Wake up, teacher, wake up!" Hozuki Suigetsu shouted in surprise, "The fever has also gone away."
Ranmaru added: "The eyes have returned to the gentle color before. "
"I'm just saying that it's normal for those eyes to evolve, so you don't have to worry about it."
Kyuubi shook its tail proudly, looked down at Giyu and said, "Kid, don't sleep, we are here."
Giyu, first stroked his eyes. The soreness and pain had disappeared, and he felt completely normal. It seemed that the sequelae of the sudden stimulation of evolution had been basically resolved.
He closed his Sharingan, sat up, and looked at the huge silhouette in the mist due north.
He knew that he had finally reached the last stop of his journey.
[But, did Iguro Obanai really say that about me? ]
