Ranmaru also had parents who loved him.
At that time, his family was quite wealthy and unlike ordinary peasant families, they needed him as a labor force.
Therefore, although Ranmaru has been weak since he was a child and can barely walk, this does not affect his parents' love for him at all.
When his father went to surrounding cities to do business, he would occasionally put him in a backpack and take him to see the spring, summer, autumn and winter outside.
After returning home, his mother would hold him and watch the goldfish, and from time to time she would also let him do things within his power like choosing vegetables.
Overall, his childhood was quite satisfactory and he did not feel that his life was worthless.
But the good times didn't last long.
One cold winter, his father went out on business but did not return for a long time. Ranmaru's mother was very anxious.
On the way to find her husband, in order to see further, she accidentally exposed her Bloodline Limit-
her eyes glowed red, her vision could pass through mountains and walls, and she could even see things two or three kilometers away.
If it were in another country, with Bloodline limit, it might be a helicopter for class jump.
But it's different in the land of water.
According to the orders of Kirigakure, people with this special ability are equivalent to "spies" in terms of status. Once discovered, they must be arrested and reported immediately, otherwise the entire village will be executed for "harboring spies."
Coupled with the fact that Bloodline Limit people often cause casualties when awakening, life in the Kingdom of Water is extremely difficult for these special individuals, and they can easily be called "lost".
But the village where Ranmaru lived was not that cruel yet.
The insiders in the village reached a consensus and decided to hide the story of Ranmaru's mother.
But in order for her not to be discovered by Kirigakure and implicate everyone, Ranmaru's mother must leave the village on her own.
In this way, the mother distributed the family property to the villagers, hoping that they could take care of Ranmaru's daily life and food, and she embarked on a journey to continue looking for her husband.
On the day of farewell, her mother walked very quickly, not daring to look back at all, and soon disappeared from Ranmaru's sight.
The young Ranmaru didn't know the real reason why his mother left. But since then, he has never seen his parents again.
Later, the village chief moved into his home, and Ranmaru was moved into a cabin that was more "suitable" for him.
Except for someone who provides him with food and handles his toilet regularly every day, he has been lying in that dark room, and it is difficult to even move.
The long-term lonely life made Ranmaru unbearable. He also wanted to see the world outside the hut, communicate with other people, and find out the whereabouts of his mother.
Perhaps this desire was too strong. One day Ranmaru suddenly discovered that his eyes could actually see through the wall and see people working in the fields at the edge of the village from a distance.
He was so happy that he immediately found the villager who brought him food every day, and saw that the villager accidentally cut his finger while harvesting food.
That night, the villager came to deliver food to Ranmaru as usual, and Ranmaru, who didn't know much about Kirigakure's rules, told him about the cut on his finger in order to express his concern, thus exposing his ability. He was so scared that the other party ran away, and the matter spread. More people knew about it than last time, and they couldn't hide it.
The village is in trouble.
First, because Ranmaru is incapacitated, he cannot leave voluntarily like his mother. But if he stays in the village, he will be discovered sooner or later.
Secondly, if Ranmaru's situation is reported to the Kirigakure Village, his mother will probably be involved. Once the Kirigakure ninja is interested in investigating, they will all suffer.
After much deliberation, the only way was to kill the child.
But everyone in the village has shared Ranmaru's property, and no one wants to be this ungrateful person.
Discussions went on and on, and finally the village came to a decision - to do nothing. Literally do nothing.
Anyway, Ranmaru could barely walk and had no ability to take care of himself. As long as they stopped giving him food, Ranmaru would starve to death sooner or later.
In this way, hidden dangers that threaten everyone's survival can be eliminated, and no one will have to get blood on their hands. Isn't it killing two birds with one stone?
However, although things are well planned, there are always some unfounded worries.
Many people don't understand what the Bloodline Limit is, so they listen to rumors and demonize it.
These people were worried that Ranmaru, as a "monster", would not only not starve to death, but would suddenly break out and kill like those special beings in other villages, so they were worried and secretly reported to the Kirigakure Ninja about this.
Just like that, five days later, Ranmaru, who was hungry, thirsty and dying, waited for the mist ninja ANBU Kurosuki Raiga who came to "pick him up".
Ranmaru's ability and his despair for life aroused the interest of Kurosuki Raiga, and a rather ironic result occurred - overnight, all the villagers except Ranmaru, the "monster", were all were silenced, but Ranmaru became an important partner in Kurosuki Raiga's personal care - Kurosuki Raiga ensured Ranmaru's survival and took him around as his legs.
Ranmaru, on the other hand, relied on his eyes that could see through the mist to make Kurosuki Raiga's ninja career successful, and he was quickly promoted to one of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen.
It seems that everything is going in the right direction.
Unfortunately, in Kirigakure Village, whoever is promoted too quickly will be targeted by the Mizukage-sama with a strange mind.
The continuous assassinations made Kurosuki Raiga wake up - if he continued to stay in this country, he and Ranmaru would sooner or later become the dead souls like other Mist Ninjas.
After much deliberation, Kurosuki Raiga accepted the task of "destroying the Yugakure Ninja Village" which seemed to be a suicide mission. He planned to take advantage of the chaos to kill the leader of the Yugakure Ninja Village, earn a bounty, and then escape. He and Ranmaru will live a wandering life together.
However, Raiga did not expect of Giyu sudden arrival.
... Ranmaru held the warm tea cup, but had no intention of drinking it.
"This is the story of me and Raiga."
"Raiga is dead. No matter what goals I have, I can't achieve them by myself. Without him, I'm just a cripple who can't even take care of himself. To me, continuing to live is only pain."
His purple eyes looked at the serious-faced Giyu across the table through the steaming heat, feeling unspeakable envy in his heart.
He had obviously seen such a haggard person before. He had slept for less than four hours, and he did not look tired at all. He could only dream of having such a strong body. Even just to experience it for a day.
On the other side, Giyu's eyes carefully scanned Ranmaru's body, but he spat out a sentence without any warning: "The most powerful ninja in the world is also a cripple who can't take care of himself."
What he said was naturally like Rengoku.
"Nagato" is mentioned like this by Kyojuro.
Although the battle seemed to be a draw between the two, Kyojuro made it very clear that the opponent seemed to have a very terrifying technique that he did not use.
"...Is that so?"
Ranmaru didn't believe it at first, but Giyu's face was too serious to be just talking casually.
"I never joke."
Giyu said as if he was reciting his lines: "That man easily killed Sanshouo no Hanzo with his unique eyes. But if no one took care of him, he wouldn't be able to survive."
Ranmaru followed Kurosuki Raiga day and night, of course he knew who Sanshouo no Hanzo was.
Hearing Giyu say this, he temporarily forgot his original intention of ending his life, and a trace of searching light came out of his eyes.
After all, the ninja mentioned by Giyu has many similarities with himself at first glance.
Ranmaru asked: "Unusual eyes? Is he in the same situation as me?"
"It's different. What he has should be the strongest bloodline limit in the world."
Giyu told the truth, The light in Ranmaru's eyes quickly went out.
"But you are better than him. I'm afraid he will never be able to stand up and walk in his life, but you can still do it."
The sudden turn of events caused Ranmaru's brain to freeze for a moment, and then he reacted and opened his eyes wide: " You just said..."
"I mean, there is still hope for your illness to be cured."
Giyu was afraid that he would not understand, so he changed his words.
"...But Raiga took me to find the best doctor in the Kingdom of Water."
Ranmaru did not immediately believe Giyu's judgment, "They said that this is a rare genetic disease, a terminal illness, and it will only get worse in the future. , there is no possibility of cure at all."
"I know that this disease is called 'bloodline disease', which mostly occurs in people with Bloodline limits. It is caused by a serious imbalance between the mental and physical strength in the body."
Giyu Pointing to Ranmaru eyes, "In your case, the mental power is too strong and corrodes the body. If my judgment is correct, since your eyes can see through the wall, you have never grown taller, except for vision. Other senses are also becoming more and more dull. On the contrary, you are dreaming more and more, and even after waking up, you can still remember every detail of the dream. Right?"
“That's true." Ranmaru frequency of nodding became more and more frequent, and he felt a little more convinced of Giyu in his heart.
After all, the doctors in the Land of Water couldn't explain his physical condition so clearly, which shows that Giyu knows this disease very well.
"But, can this terminal disease really be cured?"
"Honestly, I don't know."
Giyu shook his head.
Tsunade can't do it, but Orochimaru, who has studied the Bloodline Limits to the extreme, can't do it. He can only keep trying.
"But you must be cured."
"But...why?"
Ranmaru's hand holding the tea cup tightened, and he looked at Giyu with doubts in his eyes.
"We must have just met."
Giyu was silent for a moment, and his eyes suddenly turned purple like the sunset. The two tomoe on the left and the right slowly rotated. He looked much more energetic than before - at least it could reflect light. .
"You..." Ranmaru felt a lot more relaxed when he was looked at by these eyes as soft as water.
These purple-red eyes greatly deflected his impression of Giyu.
Ranmaru saw a vibrant new world beneath the mirror-like stagnant water, like an all-encompassing sea.
Giyu saw his reaction and felt a little strange.
It is obvious that when a clan member opens the Sharingan, anyone who is targeted will be so frightened that they break out in cold sweat. Why does Ranmaru behave like this?
Is it because when his "Red Eye" is activated, it looks similar to the Sharingan, so it feels familiar to him?
"Although the colors are similar, we should not be related."
Giyu was afraid that he would misunderstand, so he explained: "Compared to the Sharingan, your 'red eyes' are more like a variation of the byakugan. If you want to explore your bloodline, maybe It would be more appropriate to go to Konoha to find the Hyuga clan."
If some adjustments are made to the color of this child's hair and eyes - the hair color is darker and the eye color is lighter, he will looks quite similar to Hyuga Hinata, maybe there are some differences. The origin is uncertain.
"Since we have nothing to do with each other, why do you have to cure me?" Ranmaru asked seriously.
"Personally speaking, it's my brother who has the same disease as you."
Giyu did not hide his inner thoughts, pointing to his eyes and said: "Although he got sick later than you, he used the Sharingan too frequently. The condition is much more serious than yours."
This is the result of Giyu's observation through the transparent world.
"To put it simply, if I can cure you, I can cure my brother."
"That's right..." Ranmaru could barely accept this reason.
Sure enough, there is no such thing as unfounded goodwill in the world.
I am always in some strange place and have special value to others.
"But that's just one aspect."
Giyu hasn't finished speaking yet.
He looked at Ranmaru quite formally, "Next, I am going to the Kingdom of Water, to Kirigakure Village, and I may need your help. Curing your disease is my reward for asking for your help. Of course, if there is no cure, I will also take you home and take good care of you. This is my promise."
Seeing that Ranmaru seemed a little doubtful, Giyu added seriously: "My family is very rich, and taking care of one more is not big deal. There's no problem with the food at all."
"..."
Ranmaru was a little speechless. Is the issue he was worried about money related to? The key is - "Why are you going to Kirigakure Village? It's very dangerous there."
Although Ranmaru asked, the dissuasion was clear, "Don't talk about outsiders, even Kirigakure's own people don't know when they will be killed. The Fourth Mizukage lost his position and has gone completely crazy. No one knows what he wants to do."
“I'm just going to kill him."
Ranmaru was horrified by what Giyu said.
"If the person who made you an orphan and made more people like you become orphans is really this Mizukage; if killing that guy can change everything, then he is the target of my trip."
Giyu said his plan seriously while taking out the map of the Kingdom of Water that he carried with him. There were still a lot of blank spaces on it.
"But this is my first time going to Kirigakure Village, and I don't know much about the situation there. If you can see in the mist of the Land of Water for Kurosuki Raiga, you can definitely help me with this."
Giyu leaned forward, the speaking speed increased slightly.
"Due to my negligence last night, Hoshigaki Kujira launched a tsunami and destroyed all ships heading to the Kingdom of Water. Therefore, our arrival at the Kingdom of Water will be one to two days later than expected. In these one or two days, we don’t know how many people will experience the same thing as you, or even more painful things than you.”
"However, if You help me with your eyes to tell the location, When we reach the Kingdom of Water, the mist will no longer be an obstacle. In this way, the time wasted due to my incompetence will be recovered, and maybe even more will be saved. "
As soon as these words came out, Ranmaru felt that a huge responsibility fell from the sky, and he was overwhelmed and didn't know how to deal with it. It was clear that a few minutes ago, what he wanted was just a simple death...
But now, he seems to have become the most important link in the chain.
"Ranmaru. "
Giyu sincerely requested: "You chose to end your life simply because watching others die is more uncomfortable than dying yourself. I have experienced the same mood as you. "
That was when my sister and Sabito died, and Giyu fell into great sadness and couldn't even think.
"But your past should not become other people's future. "
Giyu stretched out a hand and spread it on the table.
This is what Mr. Urokodaki told Giyu after the death of Sabito and Makomo. Now, he relayed these words to Ranmaru intact.
"I am the one in your hand as blade and you as my eyes in the mist. In this way, we may be able to completely break the chain of tragedy. Do you really not want to try it?"
After a moment of silence, Ranmaru stretched out his right hand and held it with Giyu.
In his short life, he had never felt for a moment that he was so important.
However, just At this memorable and critical moment, the sliding door was opened from the outside.
"Teacher, the boat you ordered is ready to launch -"
Hozuki Suigetsu, carrying Nine Tails on his shoulders and wearing a black fox ear hairpin on his head, broke in, the voice stopped suddenly.
Seeing the two hands clasped together, and Ranmaru's face flushed because of his surging heart...
and then thinking of Giyu's special "hobby", Hozuki Suigetsu immediately thought a lot, so He hurriedly shouted:
"Teacher! Don't be fooled -”
"He is a boy!”
