Above Konoha.
An inconspicuous black shadow passed through the barrier silently, without attracting anyone's attention.
It was like a sharp arrow that tracked automatically. In just a few breaths, it phantomed through the main city and arrived at the edge of the Death Forest.
A wide, deep pit that seemed to extend downwards infinitely squatted there with its huge mouth open, like a trap waiting for a rabbit.
Even the best Jonin in the village would stay away from this place during activities, as if this was some ominous place.
(Except for Might Guy. He would deliberately run here, so at the request of someone, the Hokage gave an order not to come near this place.)
Their decision was completely correct, because here is the "Darkness of the Ninja World" Shimura Danzo's secret base is where the "Roots" of Konoha lie.
The fast-flying black shadow stopped at the edge of the pothole. If you look closely, you will see that it is a dark bird with only an outline and a hollow body.
It looked at the bottomless hole and hesitated for two seconds. Then it moved and transformed into a small snake as black as ink, exploring downwards along the inner wall of the hole.
There is nothing where the sun can shine.
However, when it was submerged in the darkness that no one could see, wooden beams with talismans attached one after another stood here, guarding the secrets here.
The black snake kept sliding downward for two or three minutes before discovering the lights and buildings.
It followed the guidance of the light, bypassed the root ninja and swam inside, finally getting into the training area of the root.
Each training room is divided into two floors, the inner and outer floors, and is a place where die-hard fans are cultivated from the roots.
At this time, in the training room No. 1 was a child about the same age as Giyu.
He held a red-hot dagger and slowly pushed it into the other person's eye without expression.
In the observation room separated by a layer of glass, a white-haired boy and a one-eyed old man were calmly listening to the screams coming from inside.
The latter was leaning on a cane and nodded approvingly, seeming to appreciate the performance of the child inside.
"Shin, your brother is doing better in the torture subject than you were at his age."
Shimura Danzo said in a faint tone, "I am looking forward to his future performance. In comparison, your heart is too soft."
As he spoke, he turned his head and opened his half-closed eyes slightly: "However, there is nothing praiseworthy about being cold and ruthless to strangers. If the person who threatens Konoha is his close relative, he can still be as decisive as today only then he can truly meet Root's requirements - that is the ninja without weaknesses. I don't know how far he still has to go before this step."
The white-haired young man named "Shin" said nothing, immediately knelt down on one knee: "If you need it, I will be happy to verify this myself."
"It's still a little early."
Shimura Danzo was very satisfied with his response, "But still be prepared, 'sacrifice' The progress is very fast. I believe that day will not be far away."
"Yes."
As an intelligence officer who holds the root secrets, Shin is very clear that he is destined not to live long.
But if he could use his own death to gain the trust and importance of his younger brother from Danzo, then he would have deserved his death.
As soon as Shin stood up, the seemingly shapeless ink snake slipped in through the crack in the door of the training room.
After letting out a blood-curdling scream, the black snake jumped into the air and pounced on Shin's neck as if it had found its prey.
But neither Shimura Danzo nor Shin paid much attention to the snake's movements.
Shin automatically took out the blank scroll from his back and unfolded it, letting the ink snake pounce on the scroll and turn into a meaningless black pattern.
"Yugakure Village." Shin judged, "It is the information sent by the teacher."
After he made a hand seal, the ball of ink immediately moved like an ant colony, forming a series of words that did not look smooth.
Shimura Danzo did not read the content immediately.
He opened the door to the training room and walked out slowly. He turned his back to the signal and gave the order: "You haven't seen each other for a long time. Send Sacrifice back first. I'll wait for you in the office to interpret the content above."
"Yes." Shin lowered his head, but showed a kind smile like a parent about to see his child.
Although it seemed abnormal to outsiders, in his eyes, in addition to the anticipation of meeting his brother, he also felt grateful to Danzo.
Ten minutes later, the most heavily guarded place in the root base, in the office, which was covered with hundreds of talismans.
Shin unfolded the scroll and "translated" the code on it while relaying it to Danzo.
"Last night, Yugakure Village was attacked by Kirigakure ninjas and evil cultists, resulting in nearly 600 deaths, nearly 2,000 injuries, and half of the village being washed away by the sea. But this attack ended in failure."
The first sentence of the letter made Shimura Danzo's lips curl down in disdain.
If you avoid war and are not fully prepared, what's the use of making more money?
A place like Yugakure Village, where there is so much entertainment and entertainment, dares to use the word "tolerance". It is really an extreme insult to the profession of ninja.
"Continue." Shimura Danzo calmed down.
"Yes. In addition to the Kirigakure who have been hiding in Yugakure Village, they also sent twelve elite jounin, including Kurosuki Raiga of one of the seven swordsmen of the Mist Village, Hoshigaki Kujira the leader of the Hoshigaki clan, Two member of the Terumi clan, and A member of Kaguya Clan. Among the evil cultists, Hidan, the murderer that the teacher had been looking for, was also released."
"Really?" Shimura Danzo's one eye burst out with a glimmer of light.
"It seems that all these years of waiting have been worth it."
Ever since he heard that an immortal murderer appeared in Yugakure Village, Danzo sent Shin's teacher there to investigate.
But two years later, Shin's teacher became a senior member of Yugakure, but there has been little progress in this matter—— Most people in Yugakure Village said that the guy named Hidan was dead and the evil cult had been completely eradicated. Only a few ninjas had doubts.
In order to find out about this matter, Danzo arranged for Shin's teacher to secretly support the development and growth of the Evil God Cult, and gradually transformed half of the Yugakure ninja ninjas into believers. Only then did the hidden hard-core Evil God cultists appear and provide a lot of useful information.
Shimura Danzo had long known that Kirigakure would take action against Yugakure Village, and he even tacitly approved of it.
Their purpose was to take this opportunity to stimulate the believers to actively try dangerous and terrifying methods to release Hidan, and then let Root's ninja find an early opportunity to capture Hidan and bring him to Konoha for research.
After all, this is more exaggerated than Hashirama's cells, a truly immortal body.
"Although the one named Hidan cannot die, his own weaknesses are very obvious. Otherwise, he would not have been subdued by a mere Yugakure ninja last time, and there should be no difference this time."
Shimura Danzo's speaking speed was due to his excitement. The mood quickened slightly.
"Tell your teacher that no matter what means you use, you must keep the other party in your hands. As for the other failed Kirigakure jonins, let him find a way to transfer them to Root's hands. So much information about Kirigakure, very important to us."
[Maybe this time, we can save some face with from Hiruzen. ]
In the past few years, Danzo doesn't know what Hokage is thinking, he has been using various means to restrict the activities of the roots.
Under such pressure, the roots naturally failed to achieve much, their role became smaller and smaller, and their status became increasingly useless.
And this incident happened to be an opportunity - Mizukage Yagura's operations over the years have always given outsiders a very confusing feeling, but the information about him has been well protected.
Danzo knew very well that as long as he could get the Kirigakure Jōnin, especially the Hoshigaki Kujira who was loyal to Yagura, it would undoubtedly be a great harvest of Kirigakure's information.
When the time comes, he might be able to take advantage of this achievement and bring Mitokado Homura and Utatane Koharu to put pressure on the Hokage to gain more power for the Roots.
However, after the order was sent, Shin remained silent and there was no reply.
It wasn't until Shimura Danzo was a little surprised that Shin spoke again: "Danzo-sama, please report next... After what happened last night, whether it's Kurosuki Raiga, Hoshigaki Kujira or other bloodline limit ninjas, they all are dead."
Shimura Danzo had no time to be surprised, and Shin added: "And the Hidan we have been looking for, he is now someone else's prisoner."
"Someone else?"
Shimura Danzo saw it. The cooked duck was about to fly away, and his tone suddenly became stern, "Did the people from Kumogakure Village intervene?"
"No, the person who killed them was a boy about ten years old, who called himself 'Tomioka Giyu'. He was a traveler who entered Yugakure Village last night."
When the letter was translated, Shin was as surprised as Shimura Danzo.
"Although the teacher doesn't know the specific situation, it is speculated that after a dispute between Hoshigaki Kujira and Kurosuki Raiga, they both were injured, and then the child found an opportunity to kill them. The evil cultist named Hidan was more unlucky. He was attacked by the shark of Hoshigaki Kujira who ate his torso. Although the head survived, it has now become the boy's trophy. The teacher once asked him for Hidan's head on behalf of Yugakure Village, but he was sternly rejected... "
“But considering that One of the leaders of Yugakure Village was saved by him, so the teacher took his stance and stopped insisting on asking for it. It is reported that the other party is looking for a ship to the Kingdom of Water, and there seems to be something urgent. Traveling with him was Hozuki Suigetsu from the Hozuki clan, who claimed to be his disciple. In addition, there was also a fox summoning beast beside him, which had no special characteristics except that it could talk. "
Shin paused and found that Danzo's lips were getting tighter and tighter. He was obviously in a very bad mood.
"The teacher's information said that although the other party was young, he was proficient in swordsmanship and the water release ninjutsu he used was very strong. Even if He only killed Kurosuki Raiga and Hoshigaki Kujira when they were injured, and he himself was no less powerful than an average jounin. Therefore, the teacher believes that relying on the manpower in Yugakure Village to snatch Hidan head is not a good idea. I hope you can provide some manpower support. "
After saying that, Shin fell into a brief silence, wondering whether his teacher had been contaminated by the evil cult and had gone crazy.
One of the Seven Swordsmen + the leader of the Hoshigaki Clan. How could a ten-year-old child Kill them?
But speaking of water release + sword skills are very powerful...
Could this "Giyu" be the result of the transformation of Kirigakure's genius "Hozuki Mangetsu"?
This can explain Why Hozuki Suigetsu is following the other party?
"You just said that the kid who killed Kurosuki Raiga was called 'Tomioka Giyu'?"
"yes. "
The letter was sealed again, and the ink on the scroll turned into a simple portrait again, "This is what the teacher said about him. "
[Looks a bit familiar... looks a bit like Uchiha Itachi.]
Danzo has always been thinking about this Uchiha clansman who he had high hopes for, so he remembers that face very clearly.
The corner of his mouth curled up subconsciously, Danzo said As if he remembered something, he searched the files.
"I remember seeing the name Giyu not long ago. "
Soon, he found a record of Konoha's entry and exit two days ago, spread it on the table and read it carefully.
- In the afternoon two days ago, Uchiha Giyu and Rengoku Kyojuro left the village at the same time.
[If this Giyu is that Giyu...]
"If we kept rushing, we could barely reach Yugakure Village last night. "
In the column of "Purpose of Leaving the Village", Uchiha Giyu only wrote "travel", which looked like it was printed out.
"The time can probably match, and the rest..."
Thinking of this, Danzo said again From the file cabinet at the back that contained the information of everyone in the Uchiha clan, he found a backup copy of Giyu’s school file.
“The photos look similar.”
“The age, about ten years old, also fits the description.”
"While in school, He only participated in one practical class and defeated Rengoku Kyojuro. The teacher's evaluation was that the level of physical skills far exceeded that of his peers. But this was three years ago... Considering that Uchiha Shisui and Uchiha Itachi are good at using ninja swords, it's possible that Uchiha Giyu also knows swordsmanship.”
"Only for this Water Style, there is no record in the school files. "
Uchiha and Water Style seem to be a bit incompatible.
But in the blink of an eye, Shimura Danzo immediately thought of his old teammate Uchiha Kagami. He is one of the rare exceptions in that clan who is born with water attribute chakra. In this way it is not impossible for Uchiha Giyu to be able to have the Water attribute.
I don’t know whether it is out of hostility towards Uchiha or because Danzo only knows this Giyu. He feels that this third-year student who is not in the village is the one he is looking for..
Ignoring the confusion shown in the letter, Danzo immediately asked: "Is there any other description of this brat? "
“The target's facial features are very cute, but his eyes are dull, his face is expressionless, and he is taciturn. When he speaks, he makes people very uncomfortable. He seems to look down on others and he is very rude to adults.”
Shin repeated the teacher's description verbatim: "In short, it's quite annoying. "
[That's right.]
Shimura Danzo remembered that the year before last, Mitokado Homura complained to him that Uchiha Fugaku had a very difficult son.
At that time, Mitokado Homura took his grandson to buy New Year's gifts. In the market he met Uchiha Mikoto with her two young sons by chance.
The two adults had just exchanged a few words before one of Uchiha Mikoto's sons accused him of smiling too fakely, which made Mitokado Homura unable to stand on the spot. But He really couldn't tell which one was Uchiha Sasuke and which one was Uchiha Giyu, so he had to use the "particularly annoying" and "fairly cute" twins to distinguish them...
Now, combined with the letter, Shimura Danzo was almost sure of the teacher's information. The kid in the information who picked up Hidan as a trophy in the Country of Yu was this Uchiha Giyu.
Looking at the entrance photo on his file. His eyes are like a black hole, it’s absolutely okay to say that his eyes are dull!
[It’s Uchiha again!]
The one-eyed old man held the crutch tightly, [What exactly do they want to do by sending this child to the Kingdom of Water?]
[If this information is not exaggerated, It means that the uchiha clan has a genius far beyond Uchiha Itachi... What do they want to do by hiding Uchiha Giyu?]
It is clearly written in the Ninja School records that the mediocre Uchiha Sasuke when he was less than ten years old, already had One Tomoe Sharingan eyes.
But this Uchiha Giyu could kill Hoshigaki Kujira, but the file said he didn't open his eyes.
How is this possible?
The more Danzo thought about it, the more suspicious he became.
[That Hiruzen, as the principal of the Ninja School, didn’t you have any doubts?]
The matter of Hidan being cut off is not important now.
What is important is that Uchiha Shisui and Uchiha Itachi had just left the water. After returning from the Kingdom of Water, the latter immediately resigned from his position as a ninja, and then sent Uchiha Giyu, who may be more talented than Itachi, to the Kingdom of Water.
What is the conspiracy behind this?
Again, thinking of the Third Ninja War, Uchiha's main opponent was the Kirigakure Shinobi, and Danzo has begun to hypothesize a possible huge conspiracy.
[Will there be any agreement?]
He has always been afraid to consider this clan with the deepest malice...
When Danzo read the files again and again and found that the relationship between the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki and Uchiha Giyu is "very close", he wanted to take these things to Hiruzen Sarutobi immediately and remind him to be wary of Uchiha and not be caught by the guard. In the past two years, he has gradually become gentle and confused.
But just as Shimura Danzo raised his buttocks, he immediately sat back down.
A very bold idea came to his mind.
[If this Uchiha Giyu really has information, he can. If he is so strong, could he already have Three Tomoe Sharingan?]
According to the intelligence, Uchiha Itachi opened his eyes when he was eight years old, and it seems to be a Two Tomoe.
Uchiha Giyu is stronger than Uchiha Itachi when he was ten years, and the possibility of possessing a Three-Tomoe was extremely high.
He subconsciously touched his bandaged right eye...
A lone Uchiha, suspected to have a Three Tomoe Sharingan, was outside. For him, it is a huge Temptation.
[But, who is the better choice to send there?]
After pondering for a while, Shimura Danzo suddenly remembered someone!
"Is Orochimaru still in the Kingdom of Water?" He suddenly asked about Shin.
"I don't know. But according to intelligence, his stronghold in the Kingdom of Water has always been taken care of. "
There is one sentence that Shin did not say. The person responsible for managing Orochimaru's stronghold was also Root's former intelligence officer.
"Then give it a try. "
Although Orochimaru may not necessarily give him the Sharingan, Danzo can't think of anyone there who can be of any use at the moment.
In addition, Even if Orochimaru takes the Sharingan, he can still get Hidan head. Even if he didnt get anything But as long as he can kill or make Uchiha Giyu disappear, and then wait until the bad news comes that Uchiha Shisui was killed by Iwagakure Shinobi - with the temper of the Uchiha clan, losing two geniuses in a few days is absolutely unacceptable.
When Uchiha Flame died last time, wasn't the conflict between Uchiha and the village about to break out? What's more, this time, it was the genius son of the clan leader who died, and their greatest pride - Shisui The Teleporter!
[If Hiruzen is not willing to be the one to light the powder...] Shimura Danzo opened a scroll, dipped in ink and began to write a letter to Orochimaru.
[Then let Uchiha himself be the one to beat the war drum.!]
