"Dad! Brother is back!"
As soon as Sasuke entered the house, he shouted excitedly, wishing that even the gecko living in the ceiling knew about it.
"I already know."
Uchiha Itachi heard a long-lost voice coming from the backyard, "Keep your voice down at home, Sasuke."
“Sorry!"
Sasuke covered his mouth with both hands, and then some He glanced at Itachi sheepishly, it was obvious that this "problem" had been corrected by his father many times.
But Itachi just felt that his father's temper seemed to have improved a lot. In the past, it was inevitable that he would have to give Sasuke some advice.
"I'm behind, you guys come together."
The brothers looked at each other, walked to the backyard through the terrace of the Japanese room, and immediately saw the figure leaning over the fish pond.
Itachi looked slightly stunned.
I don't know if he saw it wrong. Compared with a year ago, he always felt that his father seemed...
"Brother, do you think dad has become fatter?"
Before Itachi could finish the thoughts in his mind, Sasuke had already said but was in his mind. Unformed thoughts blurted out.
Itachi, who was always very polite, stood there at a loss, looking at Sasuke with a complicated expression, even a little suspicious.
[Actually, you are a Giyu, right? ]
How can I answer this?
"If you're fat, you're fat. There's nothing wrong with it." He said tolerantly, and Fugaku finally finished scattering the last handful of fish food and turned around slowly.
Looking over his father's waist, Itachi was surprised to find that not only was his father fat, but even the goldfish at home were almost turning into pufferfish.
My father had the habit of constantly feeding the fish whenever he was thinking about something, which shows that he spent a lot of time at the edge of this pond in the past year.
But logically speaking, if a person has a lot of worries, shouldn't he lose weight quickly?
"Father." Itachi bowed, "I'm back."
Fugaku's eyes were not big to begin with, but after gaining a ring of flesh on his face, his eyes looked even smaller and he looked much smarter than before.
His eyes lingered on the white hair on Itachi's forehead for a moment, and then wandered over the eldest son's face for a while before he spoke with emotion.
"It seems that you have figured it out. At least you are in much better spirits than when you came back last time. Your mother will be relieved after seeing this."
Fugaku clapped his hands, cleaned up the fish food residue, and sat down on the terrace. .
"Sasuke, go to the guard team and inform Uchiha Inaba and Tekka that about the distribution of newly graduated clansmen and let those children decide on their own. I won't discuss it with them tonight."
“Really?"
Sasuke is very familiar with the graduated clansmen, and when he heard his father say this, he was naturally happy for them.
Then, without waiting for his father to confirm what he just said, he couldn't wait to disappear and said, "I will tell them right away!"
Perhaps because he experienced too many abnormal situations today, Itachi was already somewhat immune and did not show any surprise.
The sound of the door closing sounded, indicating that Sasuke had left, and Fugaku spoke again.
"We should wait until your mother and Giyu come back to talk about Orochimaru's attack on you. They will definitely ask, and it would be redundant if you tell me again, so I won't ask you now."
Fugaku touched the balcony with his finger. He tapped the edge and motioned for Itachi to sit across from him.
"A lot of changes have taken place in Konoha and Uchiha during your absence. I believe you have noticed it, right?"
"Yes, when I first came back, I met the reserve members of the security force on the street."
Itachi nodded with deep understanding, "It seems that the relationship between the clan and the village has become harmonious."
"To be precise, the relationship between the younger generation of the clan, the younger generation of the village, and ordinary people has become harmonious.”
Fugaku couldn't help but sigh when he mentioned this matter, "Today's security force is composed of genin who have graduated in the past two years as reserve members to deal with civilian disputes; and then full members are used to deal with conflicts caused by ninjas. But the latter hasn't changed much."
"Are all the Uchiha genin who graduated in the past two years in the police force?"
Itachi asked curiously.
"Well, this is the clan's decision."
Fugaku explained: "According to the children's own wishes, they want to form a team with genin from outside the clan like other graduates in the village.”
"At the beginning, we thought this was a conspiracy by the village, and that the Third Hokage wanted to influence the minds of the young clansmen through this method, so we forced them to join the guard force and directly serve as reserve members to reduce the influence of the village on them. But who knows... This will actually improve the clan's reputation in Konoha.”
"Later we learned that it was not something the village did, but a very infectious child came to the ninja school."
"Is it the one named Rengoku Kyojuro?"
"Yes. It is said that he was sent by Tsunade to the village."
"Hmm." Uchiha Itachi's expression paused slightly.
"What's wrong?"
The change in Itachi's expression could not escape Fugaku's eyes, "Have you seen Tsunade recently?"
"Well, half a year ago, I met her at a hot spring hotel in Yuno Kuni, but we didn't say anything."
Itachi didn't seem to want to talk more about this matter and quickly changed the topic.
"You continue talking. I also want to know what kind of child he is that can actually change the attitude of those young clansmen."
“This matter is also very tortuous. Although the Third Hokage did not accept the child as a student, But he was trained according to his status as a descendant, and even the Sarutobi clan's fire release was taught to him, and he was even praised in public as the most powerful fire release genius since Uchiha Madara."
"Isn't that a bit exaggerated?"
Itachi frowned.
What kind of person is Uchiha Madara? Without Senju Hashirama, all the five major countries would have been conquered by him.
"The younger generations of the clan also had the same idea as you, but after coming to compare, they were convinced that they lost.”
"But the child did not humiliate them, but instead taught them all his experience in learning fire release. He was able to do many principles that even I couldn't explain clearly to them. Sasuke, as well as the reserve members of the guard force you saw today, all received his guidance. Obviously they have just graduated, but in terms of the nature change and form change of Fire Release, even some jounin are not as good as them. "
“That's it. "
Itachi somewhat understood.
Uchiha are a clan that worships the strong to the extreme.
Being defeated is not just a matter of being defeated, but they also receive careful guidance from the opponent.
No wonder those graduates today look up to a foreigner.
No wonder my father didn't bother to check Sasuke's report card, there is such a person in the same grade, he can't take first place, there is no need to look at it.
"In short, they have been with that kid for a long time, and they will naturally be influenced by him. "
Fugaku sighed, "The result is that the jonin in the clan and the juniors who have just graduated have completely opposite attitudes towards the village and foreign clans, and there are even estrangements and rifts.”
"Today, the third batch of children is about to graduate, and the clan is divided on whether to let them join the police force. But I thought about it and decided that it would be better to let children decide than to let them resent their elders. After all, whether it is a village or a clan, the future belongs to young people."
At this point, Itachi finally understood the reason why those goldfish became fat.
However, it would not be a bad thing if the clan could really get rid of their extreme desire for power and Sharingan.
In the past three years, he had been hiding in the Kingdom of Water because Konoha made him feel sad.
But Shisui was hiding in the Kingdom of Water with him because as long as the top Uchiha master was not in Konoha, then the Uchiha would not have the absolute confidence to rebel, and the village would not be able to risk a large number of secrets being leaked.
If there are differences in the ideas between the younger generations of the clan and the elders, it can make the clan slowly give up the idea of revenge against Konoha, and Shisui will be much more relaxed.
Others can't see it, but Itachi knows very well how much sacrifice Shisui has made in order to maintain this peace over the years.
"Then what's going on with your figure?"
Itachi was silent for a while and changed the topic to a lighter topic.
"Thanks to Giyu, I, the leader of the clan, have become more and more idle in the past two years, and few people come to me to do things. Once I have a regular diet and sleep, and less exercise, I have gained weight. Besides, I have been at home in the past two years. The food here is not something you can compare to outside."
In fact, in the absence of Itachi and Shisui, Giyu could only ask his father to brush up on the resolution of Moon Breathing.
In order to make up for the guilt of "taking advantage" of his father, he studied Fugaku's favorite ingredients in different ways every day.
Although Fugaku's words were unclear, Itachi guessed from Fugaku's faintly proud expression that his father had probably used Giyu's unique interpersonal skills in a "reverse" manner, making the clan members, young and old, afraid to run to the house at all. It was a bit dumbfounding.
After all, saying "Dad said he's not at home" is almost like saying "he doesn't want to see you anymore”.
After the father and son chatted for a while, the door of the house rang again.
But since he could hear the footsteps, Itachi knew that his mother should be back.
"Father, I'll go over first."
Fugaku nodded. Mikoto didn't know that the eldest son had returned yet.
Sure enough, Itachi had just walked into the corridor leading to the entrance, and the room was immediately filled with Mikoto's surprised voice.
"Itachi!?"
Mikoto walked over to the eldest son with moist eyes without changing her shoes, and immediately embraced him in her arms.
It was one thing to be confident in her child's strength, but after all, her opponent was the legendary Sannin, and the letter sent back from the Land of Water was unclear, so how could she not be worried.
Now that I have seen my eldest son return home intact, my heart has finally got free.
Giyu, who came back with his mother, stood at the door and felt that if he changed his shoes before going in, he would not look excited enough.
"Sorry, I should have informed you in advance. It's just that the village urgently called us back to explain our encounter with Orochimaru face to face, so we didn't have time to ask someone to bring a letter to mother." Itachi's eyes were slightly moist.
"Call me mom. Let's wait until you are an adult." Mikoto said seemingly annoyed.
"Yes, Mom."
Itachi was a little embarrassed, after all, fourteen was already quite a lot, but he still didn't want to betray his mother's kindness.
"How's it going? Are you injured? You can't report good news or bad news about this kind of thing."
Mother looked at Itachi's body and face, "But it seems that you are in much better spirits?"
Itachi suppressed a smile and just said He wanted to answer the answer he had already prepared, but he felt a familiar gaze penetrate his body.
He subconsciously looked at Giyu and found that the distance between the other person's eyebrows suddenly widened, and his lips squeezed together violently, forming a hard straight line!
This was a drastic change in mood for the normally expressionless Giyu.
Itachi understood, and Giyu used that unique gaze that Shisui nicknamed "white eyes" to see clearly his physical condition.
Thinking of this, Itachi immediately cast a pleading look at him and shook his head heavily and slowly.
Finally, Mikoto's training in recent years, which ordered Giyu not to expose other people's lies, was still useful.
He understood Itachi's expression and simply stood there with a cold face.
"Mom, I rushed back all the way and went to see Mr. Hokage first. I didn't even have time to change clothes. I must have smelled terrible."
Itachi smiled at his mother, "Let me take a shower and change clothes first. Wait. I'm coming down, Sasuke should be back, and we'll talk about it slowly then."
After that, he nodded to Giyu, "Giyu should also have taken the practical exam today, so let's take shower together."
"Okay. "
Giyu agreed.
Under Mikoto's confused eyes, he went upstairs with Itachi with a face like a cold iron shield.
"Why doesn't Giyu look happy at all?"
Mikoto looked at the backs of one tall and one short walking upstairs, and whispered, "Is it because Itachi came back without saying hello? Or is it because of those few books just now? I didn't let him buy it..."
But when it came to the book, her expression suddenly changed from doubtful to gossipy.
She put the copy of "The Story of Strong Perseverance" on the shoe cabinet and immediately walked into the Japanese room.
"Fugaku, something very interesting happened today..."
At the same time, on the second floor.
The two brothers had no intention of taking off their clothes and taking a shower, but sat down together in Itachi's room.
"What's going on with your body?"
Giyu got straight to the point and asked on the spot: "Why is the color of your blood different from the past."
"Sure enough, it's the same as Shisui said, you can see some more essential things, even the Byakugan can only see Chakra meridians and cannot see through a person's body."
Itachi sighed, his suspicions for many years were finally proven, and the confusion in his heart was finally solved.
"No wonder you can expose Shisui's teleportation technique."
"Don't change the subject."
Giyu's expression was as serious as an iceberg, and he almost said every word.
Itachi, who was stared at by him, suddenly felt like he was in a swamp full of water vapor. Without chakra, he would find it difficult to even move his body.
It seems that in the past two years, Giyu has made greater progress than he imagined.
"I didn't know this situation myself. But since last year, I started to feel a little cold when I used Sharingan. At first, I just thought it was due to the environment of the Kingdom of Water, so I went to the Kingdom of Yu to try the hot springs to recuperate my body."
Itachi answered honestly, there was no point in lying in front of Giyu.
"I met Tsunade-sama there, so I asked her to check it out."
"What was the result?" Giyu asked in a cold voice.
"It's a hereditary bloodline disease. Some members of the clan have suffered from it before, but few people get sick so early."
Itachi rubbed his dry lips with his fingers and spat out a few more desperate words.
"Tsunade-sama can't help it. This disease is said to be an incurable terminal illness…”
