Uchiha Giyu Chapter 23
🕑 Added 2023-11-09 01:30:58 +0000 UTCChapter 23 Naruto, do you want a brother? (Part-1)
In the 54th year of Konoha, January 10th, a full week has passed since Giyu officially started practicing the Flame Breathing. There are still 50 days until the start of the Ninja School. (this book is based on the 48th year of Konoha when Naruto was born)
In the mountain stream of Naka River, Giyu took off his shirt, and his immature body was like red and hot lava, motionless under the wash of the waterfall, letting the cold water and the hot body touch each other, and lump after lump rose up. The hazy mist that only exists in the sky.
Experience has proven that practicing the Flame Breathing, which has completely opposite characteristics, in this place where water breathing is extremely efficient can effectively weaken the vitality of Giyu's extremely violent natural energy when it flows through the body.
At present, Giyu has been able to initially adapt to the intensive transformation of the body, especially the bones and muscle tissue, caused by the Flame Breathing——
It is a feeling of burning iron embryos in flames, smelting them and then repeatedly forging and shaping them. It is more painful than Water Breathing, but it is also more enjoyable after completing a set of breathing cycles, as if it has been suppressed for a long time. Those who are thirsty drink a large glass of plum juice.
Now that Giyu is in the waterfall, he can maintain his Flame Breathing for 7 consecutive hours without making any mistakes. But if you are far away from water sources, this time will be reduced to 3 hours. There is still a significant gap between reaching "24 hours without any mistakes".
It now appears that the reason why the Flame Breathing has always been a family skill of the Rengoku family on earth is not because the Flame Hashiras of the past generations have a sectarian view or cherish their broomsticks.
In fact, only swordsmen who have experienced many years of training can have the considerable physique and patience to withstand the pressure of this kind of practice, otherwise it is easy to spontaneously combust and die.
And in the ninja world, a place with extremely abundant natural energy, practicing flame breathing is even more dangerous.
Compared with the mental and physical energy that can be stably extracted from the body, it is more than ten times more difficult to use the micro-manipulation ability that penetrates the world to control the violent natural energy. Therefore, Giyu can only use the patience of a Water Hashira to control violent natural energy. Adjust and control bit by bit...
While he was concentrating on breathing, on the river not far away, four shadow clones holding bamboo sticks were individually training the first eight sword forms of Flame Breathing.
As for the last type, the Ninth Form Rengoku, it is similar to the Eleventh Form Nagi of Water Breathing. It can only be used after reaching the normal level and then combining it with chakra.
There was a sound of flapping wings, and the red-eyed crow that Shisui left for Giyu to observe the surroundings flew over and landed on the top of hut.
After it called hoarsely twice like a timer, the four clones stopped in unison, like four identical statues, standing motionless in place.
A minute passed, and after Giyu's body made a clear exhalation, one of the clones immediately seized the opportunity and said: "The time is up, if we keep practicing, you won't have the strength to go to Naruto."
Giyu's true form opened his blue eyes and nodded slightly. Then he formed a hand seal, and all the clones immediately disappeared. However, Giyu himself seemed to be pushed hard from behind, and was almost knocked down by the waterfall——
The four clones had been practicing swordsmanship for a full eight hours from 4 o'clock in the morning to now. The pain and fatigue came to the main body at a fourfold rate. I really don't know what words to use to describe it.
Giyu walked out of the waterfall with a gloomy face and completely submerged his body into the water. The swollen muscle tissue continued to tighten under the cold but stable stimulation. The discomfort all over his body was slightly relieved, and then he was able to think about sorting out the experiences of the clones in practicing the sword form.
Five minutes later, his body gradually rose from the water and floated to the surface. His eyes were staring straight ahead, and strong white air escaped from his mouth and nose.
"Flame Breathing·First Form: Unknowing Fire." (Shiranui in Japanese)
A twisted space more than eight meters long passed through the air, accompanied by a water ravine of equal length below that separated violently to both sides, and Giyu's body instantly appeared at the end of the water ravine.
Then the water surface returned to its original state.
"Shiranui, it can be used as a teleportation technique."
Giyu glanced at the air behind him that was distorted by the high temperature, "But the traces are obvious, so it can only be used for a frontal attack."
[I don’t know what this form will look like after Constant participates in chakra refining...]
Then, he repeated his old trick and suddenly appeared at the door of the hut. Giyu took off his wet pants and changed into a set of more life-like clothes that he had prepared long ago.
Then he once again separated a shadow clone - anyway, his current chakra was far higher than four months ago - and began to sit on the small table, studying the homework assigned to him by Itachi, which was about the changes in the form and properties of water-type chakra.
[“You can use it better only if you understand it, otherwise it will be difficult to create something new that is completely suitable for you.”]
That's what Itachi told him.
Giyu couldn't refute, so he agreed, but there is no progress in this part so far, but at least he can understand what those terms mean.
After leaving the mountain stream, Giyu regained his water breathing so that no one would notice anything strange, and took a path back home.
The house was cold and empty.
In order to satisfy his father's wish that "you must beat the Hyuga family" in the entrance exam, Sasuke is studying hard in an office of the police force and receiving personal guidance from his father every day. Although he misses Giyu very much, he is very satisfied to be able to be close to his father.
[At least in fire release, I am much stronger than Giyu! ]
This is what he thought, [Next time I train with Giyu, I will definitely scare him. ]
Wish him good luck.
Itachi was outside the village, continuing to perform tasks that could help him enter the Anbu, the details of which were kept secret.
According to my mother, she should be now protecting a noble from the City of Fire to the Land of Rain together with three subordinates who have become chunin.
Giyu looked at the empty living room and kitchen, thinking of the mansion he was given as a gift when he was a Water Hashira, and the nights he spent tossing and turning on the bed. A familiar feeling of loneliness surrounded him.
The next moment, Giyu remembered Naruto's seemingly meaningless "I'm back" when he came home and opened the door.
He also knew what that really meant.
"Let's not keep him waiting."
Giyu said to himself, dispelling the faint emotions, walked all the way to the storage room at home, and dragged out the induction cooker and rice cooker that had been eliminated for many years.
When he came back from Naruto's house last time, his mother offered to let him take it over, but she just told him not to disturb Naruto for too long.
Giyu cleaned the two electrical appliances, then returned to his room to find the recipe he had copied before - because the original text was too ugly and it was inconvenient to forward it to others - and then set off from home.
…
When Giyu reached Naruto's door, he was sure he heard a groan of pain.
[Have you had diarrhea again? ]
Giyu frowned, [Didn’t the Hokage say he would let merchants sell things to him? ]
"Dong dong."
He could hear Naruto walking, so he probably wasn't in the bathroom, so he put his things down and knocked hard on the door.
"Is it Giyu?"
Uzumaki Naruto's voice was joyful, but a little tight, which was consistent with Giyu's guess that he was unwell.
"Open the door."
Giyu said calmly, "It's me."
"Can you wait a moment? I want to use the bathroom."
His tone became more tense, followed by the sound of the toilet door closing suddenly.
Worried that his physical condition was serious and he still had to speak harshly, Giyu grabbed the door handle and turned it off with a click.
[If it doesn’t work, take him to the hospital first. ]
After the door was forced open, a familiar room came into view, but the mop fallen on the floor and the wet floor were new, indicating that Naruto was cleaning before he arrived.
Then, an unbearable smell penetrated Giyu's nose. If it were Tanjiro, he would probably have to say that his throat hurt from being choked.
[But this taste seems to be very familiar...]
The faucet in the toilet rang.
The sound of running water, which was light and heavy and then stopped, meant that Naruto was not sitting on the toilet, but was hurriedly flushing something, and he also made an inaudible breath, obviously to avoid being heard by Giyu.
Instead of forcing the toilet open, Giyu silently walked to the refrigerator, opened the door, and took out a carton of milk.
"The production date is December 1, and the shelf life is 45 days."
Giyu's eyes became slightly sharp, "There are still 5 days to expire."
[So, from expired milk to nearly expired milk? ]
There are sixteen boxes of milk in a carton, and there are exactly sixteen boxes in the refrigerator, which means that these are the milk that Naruto just bought today or yesterday.
The scene of the Third Hokage's promise to Naruto flashed through his mind, and the corners of his mouth turned down slightly.
In the Demon Slayer Corps, he hates those people who are irresponsible but also say nice things.
If Hokage feels that he is old and unable to manage so many things, and retreats to the second line like Master Urokodaki, why should he do this, failing to do what he promised, and disappointing people in vain. Doing something perfunctory is more annoying than doing nothing at all.
Giyu closed the refrigerator door, but the bathroom door opened.
He cast his gaze over and found that Uzumaki Naruto's first look when he saw him was not a surprise, but a subconscious shrinking back like Itachi was discovered by him entering the kitchen. Then Naruto asked in surprise: "Giyu, how did you get in?"
This was what Sasuke said when he stayed up late reading a novel and turned his head to see his mother standing quietly behind him. It was full of guilt, as if there was something that could not be known.
Then, Naruto glanced at the door where heat was constantly pouring out, and let out a nervous exclamation.
"I will change the lock on the door for you."
Giyu's eyes stayed on Naruto's face for a moment, and then looked at his right hand that was close to his thigh, "But do I need to wear gloves at home?"
It was a green children's wool glove. If it were outside, there would be nothing unusual about it. But at home...
"Because I feel a little cold."
Naruto scratched his head and laughed twice, pointed at the door and said, "It turns out it's even colder now..."
"You're lying."
Giyu interrupted, standing there like an ice sculpture, his eyes like knives and frost.
He had carefully looked at the condition of Naruto's hands with his penetrating eyes, and was suppressing his vague displeasure, but he did not say it directly.
Naruto had never seen such an expression that was not malicious but was extremely stern. He didn't know how to deal with it and could only look down at his slippers. As if he had really done something wrong.
"Sit down first."
Seeing his appearance, Giyu finally breathed a sigh of relief. He was a little embarrassed to preach to a child who was eight years younger than when he first met Tanjiro.
He dragged a chair to block the leaky door, then pushed Naruto, who was as stiff as a puppet, to sit down at the small coffee table next to the bed, while he sat opposite Naruto.
"Put your hands on the table."
Naruto obeyed obediently.
Today's Giyu is a bit scary.
Although Giyu's expression was not much different from last time, not only Naruto felt a low pressure, but even the fox hidden in his stomach felt something strange, so he squinted behind the iron door as if watching a play.
Giyu grabbed Naruto's right wrist, and the latter unconsciously twitched back, as if he was afraid of what would happen next.
Raising his head, the deep dark blue eyes and the large sky blue watery eyes looked at each other.
After a moment, Naruto understood what Giyu meant. He pursed his lips, turned his head to one side, and closed his eyes tightly.
But the next moment, his arms tightened like a cramp, and he resisted the desire to retreat, but the prayer-like neighing sound in his throat still came out, coupled with his flushed and twisted face, as if he was suffering from the impact of a soldering iron.
He had every reason to behave this way.
Even though Giyu's movement of removing the gloves was light enough and very slow, it still made a rough sound like tearing off Velcro, tearing off a layer of skin on Naruto's hands.
Giyu opened his mouth slightly.
What he saw with his naked eyes made him sadder than what he saw with his transparent eyes.
The entire skin of Naruto's right hand was ulcerated as if corroded by something, with only a small amount of corn-colored glue-like adhesion remaining on the bleeding dermis. To put it bluntly, this is a chicken foot that has been boiled until the skin peels off.
Because Naruto had forced himself to put on woolen gloves to cover the injury, there was still a lot of fine wool residue stuck to the wound. The ones that stood up were okay, but the ones that lay down were almost melted into the skin. Once they were taken out, Giyu didn't know how Naruto could bear the pain.
What a strong will he must have to put such rough gloves on his hands.
Unknowingly, he felt almost exactly the same way towards Naruto as Shisui felt towards him during the battle seven days ago.
Giyu's nose expanded slightly, and what he wanted to say was hidden between his teeth.
[On the other hand, you can tell it’s almost the same even if you don’t have to look at it. ]
"Do you have a medical kit at home?"
"Behind...behind the bathroom mirror."
Naruto was shaking in pain, tears welling up in his eyes, but they never came out.
[My grandpa gave it to me because I always fall down. ]
"Don't move here."
After Giyu settled down, entered the bathroom and found that the pungent smell before was even stronger.
He saw the bucket in the shower where Naruto washed the mop, and that's where the smell came from. Next to the bucket was a bottle of detergent that was exactly the same as his, which could explain why the smell was vaguely familiar.
But Giyu, who is responsible for taking care of the housework, knows very well that this kind of detergent itself is definitely not the pungent smell it is now, otherwise why would anyone buy it.
He held his breath, unscrewed the bottle of detergent with a bad guess, and looked inside. Sure enough, the color of the liquid was different from what he used at home.
[Someone added something to it. ]
Giyu made a judgment.
[Is it intentional? Or an accident? ]
He screwed the cap on the detergent bottle and put it aside. Without saying a word, he took out the small blue bag behind the mirror, took out a small tweezer and returned to Naruto.
[We’ll talk about that thing later, it’s important to heal the injury. ]
He saw Naruto's eyes were red, his teeth were clenched, and there were water stains on the inside of his elbows that were not there when he left, but Giyu didn't let his eyes linger there.
He held Naruto's wrist and gently pushed the tweezers over, but stopped when he was about to make contact.
"I'll knock you out."
He suggested seriously, "Otherwise it will hurt even more than it does now."
Naruto froze for a moment, seemingly briefly withdrawing from the searing pain, and thought carefully about Giyu's words.
But immediately, he gave another Tanjiro-like smile.
"No need..."
There was a sincere light in his eyes.
"Because when Giyu grabbed my hand, it didn't hurt as much as before."
