Uchiha Giyu Chapter 32

"Give me a reason."
In the Japanese room, Uchiha Fugaku and Uchiha Shisui sat opposite each other, with no low table in between as a barrier. Only in this way could they understand all of each other's thoughts through observation.
This was the first one-on-one conversation between the two strongest people in Uchiha after the third shinobi war.
The clansmen who were still aggrieved before had left under the persuasion of several Uchiha leaders who were "not prepared".
Next, the decisions made by Uchiha Fugaku will be passed on to more clan members layer by layer with the explanations and supplements of several elites.
I believe that when everyone becomes more sober and understands the current situation, they will make correct judgments.
What Shisui was discussing with Uchiha Fugaku at this time was his agreement with Giyu to leave with him.
At this time, one of them acted as a father and the other as an elder brother, rather than as a simple clan leader and clansman.
"He's just a child, so it's fine if he's not sensible. Why do you want to encourage him?"
Uchiha Fugaku's tone sounded dangerous, but his expression and posture were quite calm.
To be fair, this is the first time that Giyu has shown a sense of belonging to his clan.
If the situation wasn't suddenly critical now, Fugaku should have felt relieved, but in fact, it would be more dangerous for Giyu to track down the whereabouts of Flame and Wen than when he let Itachi wander around the battlefield.
Shisui did not dodge his gaze, but looked at the former calmly.
But he didn't immediately talk about things related to Giyu, but instead talked about another topic.
"Lord Fugaku. Before returning to the clan tonight, I thought that taking Flame away was what the enemy wanted."
He paused, "But seeing how angry the clan members are, and even planning to take risks, I feel that provoking conflicts between the village and the Uchiha is what the enemy really wants."
"If it was the village who ordered it to be detrimental to Flame and the others, we could wait until they entered the Kingdom of river or even the Kingdom of Wind before taking action. We could also justifiably shift the responsibility to the enemy. But the person who took action chose the village. The Fire Nation’s mansion is the most suspected, but this seems strange.”
"Do you believe what Third Hokage said?"
Uchiha Fugaku frowned.
"I believe this was not his instruction. But this does not mean that there are no people in Konoha who want conflict between Uchiha and the village."
Shisui took out a pile of records of the whereabouts of Konoha jounin and ANBU from the small bag, which was given to him by Sarutobi Hiruzen.
“Those who betray Flame and want to intensify conflicts must be in the village."
"But the person who did it cannot be from Konoha. Because all Konoha ninjas with this ability have evidence of alibi. Even Itachi, he is currently in the Land of Rain, plotting to destroy Hanzo of the Salamander, It’s impossible to have such a good time..."
"Do you even doubt Itachi?!"
This time Fugaku was shocked.
You know, when these two people get along, they are more harmonious than real brothers.
“When making this kind of judgment, we must think of all possibilities and treat them equally in order to make an overall consideration.”
Shisui's words fully reflected the meaning of his name, "Now that Itachi is eliminated, it is actually a good thing."
In fact, after his genjutsu was cracked last night, Shisui had eliminated all the jonin in the clan through investigation, but the only one who had the opportunity to "commit crimes" and still had three tomoe was Itachi who was out. After all, what he accepted was a secret mission that Danzo used to test him to join ANBU. Even Shisui didn't know what it was.
But after checking Itachi's whereabouts with the Third Hokage today, Shisui officially eliminated Itachi and felt relieved.
Then, Shisui actually classified the person who "took action" as a foreigner with "Sharingan", but he was not a Konoha ninja.
The spies who communicate with the enemy inside and outside are the important personnel in Konoha who hold the intelligence of the patrol squad.
And their ultimate goal is to use the most direct method to intensify the conflict between the village and Uchiha.
Taking an intersection between these three, Shisui immediately made a rather bold guess.
"If you sort out the whole thing and think about the scene where the conflict between the police and ordinary residents intensified some time ago, you will find that in fact, these two seemingly unrelated things are actually the same thing, with the same purpose. In order to intensify the contradictions and intensify them again. In this way, do you think of someone who is used to inciting public opinion and making lies in the village?"
"You mean... Danzo Shimura?"
After the Kyuubi Rebellion, Uchiha's reputation was greatly damaged. It was really thanks to this man that Uchiha Fugaku could not forget him.
It's just that this person rarely appeared in jounin meetings and kept silent. If Itachi hadn't joined the ANBU to get through the opponent, Fugaku would have thought that he had died in some dark corner.
Shisui nodded.
In fact, he didn't immediately think of Danzo. He was a reclusive person. Even if he was an ANBU directly under the Hokage, he didn't meet Danzo many times. But every time he met, the other party was invariably acting... Konoha's "risk analysts" regard almost all abnormalities as potential threats to Konoha.
On the contrary, it is the root of the opponent's subordinates, who often conflict with the ANBU directly under the Hokage.
But when I think that the person who attacked Flame is a foreigner who "owns the Sharingan", I can't help but think of Orochimaru who previously conducted human experiments in Konoha.
Some time before he escaped, Some Uchiha clan members also disappeared, but no tangible evidence was found to prove this.
In Shisui's hypothesis, it is very likely that this Konoha traitor is cooperating with Danzo.
One of them is responsible for doing things, and the other is responsible for providing intelligence, which can explain most of the doubts about Flame's disappearance.
After all, if it were anyone else, they would just kill Flame on the spot. Leaving the body behind would be more impactful, so why take the person away.
Unless you want to use his body for something, such as Sharingan or something.
As a result, Orochimaru and Danzo, who had criminal records, were even more suspected of doing such a thing.
In fact, Shisui's guess was quite close to the truth itself.
"For such a big matter, in normal times, Elder Danzo would have been in the Hokage's office exchanging countermeasures with the Third Hokage."
"But today I saw Elder Hamura and Elder Koharu who were transferred to the dormitory, but I didn't see them show up. This has to make people suspicious."
"..."
Uchiha Fugaku looked at Shisui with a somewhat "terrible" expression.
"Since you already have a suspect, leaving Konoha this time is actually just..."
"It's a cover, but not quite."
Shisui explained, "Without actual evidence, speculation is just speculation after all. I plan to go to the location of the incident to see if I can find anything, and then directly transfer to the Land of Rain."
"If things are different from what I thought, and the enemy only targets Uchiha, then Itachi, the only one outside the clan, may be in danger. But if it is really Danzo, once Itachi completes his mission and returns to Konoha, he may directly fight with When he meets, I have the same reason to stop Itachi and ask him to take precautions.”
"The reason why I agreed to take Giyu away is because in the latter case, Giyu would be safer outside Konoha."
Shisui looked at the position upstairs, "If something unexpected happens, you must stand at the front of the clan. At that time, Aunt Mikoto will only have to protect Sasuke's child, which will be easier."
Of course, another reason why he took the Giyu was because in the Land of Rain, a place with heavy rains all year round, Giyu's water Release would be enhanced, and he was probably as good as three ordinary Konoha Jonin. But he didn't say this.
Uchiha Fugaku pondered for a long time, then lowered his head slightly, leaned down, and solemnly asked:
"Then Shisui…"
"I'll leave these two children to you."
Meanwhile, upstairs, the twins' room.
Uchiha Mikoto and Sasuke sat side by side at the door, blocking Giyu's route.
The latter sat there honestly and motionlessly, like a prisoner being criticized.
Sasuke puffed his face angrily, trying his best to imitate Fugaku's usual stern look.
He didn't know why his twin brother wanted to take risks outside the village when someone was already missing. Uchiha Wen just disappeared, but he felt so panicked and uncomfortable that he almost vomited when he was on the roof.
If the same thing happened to Giyu, he didn't know how he would face it.
Instead, Mikoto just glanced ahead vaguely, opening her lips several times but then closing them again.
This time, just by looking at Giyu's expression, she understood that no matter how exaggerated her movements and expressions were today, she could not make him back down or change his mind.
"Although mom doesn't want to say that..."
After pondering for a long time, Uchiha Mikoto finally spoke, "But Flame and Wen, there is a high probability that they are no longer alive."
"What……"
Sasuke knew little about the close connection between the disappearance and death of ninjas, and his eyes widened on the spot.
Mikoto compared Sasuke's panic with the expression on Giyu's face, and sighed, "But I guess you have already thought of this, right? Giyu."
"yes."
Giyu replied, his voice sounding like it was bouncing back from the bottom of a deep well.
Just because he was so used to the term "disappearance", the nightmare that had not appeared for a long time came to haunt Giyu again. Some things you will never get used to.
"Even if you know this, you still want to go with Shisui to find out?"
"yes."
Giyu's eyebrows were slightly lowered, and the shape of his eyes seemed a bit sharp. "If the person who did this is not found, it may happen to other clansmen."
There was another reason that Giyu didn't say.
That is, as long as the murderer has not been found, the surviving Uchiha Cui and Uchiha Gan will live in the cage of guilt they created for themselves, just like he did back then.
As the parties involved, once they recover, they will inevitably take more drastic actions as revenge, thereby risking their lives.
In Giyu's view, this is another reason why he must do this, and it is also the reason why all Demon Slayer members have to hunt Demons——
Avoid more people from becoming like them, plagued by hatred and pain for life.
Uchiha Mikoto sighed.
Just when Sasuke and Giyu thought she was going to reveal her mother's identity and forbid Giyu from stepping out of the house, Mikoto said: "In this case, mother will not stop you."
Sasuke stood up immediately, "Mom!"
Mikoto stretched out her hand to hold Sasuke's shoulders, her gentle eyes falling on Giyu.
"That child Shisui is a thoughtful person. If you are with him, I am not worried about your safety."
"It's just that you have never wanted to become a ninja, Giyu, but now you have to go out on your own initiative for something that is probably fruitless. It is inevitable that you will see the dirty and cruel side of this world."
"Itachi just walked around the battlefield, and he seemed to be a different person when he came back. Although he has become more mature, he has gradually become taciturn. I have always been worried that the same thing will happen to you and Sasuke. Now, although the war is over, the cold-bloodedness and cruelty among ninjas has not diminished because of the war, but has become more despicable and insidious..."
When she said this, she waved to Giyu.
Giyu hesitated for two or three seconds, stood up, walked to Mikoto and knelt down next to Mikoto, while Mikoto took both children into her arms at the same time.
"Children will grow up when they see cruel things. I also know very well that you can't always be like this."
"Even if you grow up normally, you will gradually become eager for power and fame, and you will gradually become tired of your father's strictness, and you will hate your mother's nagging, and there will even be gaps between brothers because of differences in opinions... and In the outside world, it a will intensify this change."
Sasuke looked at Giyu in confusion, wondering why his mother said these words.
He was sure that he would not become the person his mother said he was. As for Giyu, he basically had nothing to do with the word change.
"But no matter how cruel and unreasonable the world outside the village seems, as long as you return home, the love your father, mother and brother have for you will never change."
“So, mom hopes that Giyu, no matter what he sees outside this time, he will always remember what I just said."
"When you come back, I hope you will still be the child who can't lie, and still have a gentle heart that is rare among the clan. Don't turn yourself into a truly cold person just to deal with a cold world. .”
She moved her warm hand to Giyu and stretched out her little finger, "Can you promise mom this?"
Before Giyu could react, Sasuke hung up his little finger.
He raised his head proudly, "No matter what happens in the future, I will never become as annoying as my mother said. Giyu, you must think so too, right?!"
Giyu didn't speak, just nodded slightly and hung his own finger on it, forming a precious contract between mother and son.
Mikoto smiled contentedly, and at the same time covered up a hint of worry in her heart with her happy smile.
However, she looked past the two little heads with black hair and looked at the night scene outside the window, which was darker than Giyu's eyes. The uneasiness in her heart was gradually amplified by the unknown future.
[I just hope that this is not the last time I make this kind of agreement with you. ]
