When Giyu walked out of Uzumaki Naruto's house, the sky filled with falling snow had turned leaden black. It was clearly not yet night, so Konoha Village had to turn on the road lighting in advance.
After Giyu made an appointment with Naruto to teach him how to cook next time, he slowly walked away along the road. His short body was cast into a slender shadow by the street lamp, which was like an illusion against the reflection of the snow.
Naruto watched him go away from the window, but his heart was filled with joy as he looked forward to the next meeting.
The shadow clones of the Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen and Kakashi, were standing on the roof of Naruto's house, staring in the same direction.
"This child..."
Sarutobi Hiruzen subconsciously wanted to light a cigarette.
But then he realized that he was a clone, and he didn't hold the cigarette rod, so he could only put his hands behind his back in embarrassment.
"Kakashi, what do you think?"
[I see with one eye...]
Kakashi wanted to say that.
"It's rare for an Uchiha to have a child with such a soft heart."
Kakashi was silent for a while, but chose to say what he didn't like.
"But since he said he doesn't want to be a ninja, why would you induce him to enter the school?"
Like Sarutobi Hiruzen, he thought it was because Giyu was soft-hearted and didn't want to disappoint Naruto and Sasuke. That's why he agreed to enroll. But once he enters school, whether it's for comparison or competition, Giyu will soon forget his original intention.
"If I don't induce him to enroll in school, Uchiha will force him to do so. As the leader of the clan, Fugaku will never allow his son to be without strength. When Naruto almost fell, his extraordinary speed was proof. This child has already received physical training to some extent."
Sarutobi Hiruzen's face was calm, "But the matter of letting him go to school is a matter of rational and emotional persuasion, and the other is unreasonable persuasion from parents and family. In the heart of the child, who is better and who is worse?", isn’t it obvious at a glance?”
Kakashi was speechless and didn't know how to answer.
He just felt that in the snowy day, the temperature was really too cold, and the cold wind whistling high in the sky just expressed his feelings for him.
The third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, always likes to show a weak and gentle face, and never seems to force anyone to do something he doesn't want to do.
But in fact, he likes to lay foreshadowing in subtle ways to manipulate people's hearts, or use subtle influence to sow discord, so that others always act according to his plan. This was the method he used to control Konoha for many years, and he had no intention of hiding it from Kakashi.
In his opinion, once he could no longer support it, among the younger generation in Konoha, only Kakashi had the hope and ability to inherit the position of Hokage. The Hokage, who was born as an ordinary ninja, lacks strength, so it is not only normal but also appropriate to use some mental tricks.
"Besides, don't forget, Shisui is also a soft-hearted child."
Sarutobi Hiruzen continued, "He rarely took human lives, but he defeated countless enemies. It was these survivors who spread his achievements by word of mouth, which gave him the name 'Shisui the teleporter' Spread throughout the ninja world."
"Kakashi, Konoha needs ruthless ninjas to protect itself, but it also needs young people full of ideals and tenderness to balance it. Use the former to deal with Konoha's enemies, and rely on the latter to add allies to Konoha and win good fortunes. Only in this way can the village gradually move from darkness to the spotlight."
"And a child like Giyu is very suitable for the second type. In order to help Naruto, a stranger, he dared to issue stern questions to me, the Hokage (actually he did not). As you can imagine, in order to let more people know how much courage and strength he can unleash when he can get rid of pain and difficulties..."
"At that time, as long as what the village asks him to do is in line with his own judgment, what reason does he have to refuse to become a ninja?"
He turned around, patted Kakashi on the shoulder and sighed, "Kakashi, you still have a lot to learn."
After saying that, he turned into a ball of smoke and disappeared without a trace, leaving only Kakashi alone.
"Is it his own judgment, or is it the judgment guided by the subtle guidance of the village's higher-ups?"
He touched his pocket, which contained his collection of out-of-print adult books.
"As expected, I still prefer to deal with superficial things."
…
After Giyu crossed the Konoha River and walked on the forest path where he first met Naruto, he gradually resumed the operation of his Flame Breathing.
He had temporarily stopped breathing when he was at Naruto's house.
In winter, the indoors are very dry and the temperature is high. If you make a mistake, it will cause a fire.
But outside in the snow, Giyu didn't care.
After concentrating and pushing with all his strength, his whole body was filled with thick white air, and the air around his body was slightly distorted, far beyond what Rengoku Kyojuro could do when he was on Earth.
This is not because of how high his Flame Breathing attainments are, but more because the natural energy induced by the Flame Breathing in this world is very violent. Even if the transparent world is used for subtle control, there is no guarantee that it will not go wrong.
If the power brought by the Water Breathing is regarded as a slightly naughty dolphin, then the power brought by the Flame Breathing is like a mad cow running around, without control at all.
This is still not involved in refining chakra, but just using natural energy to strengthen the body.
This made Giyu a little distressed.
Because he wanted to summon Rengoku Kyojuro as soon as possible, he had to maintain the breathing method while sleeping at night, but he did not want to set fire in his home which is made entirely of wood.
[What should I do now? ]
"Giyu."
Accompanied by Shisui's sudden voice, a stone flew toward Giyu in a curve, just like the shuriken that Itachi taught Sasuke to throw.
Giyu, who was focusing all his attention on breathing techniques, frowned and waved his hand subconsciously.
The moment the stone made contact with his fingernails, it shot back in a straight line like a cannonball at a faster speed.
Shisui felt threatened, as if there were spiders crawling on the back of his neck.
He instinctively opened the three tomoe sharingan, but saw a stone wrapped in the deformed fiery air, spiraling past his ear, followed by the smell of burnt hair, and the sound of something solid exploding. ——
He covered his curly temples and turned around like a puppet with a stiff smile.
The three trees, which were as thick as the necks of an adult Akimichi clansman, all made cracking sounds, and then fell in the same direction. There were dark scorch marks on the cracks, as if they had been blasted by explosive tags.
"It seems I can't greet you this way in the future..."
After making sure that the trees would not be set on fire, Shisui turned around in anger, looked at Giyu with a solemn expression, and pretended to pat his chest, "Even if the trees are more fragile in winter, it will be very scary if you do this. Don't do it in front of others in the future. Ok, Giyu.”
"I am sorry."
Giyu's apology was sincere.
Just as he was knocking back the stones, he suddenly felt an unknown fire.
Although he waved subconsciously, he wanted to use all his strength and vent all his strength.
Breathing techniques can change a person's personality and way of dealing with the world, it's not just talk.
Now it seems that setting one's house on fire is not the only hidden danger that may arise from practicing the Flame Breathing as a volunteer.
If an innocent person is hurt, then he will definitely be blamed for his death.
[What should I do now? ]
"Don't keep your head down. Make me lunch next time, and I will reluctantly forgive you."
Shisui walked up to Giyu and was about to touch the other person's head to experience how Itachi usually felt, but was forced to take a step back subconsciously due to the high temperature.
"You feel so hot."
He thought for a while and said, "Are you practicing that breathing technique Itachi mentioned again?"
Itachi had used a strange sword technique when training with him before.
Once the specific breathing method is not followed, those movements will appear very redundant and excessive, and are not suitable for ninjas who pursue speed. Nor would the samurai of the Iron Kingdom create this kind of swordsmanship.
Itachi speculated that the breathing technique was a secret technique that Giyu "imagined" during his years of silence to overload the body, so most of Giyu's imaginary enemies were not humans. Maybe he saw the Kyuubi that destroyed the village when he was a baby, and that image was reflected in his subconscious.
Itachi was still worried about this, fearing that his brother had some mental problem.
Although Shisui was surprised when he heard this, he didn't seem too surprised when he thought that it was something invented by Giyu.
As far as he knew, there was a genius disease in the ordinary world, and most of the patients were children like Giyu who didn't like to talk much. They were all known for their rich imaginations, and some could even compose music at the age of three.
When Itachi uses the "breathing method", his body temperature will also rise, but it is not as exaggerated as Giyu's current situation.
Shisui visually inspected the insulation layer made of high temperature outside his body, which was almost fifty degrees...
"I still can't control it very well."
Giyu stopped breathing with all his strength, and his red face gradually returned to normal.
But the remaining warmth has not dissipated, and as soon as the snowflakes fall on his shoulders, they will melt into sloshing water droplets.
He stared at Shisui's baby face for a while and asked simply, "Do you know the places around Konoha that are sparsely populated and not prone to fires?"
He must minimize the damage that may be caused by practicing Flame Breathing.
"Well……"
Shisui touched his chin, thinking about what had just happened, and guessed Giyu's intention, "Giyu, you are looking for a place to practice, right?"
"Yeah." Giyu nodded seriously.
"That's it."
Shisui paused.
"I built a hut near the waterfall behind Naka River, which just meets your conditions. Almost no one goes there."
Shisui's words gradually gave Giyu hope.
The so-called Naka River is the river behind the Uchiha clan, directly opposite the Naka Shrine, and already very close to the edge of the village. There is no barrier covering the place.
But Giyu is not too worried about his own safety.
But since it is by the river, there should be fewer risks...
"However, even if you are Itachi's brother, I can't help you in vain."
Shisui folded his arms and leaned against the tree, and said with a smile, "Also, before, I helped your brothers hide so many things from the clan leader and the village. You should also thank me."
Shisui promised Itachi not to tell the clan or the village about Giyu.
Although his position is more in favor of Konoha, he will never betray Itachi, so he has always kept the secret closely.
"what do you want to do?"
Giyu's face was expressionless.
"I heard Itachi say that your breathing method can not only enhance your physical skills, but you can also combine breathing methods with chakra. Is that true?"
"Um."
"The last time you dealt with Uchiha Flame, did you combine breathing and chakra?"
This problem has troubled Shisui for a long time.
Giyu's ability to release the "Water Dragon Bullet" without a seal should not be as simple as having a high affinity for water-type chakra.
What's more, that technique can gradually become stronger, which is essentially different from the water dragon bomb.
"That's right."
Giyu's answer confirmed Shisui's guess, "That's the tenth Form of Water Breathing."
"It is as expected."
Shisui clapped his hands excitedly. "Okay then, Giyu, how about you use your full strength and use your sword form with chakra to compete with me once, and I will lend you the cabin?"
It's not that Shisui coveted the breathing method. As long as he wanted to, he could copy the unique breathing rhythm and movements from Itachi at any time.
Shisui himself does not desire power, and with what his eyes can do, it is really difficult for anything to enter his eyes.
The reason why I made such a request to Giyu was purely out of curiosity about what a real genius is like and what he can achieve.
And the more important point is that once Itachi's worries become reality——
Giyu became a clan weapon, and how much impact it had on the balance between the village and Uchiha.
He had no idea about this matter, and it was really hard to sleep.
"But don't worry too much, I will be merciful to you."
Giyu fell into silence.
During this period of time spent with the children in the clan, he has understood that fighting with each other is a way for ninjas to grow up. It is not just for boring reasons like showing off their strength.
So he no longer resists fighting as before.
But, Shisui asked him to attack with all his strength?
"You're going to get hurt."
After thinking for a long time, he finally came up with this sentence, "It's best not to hold back."
"So you agreed?"
Shisui raised his eyebrows, but didn't take Giyu's reminder to heart.
"Um."
Giyu nodded, "But I may need to borrow it for a month or two and live there at night."
"It's okay, I work the night shift."
He stretched out his fist and placed it in front of Giyu, "Then we've settled."
Giyu looked at his fist and didn't understand the opponent's intention, so he ignored it and asked himself:
"When is the competition you mentioned going to be held?"
"When are you going to stay?"
"In three days."
Itachi and his mother were both going to rest for three days, and he didn't plan to miss it.
"Then let's set it on that day."
Shisui happily made his decision, "Don't worry. If you don't know how to explain it to the clan leader, I'll explain it to you when the time comes, but I might have to make a fuss, do you mind?"
Giyu shook his head.
To tell the truth would be a violation of the agreement with Itachi.
If his parents really knew the dangers of practicing the Flame Breathing, they would probably not allow him to do so.
"Okay, let's go."
Shisui patted his shoulder, "Aunt Mikoto happened to meet me, so she asked me to come to you. I'm coming to your house for a New Year's dinner today. Remember to cook something I like to eat."
"Well... then we have to go back and buy some more food!."
