Uchiha Giyu chapter 16

"Naruto, can you introduce your friends to grandpa?"
After Hiruzen Sarutobi put the festive snacks he brought in the refrigerator, he skillfully pulled out a chair and sat down as if he were at home, looking as if he was tired after walking a long way and wanted to sit for a while longer.
Sympathy is easily elicited.
He had already planned to come to Naruto's house in the New Year.
First of all, his son and eldest grandson are not around. He is half a lonely old man, and he really needs the company of his children.
Secondly, doing so would make Naruto, a Jinchūriki, more dependent on him and trust him.
If the two children hadn't suddenly mentioned Kyuubi, he would have followed the original plan and waited until the fireworks were set off at night. When Naruto was extremely lonely, He would suddenly appear and give Naruto a big surprise.
In this way, Naruto's feelings for him would become stronger. In Naruto's heart, Hiruzen Sarutobi is always the one who saved him from darkness and loneliness.
If an accident happened in the future and the tailed beast went berserk, he could also rely on this strong "bond" he created since childhood to awaken the humanity in Naruto's heart and avoid the worst situation from happening.
But despite all his calculations, he never expected that Uchiha Fugaku's youngest son would actually start to remember things when he was less than three months old. In order to prevent the two children from irritating Naruto by continuing this topic, he had to send a shadow clone over in advance.
In addition to steering the conversation away from Kyuubi, he also wanted to see the nature of this precocious child and whether he could become a ninja who recognized the will of fire like Uchiha Kagami or Shisui.
Of course, the most important thing is to determine whether Giyu's approach to Naruto was due to someone else's intentional guidance.
He narrowed his eyes into the shape of a crescent moon that a kind old grandfather should have, and looked at Giyu with a smile, thinking that this would make him lower his guard.
But the elders Giyu was used to were the stern type like Mr. Urokodaki, and he had some difficulty recognizing expressions. All the superficial work done by Sarutobi Hiruzen was like throwing rocks into the sea, without making any waves.
Giyu's only impression of Sarutobi Hiruzen was that he felt that the old man looked familiar.
[The shape of this beard reminds me that I have seen it somewhere before...]
"Grandpa, he is Uchiha Giyu, and he gave me the mask before."
After Naruto finished speaking, he happily turned to Giyu, "This old man is very nice. Since I lived here, he is the only one who has come to visit me."
In Naruto's eyes, the two people in front of him were the rare warmth in his short life.
"But the old man always said that he was a Hokage, so he must be bragging. The Hokage is the strongest person in the village, how can he look so unimpressive? Right, Giyu."
Naruto Uzumaki smiled and waited for Giyu to agree.
But Giyu suddenly realized it.
[No wonder he looks so familiar. ]
"You are indeed the Third Hokage."
He said directly, "The third statue on the Hokage Rock is very similar to you."
"Eh?!"
Now it was Naruto's turn to be surprised.
He suddenly ran up to Sarutobi Hiruzen and stared at him from close range. The pupils in his beautiful blue eyes shrank into cute circles, filled with the word suspicion.
"real or fake?!
"But the Third Hokage on Hokage Rock is obviously fierce! He is completely different from you."
"Ahem, that's what I looked like when I first became Hokage. Of course it will change now."
Sarutobi Hiruzen clenched his fist and coughed, but his attention was on the expressionless Giyu.
From Giyu's tone, he analyzed that the other party didn't seem to have any respect for his Hokage. It should be affected by the atmosphere of the Uchiha clan, which was not a big deal.
Two years ago, there was a genin named Uchiha Flame who called him old, weak and fatuous in public at Barbeque Q, which to a certain extent reflected Uchiha's attitude towards him.
So from Uchiha Giyu's mouth, can we know what Fugaku, the patriarch, thinks of him and the village?
He looked at Giyu with a kind smile.
"Is your name Giyu? I remember that you should be Fugaku and Mikoto's child, right?"
"Yes." Giyu nodded.
This was the first time he saw Hokage in person.
In his understanding, Hokage is the strongest person in the village, equivalent to the existence of Himejima Gyōmei in the Demon Slayer Corps.
But is the short old man in front of him really so powerful?
"As expected, it's you. Your late grandfather and I are old friends, and I watched your father grow up. If you don't mind, just call me grandpa like Naruto."
The old man first explained the origin of the two families, and then asked seemingly casually: "Your parents must have mentioned me, old man, to you, right?"
Kakashi outside the window rolled his eyes.
Shisui had told him that Uchiha Giyu never lied, and it seemed that the Third Hokage should be able to come up with a lot of words today.
But no one could have imagined that the answer given by Giyu was surprisingly short.
"mentioned."
Then there is nothing further.
It's like someone just showed you a fragrant delicacy, but took the food away before you could get close.
Sarutobi Hiruzen: "..."
[This kid was very talkative just now when he was talking about expired milk with Naruto. ]
[Or is it that he is influenced by his family and doesn’t trust me at all? ]
Although he was a little frustrated, Sarutobi Hiruzen did not show it on his face. Instead, he asked shamelessly: "Giyu, do you hate grandpa a little? Can you tell grandpa why? Is there something that grandpa didn't do well?"
He seems to be really trying to please the children, but this is actually another way of asking questions in a circumstantial way to test the Fugaku family's attitude toward him.
Naruto suddenly became nervous.
He didn't want to see a conflict between two people who rarely treated him well in his life, especially when one of them was the Hokage.
"I don't hate you."
Giyu's standard grammar appeared again, and Kakashi outside the window seemed to have returned to that day.
"I just want to know, aren't all the orphans in the village raised in the orphanage until they are nine years old? Why does Naruto live here alone?"
It was hard for him to imagine that a child who could be taken care of by the Hokage himself would live such a life.
Sarutobi Hiruzen's smile froze.
This was an unfolding that he didn't expect. Giyu would actually put himself in Naruto's shoes and ask him questions. This was very unusual for an Uchiha.
Naruto, who had never had a similar problem before, also cast a questioning look.
"Grandpa, if you were Hokage, why don't you just let me live in the orphanage?"
[In that case, at least I won’t be alone. ]
"Um……"
Sarutobi Hiruzen's embarrassment was fleeting.
He could even handle the entanglement of the Hokage advisor, so how could he be troubled by two children.
"You don't know this. The children in the orphanage are all war orphans from other countries. Their parents are not from the village, so the village can only guarantee them the minimum treatment. And Naruto's parents are from the village. Ninjas, of course, must be treated differently."
Sarutobi Hiruzen paused, "In addition, the orphans of the village ninjas will become ninjas in the future. In order to train their self-care ability, we decided to let them live alone from childhood. Not only Naruto, but also the orphans of the village ninjas. This is how they grew up.”
Hearing the word "parents", Naruto felt a little depressed, and Sarutobi Hiruzen also felt a little guilty in his heart, but it would not affect his decision-making as Hokage.
"What about milk?"
Giyu then asked. Although he didn't mean to question, his cold face seemed a bit aggressive.
"Naruto said you come to see him often, haven't you noticed that he has been drinking expired milk? And why are the people in the village unwilling to sell things to him?"
[That's all Danzo's fault. ]
Sarutobi Hiruzen really wanted to blurt it out.
But to be honest, Danzo's plan to isolate Naruto from the villagers was his tacit approval.
"This is indeed an oversight on my part."
Sarutobi Hiruzen showed an expression of shame, which was either true or false, "I'm usually very busy with work. It's a rare occasion for me to see Naruto, but I didn't find these problems. This is all my negligence. Thanks to you, Giyu, if It would be nice if all the children in the village were as careful as you."
He first praised Giyu, and then looked at Naruto with an apologetic look: "I'm sorry Naruto, this is all grandpa's fault. I didn't expect you to have such a hard time..."
Sure enough, it was just as Sarutobi Hiruzen expected.
Naruto, who was used to pleasing him, was startled and said repeatedly: "It's okay! Anyway, my body is very good, I just have diarrhea occasionally, it's not a big problem, hahaha."
"Anyway, grandpa promises you that he will notify the village and let them sell things to you again."
Sarutobi Hiruzen made a promise.
"Really?"
Naruto's eyes widened, almost bursting into tears. He rushed up and hugged Sarutobi Hiruzen's waist, "Thank you, Grandpa Hokage!"
He didn't know, and Giyu couldn't understand it, but Kakashi outside the room felt cold in his heart, lamenting how cunning the third hokage was.
In just a few words, he first avoided the key question of "Why didn't the villagers sell things to Naruto?", then used a sincere apology to arouse Naruto's guilt, and finally solved the problem directly, making Naruto feel guilty about him. His favorability and dependence increased dramatically on the spot.
But from beginning to end, he never answered the question of why the villagers treated Naruto differently, and easily bypassed it...
If it were him, Kakashi, who was Hokage, he would have found an excuse and left on the spot.
On the other hand, Giyu heard that Naruto could go shopping by himself in the future, and felt that the plan to make him healthy was easier, and his stern expression relaxed unconsciously.
This scene fell into Sarutobi Hiruzen's eyes and made him certain of one thing, that is——
This child really cares about Naruto.
Being able to stand in the shoes of a stranger whom he just met and argue with him, the Hokage.
Based on this alone, Giyu is already very different from most narrow-minded Uchihas.
As long as he is guided correctly, he can become a ninja like Kagami and Shisui, and regard the village and others as more important than himself and the Uchiha clan.
This is the inheritance of the Will of Fire!
[However, I heard that this kid doesn't want to become a ninja... But Fugaku probably won't allow this. The speed this kid showed before is proof of that. ]
The third hokage's mind was active, and he chatted with Naruto for a few words, and gradually brought the topic to another topic: "By the way, Naruto, grandpa will bring you some books tomorrow. Next March, you will be going to ninja school, so you have to prepare well before you can keep up with others."
As he said that, he smiled slyly, "If Naruto studies hard and his admission scores are satisfactory, I will tell the teacher at the ninja school to put you and Giyu in the same class. How about you? Maybe you will be able to Become deskmates."
"Do you mean what you say?"
"Of course." The old man nodded as if he was succeeding.
Before, he wasn't sure about persuading Naruto, who was always bullied by his peers, to go to school, but now he was. Next, it is enough to make sure that Giyu will also go to school.
With this child's character of easily putting himself in other people's shoes, if he became friends with many children in the village, he would definitely not give up his allegiance to the Uchiha clan.
And his attitude towards the village will definitely affect Uchiha Itachi, who is favored by the senior officials.
[When the time comes, we will be able to investigate clearly any movements within the Uchiha clan and Fugaku's attitude in time and prepare in advance. ]
Sure enough, when Naruto thought about someone he knew in the same class at the Ninja School, he exhaled two long, thick breaths from his nose, "I, Naruto Uzumaki, will definitely work hard!"
After saying the declaration, he turned around suddenly and held Giyu's hand, "I will definitely be in the same class as Giyu!
"When the time comes, will you be willing to be my deskmate?"
The pressure came to Giyu.
He stared at Naruto's warm little hands, feeling a little at a loss.
Itachi had also persuaded him to go to the ninja school during this period, but Giyu knew very well that although the resolution of the Flame Breathing had been refreshed, the most convenient place to increase the resolution of the Moon Breathing was still the Uchiha clan.
Going to school would waste a lot of time, so he might as well get along with those clansmen who were open-minded.
In addition, Itachi graduated from the Ninja School at the age of seven, and the source of Uchiha Giyu's strength was not Ninjutsu, and studying there would not make him stronger.
The key is--
"I don't want to be a ninja."
With determination, he pulled his hand out of Uzumaki Naruto's hand, and Naruto's bright eyes gradually dimmed visibly.
"why?"
He asked unwillingly, "Don't everyone in the village want to become ninjas?"
Giyu took the initiative to avoid his sight.
Instead, Sarutobi Hiruzen smiled as expected, "I understand, Giyu doesn't want to hurt others, right?"
Giyu unexpectedly raised his head and glanced at the Third Hokage, which confirmed the rumors he had heard before.
[Such a soft-hearted Uchiha is really rare...]
[But the softer the heart, the easier it is to persuade, because they always care too much about other people’s feelings...]
"It doesn't matter. Let the children in the village go to ninja school just so that they won't be too lonely and learn some knowledge and understand the world."
The Third Hokage said slowly: "It doesn't mean that you have to become a ninja if you go to a ninja school. If you have any concerns, just don't take the exam."
"And as far as I know, you have a twin brother named Sasuke. Doesn't he also want to go to a ninja school?
"If you don't go to school, he and Naruto will be very lonely."
Hearing Sasuke's name, Giyu hesitated, but immediately strengthened his will.
If he didn't have the goal of resurrecting the Hashira, maybe he just nodded because he was soft-hearted. But now, he has more important tasks, and he really can't "waste his time" in the ninja school.
Just when he was about to refuse Third Hokage's invitation to go to school again, a familiar voice suddenly sounded.
[Stay close to Naruto Uzumaki for 1 hour, and the resolution of the sun breathing will increase by 0.005%. ]
"?"
Giyu was stunned for a moment, his eyes rolling on Uzumaki Naruto's face.
This is the first time in several months that he has obtained the resolution of the sun Breathing, and the quantity is so large!
This means that Naruto possesses extremely high-quality Yang chakra (Kyuubi:...)!
[Introduction to the sun breathing is the condition for resurrecting Kanroji Mitsuri. Although the analysis of Moon Breathing will slow down if he goes to school, it will still increase steadily... But if he misses Naruto, it will be troublesome to find reasons to spend a long time together in the future. ]
"Hokage-sama."
Giyu suddenly used the honorific, "How long do students have to stay at Ninja School every day?"
"10 hours, longer in the summer."
Sarutobi Hiruzen was a little surprised, why did Giyu ask such a question that the Nara family liked to ask the most.
So he added, "There are still 20 days of vacation every year."
After hearing this number, Giyu made some calculations in his head, and finally nodded in Uzumaki Naruto's expectant eyes.
"Then I am willing to go to Ninja School."
