Uchiha Giyu Chapter 19
🕑 Added 2023-11-04 23:44:01 +0000 UTCChapter 19 The Magical Uses of Kotoamatsukami
Seeing the lifelike transparent water blade in Giyu's hand, Uchiha Shisui was really amazed. He felt that this scene was even stranger than all the cats under Granny Neko barking.
[How is this done? ]
There was only this huge doubt left in his mind.
Although Uchiha's Sharingan has the function of copying ninjutsu, it is not that simple at first glance.
For example, Kakashi, who is nicknamed the Copy Ninja, has copied nearly a thousand ninjutsu. But the prerequisite for him to be able to learn these techniques is that he can change all the five chakra properties, and he has experience in creating ninjutsu like Raikiri, so he is proficient in all the principles of the Five Elements Release Technique, so that he can use the Sharingan. The basic function of 'copying' is better than most Uchihas.
But the problem is Giyu——
Not only did he not use the Sharingan just now, but he also didn't understand the basic principles of ninjutsu. He just watched Itachi do it!
Just once, he not only learned a B-level water release ninjutsu, but he also performed it better than Itachi, without even forming a seal!
Didn't you see that there is writing under the water blade?
[Is it because the water attribute affinity is too high? ]
Shisui's brain was spinning rapidly as a Jonin.
[No, it shouldn't be entirely true. This can only explain his higher level of ninjutsu completion and the problem of getting water directly from the waterfall. ]
[But if he wants to directly perform the technique without forming seals to guide chakra, unless he has completed this technique thousands of times and is thoroughly familiar with the rules and routes of chakra's movement through the paths in the body, but this is obviously impossible. ]
[Wait, Chakra, running route? ]
These words reminded Shisui of something familiar.
Suddenly, a bold guess formed in Shisui's mind, so bold that even Uchiha, who possesses the Mangekyō Sharingan Eye, found it unbelievable.
[Think carefully first...]
As Itachi practiced this ninjutsu over and over again in his mind, Giyu stared at Itachi's motionless expression, as if he wanted to penetrate his body directly with his gaze.
This reminded Shisui of an incident more than two years ago.
He took Itachi on a Jonin exercise, during which they fought against members of the Root Organization who suddenly appeared.
Itachi had just opened the Sharingan at that time and was not yet familiar with the dynamic vision of the Sharingan. As a result, he sprained his ankle during the battle, and Shisui had to carry him home. That night, it was Giyu who opened the door for them.
Shisui remembered that that time Giyu stared at Itachi's ankle with a similar look.
Then, he raised his head again and looked at Shisui with his empty, clear eyes, like a bottomless pool, as if he wanted to see deeply into his head.
That feeling was the same as when he was stared at with Byakugan by the ninjas of the Hyuga clan on the battlefield during the Third War.
So Shisui made a joke to Itachi at that time, and he blurted it out just like this time.
"I suspect Giyu actually has Byakugan."
Only this time, he wasn't joking.
When Itachi heard this, he blinked speechlessly and did not answer. Shisui also consciously made a mistake and patted his head gently to dispel this intuitive thought.
"Giyu, let's give it a try."
At this time, Itachi said to Giyu, who had a sword condensed on his finger, "Let's see if the structure of this water blade can cut through things."
Itachi had long been used to the fact that Giyu could always surprise him, and he didn't bother to think about these strange behaviors. Instead, he worried about Giyu's character problem, which was the price of having such outstanding talent.
"good."
Giyu held the water blade horizontally outside his body, looked around, and spotted a huge boulder protruding from the water reservoir.
After years of washing and soaking by water, this stone has become very smooth.
Rather than destroying the few trees around, it would be more appropriate to use it on this stone to cut.
Giyu stepped lightly on the water, but there was not even a slight ripple, as if he himself was part of the water.
He raised the two fingers of his right hand and slanted them in front of his chest along with the water blade, and then made a mediocre horizontal slash with his backhand. There was no movement to accumulate energy, but the chakra was already flowing along the meridians of his arm towards the fingertips. (meridians = chakras paths)
"Water Breathing·First Form: Water Surface Slash!"
The transparent water blade was pushed and swung out by the sudden waves. It looked like a beautiful glass product actively launching a suicide attack on the hard boulder, and it was about to be shattered.
However, reality is completely opposite to imagination.
This transparent water blade was like a hot knife cutting into butter, easily cutting open the boulder, but that was not all.
While the water blade is moving, the water at the blade's edge is still flowing in a complex, high-speed cycle like a crawler track, causing the water blade to continue cutting the stone while slashing.
Of course Giyu understands what this means——
If someone dares to use a thin-edged weapon like a ninja sword to engage a water ninja at close combat, be prepared to have the weapon destroyed directly.
As expected, in just half a second, the boulder more than two meters wide was cut off at the waist.
And where the water blade passed by, another broad and sharp thin wave of water surged out, shooting farther away. It didn't fall until it flew five meters away, melting with the coldness in the pool. As one body.
"It seems that every Sword attack form of Giyu, in addition to taijutsu slashing, will also trigger something similar to ninjutsu."
Shisui could clearly see that the wave of water that had just been stimulated was very sharp. It was not much worse than the slash that Giyu had made directly with the water blade. It was probably no less powerful than a C-level ninjutsu, like a smaller version of Water Release: Water breaks waves.
"Itachi, you said before that Giyu's 'Water Breathing' has a total of eleven forms?"
"That's right." Itachi nodded.
"That means that Giyu invented... eleven type of offensive water release ninjutsu by himself?"
Shisui still can't forget the "water dragon bullet" he saw last time, and it was only one of the eleven forms.
"You could say that."
Itachi responded with a smile, a bit of pride on his face, but it was soon replaced by a kind of contemplation.
"It seems like it was the right time for him to come here this time."
Shisui's expression became more and more exciting. Itachi had already demonstrated the taijutsu version of water breathing to him.
But the ninjutsu version combined with chakra can only be used by Giyu.
"Giyu, do you have more chakra left?"
Shisui asked loudly.
"It didn't consume much."
Giyu walked back to the shore through the water and came to the two of them. The water blade at his fingertips disappeared directly, "Maybe it's because of the waterside."
"That's what water release is like. Whether you can occupy the right location will have a great influence on water release ninjas."
Then, Shisui changed the subject, "Now that the weapon issue has been resolved, it's time for us to fulfill our agreement."
He looked seriously and said to Giyu: "Giyu, next, fight me with all your strength and let me see what you can do. After you are done, I will lend you this place."
"Are we going to fight here?"
Giyu looked around, seeming to regret the beautiful scenery here.
The scene of the last time he used First Form: Water Surface Slash to plow three feet of ground was still vivid in his mind, but Shisui asked him to use all his strength.
Now it has been more than four months since the last time he took action. During this period, his body has been continuously strengthened by the breathing method. He has no idea what his full strength is.
But once a fight breaks out, it will definitely not be difficult to destroy this mountain stream.
"Of course not here anymore. Aren't you going to live here for a while?"
Shisui smiled handsomely, "Besides, we are doing this near a shrine, and the movement will easily attract the attention of the clan. We need to find a place where no one can find it, so that we can safely conduct this competition."
What Giyu can do cannot be discovered by the clan, and neither can Konoha.
Although Shisui had great trust in his grandfather's old friend, the Third Hokage, he could never get along with those Hokage advisors.
"Shisui, do you want to leave the village?"
Itachi was a little worried. This place was already outside the barrier. If he went further and escaped from the range of the patrol squad, he would be leaving the village without permission.
He had already promised his father that he would find an opportunity to join the Anbu. This kind of mistake must not be made for the time being, otherwise he would probably fail in his efforts.
"I have a better place."
With that said, Shisui put away the Second Hokage's scroll and walked towards the hut by the waterfall, "Come in first."
Giyu and Itachi followed in confusion.
The inside of the house was as simple as the outside, with only a low table and a few straw mats. There were fishing tackle and pots in the corner, but they looked like they hadn't been used for a long time.
"You two sit over there and face me together."
Shisui sat down first, then pointed to his three tomoe Sharingan and said: "Look at me, don't resist, got it?"
Giyu and Itachi nodded at the same time.
Shisui noticed their unreserved trust and smiled happily.
Before his smile subsided, the shape of his eyes changed - from three independent tomoe, they gradually twisted and reorganized into the shape of a shuriken, but the four corners of the shuriken appeared slightly twisted.
"Kotoamatsukami."
With a low groan, Giyu and Itachi came to their senses, only to find that they were still sitting there, and Shisui was looking at them with a smile. It was as if nothing had happened just now.
"Shisui?"
Itachi's expression was a little surprising, "Before you..."
[You used the Mangekyō Sharingan technique on me and Giyu? ]
He looked around and checked the chakra in his skull using the method of breaking illusions, but found nothing abnormal.
But in the next second, except for the three of them and the table in front of them, all the surrounding scenes suddenly changed.
The original dark brown wooden house suddenly melted into a pool of deformed yellow paint. The same thing happened under their feet and above their heads - that is to say, except for them and this table, everything around them... melted.
"Don't worry, this is just an application of my pupil technique. Your spiritual bodies are now in my illusion space."
Shisui stood up, strong confidence emerging from his brows, "Everything here is under my control."
"For example, we can travel to the Kingdom of Wind..."
He clapped his hands gently, and the melted "dyes" in the background began to recombine. In just a few seconds, they arrived on a barren hill covered with yellow sand.
A gust of dry and violent wind swept away the sand and dust, brushing against Giyu's skin like sandpaper.
The dim and dirty wind forced him to squint his eyes, and there was a slight grainy feeling in his mouth.
More importantly, the efficiency of the water breathing he was running had dropped significantly due to changes in the environment.
[Is this really an illusion? ]
Before he could react, Giyu was enveloped in a bone-chilling cold.
The yellow sand in the sky turned into white snow, and the dark sky could not be seen at a glance, but the efficiency of water breathing suddenly increased.
"You can also come to the Land of Snow to experience an avalanche firsthand."
As soon as Shisui finished speaking, there was a terrible loud noise above the heads of Giyu and Itachi.
They raised their necks and looked at the mountaintop behind them through the dense snow powder flying back and forth. A white torrent was rushing towards them along the mountain, and before the two of them could react, it instantly submerged them.
The next moment, they poked their heads out of the salty water, dripping wet, and looked at the boundless sea. A vast island was not far away, like a blue whale hanging on the water.
"It is also possible to go boating outside the Kingdom of Water."
Shisui's voice sounded again, and the three of them came to Konoha Hokage Rock, above the head of the Second Hokage, Senju Tobirama.
The sun streaked across the sky at an incredible speed, and Konoha, which had just been noon just now, suddenly ushered in the night, and the bright moon seemed to be pulled with great force, getting closer and closer to the three of them...
At this point, Giyu and Itachi finally understood what Shisui meant.
[Everything here is under my control. ]
"I'm done showing off."
Shisui sat back down proudly, and with a wave of his hand, the table that was empty just now was filled with the three-color meatballs that Itachi loved to eat. A nine-tailed demon fox more than one meter tall suddenly appeared, holding a teapot in his hand and pouring tea for the three of them.
"How's it going? Isn't it awesome?"
"you……"
Itachi looked at Kyuubi holding a teacup in both hands and handed it to him, dumbfounded, "You couldn't have used that jutsu of yours just for this kind of thing."
The Technique that Shisui used is called Kotoamatsukami.
According to him, this technique can control a person's spirit and make the other person believe anything, making him a puppet of the illusion. If Shisui implants the thought "you are dead" into the opponent, the opponent will die directly after the illusion ends.
As for the specific method, Itachi has now seen it.
Shisui pulled people's mental bodies directly into his illusion space, and these people could only be at his mercy, with no power to resist at all.
(This is a reference to Kotoamatsukami in the game "Naruto: Ultimate Storm". It has no impact on Shisui's strength. It just adds some details to the way the illusion works.)
However, he remembered that Shisui said that once this technique was used, the power of the eyes would not be restored for several years.
"Don't worry Itachi, I just pulled people into this illusion space. It won't cause much damage to the eyes. They will be fine after a few days of rest."
Shisui smiled and took a sip of tea, "Only when I want to modify the beliefs of others' spiritual bodies, or directly eliminate them, will I really use that power."
Hearing what he said, Itachi felt relieved.
"How about it? Here, Giyu and I can fight boldly with confidence."
Shisui turned his attention to Giyu, who was staring at the Nine-Tails fiercely, "Even a life and death fight is just an illusion here. As long as I don't let it come true, it will have no actual impact on him. After the illusion is over, it all feels like a dream.”
"A fight between life and death?"
Itachi's heart that had just been relieved was lifted again. He stared at Shisui and said seriously: "It's not necessary."
Although this is an illusory zone, since Giyu is so young, once he experiences the feeling of death or the pain of injury, there is no guarantee that it will not affect his spirit.
"I promised him to attack with all his strength without any scruples. How can I go back on my word?"
Shisui waved his hand gently, and what they saw in front of them changed again.
The table came to two huge statues standing opposite each other, and a waterfall larger than the Naka River poured down from between them.
This is the Valley of the End.
The place of the decisive battle between Uchiha Madara and Senju Hashirama.
"Besides, at Giyu's age, you have already seen what war and death are like, and have personally experienced the danger of life and death. You should know how dangerous this world is."
"Although Giyu is very strong, he has a soft heart. If you leave him here alone and don't know exactly what kind of trouble he can deal with, can you really rest assured?
"In addition, I think it will be good for him to have a sense of crisis. At least it can make him understand how much of a threat an ordinary jōnin can bring to him."
"..."
He was too lazy to refute anything like an ordinary jōnin.
Itachi lowered his head and was silent for a while, and finally looked at his brother beside him, "Giyu, if you are afraid..."
"Then come on."
Giyu stood up, and a beam of water gushed out from his fingertips, eventually forming a half-meter-long blade.
He looked at the bright white moon in the sky and whispered words that only he could understand: "I also want to know what kind of dangers they will face after they appear in this world."
