"Did Sakumo really commit suicide because of this kind of thing?"
That was after the funeral. Ayane went to Shiraishi alone and asked this question.
In Ayane's opinion, it is impossible for Sakumo to commit suicide because of such a boring question about which is more important, his companion or the task.
The Sakumo I knew would never be such a man.
This is also where Ayane is puzzled, and she hopes to get an answer from Shiraishi.
"What do you mean?"
"The cause of Sakumo-Sensei's death."
"This is not important anymore."
Shiraishi glanced at her and said to her.
"I feel worthless for Sakumo-Sensei."
Ayane felt uncomfortable and let out a long breath.
"Sakumo-Sensei is not suitable to be a ninja, he is just one of the tragic products of this ninja era."
Ayane was a little at a loss for Shiraishi's words, and looked at him in astonishment.
"There is no answer to the question you are wondering from the beginning. The task is professional ethics, and the companion... is a human choice. Either one is the right answer, or all of them are wrong. The key lies in how the upper-level defines this matter."
"But Sakumo-Sensei gave up the mission and caused the village to lose..."
Speaking of this, Ayane discovered the problem.
is even more confused.
What is the mission of Sakumo-Sensei?
What did the village lose?
The upper layer did not give any explanation, but let the villagers imagine freely.
That is to say, from the beginning, the question of which is important between companions and tasks does not exist.
It is true that Ayane knows that Sakumo attaches great importance to his companions, but since the whole mission is based on a deception, it doesn't make sense to choose any one.
Ayane understood what Shiraishi meant.
Both answers are both correct and both are wrong.
Which one to choose is not important, what matters is how the upper layer defines it.
Today, the partner can be greater than the task, and tomorrow the task can be greater than the partner.
In the eyes of the upper echelon, this is just a political struggle about the election of the Fourth Hokage.
It has no other meaning.
With fetters as the core, everyone is the will of a family member—the will of fire. Unknowingly, it has become a political tool for the high-level people to fight for power and profit and control the voice of the village.
It is no longer the belief and soul of a village.
And the villagers were unaware of this, and the hippie faces were involved.
There is no more desperate fact than this.
Ayane shuddered a little.
She could imagine what despair Sakumo was facing at that time.
This is just a funny political fight.
How to choose tasks and companions has never been the problem.
Sakumo did not commit suicide because of this kind of problem.
He just saw a village that had completely deteriorated.
"When did it start?"
The root cause of making this decision is definitely not because of this incident.
The seeds were planted a long time ago, but what puzzled Ayane was when Sakumo was disappointed by the village higher-ups.
Seeing the doubt on Ayane's face, Shiraishi sighed and asked:
"Ayane, you don't think that Sakumo-Sensei knew nothing about the mission a few years ago?"
Ayane was taken aback.
She knew that Shiraishi was talking about the mission event when they had a conflict with Root four years ago.
"Sakumo-Sensei..."
"How could a person like him not understand the abnormal transfer order of Orochimaru. He was recuperating in the village for two months because of his injury. What kind of injury can make people recuperate for two months? If it is really that serious, just withdraw from the battlefield. Returning to the battlefield will only drag others down."
Shiraishi picked up a leaf from the ground, put it in his hand, fiddled with it and observed it with great interest, while saying this to Ayane.
"Did he start to have doubts at that time? I thought the three of us had passed our acting skills."
Ayane gave a wry smile.
"The acting skills are fine. If the three of us hadn't returned to the battlefield alive and kicking, but lacked arms and legs, and tried to dress as miserable as possible, Sakumo-Sensei wouldn't be suspicious."
Holding the leaves tightly in his hands, Shiraishi whispered these words while looking at the gloomy sky.
"The so-called protection of companions is not to choose between companions and tasks, but to protect everything that must be protected. This is the core fetter of the will of fire. It has never been a tool for political struggle, or even used to persecute and fool companions."
Shiraishi guessed that Sakumo must have learned something, whether it was Sannin who revealed something to him, or he learned about it through other channels, this matter is not important anymore.
The life of a ninja named Sakumo Hatake ends here.
And when he decided to leave, the will of fire that he obeyed in his heart also completely collapsed.
"I still can't imagine what kind of mood Sakumo-Sensei had in committing suicide."
"Don't have to imagine, because for those of us who don't believe in the will of fire, we can't experience that kind of despair."
"Will the high-level people wake up?"
At the end, Ayane became suspicious.
"If he understands, there won't be this political struggle. That's why I said that Sakumo-Sensei is not suitable to be a ninja. He is too pure and ideal. He is suitable to be a teacher and educate people, not a ninja."
This is also where Shiraishi feels sad for Sakumo.
He is so pure and ideal, he is a powerful ninja, and he also threatens the layout of the fourth generation of Hokage.
The high-level executives did not have the idea of forcing Sakumo to death, but this method was the most unacceptable one for Sakumo.
He knew that Ayane couldn't bear it, but it was Sakumo's own choice.
It is something no one can stop.
At the moment his faith was shattered, Konoha White Fang had already died.
"Yeah, now I can only hope that there will be a great person in Konoha in the future, who will discover the Hokage of this vicious cycle."
Shiraishi was not convinced either.
Among the high-level Konoha, is it really possible to have a Hokage who is not blinded by the desire for power and who has the courage to reform all of this?
Therefore, Sakumo declared his ambition by death, while Shiraishi held a pessimistic attitude.
However, Shiraishi was not very interested in this.
His path did not lie with Konoha from the very beginning.
Whether Konoha will have the Hokage that Sakumo expected in the future has nothing to do with Shiraishi.
The story belonging to Konoha White Fang ends here, but his life has just begun.

"Shiraishi-Senpai, companions and missions...which one is more important?"
Returning to Sakumo's tomb, only Kakashi was left standing here.
When Shiraishi and Ayane came here, their hearts sank when they heard the question Kakashi asked.
"When Sakumo-Sensei made his choice, he never regretted it."
"But he died..."
"Death is just a relief, not a mistake."
"Yeah?"
After Kakashi whispered this sentence, he left in a daze, like a walking dead.
"Why didn't you tell him what happened?"
Ayane looked at Shiraishi incomprehensibly.
"Taking good care of Kakashi is not only Sakumo-sensei's entrustment, but for a child with incomplete life values, it is too easy to go to extremes. Let him use his own eyes to see everything in this village."
When he learned to question, he could understand why Sakumo died.
Instead of being entangled in boring questions and answers to the extent of what tasks and companions.
Even if Shiraishi said it now, it would only be counterproductive. Let Kakashi be exposed to the darkness of Konoha prematurely, which would be detrimental to his future life.
Shiraishi believes that Konoha's top management will definitely be his best support.
He doesn’t even need to make arrangements, the higher-ups will offer to do it for him.
In this matter, Shiraishi has more confidence in these high-level officials than in himself.
Come to think of it, these guys never let themselves down.
Isn't this the best proof?
Moreover, the opportunity will come soon.
Sakumo's suicide must have given them a headache too.
After all, such a precious and important combat power has been lost.
"When he goes out to perform tasks, I will send someone to follow him secretly. As for the truth of the matter, let's wait until he understands something. Maybe he will understand it himself one day without us explaining it."
Became a Chunin at the age of six, his ninja talent is beyond doubt.
What he lacks is only the life experience facing the world, and a pair of insightful eyes to see through the essence of things.
Ayane also thinks this is a better solution.
When Kakashi asked which important question about the mission and his companions, Ayane already understood that he must have misunderstood something and fell into a dead end thinking.
He didn't realize at all why his father, Sakumo, chose the path of suicide.
Some things, let him wake up and question the village, it will be more effective than simply preaching.
Now he probably can't listen to anything, and it's meaningless to say more.
"Then, it's time for me to go back, Hyuga will leave it to you."
"Don't worry, I have my own measure over there."
Saying goodbye to Ayane, Shiraishi returned to the Uchiha clan.
At the moment when the funeral was about to end, Ruri came back first.
It can be seen that she is in a bad mood now, and even the work of the security team has been left behind, and she is upset.
"The funeral is over, so there's no need to frown like this? Why are you still sad about Sakumo-Sensei?"
Ruri, who was sitting in the corridor, heard the words in her ears, and turned her head to look in the direction of the sound.
"You seem quite calm."
Shiraishi walked to Ruri and sat down, gently holding her palm, watching the scenery in the courtyard with her.
"Sakumo-Sensei doesn't want anyone to be sad about his death. Whether it's us or others, this is a choice he made. He never resented anyone. He loves this village and the people here more than anyone else."
"I know. That's why I hate this kind of boring political struggle. So do the high-level people, the old guys in the clan, and the idiot villagers. The older people are, the more experienced they are, will they become this pitiful look?"
After Ruri finished speaking in one breath, she let out a long breath in the corridor, which showed that she was not at peace.
She never thought that Sakumo would leave this world with such a decisive attitude.
"The era chose ninjas, and ninjas chose this way of life."
"Choose?"
Ruri lowered her head, and after a little consideration, she lightly rested her forehead on Shiraishi's chest.
Shiraishi could feel the heat from Ruri's body through his clothes, and gently touched her snow-white cheek with his palm.
Immediately afterwards, he put his hand on Ruri's black hair, stroking carefully and gently.
Her hair is of good quality, dense and black, and very straight. She probably combs it carefully every day.
Anyway, she's a child.
"I'm not a child."
Ruri felt the movement in her hair, her brows frowned, and there was dissatisfaction in her voice.
She did not sweep away Shiraishi's hand which is playing with her hair.
Talk about not wanting and dissatisfaction, but in fact, the body is already very honest.
"Is there still something to do at the guard today?"
"I asked for leave in the morning, and there is nothing important to do anyway."
The forehead was raised from Shiraishi's chest, and began to rest on his thigh, lying defenseless on the floor of the corridor, closing her eyes, preparing for a lunch break.
Shiraishi looked at Ruri's unsuspecting state at the moment. Although it was nice to be able to see her sleeping face up close, he always felt that something was missing.
Think carefully, isn't there something missing on the other thigh?
At this moment, the face of another girl appeared in my mind.
"...I don't know why, but I suddenly feel a little uncomfortable? Do you know why?"
"This is your illusion, Ruri, you must be too tired today, I will call you again after dinner."
