💙 Incase Anyone Needs This 💙
🕑 Added 2022-01-10 21:31:05 +0000 UTC"This article is about Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder, but this part about mental health and seeking treatment really can be applied to so many other issues. Remember that your struggles are valid and deserve to be taken seriously."
For every uninterested, dismissive person, there will be a kind, empathetic person who sincerely wants to help. I've had many different experiences with mental health professionals and I promise there are people who care very much about patient mental health.
I think this can be especially prevalent for those of us who often present as high functioning - just because you can mask your struggles, doesn't mean you're not struggling or that you don't deserve help.
Please be kind to yourself and please reach out - it's the only way any of us survive. No man is an island - not even when he feels like one - and especially not when he's convinced that he deserves to be one.
You deserve help, support, and the knowledge that people absolutely care.
Best wishes,
Tea

don't forget to bring an able-bodied person to advocate for you if you can, because doctors are often ableist (:
