The Ultimate Passive Paradigm will end its 1st volume on chapter 82. I've already written it and will upload it soon with the navigation index page.
It's been such a wild journey every time I pick up my pen—in this case, my keyboard—to start writing again. This time, it had greater success than before. I've gotten better, more disciplined in producing, planning, and well, writing. Writing is never easy since there's a saying: "Once you write, you never stop writing." To some extent, I agree with it since you uncontrollably look for ideas, details, and knowledge in everyday life. It can be overwhelming sometimes. But I enjoy and love it nonetheless.

However, life can be a little tricky. Lately, it's not that I don't want to give you extra content each week (3 chapters per week), but things have gotten out of control. I'm a freelancer. The jobs I received were adequate enough so that I could have more time to work on what I love—writing fiction, as you know. But instability loomed on the horizon.
Two months ago, my most frequent and biggest contractor let me know about their current situation. They could no longer afford to hire me. Since then, I've spent time trying to work this out. We tried to save the situation, but the world happens. There's no one to blame; it's just how everything unfolded. And last week, we officially parted ways.
That's why you've seen me uploading the story faster. It's a coping mechanism when things go bad.
I started looking back at one of my stories that I wrote briefly last year when I realized there might be no way out after weeks of talking to the contractor. This story, Path of The Last Survivor, had reached a dead end. I wrote 15 chapters but couldn't see a way forward for it—no overall picture or guideline in my head that could steer and keep it straight.
The Ultimate Passive Paradigm didn't have this problem. It came to me pretty easily. Maybe because I always loved the Ability Draft in Dota 2, which lets you pick skills and compete in 5v5 matches. I always aimed for the most powerful set of passive skills. You just have to go in and smash that right click.
So it was easy to build a system around that, with a little bit of this and that. Then it was created. The creative process can be elusive sometimes, yet it can also feel like a sudden revelation. And this revelation came when I opened the old files and looked at the story again. The path ahead opened up.
I sat down, opened OneNote and Whiteboard, and scribbled the story in my mind. And behold, the whole thing became clear, just like with The Ultimate Passive Paradigm. A place that the characters aim for appeared. Like Nathan's journey demands a destination. I found it for him, and now I've found it again for my old buddy, the main protagonist of Path of the Last Survivor.
I was sitting there, exhilarated with these sudden gifts. I want this story to be out there, to be read. And of course, in such a moment, reality hits you with a bang.
I just lost my biggest employer. My financial situation is unstable.
Then, I decided.
I will spend a month or two writing fiction. Most of my time will be dedicated to this. Maximum effort. To see how things go. If I get lucky enough to become a full-time author, that would be the dream. I would be able to ensure the longevity of the novels in my hands.
The grim part is that The Ultimate Passive Paradigm seems to have matured in its growth. It's steady but slow. I will try to complete book 2 to have a chance at publishing it on Kindle Unlimited and see how things go. If it succeeds there, I can continue writing to the end.
So I have to venture into something new. A new novel to test the market. To see if I can support both novels under the necessary conditions.
It would be great to spend all my time writing. There are so many things I want to tell you all. Therefore, I will try this out before going back to the capitalist grind. Finding a full-time job would hinder my ability to write, but then again, that's life. For now, I can spend my savings to support this career. I should slow down in releasing the new novel, but I don't have that luxury of time. Gotta make compromises somewhere.
I just wanted to rant a little and explain the situation I'm in right now. If you're still reading, thank you.
So the plan ahead is as described in the TL;DR. A new chapter of my life has come, and I hope it will be easy on me. Haha!
