Naughty Voices 0.8 Beta
🕑 Added 2022-04-01 05:18:24 +0000 UTCAttention! This is an unfinished beta and I strongly suggest you read the details of this post before installing it.
Before installing Naughty Voices, you must uninstall and clean save OVoice from your game save. Naughty Voices has hard conflicts with OVoice. I'm creating a Naughty Voices channel in my discord where you can learn how to do a clean save, gather other information on Naughty Voices, and share feedback as we go through beta iterations.
Not everyone will want this beta! It only includes seven of the 12 OVoice voice packs (expanded by 70% to 100% per voice pack) . The Naughty Voices mod is about three times the size of OVoice even without five voice packs because it's gone from three scripts to 53 scripts, the plugin has a lot more records, and it contains audio for two different playback engines whereas OVoice has only one.
What is different?
The playback system is completely overhauled. It runs on the concept of two playback engines per actor. Currently, this is Actor 2, the OStim female sub actor, so we are still only talking about females on the receiving end. However, once completed, Naughty Voices will be able to handle multiple actors including males.
If you are playing a female player character in the OStim sub role you should absolutely replace any version of OVoice with this Naughty Voices Beta. Why? Because thanks to the twin playback engines, Naughty Voices can perform vanilla vocalization for player characters. If you're playing a female character that receives instead of gives, OVoice does nothing for you and never has. Naughty Voices, even in this beta form, can voice your character.
Another difference you're likely to notice in this version is that Naughty Voices can recognize Ace's b**bjobs and voice them.
Lastly, and for OVoice fans this may be the most difficult difference to detect, Naughty Voices has less vocalization dead space and you can't hear the affected NPC speak the same line twice.
Known Bugs: Due to the twin playback engines, Naughty Voices must perform a timing dance where one engine overrides the other, literally shutting the secondary engine down temporarily. I've seen situations where the secondary engine remains shut down longer than it should and you'll end up with dead space like OVoice has. If you hear an NPC go longer than 10 seconds without performing a vocalization, you have experienced the bug. Naughty Voices will automatically correct the issue after a certain amount of time but I don't want the bug to exist at all. Information on reporting this error can be found in my discord.
Lastly, I need feedback. Naughty Voices is very clearly superior to OVoice but it is a lot of work and eats my time. I need to know if my patrons want me to continue.
The Naughty Voices Beta series will be available to all patrons, including Tier 1. It will never be available to the public. This is not an early access mod. It is a Patreon-exclusive mod.
