I've never been able to try a Model F, and I'd love to, just to see if they're as overrated as the Model M is.

The Beamspring (with solenoid) was designed to mimic the sound and feel of a selectric typewriter, and the Model F was intended to replicate the beamspring, so the Model F is probably the closest you’re practically going to get.

The finest keyboard I have ever used is the IBM Selectric and a few of its offspring, such as the 3215(?) on the IBM 370/145. No keyboard I have used since then comes even close, imo.
