Hope you enjoy it and it gets you pumped up for release. I'm really excited about it. I'm so ready for this one to be out and for you all to play it.
This last week, I've been doing a lot of testing and menu improvements on the game. I think you'll all like the additions I've made. I'm always looking for ways to make the menus more clear, the hint system more robust, and the sandbox less cumbersome.
Here's an example. I removed the percentage system a couple of updates ago. Some people weren't too happy about that. I wasn't terribly happy about it either. I liked the percentage system. It just wasn't working correctly and was causing a lot of issues that I did not like. So, I was thinking about ways to replace it. Most people don't care to know if they're 15% or 70% done with a story. They just want to know when they're 100% complete. They want it to say that they're done so that they don't have to waste time to go into the menu to see the hint for what to do next.
To that end, I've come up with this solution:
When you complete all of a character's content, it will change their nameplate on the affection menu - changing the color of the nameplate and also their image, indicating that they are "finished".
The other menu changes I'm working on are mostly visual. Things like making the sex screen (where you choose positions) indicate which positions you haven't seen yet, with a glow around those buttons. Things like changing some text menus that say "NEW CONTENT" into image buttons that use the pink/white Polaroids like the rest of the game. That's going to take some time and I'm not sure if I'll have it finished by release.
And the release dates have been announced now in the trailer!
Beta ($20+ Patrons) - November 27th
All Patrons/Premium Edition - December 4th
Free Edition - December 22nd
This is the first time I've not released on a Friday and am instead releasing the beta and premium edition on a Monday. This is because of Thanksgiving. I'll be out of town for the Thursday and Friday around Thanksgiving, so won't be able to get the final touches done on the Beta release until the weekend. That pushes the Premium release back a couple of days as well. And I decided to keep the free release on Friday two weeks later.
That's pretty much all I have to talk about right now. I'm really excited about this update. I'm feel very good about it. I can't wait for you all to play it. Currently putting it through all of my personal testing before sending it to Alphas next week. It's looking very good.
Hope you all have an amazing weekend! Love ya!

Honestly, any day is fine since I work pretty much every day anyways. But usually by the time release rolls around, I'm already working hard on the next update, and it's easier for my brain to take a break from what I'm working on and switch over to release mode on the weekends. Weekdays are like hard work days for me where I just buckle down and grind out as much work as possible. Releases distract me from that a lot, so I prefer them to be at the end of the week, where I could use a distraction. But, in the end it doesn't really matter all that much.

I've always been fond of Tuesday for releases, you get one workday before release to tidy things up and several wokdays after, to support the new release without needing weekend overtime. But I guess things are a bit different for projects that are less 'formal'.
