I think it is incredible how talented Drew is! I can actually get into this as tho they are different people! This could literally be a sitcom! All you people sweating rewarding the mediocre fictitious server: When I was a server, I was as cute as Bridgette and got tipped like Aaron. Servers do a lot of things beyond taking and serving orders for their station. Running hot food and refilling drinks for ALL stations, for starters. Tip pooling is fair.

There's an equation. Two peeps working. Server A from 4-9, Server B from 6-1. 12 hours total. $400 in tips. 400÷12hours=$33.33 per hour. Server A gets $33.33x5hours= $166.65. Server B gets 33.33x7hours= $233.31.

Good explanation for why "tip pooling" is not fair: It rewards the mediocre by taking from the really good. When I tip, I put cash into the server's hand, and say, "This is for you." Most servers are good. Some are excellent. A few are absolute crap. Crap does not deserve reward. Crap tips mean, "Find another way of supporting yourself."
