End of October Update
🕑 Added 2025-11-01 04:58:07 +0000 UTCWell, I gotta be honest, I can't believe we're already here. November is upon us and I have to be honest (ha, rhymes), I am nowhere near where I had hoped to be. So, this might be a disappointing update for some, let me explain.
To be frank, I had some life things come up that absorbed a lot of my energy and time these past two months. Obviously, the last gallery voted on at the beginning of October still hasn't come out. The second gallery is also going to get a vote. I'm going to be shaking up the gallery polls going forward, partly due to burnout on them and also as a way to try to refocus my energy on things that actually benefit the game.
I'll be honest, I sort of set myself up with the last poll. I thought I'd be fine with a random category for a random character but there are some characters, I'm realizing, that just need not be put into certain scenarios. So, for that reason, I won't be doing anymore gallery polls the way I have been doing, and I will not be doing the Rene gallery render. I'm real sorry if that disappoints you, but I really think it's content best left for the game and I really should have thought of that ahead of time. I'm sorry.
Going forward, I'm going to continue character votes. We'll do one a month, based on the needs of the game. To start, I am behind on creating character expression sheets. You can see some recent examples in the vip previews section on the discord. I have recently constructed an organization system to give every character a set of emotions plus some unique ones. These images can and will be used across a multitude of scenes, like avatars in any other RPG or dialogue heavy game.
I've got a work pipeline down that I think will help me do this rather quickly, so it's really just a matter of prioritizing characters that are currently prominent in the story but also using some spare time on character that are coming up.
So, the idea is, since I can't do it all at once, I will cast a vote to y'all for the character you'd like to see get a full spread of emotions per outfit. This will be characters I don't already plan to do this with. Super VIPs will get the option to vote on outfits.
This way, every image I render and share with you will be an image that eventually ends up in the game.
So... what has been going on with the game?
I am behind. Not going to lie.
There have been a bunch of bug fixes, QOL additions, and meta tweaks, but not much content. I know that sucks, but there has been a lot done that had been waiting in the wings that will improve over all game experience. Also, it's not like zero content has been added. I am currently working on wrapping up scenes with Stephanie and Joanne on the Veranda as well as the two of them interacting with Annalise in a story thread I intend for them to all three become friends with the help of the player.
What about alpha 2.x?
It's getting pushed way back.
Well, maybe not so far back, but it's not getting released now, or by the end of November.
At this point, I am aiming for a December release, probably around Christmas.
It's my poor planning combined with stupid shit going on in my life distracting me and maybe a little bit of over-optimistic hype on my part.
Even so, I think these are some good changes that will carry over into 2026 and bring some great results. I am particularly excited by the idea of gallery polls that instead of, albeit fun and exciting, unproductive renders that eat away at my time and creativity will contribute to the vast amount of resources needed to actually flesh out this game.
One thing I've realized in the past month is that my writing of actual scenes and the creative process that I utilize suffers when I feel I have to stop to make a render of a character or npc or whatever before I can continue. Being able to just pull from a pool of resources that are done and ready allows me to write more freely.
There are probably better ways to go about this, but I am only one person and my creative style is a bit chaotic, so this hopefully will reign in some of my more impulsive tendencies.
