When he was playing baseball with his team, he didn’t need to think about his broken family. Didn’t have to think about how Chris was always THERE. He was free. He got along excellently with his teammates, worked up a sweat, pushed his body to its limits. He felt alive.
This was one of the places that Chris couldn’t infiltrate. After all, Chris really couldn’t play baseball at the level that the school was at (they had a really strong baseball team) and the team had known Nicky much longer, so they couldn’t believe any stray rumors about him. He truly did enjoy his time playing with his team and kept it up in college too

Yes I did!! It’s a lot easier when they’re these kind of sketchy-looking things for sure 😮💨 anyway yes!! That baseball team and his teammates really did do a lot to keep his spirits up cos things were just … so bleak T the time. Oooo!!! I learn a new thing! Wow, you created / shared a lot today! 🤯 It's really nice that Nicky had a safe and reassuring environment with his baseball team. It must have been his "lifesaver" during this period of his life. (Sorry I don't know how to say "bouée de sauvetage" in English, it's either "lifesaver" or "lifeline" 😅).
