Introducing: Camellia
🕑 Added 2023-02-18 20:50:02 +0000 UTCI’ve already technically introduced Cam but I actually ended up making changes to their personality and their history revealed itself to me and I felt much more sympathetic to them.
Ok so, Camellia!
Pronouns: he/she/they, they really don’t care, use any you want. Their profession is… well basically any job in which they use their appearance. Escorting, modeling, sugar babying, you name it. As long as they are being appreciated for their beauty and are being paid.
Camellia (and Reid for that matter) is 26, didn’t go to college and doesn’t do any entrepreneurship with the money they make. They do support their family financially with it though. Otherwise they seem perfectly content with being Seen.
Camellia is childhood friends with Reid, and has shared many memories with him. But has also endured many things on their own. Born to a very poor family, Camellia has pretty much always had to figure shit out on their own. Their parents—while they absolutely loved their child—were always working, and Camellia had to learn to do most things for themselves. When they got a little older they even took on responsibilities their parents couldn’t due to time. Things like grocery shopping, cleaning, cooking and the like. Life was hard, yes, but Cam could tolerate. They still had dreams of being ridiculously rich and wealthy so they didn’t have to do all this and so that their parents could have more free time to spend with them.
But everything changed when, at 17, they were told that his parents were suddenly expecting another child. Carmella isn’t dumb. He knew what that meant for them. Their parents HAD to continue working, now even harder to support a new child, but they couldn’t leave this child all alone. The responsibility of taking care of this sibling would fall on them. And they KNEW that they couldnt stay any longer. They soon dropped out of high school and pursued their current lifestyle.
Now, WHILE THEY DID LEAVE LIKE THIS SO SUDDENLY, most of their income was being sent to their parents. They did this so that one of their parents could stay and take care of their sibling and still pay bills. But they never really went back to their family home. Many speculate it’s because they hold resentment and disgust towards their parents. But I can tell you it isn’t that. They very much love their parents. They love their parents very very much.

Unfortunately they really don’t. I don’t even think they know how the kid looks like 😭 their parents DO think they resent them. Before they left, they had a big fight where Cam finally aired out their years-long frustration at not having parents and money and their parents were very hurt to hear them say this. They haven’t met since and it’s been 10 years. They do talk with Reid so he does tell them what’s up w Cam tho 👌🏾
