Silence is wonderful, but don't let it get too quiet

I know I posted recently that I would make time for the novel, yet here I am again writing that I want to write. Today, I had a realization: maybe...just maybe, I could have postponed getting a job and stuck to writing more to see where it would go. Maybe the support was there, but I didn't give it enough time to get to the point of actually transforming itself into what I imagined at the start.
It's obviously much too late now, but I do want to say that I plan on continuing with Light My Way. More and more people are coming to the Discord server. More people are reviewing the story on Itch and new supporters are coming too. Some just for getting the latest chapter, others stay longer. I'm very happy about both and this really gives me more reason to push forward.
A note about my current job: it's not possible to quit for at least 2 years. So I'm quite trapped in a way. It's an easy and nice job, so there's nothing to complain on that side. It's just that I can't ditch it even if the novel suddenly becomes a fan favorite and I have loads of support. It's fine though and I'll get to editing at least soon enough. I am still in writer's block with the last chapters of the story. It's complicated to know how to tie it all up in a nice bow so that it ends how it should. I'm sure it will come to me once I get back into my groove. I work daily about 8 to 10 hours from around 12:00 to 20:00 and sometimes I start earlier or finish later. It's a demanding schedule from Tuesday to Saturday. My free days are Sunday and Monday and I plan on stabilizing myself sooner rather than later with this way how things go right now. I want to get back into the world of Light My Way, where there's a weird fox, a complicated tiger, a seemingly angry rabbit, and a soft lion waiting to find out what happens next. I miss them dearly.
Here's a snippet from the upcoming Chapter 6 - Change
"CATHERINE
Mr. Jinarah, I will see you tomorrow morning at 7 am sharp in my office. Don’t be late.
FABIAN
Of course, Cath...Ms. Refulgence.
So he doesn’t call her Catherine with anyone else around. I knew he wasn’t all that. Cocky rabbit.
CATHERINE
You each have to meet your teachers at 7 am as well. Take today to unwind and get your head in order. The next months are going to be challenging, so don’t waste your free time.
With that, she turns away and leaves, her footsteps on the marble floor the only sound left in the big hallway. It’s early morning and nobody’s awake yet. Kieran shows up with a huge stack of folders doing his usual routine. He notices us and points to the folders, smiling. I return the smile and wave to him. He gives me a thumbs up almost dropping some of the folders. This wolf...
FABIAN
Ok. That’s settled. See you guys tomorrow.
LUCIAN
Wait, Fabian. Are you still mad at me?
FABIAN
I’m not mad at you.
LUCIAN
You could’ve fooled me...
FABIAN
Consider yourself fooled then.
LUCIAN
What is that supposed to mean?
FABIAN
See ya tomorrow.
He paces out in hurry, not bothering with our discussion anymore. Darius looks at the rabbit and gives out a long, exhausted sigh.
DARIUS
Days like this make me wonder how I am friends with him...He seems like he is someone else at times. But then again, we all are now. Things will not be the same ever again.
All of our studies are gone now. We’ve stepped into a different world and there’s no turning back anymore, no matter how much any of us might want to go back to how things were. We weren't asked if we could quit this equalizing thing, because the finality of the situation was painted in detailed strokes. Both Darius and Fabian were hospitalized because of me. This aspect business isn’t a joke, and if it’s a game, it has the highest stakes I’ve ever had to experience in my life. Darius is right. Things will never be the same again. But for me, there’s not much I am leaving behind either way. It’s not like I can’t study the planets as a hobby. It's everything else that scares me."

Ooof those work hours sound rough to me as a morning person! No value in second guessing past decisions, when it's all set and done. Creating a VN to me seems like a marathon and not a sprint, so the cautious approach of conserving energy and resources makes the most sense. Great to hear it's paying off with increased readership and Discord members! <3
